GAMES OF FIRE BY AIRICKA Sophie has enough problems in her life without Spencer turning her blood to fire, without his eyes freezing and burning her, without his hatred of her. Since his migration into the house next to hers, Sophia Valdez isn’t sure whether she wants to toss him under a bus or kiss that smirking mouth of his. But even as the temperature rises around them, leaping flames of passion, want and desire, everything either has ever known will be shattered by the lurking shadow hounding their every step, wanting revenge.
Spencer Rowth moves to the sleepy town of River Port with his mother and twelve year old sister, Suzy, to escape a deceitful father, an unfaithful girlfriend and a life crumbling much too fast for him to grapple onto only to be smacked upside the head by the last thing he wanted again. Sophie was everything he refused to want. Her temper, her wit, her laugh, her smile, the way her entire body goes up in flames under his hands are things he would rather slam a lid on and forget. Instead, he finds himself falling for the smart-mouth next door. But how long will he have before the evil chasing them catches up? How long before the very thing he never wanted becomes his only thread to sanity? And who is after them? What do they want and why do they want Spencer and Sophie dead?

Blind Barries 4/5 Stars: I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. Love, love, love this cover! I also loved this short story! There was a lot of mystery to it and I was left craving answers but never got them.hopefully the next book will be full length because I got to the end much too quickly and I didn't want it to be over. It wasn't even a cliff hanger, the book just stopped abruptly, and right when it was getting good. I did enjoy how we got the story from the two main characters POV's so we didn't miss out on anything. I found both Lark and Raven to be intriguing characters and I can't wait to learn how their stories will entwine with each other. I want to know what happened to Lark. Does Raven know? Does Raven pretend to be Lark or vies versa? There are so many possibilities and I can't wait to find out. Another awesome read by Sophie Davis and despite blind barriers being short it packed a punch?I can't wait for the next instalment. Contemporary readers will love this novella also those who enjoy a great mystery read. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the second book in the Blind Barriers Serial by the amazing author Sophie Davis that i have been able to read. I love this series because it is one big bag of mystery. I want these novellas to be longer because right when the story picks up and gets interesting, it ends. So basically I need book three ASAP!! Much like book one, Courting Chaos manages to mesh two different characters POV's flawlessly. I need to know what happens. I will absolutely be continuing with this series, I need to know what happened to Lark. I would recommend these novellas to mystery readers. I received this book free from the author in exchange for an honest review. I love this cover! Purple is my favourite colour and the girl is gorgeous in an old time, regal way. I like this instalment in the serial because we finally get a bit of what is going on with Lark, not a lot, but enough to speculate. This on didn't have too much about Raven, when it was her 'parts" it was her mostly reading Lark's journal. I'm really enjoying this "onion" of a story, I love peeling back the layers and learning more but also being left even more curious about what is to come. I would recommend these serials to those looking for a good mystery, suspense story.
Games of Fire 4/5 Stars: I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This is the first book by Airicka Phoenix that I have read at this time, although I do own a few of her other books but haven't had time to delve into them quite yet. I really loved reading Games of Fire. It kept me engaged and it was filled with surprises. My only issue was I had already guessed the biggest secret after the first few chapters, so when I actually got to it I was a little disappointed just because it was a bit predictable. Otherwise this was a great read. I really liked reading about Sophie and what she was dealing with. I found her to be very likable but she was easily made to second guess herself and her feelings. Spencer stole the show for me with his hotness and his love for Sophie, but sometimes he came off a little strong. And if I didn't know any better he could have became a villian quite easily. Suzy was the character that I couldn't quite grasp. She was absent, then appear for just enough time to put ideas in Sophie's head, then disappear again. I found that rather strange. The only other thing that I wished would have been included would be more information on the missing girls. It felt like it had been popped in and not explored to it full potential. This was a great book to read and I would recommend it to all YA lovers and to those readers who love suspense. I will definitely be keeping my eye on Airicka Phoenix to read more of her great work.
