Separated but not out of the fight.

Gaby has been captured by a familiar figure from her past. Some might take captivity lying down, but they aren't Gaby.

Will and Danny are close on Gaby's trail, but their rescue mission is detoured in a city under siege by a very dangerous new breed of ghouls. The reunited ex-Army Rangers will face their toughest fight yet if they want to get out alive.

Back on Song Island, Lara prepares for an impending attack. She receives unexpected assistance from a man named Keo, an ex-mercenary with his own agenda.

Meanwhile, the survivors' radio broadcast has elicited surprising responses from around the globe. It might be the start of a resistance against the ghoul domination...if Lara can keep everyone alive long enough.

Where The Purge begins, the Gates hold, and the Stones crumble, the Fires will burn...

Too much already

After reading the first books, it's getting old , all the continuous battles, horrific wounds that never slow the heroes down, the women always beautiful etc... How about a book with an ending and a real story line, not sequel after sequal that repeats the same battles over and over again. I have no interest in continuing reading this series, let the ghouls win and be done with it

I know I am being repetitive, but how many ways can one say "AMAZING"! Every time I open the next book I am afraid I will somehow be disappointed because, REALLY, how can any author keep a story line going this long without compromising somehow? But NO, this series continues to keep me emotionally invested and on the edge of my seat with every book! With Fires, I read up to 95% and put it down. I could not open it to finish for hours because it was SO intense and I did not want to leave these characters that I have grown to LOVE, in such dire circumstances! Sam, Sam, Sam.....keep it going! And for those who have not tried this series....what are you waiting for?

Dear Sam,
We've hung out four times now and I've had a lot of fun killing ghouls with you! You've introduced me to all of your friends and I've enjoyed hanging out with them and laughing at their silly jokes. You really know how to show a girl a good time! I was a little upset with how we left things in Atlantis, however. I mean you kept hinting about a party on the island so I got all dressed up and put my best silver heeled ghoul killing boots on and I waited for the festivities to being. And I waited. Sigh. I hope that you weren't just leading me on....

These are JUST good enough to keep me from giving up on the series. There are a few characters I am into and a few I could not care less about. Some of the writing and descriptions makes me roll my eyes and some of it is much better.

Good Edition...but...

The Cliffhanger sucked. As in really, really sucked. Ergo, the three stars instead of five. Much gets done in this part, but for some reason, it seemed shorter compared to the first books. The action and interactions are on par with the earlier books, and the way characters are introduced only to be killed is getting kind of...tiresome. But it's understandable. This is a post apocalyptic world. Tomorrow is never guaranteed, not when the night comes.

This series is not for the faint of heart. High adrenaline and action packed, you never know what's going to happen to a character, each of which is fully fleshed out (even the ones that are killed off in the next page). Will and Danny continue to shine, their dialogue providing comic relief in even the most stressful situations. Definitely a great series to read, despite the obvious re-use of scenarios from previous books.

Maybe a bit convoluted but

still a five as to mesh the characters with a new direction has challenged seasoned authors. I've enjoyed each book in the series and am impressed that he has keep each a page Turner. it's two in the morning. I've spent the evening til now reading and don't feel I've wasted a minute.

I Wonder

Not to take anything from you Sam because to write so many books with so much action in each is remarkable and though I wish I could I don’t have the patience. I wonder though why you didn’t have the survivors do more damage in the daytime. I mean they could recognize the nests by the covered windows why not use those demolition balls to knock down roofs and expose them to the sun or something! Use the the C-4 or at the very least shoot out the barriers from the outside. Some where just blankets. Also why didn’t they use more of the trailers in the early days like Folger! Anyway just spitballing for the series I still know someone will want to make one day. I mean these books are some of the best action reading I’ve read ever so it would be a travesty not to make at least a movie! This is my 3 rd time reading and I find new things I missed each time!❤️😘

The wild ride continues!!

Continuing phenomenal series. One of the best in the military apocalypse genre. I want to put the series in the category with zombies, but it really does not fit at all. Other than the creatures being the infected undead. Springing from that base is a creature much more diverse than your garden variety zombie. With lots of room for growth, learning more about the creatures as we go, and crazy twists and turns.
If I have to complain about one thing it would concern a certain young character. Who is supposedly mad skilled and super savvy, yet finds herself in the same shitty situation time and again....and again. It gets a bit old. After awhile you just want to see her succeed!
Overall however -- fantastic book. As usual, I can't wait to start reading the next one!

I'm reading this series for the second time because of the newer series that have come out to continue the stories from this one. I let some things slide the first time I read these but am now noticing that there are some annoying things that he does in these books. The two that stand out is that the dialogue is very quipy and not just in combat but in normal conversations. I would understand if it was a handful of characters but this is almost every character. The other thing that bothers me is the jumping back in time to explain where characters came from when it could have been that either nothing happens or that it is explained through exposition.

I still enjoy these books but some of the issues have become more glaring with a second pass.

I don't want this series to ever end

When I began this series, I was skeptical; I love dystopias, but I like them to be unique and the zombie kind of creatures have been done so often. As I've read each of the books so far, I've fallen in love with all the characters. Character development is my hot button in books and the author does a great job of it with both the good guys and the bad. What makes a 5 star dystopia for me is the feeling that 'omg I could totally see that happening' - and so far it hasn't done that for me. But I'm still loving it and who knows; maybe when \if I learn more about how the creatures came to exist it will move from a solid 4 star to a 5 star in my mind. Meanwhile I just want to keep reading the series forever!

The Beat Goes On with Blue Devils Calling the Tune

This book moves a little slower than the others until the last third when our protagonists keep fighting off the regular ghoulS and the blue eyes super ghouls More peripheral characters die and our hero's barely survive with pain and broken bodies. And they have to get to the island and beat off another invasion of the bad guys. Can't wait to read the next book

Okay, I’m going to stop here. The others book were interesting but at the same time. I kept skipping chapters because, ugh
But then the whole Lara thing, no way. She has done nothing. Mother to earn the trust of anyone on their group. It was always will and Danny and now everyone wants to put their life at risk for her. No way. All she did was have sex with Will and complains and wines and omg, I started skipping her parts because it was so, pointless.

Another great installment in the series! I read some reviews complaining about the repetitiveness, and I don't agree. it's repetitive in the way that the walking dead repetitive. it's the end of civilization as art know it, there are ghouls and there are bad people... not to many options for storylines here. I think sisavath does a great job writing interesting stories and keeping me hooked!

THE FIRES OF ATLANTIS (THE PURGE-4)

One of a the few series that I will recommend to another reader. I admit that I couldn't put this story down! Everytime I thought "I'll only read up to such and such percent" I passed that percent way up everytime! I can't wait to start the next book in the series 📚

More like 3.5 rating, the focus at this point is more on pursuit and discovery than it has been irreverent wisecracks. This change and the addition of a few new characters made reading more enjoyable. Even so, the smart-ass cracks that continue throughout could be toned down to make the story more enjoyable.

I absolutely love the Purge of Babylon series and this installment doesn't disappoint. Sam Sisavath's writing often has me on the edge of my seat, literally squirming as the ensemble cast makes its way through a post-apocalyptic world. The only problem is that this book often had me staying up well past my bedtime because I just couldn't put it down!

Like the three previous books, I simply couldn’t put this book down. Danny, Will, Lara, Gaby, Kate, and Josh are such amazing characters. Mr. Sisaveth is a very talented author and I will read the rest of this series and his others as well. Hours of entertainment are enclosed between the covers. I’ve read each book in two days each and these aren’t short stories.

Still good!

I like the development of the story, the fact that it's not static but instead evolving book by book. The only thing I can say I like a little less is the fact that certain characters (not the main ones) are a little bit underdeveloped, we don't read much about them except bits and pieces from time to time.

Non-stop action, thrills and plenty of shooting and romance this book has it all.

I liked this book, couldn't put it down til it was done. Let Keo and Gaby hang around a long time, love these characters. Still don't like Lara and Claire.

What a series! The writing is truly contagious, if that is the proper use of the word. And if it isn't, so what. A true page turner of a new genre of bloodsucker novels. What did they do to Harrison? Will Kate have to give up? only some of the questions I have for this author.

Wow wow and more wow

I keep thinking that they can't get any better but each one is even better than the previous ones. I am loving this series. This book was spectacular a d full of action. The author manages to keep the story going full blast all the way to the end. Great read!

I’m hooked. I have to keep reading if for no more reason than the age old question, how does it all end.
