Devil's Mayhem MC #3

The Prez: Devil's Mayhem MC, Book 3

Rate this book
Rafael

As the president of the Devil's Mayhem MC, I make the hard decisions so my men don't have to. They're my family, but I have to keep myself separate from them. After I failed my own family, I can't risk failing them too.

A visit from the sheriff changes everything. Suddenly I find myself raising my estranged sister's six-month-old son and completely out of my depth. I desperately need help, and that comes in the form of Omari, who quickly becomes more than a manny to me.

Omari

Things aren't going so well for me. I lost my office job and ended up having to crash at my best friend's house. But that ends after a horrible incident involving my best friend's boyfriend trying to proposition me. Answering a help wanted ad for a nanny position to get on my feet was not ideal, especially when the man who needed the help was the scary president of the motorcycle club I had a run-in with a few months back. But the pay is good, and I can't possibly leave this sweet baby alone with his uncle, who has little regard for him. Raf is hardly home anyway, so we'll just stay out of each other's way.

But Raf isn't the scary biker I assumed he was. I want to peel back his prickly layers to get to the soft middle I only catch glimpses of. But would someone that looks like him be interested in a chubby guy like me?

story of Rafael and Omari
This is a boss x employee to more dark romance, featuring Rafael and Omari, and is book three in the Devil’s Mayhem MC series.

Rafael is the President of the Devil’s Mayhem MC. He ends up being the guardian to his six month old nephew named Rafael but he has no idea how to look after a child.

Omari is unemployed and crashing with his sister. He applies for nanny position but he gets there, he meets Rafael and realises they have history together. Rafael remembers Omari but he is desperate enough to hire him.

This book started off with a bang, I will state before you jump in to read the CW. We got to see Rafael’s childhood and it was not good. Then fast forward, there is another loss. Which I was a little shocked and cried a little.

This is fast paced. Big Raf and Omari are instantly attracted to each other. Raf has a bi awakening early on and rolls with it, after getting over the fact Omari is his nanny, goes for what he wants. Raf gives off major Papi vibes, but Omari doesn’t take his crap and also doesn’t see him like everyone else does.

Omari is a baby whisperer, he falls for Big Raf and Little Raf quickly, and doesn’t hide his feelings. Omari is soft where Rafael is all hard edges, they make a great pair. There is drama with his ex BFF and his boyfriend, but Raf eventually sorts it out. They get their HEA, and it’s pretty swoony. Yay!

We get to see cameos from previous books in this series and also get introduced to some new characters. Loved Omari’s sister!

Things to expect in this book are:
Book 3 in series
MM dark romance
Boss x employee to more
Single guardian x Nanny
Hurt / Comfort
Living with grief & past trauma
Check CW
Hot bikers
Age gap (41/25)
Grumpy / Sunshine
Have history together
Bi awakening
Calls him precioso
MC with Pierced c*ck, yay!
Spicy times & dirty talk
Dates
Major drama
Touch him & d*e vibes
Love of my life vibes
Swoony HEA

I really enjoyed reading The Prez until halfway through when unfortunately it fell a bit short, I think it was Raf constantly saying how he’s a failure but about things that didn’t even concern him like Pete for example.

I absolutely loved this book. I loved getting to know Prez in the last 2 books so was patiently waiting got this one. So I did a little happy dance when it hit my mail box. I actually abandon other books to read this one first.

Prez come across as a tough S.O.B but after reading the start of this book and seeing what he has gone through in life I felt so sorry for him to the point I actually cried just a little. He his happiness seems to yo-yo for a bit.

I strangely loved the story of how Prez and Omari met and I did wonder if they will tell little Raf that story or just Omari become the nanny story when he gets older. I hated that Omari had to go though the abuse he got because of this body. Especially when it was his own mother but I’m glad he had his sister.

This one I felt was a emotional rollercoaster compared to the other 2 books in the series. Prez and Omari for completely different reason have had a hard lives but they are getting through it together which I loved and the fact that they are a family for little Raf is the most important thing.

I suppose you could read this as a stand-alone as there is enough to catch you up with the back stories but the convict and the enforcer are so good I would recommend reading the as the series and in order. As always checking the triggers is important that’s why the author included them.

Omari is a plus sized man who is in desperate need of a job in order to pay off the debt he owes his best friend’s abusive boyfriend. He finds himself becoming an in home nanny to an aggressive, rude, and emotionless club president and his 6 month old nephew. As Omari stays with the two, he finds that his new boss isn’t as heartless as he initially thought him to be. The mean club prez seems broken and Omari is just the perfect, sweet, and caring person Rafael needs to break him down and allow him to feel.

Rafael is the president of a motorcycle club who hasn’t shed a tear in 20 years after his tragic past that left him heartless to everything around him. In order to keep himself from being the failure he believes himself to be, he takes care of his club members and his 6 month old nephew who was thrown at him after his sister’s sudden death. Hiring Omari as his nanny wasn’t supposed to turn into the soft and sweet man becoming the savior Rafael needs in order to allow himself to heal from his horrific past.

THOUGHTS: OMG!!!! This book was absolutely heart wrenching! I cried so many times I lost count and I felt anger for things I normally would read with a straight face! This story took me by surprise with its angst, humor, and found family aspect that had me kicking my feet and squealing in excitement.

This story was recommended to me as something i’d be able to read as a standalone but after finishing it I already have plans to read the entire series since I loved it so much!!

If there was one thing I would change, i’d wish the ending had a bit more to it. It wasn’t necessarily rushed but I definitely feel like with how detailed the rest of the book was, I would have liked to see more in the ending!

Overall, HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good found family with a ton of angst and some spice to keep you entertained!

this is the MC we needed

Everything I want in a book. First of all, shout out to diversity!!!!!!!!!! Finally an MC book where color exists! Thank you for this!!! Second I really do love a book with a tough guy who has a soft spot for his person. This book is for the Prez. He gets his shot at love and it is magical. This book is about healing and finding your family. The smexy is hawt!! And I love the side characters. I’m excited to see what happens with Don and Kit.

For future me:
No cheating or sharing
Dual POV
A relationship before smexy
No switch
Yummy Black an Brown rep

It was bit boring. The characters didn't have chemistry and they fall in love in a second for no reason. Omari was too whiny at times, and the angst felt definitely too forced. Even the smut was meh.

*I was given an ARC for my honest opinion.

4.5. It took a bit for me to get into this. I almost abandoned it. It starts a bit slow and the situation with Kit and his bf is just over the top, but once Raf and Omari (love his name) actually meet (again) at the nanny interview, it's all good from there. I LOVED Raf and Omari together. I love that Omari called Raf 'Big Raf' and his nephew 'Little Raf' I loved that Omari had a lick of sense and that even though the situation with Brock played out the way it did, Omari had at least tried to prevent it. I loved that Raf was able to be vulnerable with Omari, and that Raf loved him he was, though I felt the numerous 'chubby' references were a bit of overkill. And I loved that Raf got closure at the end, AND I didn't even mind the epilogue or find it cringe. Yay, me!

So, well done. After a rough start, I really enjoyed.

I don’t understand why it’s always when their partners are on their deathbeds that they start regretting not saying “I love you.” Call me evil, but sometimes I wish the partners would actually die just so they’d feel the full weight of their regret. 😩😭

That aside, I know this book is filled with violence, but I absolutely loved how cutesy Raf and Omari’s little family turned out to be. My heart broke for Raf—losing loved ones back-to-back is such a devastating experience. But I adored his constant reassurance when it came to Omari and the way trust was carefully built between them. They were so sweet together with their child, and their dynamic was truly heartwarming.

As a huge fan of found family, this book did not disappoint! Now I need to go back and read book one, even though my stubborn self decided to start with book three 😂. I can’t wait to dive into the next book!

Prez!

Omari walked into Rafael's life and changed it forever. Neither one expecting anything more than a boss/nanny relationship in the beginning that quickly turned into friendship and finally into love. Both men had issues that they needed to work through but they found strength in each other which is always a beautiful thing. I'm really enjoying this MC series.

The Prez is the third book in the Devil's Mayhem MC series. Each book can be read as a standalone but why not enjoy both. Please read the trigger warnings before you start this book as it deals with some heavy themes. This is the story of Rafael the president of the Devil’s Mayhem MC and Omari the nanny. These two are perfect for each other. This book pulled me in from the start. I loved all the twists and turns in the story. I loved the steam between the guys. I would definitely recommend this book and series.

4.5/5 ⭐

The Prez is the third book in RS McKenzie's Devil's Mayhem MC series. Although you could probably read this as a standalone, I would recommend reading them in order to get the full story of the motorcycle club. Here's what you can expect from Rafael and Omari:

🏍️ MM motorcycle club romance
🏍️ First person dual point of view
🏍️ Guaranteed happily ever after
🏍️ Motorcycle club president x Nanny
🏍️ Grumpy/sunshine
🏍️ Dislike to lovers
🏍️ Hurt/comfort elements
🏍️ Size difference
🏍️ Plus-sized representation
🏍️ Age gap

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings and triggers may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading. The author also reminds readers to suspend their disbelief, as some of the things that take place on these pages may be outside the realm of possibility.

I love this series! I don't know what it is about it, but these have definitely been in some of my top reads of the year. Raf, or Prez as most of his brothers call him, has been a closed book in The Convict and The Enforcer, but I'm so excited we finally got his story. It was incredible to watch him find his happiness with Omari. And I absolutely adored the character of Omari. He was sweet, but could definitely hold his own and I always appreciate some plus-sized representation.

We briefly met Omari in the epilogue of The Enforcer, and let me tell you, he isn't what I expected at all. I ended up loving him, and his bond with Raf's nephew (fondly nicknames Little Raf) was so special right off the bat. Both characters have trauma. We learn the horrific nature of Prez's upbringing in the prologue which takes place 25 years prior. It explains a lot about who he is as a person and why he runs his club the way he does. We also learn about Omari's history as the story continues, and I was so angry at his best friend and best friend's boyfriend. Although this book is about a violent motorcycle club that regularly skirts the law and transports drugs, they aren't reckless and haphazard in their dealings. They don't target innocent folks, and they don't hurt people that don't deserve it. So, although this series certainly has a darker edge to it, you can't help but love the Devil's Mayhem MC and all it's members. Even Prez, once you get past his prickly exterior. Shane and Zeke from The Enforcer are some of my favourite characters from this year, and they had plenty of time on the pages in The Prez. I love the friendship between Omari and Shane, and Uncle Zeke was ridiculously adorable as I suspected he would be. Overall, this is a hidden gem series and The Prez was such a great read. I was so thrilled to see we'll be getting a fourth book, and I'll be looking forward to catching up with one of my favourite motorcylcle clubs then!

Another story in which the MC is in danger and goes outside alone—which is pretty weird by itself because one week ago he always had someone watching the house, the excuse for their absence didn’t make sense. But it’s not only that, he does with a baby and when feels something is wrong ignores the feeling not calling anyone—even after previous experiences.
And the other MC calls for cleaning but gets inside his car with the same clothes full of blood, very logical.

⭐️⭐️

Really wanted to love this based of the troupes but couldn’t get past Rafs whinnying. Like you’re meant to be the big scary boss but you’re so dramatic and don’t do anything about it. He also didn’t need to hate the kid like he could have just needed help i didn’t see the need for not even holding the kid. Would have been so much more likability if he cared for the kid and his inner monologue could have still be doubtful but hating the kid was just annoying. Omari basically took on the role of full time parent and let Raf use him. Yes he paid his dept and things but he was raising your kid?? And the clubhouse not being like “safe” for the baby and Omari was random for me as well for an MC book.

not even done yet but feelings won’t change:
this can’t be my last book of the year…

anyways started off promising but things took a turn waaay too quickly. you have one mf being dumb all “hE WoNT hURt mE” like stfu YES HE WILL THAT MAN IS A PSYCHO. Didn’t even feel bad when he got his face busted in. you have the biker mf who’s all like “I failed this I failed that” biiiitch… you failed to make me give a shit.
Don’t even get me started on the countless Little RAF/ Big Raf phrases in the same page… I WAS FED UP

Geez… ✨most annoying book goes to ✨

Here's R.S. McKenzie's "The Prez." It's the third book in her Devils Mayhem MC series.

Oh. My. Lanta. Wow. Talk about enemies-to-lovers mixed with mutual-pining mixed with meet-ugly mixed with sassy/sunshine-vs-snarky/grump. I mean, seriously, these two are trope goals (mixed with some adorable cliches and danger lurking around the corner (and spice, lots and lots of spice)).

Neither Omari nor Raf was looking for love (or wanting it), but it snuck up on them. They were tied together from day one, whether they realized it or not. And when they realized it, they were too far gone to do anything about it. ;)

Trigger Warnings: fatphobia, bullying, violence, gore, murder, selling and transporting drugs, spousal abuse (not between MCs), spousal death (not between MCs), patricide, unintentional harm of a child, and more.

Omari and Rafael's story wasn't one I expected. They are from two different worlds but fit together in a way that's just right for them both.

Rafael got sole custody of his nephew after his sister and her husband passed away, but he has no idea what to do with a baby. Everyone he has ever loved has gotten hurt, so how can he care for a baby? That's where Omari comes in.

Omari needs a job and money, when he sees a job listing asking for a live in nanny he knows that's the perfect job for him. He wasn't expecting his new boss to be the man who confronted him in the club. Overtime Omari gets to know Rafael on a more personal level and sees that not everything is as it seems.

I thought this story was good. These two men are very different from one another but they are what each other needs. Omari gives his love and care freely, whereas Rafael keeps how he feels close to his chest, and shows he cares in different ways. I liked the slow burn that occured between the two MC's, there was a lot of tension between Omari and Rafael at first but overtime they got to know each other and that tension faded.

Omari with little Raf was adorable, and what was even cuter was when Omari got Rafael involved with little Raf's care. It was so cute reading about the big bad president of his MC figuring out how to care for a little baby. The found family they formed was adorable, and the other members of the MC helped fully cement that found family aspect. I thought the writing was good, the story flowed nicely, and the characters had great dialogue.

I despised both Brock and Kit, they were so cruel and mean to Omari. I know Kit had a lot going on but that's no excuse for him to become so nasty towards his 'best friend'. (Minor Spoiler;: I'm glad Kit was able to start getting help, and that he got away from Brock.)

All in all, a good story full of unconventional found family goodness.

I had expectedly Prez's story to be the darkest of the series, but it ended up being the sweetest. Although, his book is more angsty and emotional than the other two. It deals with issues like grief, guilt, negative body image, and domestic violence.

Rafael had always been described as a cold but loyal man in the previous books. It was obvious he'd gone through awful situations, and reading about them wasn't easy, but it explained why he was so closed-off. Omari was perfect for him. He'd needed someone who could make him feel in touch with his emotions.

I'm not always a fan of children in romance books, but I loved Little Raf. Seeing him, Rafael and Omari progressively become a family was heartwarming.

This story would have been fantastic if it hadn't been for the way the whole Brock issue happened. The drama could have been resolved a lot earlier, and it made the story a bit predictable.

Honestly, I'm not sure about the next book. I didn't like Kit at all, but maybe I'll understand why Omari considers him his best friend if I read his story.

I loved this story of Rafael, the damaged president of the Devil’s Mayhem motorcycle club, so caring of his people but always feeling a failure, unworthy of love, due to his childhood and teen years, and Omari, a caring gentle soul but one who feels he isn’t worthy of a long term love because of his weight.
When Rafael finds himself with custody of his estranged sister’s six month old son, he quickly finds himself out of his depth, in desperate need of a nanny. Enter Omari, the one that will change his life forever. Their path to love isn’t easy or safe, but Omari can give Rafael what he needs, unquestioning acceptance and love.
This is a story of a morally grey man, one who does what he must to protect those he loves and cares for, at all costs, learning to lean on, and love, a man — even though he’s never looked at a man before. Surprisingly, Rafael takes that in stride, having more of a problem believing he is worthy of love. What Omari and Little Raf bring to him is life-changing, leading to the best man he can be.
There is love and hate, violence and healing, renewal and revenge, laughter, and tears — both the good kind and the grieving kind, as Omari helps bring out the man Rafe is meant to be.
Wonderful characters all around, great world building with the motorcycle club and the trust and loyalty between the members, steamy times as Rafe and Omari explore this new thing between them, and an adorable baby to cement them all together. An exciting and satisfying read, one which held my interest the whole time, immersed in the developing relationship and the changing dynamic between the two main characters. Looking forward to the next book from this amazing, emotional author. If you like motorcycle club reads, I would recommend this one for sure.

Loved it! I was hooked right from the start and it was great to see both MCs overcome their issues with help from each other. It was nice to see the Prez finally open and we can thank Omari's honesty, opennes and constancy for that. I felt like they were each others rocks, and Omari was the softness to balance out Rafael's hard edges.
I loved that Omari wasn't afraid of Rafael and stood up to him. Maybe they weren't all in from the start, but to me it felt like they were both all in right from the start. Little Raf was a cute little addition and I loved that Omari called Rafael Big Raf. I loved seeing Rafael protectiveness, but I also felt bad for him when he was kicking himself over not being able to save or protect someone. Under that hard exterior he's just a sweet, loyal and protective person who will do anything for the people in his inner circle. I also really enjoyed how much Rafael loved Omari's body and that he waa always up for showing him that. Omari was so sweet, feisty and caring, and I felt bad for him when he let other people's comments about his weight bother him, but I was glad that Big Raf was there to tell him otherwise and help him live himself. It felt like they were exactly what the other person needed.

I really enjoyed the pacing of the book and I struggled to put it down, I constantly wanted to see what would happen next. We got to see the MCs from the previous 2 books, and I'll be reading theem soon. I really enjoyed the whole vibe of the book and I had a lot of fun reading it, even if at some parts things got a bit darkish.

If you're in the mood for MC romance between the president of the MC and his nanny with sweet and hot moments then this is the book for you.

Rafael, at forty-one, is the Prez of the Devil’s Mayhem MC, and can and will always take care of his brothers, he himself doesn’t need care, he’ll always handle it.
He has some traumatic memories and the feelings of failure are upfront.

One day he got a message his sister had a car accident, and left him her five-month-old baby boy.
Rafael has no idea what to do with little Rafael. He doesn’t want him and is glad to hand over the care to a nanny.

The new live-in manny is Omari, who doesn’t seem to be afraid of big dangerous grumpy Rafael.
He doesn’t get why Rafael has no interest in little baby Rafael.

Rafael the grumpy bastard finds Omari attractive. Omari knows the Prez is way out of his league, he’s chubby, too heavy, and has heard too many times no one wants a guy like him. Ha!
Slowly Rafael is melting and lowering his walls a bit, only for Omari of course!

Both men are dragging baggage on their shoulders. Rafael his bloody past and his heavy weighted guilt, and Omari who has a creepy insane man breathing in his neck, who wants him dead.

This together with family, friends, and MC brothers, makes it into a bloody thrilling, emotional, sexy story that’s super duper captivatingly written, and earns a recommendation!!

I really enjoyed this book! I didn’t really want to read the first two in the series and I was worried I would be lost but that wasn’t the case at all. Yes the couples from the first two books make appearances but their stories get told enough in this book that you’re not lost on who they are. I loved that Raf didn’t give a shit about Omari being a guy or his figure he liked what he saw and went for it. Omari was strong and held his own which I really appreciated, especially with being surrounded by tough biker men. But even with how strong Omari was he did show glimpses of vulnerability and I loved that Raf was there for those times to support Omari and love on him. What Kit said to Omari was disgusting and I totally understand why Omari is hesitant to be friends again. Kit broke his trust and now they’ll always be a voice in Omari’s head asking if Kit is lying to him. Kits got along way to go and maybe with the help of a certain biker 😏 he’ll be able to get there. Big Raf is now one of my favorite biker men, his relationship with little raf was so amazing to watch. How he slowly allowed himself to care for the little guy. With the help of Omari, Big Raf became the loving uncle little raf needed.

Perfect

Rafael has just lost two very important people in the span of a few days.
One his brother in arms, the VP to his MC club.
The other his estranged sister who also leaves a six month old baby.
All this is piled upon a childhood of pain and suffering that taught him to close himself off and harden his heart.
He simply can't cope and isn't in any position to care for his nephew.
Omari is trouble.
He's already had a run in with Rafael at one of his clubs for selling but he made a mistake which then leads to his best friend's boyfriend harassing him and not being believed.
He answers an ad for a live in manny and of course it's for Rafael's nephew.
Omari has also had to deal with abuse and bullying, mainly from his mother over his weight.
I love that even though he's terrified of Rafael he let's him know with no qualms that he's falling down on the job of raising Little Raf.
Omari may be considered weaker but he's absolutely not and he's not afraid to let Rafael have it when necessary. Omari is able to bring love and light into Rafael's life while Rafael is so fiercely protective of Omari and Little Raf.
Together they're able to heal both individually and together as a couple.

I’m really enjoying this series, I love the blend of the gritty MC world building with some surprisingly sweet romance. The characters are layered, in turns scary, kind, and uniquely lovable. I’ve been interested in getting Prez’s story and it does not disappoint, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Rafael is the president of the Devil’s Mayhem MC, he is a strong leader and definitely looks out for his men but he’s also kind of separate and a bit aloof. In the harrowing opening we get a look at his past and why he maybe keeps to himself. The opening was heart pounding and heartbreaking, beautifully written and definitely got me immediately invested in Rafael. I also loved how Omari comes into Rafael’s life, he becomes the nanny when Rafael unexpectedly has to take custody of his infant nephew baby Raf. This has a lovely slow burn as the three get to know each other, it’s rocky at first but I loved the evolution of their relationship. It’s wasn’t an easy road to their HEA, but a worthwhile one for sure. Loved it a lot.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

Devastated that this series is over for now and I’m gonna have to wait for Donovan and Kit’s book 😭😭 I said this in my review of The Enforcer but this series has truly had me in a chokehold! I binged them all and never wanted to leave their world. I for sure feel a slump coming on now lol

This story was the perfect addition to the series! Rafael had so much hurt in his life and held so much hurt in his heart. It made me so happy to see Omari’s character come along and not only not take his shit, but be the person to tell Raf how special he was and give him space to be vulnerable and work through his past.

These 2 were undoubtedly perfect for each other and the bond they created together with Little Raf was adorable 🥹

Each book in this series is so unique in its plot. I think this was definitely the most emotional out of the bunch. My heart truly broke for Raf and Pete (which was a surprising element to this story that had me in tears ☹️). Despite the emotions and traumatic pasts/experiences, R.S. McKenzie wrote this so beautifully and it had the most perfect ending!

I cannot wait to get my hands on Donovan and Kit’s story!

Entertaining, easy read that wets the appetite for those wanting a little bit of dark romance and yet like the light fluffy romance more. Which I do (tho I’m a fan of Dark romance too). This one sees the Prez dealing with multiple losses as well as seeing a male and falling hard. It’s a slow burn in a way of Prez holding back but there was no hesitation about him falling for a male, which I really appreciated especially with the tone of the book itself.
