Faith

Twelve years ago, Jude Kent shattered my heart. One minute, we were planning a future together. The next, he was gone—chasing his dreams and leaving me behind to pick up the pieces. I rebuilt my life without him. I had to. But now, in some cruel twist of fate, he’s here. At the same tropical resort. Looking at me like I still mean something to him.

I should walk away. I should ignore the sparks that never truly faded. But when he suggests spending time together, I agree. Maybe out of curiosity. Maybe out of something I don’t want to name. The more time we spend together, the more dangerous it feels—because I know exactly how this ends. And I refuse to fall apart all over again.

Jude

I never stopped regretting the way I left Faith. I had my reasons, but none of them feel good enough now. Not when she’s standing in front of me, guarded and stunning, reminding me of everything I lost.

I know one week isn’t enough to fix what I broke. But it’s enough to prove I’ve changed. Enough to remind her what we had. What we could still have.

At the end of this trip, I have a choice—let her go again or fight for the only love I’ve ever known. But the real question is… will she let me?

Remembering You is a second chance contemporary romance with all the feels.

Remembering You (The Saxville Sweethearts #1) by JJ Hart had a lot of potential. I’m always a sucker for second chance romance novels. Faith & Jude were high school sweethearts about to be separated to follow their futures. Jude decides it’s better to breakup with Faith and not do the long distance thing so he does. 12 years go by and the two run in to each other at a resort in Aruba.

Both had never gotten over each other and still love one another. This is part of the book that begin to lose steam for… I became bored and didn’t really care for any of the characters. They were whiney and immature for being 30 years old. I don’t care for the writing style. I really wish I could have enjoyed this one more but I was skimming at the end.

I give Remembering You (The Saxville Sweethearts #1) by JJ Hart 2 stars.

This book was such a sweet story. When Jude breaks up with Faith before leaving to college she thinks that she will never find love like that again. 12 years later she never imagined that she’d run into him again. Will they be able to get a second chance or will their connection stay in the past? I loved getting to see how hard everything was for Jude as well as for Faith but I loved that it didn’t focus solely on her feelings

This story was heartfelt, raw, and incredibly relatable. I loved Faith and Jude’s journey—full of love, longing, and hope. The author did a beautiful job showing how second chances can bloom when you stay open. I also really appreciated the included playlist and the mindfulness around potential triggers—such a thoughtful touch. A moving, emotional read that left me believing in serendipity and the magic of being in the right place at the right time

A second chance romance!
This was my first book from JJ Hart, and a Bookclub read. I was excited to get to this book and I enjoyed it.
I really love second chance romances because who doesn’t 🥹. Right off the bat the book starts off with heartbreak 💔. And ugh my heart. Long distance is not for everyone. High school sweethearts. Lots of time passes by 12 years to be exact where both Faith and Jude come across each other again. Faith is there with her girls on a girls trip and there to help out her friend who is getting married soon. Jude is there for a friend’s wedding.
At first things are awkward but they get to talking and one thing leads to another. They connect alright, more than connect. Things get very spicy 🥵 and so do their feelings. But reality will soon come again and their vacation will be over soon. They’ll have to go back to their own homes which they live in completely different states. You can just tell their connection is so strong towards each other their chemistry. Those that deserve it need that second chance at love. So many cute moments as well as emotional ones and spicy ones of course. There were also funny moments too. Overall I thought their story was pretty nice, had good potential. I liked the way it ended if you’re into HEA you’ll enjoy it too. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the series.

Would I recommend?
Yes.

As we all know I like to make sure I read series in order, it is 💯 a pet peeve of mine. So when J.J. Hart Reached out to me about reading her new book Wanting You, I was like OK yes! But let me read Remembering you first!

Thank you for reaching out! I don’t know if or when I would have found you or your book, which would have been tragic! Because, Remembering You was heartbreaking/heart-healing beautiful second chance romance!

After 12 years of avoidance and zero communication, but both were stuck because they KNEW that they were each other’s soulmates but didn’t know how to go about reconnecting because of all the hurt.

However fate intervened because these two happen to run into each other in Aruba while one is on a girls trip and the other is the best man in his best friend’s wedding. I mean what are the odds!?!

This book gave me ALL the feels, just when I thought I was moving past how Jude broke Faiths heart, something else equally heartbreaking is brought up and I just wanted to give Faith a hug!

Tropes:
👙Aruba Setting
☀️Second Chance
🫶High school Sweethearts
👙Heart Breaking
☀️Heart Healing
🫶First act Heart break
👙NO third act break up

My first read by J. J. Hart, book one of the Saxville Sweetheart Series. It was nice to see that this story had depth, and not only in the chilli 🌶️ form. Additionally visiting memories, feelings, and consequences.

Why 4⭐s?

⭐ For addressing memory, grief, and love without drowning me in melodrama.
⭐ For giving me characters who actually felt like people - messy, stubborn, trying their best, and especially for character's that held themselves accountable for their past actions.
⭐ For writing smut without the word 'pulsating'.
⭐ For making me reflect on how tiny moments can change everything, even when we don’t realise it.

Hart writes in a way that is warm without being overly sweet, and the emotional beats hit in a way that feels earned, not engineered.

If you enjoy stories about connection, healing, and the messy in-between of what we choose to remember (and what we wish we could forget), this one’s worth picking up. A solid, cosy, quietly powerful read.

If second-chance romance and forced proximity are your favorite tropes, this book is a must-read.

Each other's first love with an undeniable bond. Until he ended things, leaving her devastated. Over time, she rebuilt her life, yet no one ever quite matched the love she lost. As for him? Moving on was impossible. The pain of their breakup and the regret of not being there when she needed him most haunted him.

Now, twelve years later, fate brings them together again on a breathtaking tropical island. The moment they reunite, the air crackles with unresolved issues—years of longing, deep sorrow, and a chemistry that won't fade. This story is filled with emotion, from heartbreak to healing, from devastation to pure, unfiltered joy. Their love was never meant to end... and maybe, just maybe, fate is giving them a second chance to get it right.

Wow, this book pulled me in right from the start, I was hooked after those two prologues. I absolutely love a second-chance meeting in the most unexpected place, and this story delivered perfectly. The beginning shattered me, but the rest of the book slowly pieced me back together in the best way. 💔✨

One of my favorite parts? The lack of unnecessary drama. Faith and Jude handled everything with such maturity (maybe thanks to their age and experience), and it made their story feel so genuine. Still, it broke my heart knowing they’d been apart for 12 years when their chemistry was undeniable from the very first page.
And let’s not forget Kendall and Klara the MVPs of this book! 🙌

✨ What to Expect:
🏡 Small town vibes
💞 Second chance romance
🛏️ Forced proximity
🥐 Cinnamon roll MMC
🌴 Vacation setting
🖋️ Hidden tattoos
🚫 No third-act breakup

Faith and Jude were high school sweethearts. Jude let his friends convince him to break up with her after high school since they were going to be long-distance.

12 years later they are both at the same resort. It's a little awkward but the attraction and pull are still there.

J.J. does a great job at sucking you into their story and making you love all the characters! I can't wait for the next book!!

I absolutely love Second Chance romance tropes and this book IS JUST THAT!!

I was fortunate enough to have this book as an ARC read. It’s the first in this series by a new author, and it was quite enjoyable.

We meet Faith and Jude, who are high school sweethearts but end up breaking up. Fast forward many years later and the forced proximity of running into each other in a resort in Aruba brings these two back together.

As they spend time together, once again, they realize their feelings never sizzled and without giving too much away, Jude is the one that pursues, their reconnection hard!

There isn’t a huge third act break up so if you are a fan of that, then you will like this book as much as me. Looking forward to continuing on with the series.

Faith and Jude were the best high school sweethearts, that is until he decided breaking up would be the best for both of them because they were going to college in different states. Little did Jude realize they were both going to miss each other so much.

Flashforward years later and they are both living their lives and happen to end up at the same resort in Aruba at the same time.

After a couple of awkward run-ins, Faith agrees to meet up and talk with Jude. They both still have feelings, but mainly Faith has to decide if she is going to follow her heart or remain living life without Jude.

I loved this second-chance romance by J.J. Hart and I cannot wait to read more from her!

Jude and Faith were high school sweethearts. Jude decides to end the relationship before heading off to college which breaks Faith’s heart. Neither one of them were able to move on.

12 years later, they run into each other in Aruba. It really is one happy island!! They keep running into each other on the resort. Eventually they talk and both still realize that they still care for each other and never stopped loving each other.

This second chance romance gave me all the feels. I enjoyed everything about this book and cannot wait to read the next book.

Remembering You was such a sweet story that I couldn’t put down. The book was a rollercoaster of emotions that was done so beautifully. I love when I can really feel all the emotions that a character is going through. Faith’s overthinking mind was so relatable even if you wanted to knock some sense into her a few times. She seriously has the most understanding girl squad and I really appreciated all the sisterhood moments this book had. I now also need a group of friends who are down to go to Aruba with me. If you’re looking for the sweetest second chance romance, you’re going to want to give this book and JJ Hart a shot!

A lovely story about loss and loss and coming back from that loss by debut author JJ Hart. Jude and Faith were teen sweethearts with a bright future ahead of them. The upcoming distance of college and life after high school tears them apart. In the intervening years, both have to deal with their losses separately in whatever way works for them. They randomly come face to face again and must now face all of their fears and their losses. Can they forgive each other for the pain caused? A moving story with a punch of intimate moments (both physically and emotionally).

This seriously spicy book is actually a tender love story about a man and woman who get a second chance at romance. There were some surprises along the way when I fully expected that a romance novel cliché was up next, instead it was something entirely unexpected. I like that. There are scenes that deal with feelings about a past abortion. That could be highly relatable to some readers, or triggering to others, depending on the individual. All in all I would say I would like to read more from this author, especially if I am in the mood for a real good love story.

Faith and Jude’s second-chance romance is packed with emotion, intensity, and spice. The story leans very steamy, with bold language and open-door scenes throughout.

Alongside the high heat, there are emotionally heavy themes that give the story depth and heart.

This is a passionate and heartfelt read from a bold indie voice. Perfect for those who love second-chance romance with high heat and emotional stakes.

This beautiful second chance story of Jude & Faith is so inspiring. This is a story about loss and survival after the loss.
12 years pass until Faith and Jude get their second shot at a life together and the journey is just heartwarming. Their chemistry and connection run so deep that it made me emotional throughout the entire book.

I really wanted to like this book. The blurb sounded so great, but the writing was really hard to read. The author wrote in circles and repeated herself too often and it made the story really choppy and I just couldn’t get past the third chapter.
The prologue was unnecessarily long as well.

Love stories are not my genre. Usually when I pick up a romance novel I can’t get through 3 chapters.
This one was good.
A Second chance at rekindling love.
This one definitely had me wanting to go on a tropical vacation.

Jude and Faith are each other’s first love. When Jude ends things Faith is crushed but over time picks herself back up and moves on with her life the best she can…but that relationship is always in the back of her mind and is a standard she holds men too. Meanwhile, Jude has tried to move on but always reminisces on the awful way things ended with Faith and he has regrets about not going back for her during her time of need. Now, twelve years later, they happen to be vacationing on the same tropical island!!

This second chance romance is beautifully written. I felt Faith’s heartbreak through the pages and the tension when they were finally reunited. This book gave me all the feels. The longing, the sadness, the chemistry between the two MCs (amaziiiiing!) and the happiness. I was laughing out loud, kicking my feet and almost in tears at one point. If you are a fan of second chance romance or forced proximity then this is a must read. Not to mention, it would be a perfect vacation read!

This has me laughing, crying and swooning.

This is a second chance romance. They knew each other years ago and see each other again on vacation in Aruba.

Jude is sweet and caring and from prologue to epilogue I loved every minute of getting to know him. There are things he does and some micro tropes that are my absolute favorite....won't mention cause it's best to read and be surprised.

Faith is a smart and caring woman. She is tough and strong and getting to see her back story was amazing. Again prologue to epilogue I loved seeing her reflect and grow and overcome things.

I really hope this gets a lot of readers and hope so many people enjoy this story like I did. I'm looking forward to more stories in the series.
