A Dirty Dead End

Rate this book
It’s finally happened.

Glasgow’s DCI Pat Curzon is where he always feared he’d end up - in Barlinnie prison.

But even he could never have dreamt it would be for a murder he hadn’t committed.

Staring down the barrel of a whole-life sentence, what should be his darkest hour suddenly becomes a busman’s holiday when a fellow inmate is found murdered in his cell.

Like a bear with a beehive, Curzon cannot help but poke his nose in.

It demands every fibre of his ingenuity to pursue threads that lead outside the prison, every atom of his discretion to keep his sleuthing a secret from the other prisoners.

Inspired by its tenements, city-centre grid plan, social history, culture and inimitably noir atmosphere, Geoff Small's first four books are set in Scotland's largest city, Glasgow. Guilt Tripper was his debut, but he is better known for the Dirty Rouge detective series, featuring DCI Patrick Curzon. So far Curzon has made three appearances, in The Dirty Rouge, A Long Walk In The Snow and now Whisky Leaks.

Absolutely Brilliant

I have read all 14 books featuring DCI Curzon over a 2 week period. I accidentally stumbled on Geoff Small books and was addicted. Every book I have rated 5 stars. Fast paced, gritty storytelling. Every book a page turner. From Glasgow, I loved the city descriptions. These books would make a brilliant TV series. I will be looking for more of Geoff Small books
