From USA Today best-selling author Jack Mars (with over 10,000 five-star reviews) comes a groundbreaking new political thriller series. As Air Force One soars towards Hawaii, Secret Service Agent Jake Mercer uncovers a plot to crash the plane. Can he protect the President and his family in this race against time?
A gripping and unpredictable political thriller, the Jake Mercer series is a thrilling action series that will leave you unable to put it down. This fresh and exciting action hero will have you listening late into the night, and fans of Brad Taylor, Vince Flynn, and Tom Clancy are sure to fall in love.
Jack Mars is author of the bestselling LUKE STONE thriller series, which include the suspense thrillers ANY MEANS NECESSARY (book #1), OATH OF OFFICE (book #2) and SITUATION ROOM (book #3).
On The West Wing, Mark Harmon’s character was duty-bound to ~not~ become romantically involved with the person he was guarding, so he couldn’t date C.J. So why is Jake dating Sheila, the President’s daughter? How is that allowed? And she’s juvenile and annoying. In the face of danger, where it’s Jake’s job to investigate, she’s whining that she wants to be with him. She’s very irritating and I hope their relationship ends soon.
Jake and Jess fly with the president and his family to Hawaii as part of their protection detail for a short holiday. Soon after the reach their cruising altitude above the clouds the problems begin. Trident is attacking Air Force One and they're already on board. This was quite a fast paced read with twists and turns around every corner.
Secret Service agent Jake Mercer is tasked with protecting the President and his family as they fly on Air Force One to Hawaii. What could go wrong? A clue, there's no time for the movie. Seriously, if you've read the first three you understand the way this goes and the action to come. The audio version was adequate.
The audiobook voices by Hades sounds like it is generated by AI as normal words are said phonetically and no where near correct even on the simplest words, like agent, said agg-ent, or wished is instead wish-ed. Very distracting. And I do not remember this being an issue in the previous audiobooks from this series…
This story had so many twists and turns and obstacles to overcome while the Trident terrorists kept throwing threats at the Secret Service team. It turns out that the Trident leader Bard had compromised some of the Crew on Air Force One to try to assassinate the President and his family.
I liked it. Full of action. I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't jumped into the series at book 4. I didn't fully aprieciate the feelings, or the dislike from the presidents wife. The back story would have made it more impactful. Reading in order would have helped with that.
Certainement l’un des meilleurs de cette série, même si quelques incohérences se sont glissées. Cependant, ce huit clos dans Air Force one est palpitant du début à la fin.
Just as good as the previous books in the series. Action packed with a heartfelt theme of desperation and sacrificing love to protect a person you love most.
Excellent storyline; I'm beginning to dislike Sheila very much. The editors need to do a better job of correcting word errors (where vs. wear + others).
