Berserkers, fae, and shifters have abandoned the shadows…
and immersed themselves in the human world. Now, they hold positions in government, medicine, education, and—most spectacularly—professional sports.
The NHL is rebranded the Savage League, and the name couldn’t be more fitting—especially after Elliette Rogan is forced to interview the local team’s hot star forward, Lukas Bakken, the gorgeous berserker wolf who broke her heart.
Of course the bastard acts like she’s invisible. Now that he’s a star, she’s beneath his notice. But what if Lukas is playing defense? What if Elli isn’t the only one guarding her heart?
Pffft. Yeah, right.
Still…a girl can dream.
But when Elli is attacked, Lukas’s berserker nature is piqued, and his true feelings come into sharper focus. There’s more at stake than mere hockey games and wounded pride.
Worse, if they don’t get their history sorted, more than hearts will be broken. These enemies-to-lovers are on an icy collision course with disaster, and there’s no second chance to make things right.

USA Today bestselling author A.S. Green lives in chilly Minnesota and spends the all-too-short summers on Lake Superior, which is the muse for her paranormal and contemporary romances. She writes complex characters, action-packed plots, and snarky in-your-face banter. And, of course, loads of steamy love scenes.
When she's not writing romance, she's probably watching Outlander or pleading (unsuccessfully) with her husband to don the kilt she bought him last summer.

Iced by the Berserker is start of a new paranormal hockey romance series: the Savage League by A.S. Green. A.S. created a world where all paranormal beings have come out to the humans. Everyone co-exists together and have done so close to a century. Paranormals are intertwined in all areas of life that were previously human-based; with sports being very popular for the paranormals. This is also a close...ish proximity, second chance, a bit of suspense & mystery, brother's best friend, years-in-the-making-slow-burn, 3rd act breakup (both of them trying to protect themselves & each other), wolf clan politics ṣtėämƴ romance. Lukas is the beautifully handsome bad boy hockey that has been traded back to the Minnesota Spriggans...back into Elli's life. They have a complicated history which involves Lukas being best friends to Elli's brother Evan, a teenager crush from Elli, crappy Dads for both of them and impactful statements issued that caused a lot of hurt. A.S. masterfully creates a very interesting world to show that paranormals & everything associated with them are now common place, introducing us to the rest of the team and Elli's friends. I am cheering for Lukas & Elli when they finally got together!! 🥰 Will be curious to know if any of A.S. Green's characters from her other books will pop up in this series. (Her paranormal explanation habits, mannerisims and physical descriptions from previous books show in this one.) Looking forward to the next book!
⚠️ Story does end on a mini cliffhanger - not for the couple... for the overall story. A.S. Green did let us know another story will be coming out soon... Netting the Nymph. 😉
...aaaaannnnddd a scene that will live rent free in my mind is when Lukas defends Elli to Daniel in the apartment... 🥵🔥💋

When younger Elliette told Lukas what she wanted but he said no. Then Lukas was traded back the team he started with and she has to follow him around for the team’s media page. She tries to ignore her feelings and Lukas admits that he should never have left her. Elliette caught her boyfriend cheating he moves out to give her time to find a place to live. Lukas is renting the apartment across the hallway, he hurts his shoulder worse than it had been. So his father makes him come back home to be the alpha and take care of the women in the pack. Lukas for all he knew he was a pureblooded wolf berserker. But the lab work shows that he has some human blood so his father beat him, Elliette went the hospital. Lukas was still on the team and they moved in together.

What I really liked about this was the acknowledgement that while shifters may be stronger physically, the human members of the hockey team/Savage League still had the same opportunities for advancement and play time. Having his other half be human, kept Lukas a little more conscious of the discrepancy of strength but also of the enrichment for emotion. Lukas knew that his career may be shorter in duration than he wanted due to familial responsibilities, but he played his heart out and fought against the ropes the entire time.
Elliette is trying to get a job working in marketing for a hockey team. Her brother is on the same team as the one she is trying to get employed with. Her friends are with her at a pre-season game while she compiles information on each player. Iced by the Berserker is a well written story that weaves an amazing storyline with awesome characters. You feel what they feel and you care what happens to them. Grab this read and enjoy! Can’t wait for the next in the series!.

This is an excellent start to the series. Normally, I umm and arr over the first book, but from the get-go when the characters were introduced they were vibrant, fun and vivacious. Elli comes alive on the page and you can’t help but root for her, whilst Lucas is a sexy grump. I love the situations they find themselves in. This is a wonderful story about love and misunderstandings. 5 stars!
Lukas and Elliette's shifter, paranormal, hockey romance is a great start to The Savage League series. The writing is well done and the story has well developed and interesting characters, misunderstandings, mystery, suspense, shifters, romance, and a great ending. Iced by the Berserker is book one in the series, and I can't wait to read the next book. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Uhh I loved this book! The tension and angst was insane with our patient saint of a berserker wolf. Who would have thought Lukas would be so slow at getting his woman but it was worth it! Elli was shy and innocent and it made a whole vibe for the book. I loved it! Give it a read!
