This one snuck past me, didn’t realize I never reviewed this first volume. This series is drawn so well and the story is pretty solid. Loving how dark and gruesome it is and the characters and references they bring in. Supernatural Marvel for the win yet again!

Al no toparme tan fácilmente las fichas de los dos últimos números de la cabecera en Goodreads, pues remato opinión en la de la edición integral... Como llevaba comentando hasta el momento. Me alegra toparme con una nueva cabecera del hombre lobo Marvelita, que bien puede haber generado nuevo interés tras el especial audiovisual en Disney+. El evento de Blood Hunt, ha vuelto a desatar la parcela sobrenatural y monstruosa Marvel, y varios villanos están volviendo a querer valerse de fuerzas diabólicas como el Darkhold o Lilith. En todo esto, nuestro anti héroe lupino que parecía tener un agradecido sosiego, ve como su lado monstruoso se vuelve a cebar con los inocentes. En este nuevo via crucis maldito, Elsa Bloodstone, legendaria cazadora de monstruos, acude en ayuda y consuelo de su amigo y ex pareja sentimental. Ambos deben encarar al Encapuchado, quien se ha aliado con un concilio de vampiros y individuos asociados a la brujería.
Jason Loo comprime en estos números una saga que vuelve a proponer a este hombre lobo como un héroe por derecho propio al que además ya le han salido "sidekicks" de "pelo en pecho" para los que conformar todo un clan lupino que enseñe los colmillos a cualquier ser con intenciones oscuras. En este caso, se acude a esa villana puramente noventera que vio nacer a los Hijos de Medianoche. Algo que queda como un elemento reconocible pero que no lleva a mucho más que el necesitar de la aparición de otro famoso Hechicero del Universo Marvel que actualmente es el gran problemón de todos los grandes héroes de este universo editorial. Werewolf by Night: Red Band, ofrece así un entretenimiento que por lo menos mantiene en el candelero este tipo de personajes que tantas alegrías le dio a Marvel en los 70" pero que durante mucho tiempo posterior han sido maltratados.
El one shot de Derek Landy resulta más apreciable que toda la serie troncal. Al igual que el de Michael Giacchino que directamente parece ofrecer un "remake" de su especial audiovisual con la participación de Man Thing.

A 'relaunch' of Marvel's WBN. This book seems to be more centered on traditional interpretations of lycanthropy; the loss of control that makes the afflicted both victim and killer. Not sure if 'Red Band' is going to be a new group of books, if it is I think that it might be similar to the Vertigo books from DC. Will keep an eye out for future books in the RB group.
