Live Your Best Life with Karan Johar is an Audible Original, developed by Audible, Varun Duggirala, Sol Production; written by Ashwini Samant; directed by Mantra; produced by MnM Talkies; music score by Aditya Pushkarna; theme music by Naozad Patel, sound edited by Shantanu Hudlikar, mixed and mastered by Sound & Vision Studios.
In this audio book like podcast, Karan Johar and other successful people share how they tackle the topics such as self love, relationships, building wealth and their confidence.
While the 'story line' was thin, the experiences shared in the conversations were relatable and inspiring.
I highly recommend for anyone who needs a boost of motivation 💥
This book is for you, if you enjoy Koffee with Karan in a podcast format , talking about topics like love, family, wealth management, self care and wellbeing. A light and fun listening.
I read this as an audio book on Audible, as I enjoy any book that's been narrated by the writer or who the book is about.
What I liked about the book: - I generally enjoy Karan speaking (when he's himself) - He's shared a lot about himself that perhaps he hasn't in other places before - it was endearing and refreshing. - Though I had to bring myself in the zone to listen to the conversations on money as it was a change of pace / content from other chapters, I liked the attempt at holistic growth for one's "best life". - Overall an interesting guest list, many of whose stories I had no idea about. - Easy, mostly fun read, wouldn't have minded more conversations.
What I didn't like about the book:
- why did the conversations / monologue in the beginning of each chapter seem so weird? - the attempt at an organic segue between conversations wasn't needed. - would have liked some info about the guests before they came, rather than I having to do extra work in finding out their story. - didn't particularly care for what the Psychologist / Therapist had to say (this might be biased being a Psychologist myself), but also found Kubra Sait's conversation like meh, though I like her work. - Didn't have to insert "best life" so many times, yes we remember that's what we're talking about.
The format of the book is definitely made for listening and not reading, and worth a listen if you like self-help / Bollywood-esque / Karan Johar's humour-venting kind of stuff.
More of a podcast than an audiobook, but really enjoyable. Karan Johar has spoken of his insecurities before, so what made this fresh and new? He reached out to multiple people for perspective and insights, and advice too. My favourites were Luke Continho, Sushant Divgikr, and Preeti Shenoy. I found myself thinking about the mistakes I make to self-sabotage, or things I could incorporate quietly and simply in my life - especially now :) Interesting thoughts on self-love, modern love and modern marriage too!
Mindfulness in living, but really who else could you be, regardless of your thoughts you are still just and only you and what is the best life and who determines what is best. What did the millions who’ve died live?
Casual, very sweet discussions and words of wisdom & life tips on numerous topics. It’s a series of phone calls so some of the sound isn’t the best and is hard to hear, but lovely overall
