The One That Almost Got Away: A Friends-to-Lovers, Second Chance, Romance Set in London
The One That Almost Got Away
A friends-to-lovers, second chance, slow-burn office romance set in London.
Read for free in Kindle Unlimited!
Gianna Barone has rules. Stay sharp. Stay single. And never, ever fall for the one man who makes you forget both.
When she lands a job at a boutique investment firm, the last thing she expects is to run into Joe Sanders—her university almost-love, now maddeningly grown-up, maddeningly gorgeous… and maddeningly off-limits.
He’s calm, steady, and just as infuriatingly thoughtful as she remembers. She’s chaos in heels. Their past still simmers between them. And working late in a glass-walled office? It’s not exactly helping.
They were always almost something. Now they’re forced to be everything but.
A slow-burn, emotionally tender romance where second chances come dressed in suits, sarcasm, and soft restraint.

I would’ve liked this book with more of a plot. Needed more of a back story.
Everything unfolded wayyy too quickly.
One thing the was left unanswered was who was also in the office when Gia and Joe hooked up for the first time? I fully thought Rory was gonna throw them under the bus for that.
