I write steamy paranormal romance, particularly vampire and shifter/werewolf right now. Check out my two free series starters, Life Blood and Taken. :)

I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.

In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.

My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.

Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!

Lovely yet steamy, romantic story.
I love the relationship between the main characters. Cora seemed mature enough to accept her place as Dorian's cognate (wife) and understands that in marrying the guy not only her life will never be the same but new threats will always arise. Dorian of course is her charming protector that will do everything within his power (and beyond) to make her happy and keep her safe. However when Cora attempts to reconcile her new and old life she realizes it may be much harder and dangerous than she initially thought.
It's an easy and fast read with its own charm and its own take on vampires. You may want to read the previous series (Cora's Choice 1-6) to fully appreciate this story a bit better but I don't think it's absolutely necessary. This story in itself explained everything I needed to know and I didn't feel lost at all. Admittedly it started a bit slow but the whole story certainly does not disappoint... except at the end... I so hate cliffhangers like this one! But I won't complain because I knew what I was getting myself into when I started the story and I will definitely be getting my hands on the whole series because I want to know how it all started.

Modern Vampire!

I love the combination of old world and modern world where Vampires aren't what they used to be. I read the first of Cora's Choice, and enjoyed it very much, but never read the continuing books. That's alright because I can imagine from this book that it wasn't easy going for Cora and Dorian.

They are together, Cora is back at school and Dorian is planning their upcoming wedding which will be an event the Vampire Heriarchy has never seen. Dorian will spare no expense to show his love to Cora and to all, Ally and Foe.

There is someone out there that wants to destroy all that Dorian has achieved and Cora seems to be the means to this end.. There are very dark forces at work here. Will Dorian be able to protect his one true love from this evil?

Look forward to reading the next story in Cora Bond.

I read this right after I was done with all of Cora's Choice I can honestly say that Cora really pissed me off with her complaining and going back and forth. However with this new arc she is starting to fully accept her bond with Dorian and the threats to her life has not ceased. She is not as whiny about her situation in this new arc thankfully. I wish I had me a Dorian. Cora and Dorian comes back from the Caribbean and she has been receiving threatening letters. She is about to start her final semester and her wedding date is looming closer. However someone doesn't want her to be happy with her newly bonded vampire and the stakes are rising. Can she be able to have her old world back and her new world? Or will they collide?

this was sent to me by the author for a honest review

So now we have Cora trying to mix her old life with her new life and things didnt seem to go too well as she hoped. Not so much as them mixing but the danger that is always following her now with her new life. Still enjoying this fun and unique world and of course the ending had me wanting more very anxious to see how she over comes the new threat..

She brought her sexy vampire back. <3 Her books are so comfortable and enjoyable. You can depend on this author delivering the hits. You just want to curl up with a warm blanket and a nice drink. (Hey I got tea here!) Ms. Black is a very talented author. Her sex scenes will blow your mind. She makes THIS reviewer keep eagerly coming back for more.

Ack! Now that I've caught up and the story is getting good, I have to wait till October! This is why serials frustrate me....

The evolution of this series has been very good so far. I found it started a little slow (Cora's Choice,#1-6), and stumbled around a bit but now (Cora's Bond), has found its legs and is showing a lot of promise.

Love this series. The author does such a good job of exploring the character's weaknesses and strengths. Then pushes them outside of their comfort zone. The world she imagines feels so real. I hooked!

Oh my sweet goodness was this book amazing or what?!?! Thank goodness I got an ARC for this, because I've even dying for this book ;) ever since I saw the cover and read the summary, I've been wanting to read it, and I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review, so let's begin!!!

Engagement with the Vampire.... That's basically the whole point of the story... Now for a short and brief summary:

Cora Shaw was bonded to the billionaire vampire Dorian Thorne once by blood and again by choice. Forced to flee when her life was threatened, they now return to America...

Cora, to her final semester in college and her wedding plans, and Dorian, to his businesses and research.

Cora struggles to make her two lives work; she has an ordinary one, with its demands of college and friends; and the extraordinary one, full of the frightening depths and challenges of her relationship with Dorian and the hidden and deadly dangers of his world.

Wow. This book was AMAZING!!! I'm not Rey fond with vampire novels, but I wanted to give this one a shot since I was asked nicely and given a copy, how can I refuse?

This book has everything you would want on a book. A strong female protagonist, paranormal beings, suspense, romance, action, mystery, nail biting moments, unexpected moments, etc etc... You get the picture.

The point is, once this book comes out, GO AND GET IT!!! ITS WORTH IT!!!! I'm recommending this book to you! Read. it.

That is all...

I have never read a serial before and may I say, I will be reading this one. I unfortunately read this book and not the first set, Cora's choice, but kudos to the author who did a wonderful job of filling in the blanks so that it did not take away from the story, but whet my appetite enough that I intend to read Cora's Choice.

This serial is the first in the Cora's bond. It pulled me in immediately and captured me all the way through the end. Cora is a college student who was dying of cancer. Dorian Thorne an agnate wanted to find a way to find the other half of himself a cognate. He did so by finding those willing to undergo tests and found a way to join the agnates of the world to their perfect match. With the vampires kiss he cured Cora and after a tumultuous beginning this book starts with them returning, engaged, and working on their bond. Cora wants to maintain her normal life and finish school to maintain her individual self even though it could place her in great danger. Dorian loves her enough to let her do this. It leaves the field open as one enemy who tried twice to eliminate Cora is still on the lose, and their may be more enemies.

The author does a wonderful job portraying an alpha male who is powerful, but real and whose darkness is intriguing. The emotions and depth of the characters are very well done, not feeling to wordy or needy. I have found my first serial to delve into gladly.

This new set of books telling about Cora and Dorian's relationship feels a little different, they feel real now, like they are truly in love and she no longer has doubts about that. She may have doubts about other things in their relationship but now the love between the two of them. This book starts off with them returning from the trip they took together to get away from it all, to spend some serious time together getting to know each other. Right from the start of this book you could feel the difference, how close they were and how neither of them really wanted to return. I did not like that Lisette was against them getting married without even knowing Dorian and then she was back on this whole Geoff thing, they had only gone out twice but Lisette kept pushing her to be with him, not sure why. The sex scenes were hot as ever in this book and the chemistry between Cora and Dorian was stronger then ever. Why she wanted to speak to Cosimo's cognate I did not really understand, she was an angry woman. I liked how Dorian was with her friends but I hated that their time was cut short. The action in these books is always good, it livens them up some, even though I love the sex scenes it is nice when there is more to a book like action and drama and seeing their lives day to day.

Cora struggles to make her two lives work but it isn’t easy when they are so different and becomes impossible when Dorian’s world is one of hidden and deadly dangers in this captivating first installment of Cora’s Bond.

Cora’s finally accepted her place at Dorian’s side as the depth of emotions that she feels for him is consuming and the desires burn hotter than ever with some sizzling sex scenes but everything is far from perfect because someone is still out to stop Dorian which places Cora in a very precarious position. These strong compelling characters have demanded my attention from the very beginning and as the story progresses, they demand more and the fast paced and smooth flowing plot keeps readers hovering on the edge of anticipation with lots of suspense and passion and of course exciting thrills from their enemies as the danger progresses. The well written scenes and details bring the story to life and the fascinating world continues to draw the reader in and ensures that they come back for more. I can’t wait to find out what happens next, especially after that exciting cliffhanger.

Let me premise this by saying that the book is written as a series of books about the bond formed between Dorian(vampire) and his human love interest Cora. It picks up where the first series left off. The trend I have been seeing many authors do is to release these short novellas. Personally I don't mind too much if the story is good. When it's not and I have invested time and money half way through the series I become unhappy. If you do not like this, then maybe this series is not for you. However you will be missing out on some enjoyable reading!

The characters Ms. Black has created I find enjoyable. Cora is a bit annoying on the onset of the book, but by the end I think she has finally realized the risks involved in choosing to try and live two separate lives. Dorian is patient with her and I am loving him more and more. It will be interesting to see where Ms. Black takes us next. And I am definitely interested!

Cora and Dorian have just returned from a beautiful three week Caribbean cruise, engaged and the bond strengthen. It’s now time to face reality, Cora must return to college for her last semester, and try to convince her protective friends to be happy for her, engaged to a man they have never met. She must also be separated from Dorian for the first time in almost a month. Cora desperately wants her two worlds to mesh somehow so as to maintain her individuality, her humanity and to not to be submerged by Dorian’s control and power, but being away from Dorian means being away from his protection to a degree (they are of course guards stationed with her) but no one can protect her as Dorian can and with danger around every corner, a known enemy still on the loose who knows what will happen next. This story was filled with excitement, drama, danger and very steamy sexual scenes. I can’t wait to read the next book. This series is addictive!
I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest opinion.

This is the first book in a new series. I highly recommend you begin with the Cora’s Choice Vampire Series to get all the background leading up to this series. You don’t have to but it gives you more details on what’s happening in this series. Cora Shaw and Dorian Thorne arrive back from their Caribbean cruise so that Cora just before her college term starts. They are learning how to get along as a human and her vampire. Cora goes back to her college dorm and Dorian to his home but they realize they have gotten used to being together. Dorian meets her college friends and they start planning a wedding. She has to decide whether she can continue living a college life and a life with her vampire. This is actually a short book which will continue over several books so if you don’t like a serial, this might not be for sure. I’m not fond of them but I have to say this is a really good series. I can’t wait to get the next one.

ANOTHER GREAT V.M.BLACK STORY..CONTINUING CORA STORY...LOVE VAMPIRES...YOU WILL LOVE ALL CORA STORIES
**************** I WAS GIVEN THIS FOR HONEST REVIEW AND THIS IS MY HONEST OPINION **************
This continues the story of Cora (a student dying of cancer) and Dorian (a vampire billionaire) who loves her and heals her with a bite. They go back to America so Cora can continue getting her degree, planning her wedding, trying to combine her two worlds (her normal human life and her new vampire bond with Dorian and his world, so different from hers) and Dorian continues his business and protect Cora from who or whatever is threatening her. This is a shorter read but shows Cora maturing and excepting that she does love Dorian and he loves her. this has some of everything, suspense, intrigue, action, mystery, danger, romance, love and HOT< STEAMY SEX SCREENS . AND OVER 18 READS. I can't wait for the next one.

Cora and Dorian have just returned from a beautiful three week Caribbean cruise on his private yacht, but now they must face the reality of college for her, Dorian's work, and his need to protect her from the dangers of the vampire life she has agreed to as well as plan a wedding in the grand vampire style. Cora desperately wants to finish her degree, try to keep her friends, and not be subsumed by Dorian's control and their bond. As with the first series, danger, intrigue, and Cora's struggle to understand and accept her bond with Dorian continue to be major themes in this first installment. The one thing she knows is that it is harder and harder to be away from her fiance and, now it seems, a normal life is a fleeting dream.

am giving this review for author V.M. Black. This is part 1 of the Cora's Bond series by the author.

Newly engaged Cora is settling into the beginning of her next semester in college but danger is still lurking around her and ready to attack. Dorian doubles the men around Cora when someone leaves a note on the yacht. He will do anything to keep her safe.

I love how the author pulls you into this story from the start. Cora and Dorian are 2 interesting characters and so different but they mesh together and their interaction with the other characters is great.

This read has sexual content so it is for mature paranormal romance book readers. I can't wait to read part 2 of this series by the author. WAY YO GO V M BLACK!

I have to say that this was a definite twist on the relationships between Vampire and Human. Our author uses the terms Agnates and Cognates to describe their relationship and it has a deeper meaning then just being mated. The bonding of our characters is not an easy process, there seems to be several things trying to intervene. First we have an a vampire who is making compromises to let his bonded Cognate complete her dreams. Next we have several Agnates and other unknown entities trying to scare, kidnap and even kill to stop their union. Now factor in our Cognte's human friends that think she is making rash decisions and you have a highly complicated relationship. This was a quick read with an interesting storyline that is filled with excitement, drama and some hot sex.

As the story picks up from the ending of Cora's Choice Book 6, Dorian and Cora return from a trip to the Caribbean. Cora is set on trying to maintain two separate lifestyles--one as a college student and one as the cognate to the enigmatic Dorian Thorne.

Just as before, Ms. Black continues to weave this tapestry that is the story of Cora Shaw and Dorian Thorne. It is exciting and leaves you wanting for more. I am really enjoying this series and I recommend it as one that you should definitely read. You will not be disappointed.

I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest opinion.

Um, wow! This was a fantastic continuation of Dorian and Cora's story. Cora has accepted her place by Dorian. Gone is the wishy, washy, whiny Cora...thank goodness! She loves Dorian and Dorian loves her. They practically worship each other. I love it!

With her change in attitude and acceptance comes the continuation of danger. Who is behind it? I'm sure we'll have the answers in time. I still think we haven't seen the last of Geoff. I'm just waiting for him to make another appearance. As always, I'm all for Dorian. Dang, I'll never look at ice chips the same way.

I definitely recommend this book!!!

I enjoyed this first installment of the story.

Cora is back at school, and finds another mysterious threatening note. Though she's concerned she can't let it keep her from living life. In this installment, Cora's friends meet Dorian and learn of their engagement.

Dorian is trying to find out who is trying to hurt Cora and keep her safe, while letting her continue on with her life and complete school.

For All Time has just enough suspense to keep you guessing as the story proceeds. While the story is not complete, there is not an evil cliff hanger.

Can't wait to read more and watch Cora and Dorian find their happiness.

I just loved this. I haven't read any of the books that led to this series but aside from a few references, I had no problem understanding everything going on. This is a very unique story that is full of suspense and not too many love stories have that added bonus. It keeps you on the end of your seat and unable to walk away from your reader. This is very well written and I cannot wait for the second part. I am so pleasantly surprised by this author, since this is only the second time I have read her work. I will be fixing that in the future. She is very quickly being added to one of my favorites.

Dorian and Cora disembark after a thoroughly dramatic cruise. Cora is still trying to complete school and establish her independence from Dorian during the week. There's much more emotional angst in this installment than previous chapters and it kind of bothers me that Cora worries more about how her friends will perceive her relationship than what is actually happening between her and Dorian and the ensuing drama that follows them. And by actually writing that it shows me how vested in this series I've become. I can wholeheartedly recommend this author. I've enjoyed everything of hers I've read and I am absolutely loving this series.

Better than the original series

The only reason I think this series is better than the original is because Cora does not act that much as a spoiled brat as she did in the previous versions. She still has some small moments, but they are miniscule. Overall, the story keeps progressing. The cost ed $.99 much better than the other books in the series, but I wish it was included in the kindle unlimited program. I also wish it was included as a bundle like the other part of the series. In addition, I am still aggravated that this is an additional series and was not included in the original bundle, particularly for the price paid.

V.M. Black does it again! Another addictive, steamy, emotional and captivating must read. As with the Cora's Choice series, For All Time: Cora's Bond is an intense and incredible story that is skillfully written, intriguing, unique and a little on the dark side.

V.M. Black writes stories with characters that stay with you long after you are done reading. To see the relationship between Dorian and Cora develop throughout this series is great. They conquer obstacle after obstacle and come out stronger. And the sex scenes... intense, passionate and so very hot.
