Fairies Don't Date Dragons

Rate this book
It's not my fairy side that draws Benson in.
Nope, this dragon shifter is drawn to my human side, and he claims I'm his mate.
Well, he's got another thing coming because this girl has other plans.
Well, I thought I did.

I got my first job as an architect, working on the new zipline at Camp Spellbound. In fact, all sorts of supernatural have come together to make this project work. It's my one chance to prove that I belong in the supernatural world. Being half fairy doesn't get me a lot of points in the supernatural world, and the human one, too, if I'm honest with myself.

Things are about to change but a dragon shifter claims me as his, and someone is sabotaging the project.

Maybe, I should call it quits and head home while I have the chance.

Why did I ever accept this job at Camp Spellbound.

Each book in the Camp Spellbound Series can be read as a standalone, but for the most pleasurable reading experience, I advise you to read them in order.

Hello! It's fun to have you here, and I can't wait to share with you the stories I've written. (I think that's my favorite part about being an author is gushing over the books I write with other people!)

With that being said, not only am I an author, but a homeschool mom to four beautiful children, and married to the man who inspires most of the swoony scenes you'll read (insert sigh); which goes to say that I'm happily married and he's the best thing that's happened to me.

Along with writing books, I love art (hence my children's books), photography, trying to new recipes, and going on adventures! (Cruises, hikes, strawberry patches, Disney...you name it! We just recently went to Universal Studios (Harry Potter World) and LOVED it!

I love getting out and exploring the beautiful earth my Heavenly Father has created for me and hope to explore Europe one day. (Gotta see those castles for inspiration ;)

While still a fun, fluffy paranormal romance with some danger here and there, it fell a little flat for me. Unlike the first book it didn’t have that “Disney Channel nostalgia” feel that I was expecting and rather then a friend group around the leads it was…just them. Don’t get me wrong, I like romances that solely focus on the couple, but I was expecting more like the first book and was disappointed.

Then there’s the whole Benson is a dragon and therefore possessive and overprotective and, boy, I was worried for a bit there! He initially comes off waaayyy too much and VERY overbearing and touchy after just meeting Ally for the first time and I was worried about how far this would go, but thankfully when Ally put her foot down and set up boundaries he respected them and backed off and it was fine, but I feel the strength of which he starts out may turn off a lot of people and for good reason, based on all the horrible and romanticized abuse stories that are out there.

And while the first book also dealt with a mate bond, this one just started with a bang and I honestly thought it was too fast in how they didn’t get to know each other that well at first before they were madly in love—it just felt a little convenient and less organic then them gradually falling in love with the bond getting stronger over time because they actually wanted it too rather then it just…happening.

I also wanted more of the zip line project being sabotaged but what we got was great until the very end when things were rushed and just ended with no explanation as to why things went the way they did. It almost felt like the author was just done and wanted to get it over with.

And why oh why can’t the female MC have a guy best friend who STAYS her best friend without falling in love with her?! Unless it’s a friends to lovers romance I don’t want to see this anymore—I swear I’m going to write a book someday where the girl MC has a guy best friend who’s in love with another girl and just stays the MC’s supportive friend, because THAT’S the dynamic I want to read about! And why are all these guys named William/Will?! He’s the second Will I’ve come across attached to this unfortunate trope, and if I find a third I’m going to get VERY suspicious.

So while I liked it okay, I still think book one is better. Will I read books two and three still? (because of COURSE I read them out of order, who do you think I am?) Yes, if they’re on sale, but I wouldn’t pay full price for them, haha.

Sweet Romance

I enjoyed the romance and story the author created. This was a fun read and I'm excited to grab the next book in the series.
