Ah!! This read was so fun!! The characters were lively and had their distinct voices. The world of Minfall is exciting and innovative. I appreciated the scientific explanation as well in regard to how the inventions worked. Those details just made the world feel even more real (as real as a fictional world can feel!). And I especially enjoyed the last third of the story where Jay gets really introspective and how meeting someone new opens his eyes and challenges him on he was viewing himself and others.

Congrats to the author on her first book!! I’m excited to read more in the future!

First of all, go read this book now. If you want, read this review so I can convince you to read the book.

I absolutely loved this book. The plot was insane, N.R. Lohja broke the fourth wall, making Jayden Wylder know he was fictional, being written, and being read. I’ve never ever seen anything like this before. And it was awesome.
Usually about halfway through a book I can start predicting the way the plot will go, who will die, and plot twists, stuff like that. But halfway through I had no idea on what was going to happen at the end, which made the insane ending even more insane.

Jayden Wylder, our favorite hero himself. I absolutely loved reading about him, his character was great, talk about a redemption arc. He really shows that like he said, villains aren’t born, but yet made. And I loved that.

Jayden and Amelia. Their ending was beautiful, terrible, and absolutely heart shattering. It really shows that you have to let go of things you love to save the majority.
And yes, I’ll admit it, I was absolutely sobbing with their ending. Jay + Cowgirl forever <3

The ending. I did not see it coming at all, which made it even more heart wrenching. I don’t even know how to explain it, you’ll just have to read it yourself;)

A few of my favorite lines from the book:
“‘Time is such a fickle thing. It doesn’t care who it affects, just that it continues to tick, on and on.’”
“‘The story was always yours. Now I’m just glad you were in mine.’”
“It was nice knowing you, reader.”
“His name was Jayden Wylder.”

I LOVED it!! An amazing debut novel for N. R. Lohja! It was a fantastic read; I'd recommend it to anyone who likes fantasy. It was well written, exciting, it had good world-building, external conflict and internal conflict, and I didn't want to stop reading until it was finished. Jayden was a character I was excited to get to know, and the story made me often want to laugh, cry, or even just slap him around a bit for sense. All in all, it was an intriguing, emotional, fantastic story.

First off - READ THIS BOOK... NOW...

The tale of Jayden Wylder tells a story of a character who knows he's fictional and in a book; he longs for his author/writer to send a disaster for him to fix so that he may become the hero of his story. Lohja uses this to create some phenomenal character building and witty 4th wall breaks, pairing that with twists left and right to keep you on the edge of your seat the entire book.

Each character has their own personality and the world they live in is built with vibrance; the intro chapter shows this in such a unique way that is a beyond a joy to read. Every chapter following it portrays Jayden's personality beautifully; you can't help but fall in love with him, rooting for his hopes and dreams regardless of how twisted they may get.

Despite sitting at an average of 30 pages, each chapter flies by as you speed-read to see what comes next. While being sucked into the world N.R. Lohja has built, I sat there many times wishing I could give Jayden a hug, test out some of his cool futuristic gadgets, or explore the utopia of Minfall City.

Alright, enough reading my review, go read this book instead!
