Fun English radio series - where two elderly ladies correspond via email - bad spellings, puns and passive aggressive one-up-man-ship included!

I love these audiobooks. Vera and Irene have now got email and they continue their chronicle of their lives always trying to subtlety get one over on the other. They both think each other's daughters are wonderful while decrying the antics of their own. Actually, neither of the daughters is much to brag on. Vera's family careens towards one uproar or another while's Irene's ignores obviously unsuitable behavior of her daughter, Leslie.

The humor is often subtle and as many times as I have listened to the CD's, I still find something new each time. They are a real treat to listen to.

I have listened to this audio book a couple of times now, and it's weird and funny at the same time. The two main characters are naive, and that only adds to the hilarity of the letters.
