When Alisdair Mackenzie is summoned to his Laird Keane Mackay’s study the last thing he expected was to be appointed Laird of Aberach which is a cadet branch of the main Clan Mackay located in Dunhara a castle north of Keane’s base. To protect the clan from Laird Sutherland who sought to claim the land for his own Alisdair agreed to accept the appointment. Upon his arrival it was clear that he was not welcome there when he was greeted with scowls and frowning faces, Alisdair knew he had his work cutout for him. Lady Vivian Ashcombe was sent to live at a nunnery to protect her from Laird Sutherland, on learning that her father was killed by Sutherland she knew that she was no longer safe there and that it was time to follow the plan set up by her father years ago. While following the plan she was captured by 2 of Sutherlands men and as they were trying to get her on a horse they were stopped by Laird Alisdair Mackenzie. Not knowing who the lass was and knowing that someone was after her Alisdair knew he couldn’t leave her so he took her to his castle to keep her safe. What happens next? You’ll have to read the book to find out! This is an excellent book with great cast of characters and one you won’t want to miss!!

Absolutely phenomenal!

I loved this book! The story of Alisdair and Vivian is filled with love, loss, laughter, a bit of danger and is an absolute must read! Alisdair is sent by his Laird to be the new Laird of Clan Mackay in Aberach. And it isn’t an easy task. The clan is distrustful at first and it will take Alisdair time to gain that trust. He will meet Vivian outside of an inn where several men are trying to kidnap her. They are Laird Sutherland’s men and he is after her inheritance now that he has killed her father. At first, Alisdair and Vivian don’t get along very well but soon things will begin to change as feelings begin to grow. There will be danger along the way and things get worse when they find that Sutherland has Vivian’s sister. A plan of rescue that will include allies from other clans will have the desired result as her sister Aveline is safe and Sutherland pays the ultimate price. They will get the chance to have their happily ever after, and the girls will get to return to their childhood home one more time.

Protecting an Englishwoman

Alasdair is the new Laird MacKenzie but not through a bloodline. He has to work hard to win the respect of his council and his new people. When he saves a young woman from abduction and brings her back to his new clan, that complicates things further. Especially since his council demands he marry the woman. Vivian, and English woman, has been in a priory for the last 11 years. Now she is living in a Scottish clan where she does not feel welcome. But she is a wealthy heiress and as such needs protection from another laird who is determined to have her at any cost. I enjoyed the story however I found Vivian to be a brat and reckless with her words and action through the first part of the book. I also thought the extended epilogue left me hanging a bit.

Upon finding her father was dead she knew she had to find her sister Adeline before Laird Sutherland found either of them. She never anticipated being rescued by Alisdair Mackenzie. When they are forced into marriage to save her from Laird Sutherland will they be able to rise above their differences to find their forever happiness? A thrilling story with plot twists you will love!

It's been my pleasure and is my pleasure reading another very well written story in this Morgan Clan Damsel in Distress Stories. Alistair and Vivian journey held me captive from beginning to end, the humor they shared, Alistair protection and Vivian's innocence 😇 along with all of the well written supporting character's is a journey you won't be disappointed, and of course as always true love always conquer !!!

Excellent Book!

The story of Alisdair and Vivian was full of action, the unexpected, loss and love. The characters were awesome. Loved Vivian innocence and strong character for someone practically raised at a convent. Alisdair a war warrior chief is appointed laird of a clan with no leadership is handsome, smart and caring. A must read can't wait to read the next book in this series.
