The concept is amazing and has what I'm sure will be a highly captivating plot. The characters are likeable and have exceptional relationships. The spice is tame, and it is a slow book.
What I didn't like is the writing. The style, the errors, the language used. Part of this book felt like it was written by AI, other parts voice to text. There was no consistency with the spelling of the name Michael, and at one stage there was Illanois instead of Elanore.
The flow of the story was a bit clunky and took some working out to do, but I do believe that with some editing, Ivy Thorp will have a future in writing.
