For Always #3

For Eternity

Rate this book
When Malyn Reed, seer of ghosts, fell in love with one, she knew it wouldn't end well, but when love pleaded with her heart, she was unable to deny it. Falling hard for the sexy, southern gentleman, Beau Brogan, who died in 1910, her already strange life quickly turned into a life she'd never imagined. Filled with love and heartache that would change her... for always.
When Beau Brogan died, left to haunt his homestead for over a century, he thought it was his hell on earth, until Malyn Reed moved in. Stealing the heart that hadn't beat in over one-hundred years, she gave him a new life that he'd never known, even while he was alive. But like his life, their time together came to an untimely end and they were forced to say goodbye... for now.
In this third and final installment of the For Always series, love will be tested in ways that Beau and Malyn aren't prepared for. During the battle of good and evil—Darkness and Light—choices will have to be made and sides taken. Unbeknownst to Beau, one final decision will change everything... for eternity.

This is the last book of Ms. Mitchell's "For Always" series, and now that the series is complete, it's difficult to just talk about the last book. This series was a journey, not only for Mayln, but for Beau and Jace as well. All three of these characters grew throughout the series, and I adored each one. I've also made mention in one of my other reviews about how much I loved Nellie. She's perfectly written and portrayed!

I love that this series has such a Southern feel. Everything from the scenery descriptions, to the food, to the dialog draws you into Danbridge and it's sweet, Southern charm. It really is the perfect setting for this story.

So this third and final installment. Ah, Mayln and Beau. Honestly, I wasn't sure how this one was going to end. The author threw in some surprises in this book, and they left me guessing how it would all turn out. I loved how it ended, though. Dang. I keep writing sentences and deleting them because I don't want to give anything away! But if you love a sweet Southern romance with some great paranormal threads, this is your series!

**This series does need to be read in order. Other than book #1, they are not standalones. Each book builds on the ones before, and if you start on this one or the second one, you'll be utterly confused.

Oh my! Janae Mitchell has outdone herself with this one. For Eternity is her best book yet. Be warned this one is a real tear jerker. It is such an emotional read that I found myself crying from sadness and joy. I am never disappointed when I read one of Janae’s books. She writes with such passion that it seems like she adds a bit of herself into each of her stories. I was quickly drawn into her world with Malyn and Beau. It is like seeing cherished friends that I have missed since the last book. I find myself just falling in love with her characters. I just love watching them grow and evolve. We even get to peer into the future in the epilogue. I was so glad to be able to find out what happens in some the characters lives. It is sad that it is over, but it came together in such a way that I am left feeling fulfilled and happy. I can’t wait to read the spin-off Feels Like Rain.

Malyn is having to deal with life without Beau. She is fighting herself to keep her promise to him, to live her life without him. Jace has changed since his almost drowning and struggles to regains his lost memories. The one thing that hasn’t changed is his feeling for Malyn. Beau is sinking further into the darkness that surrounds him while being preyed upon by his captor and longing for Malyn. He is forced to do things that may be his undoing. But something is coming. One person’s decision will decide it all. When the choice is made it will either save them or send them all into darkness.

This was such a good series overall and this installment was my favorite.
I could have finished this book much earlier in the day but I found myself procrastinating reading the last few chapters.... Not because I wasn't dying to know what happens next, but because I was not ready to say goodbye to this series... Then I found out that there is another book about . And the first chapter is in Malyn's perspective! Yay!
