Darkness. Obsession. Madness. They’re determined to corrupt me. They want me to kneel.
They’re savages playing a game they won’t win.
I’m the only angel ever birthed outside the Celestial Plane. Nature’s loophole. My family sees me as a miracle. Others see me as an abomination. And some view me as a weapon.
What I really am is an outcast. For the last few years, I’ve been toeing the line and keeping my head down at Maven Academy. But at the start of my final year, everything changes. Three ruthless nightmares thrust themselves into my life. And they refuse to release me from their obsessive grip. Kai Hunter – a Sorcerer with an elite legacy to live up to, he’s calculating and controlled. He buries his damage and obsession beneath his polished wunderkind exterior. Vorzyr Titanus – a Dragon Shifter who is the heir to a formidable empire. Dominance and destruction blaze through his veins. He was born to conquer, and he craves doing the same to me. His thirst for power and his dark desire for me collide dangerously. Nyx Laryn – an Incubus, he’s all lust and smiles on the surface. But beneath, he’s sin and shadow, embroiled in twisted torment.
I’ve spent my life repressing my abilities and holding onto control with a white-knuckle grip. But the three of them challenge that at every turn. It threatens to awaken a thirst for freedom in me, an intense need to abandon control. With external forces closing in around us—a dangerous group creating hybrids with their demented experiments, the True Celestials threatening to rip me away from all I’ve ever known—everything is on the line.
I always feared I was a harbinger of destruction. But with what’s coming, this abomination may be the only thing standing in the way of utter devastation. It’s time to finally discover whether I’m a savior or a destroyer.
This is a Dark Paranormal Academy Reverse Harem Romance with scenes of M/M. The story concludes in MANTLE.
Leia writes edgy and emotional stories in Dark Reverse Harem Romance. She enjoys crafting flawed heroes with a dark side and strong women who hold their own.
I don't mind dub-con, but this particular combination of sexual blackmail and degradation (whore, slut, etc.) just reads like some conservative's closeted fantasies to help them feel less guilty about sexual pleasure. "It was okay if she enjoyed it because she really had no other choice..." *eyeroll*
And to come crashing into the story with that right off the bat, no real character development yet, despite there being a whole lot of characters introduced, and no investment into the world? Nah. Pass.
I’ll be honest, this didn’t read reverse harem to me at all. This was a poly romance, full stop. I don’t mind poly but I wish it was honest about that aspect. I like reverse harems bc they typically revolve around the woman specifically, it’s her harem. Even with side quests or relationships they tend to usually focus on the FMC. This book didn’t focus on the main character as much as the blooming romance bt literally everyone, which again, I don’t mind but it wasn’t what I expected or was wanting for the type of book it was.
There was also an odd focus on anal? Not to spoil anything but it was over half the book before our FMC was given any oral or anything beyond aggressive anal. Just odd to have all that before literally any other type of sex.
Also a lot of O-ing from literally nothing just him finishing? Idk wasn’t very female pleasure focused at all if that makes sense. Very graphic M/M and the M/F read very similar to the M/M scenes bc of that, minus throwing in the fact she had a cl*t.
Idk if this review makes any sense but if you want a poly romance that absolutely doesn’t slack on M/M and has more of that then any focus on the woman of the harem, this is the book for you!
I didn't read Immortal Burden before this series. It seems it's a must if one is to care about this series. There are a lot of characters being thrown at us readers and a sort of "catch up" to what we should supposedly already know. That's just one of the things that put me off.
The other was starting the story with smut. I'm not a fan of MM, it does nothing for me. I also didn't know these characters, so skipping from chapter 1. Not good.
The semi-con that rolled in next made it hard to even give this book the benefit of the doubt that it would be worth a read.
Maybe it's just me but I need a story to be engaging from the start. When I start skipping, I lose interest.
Save me from this cliche piece of shit asshole character. The birthday bathroom scene less than 10% into the book was disgusting. Kai has no redeeming qualities. None!
20% in and this motherfucker Kai hits us with another degrading sex scene. Why so much anal? Why is this completely beyond powerful woman letting this fucker treat her like shit? It’s not sexy degradation, it’s this guy hates women degradation.
Absolutely no character building, just hateful dub-con sex. Is sex via blackmail still dub-con? It feels straight up rapey to me, but don’t worry, she gets off on it, because powerful women love eating cold cum and licking their pussy juices off the tile wall of a shower. Fuck off! Why are so many books like this? I just don’t vibe with it at all.
I’m gonna DNF at 20%, hope I can finally find a decent book next.

I had to actually sit back and really think about this review. It's a good series. Just have some things that throw you out of the story REPEATEDLY. 4🎖for world building. Leia King did a great job with the world building. Even at the academy, the description made you really feel like you were at an academy. 4🎖for imagination and originality! 3🎖for spice. There is a lot of sex in this series. It is OVER THE TOP! Some of it before realtionships are even formed. Dark and degrading. It felt as if the author thinks she had to add all that in to catch a readers attention from the start of book 1. Personally, I am more into stories with a good plot and some spice on the side. 4🎖for characters. The characters were great. Each original and you can easily tell who is who just off of their dialog and actions. I loved the different POV. I do think our FMC should have shined more. She needed more action scenes showing off that she was a bad a**. Part of the story was her coming into her own. Accepting who she is and being free to be who she is. But yet she was still being held back by politics and others' fear. Her abilities were not explored enough. She was outshined by Kai and V. Furthermore, as the plot progressed and her parents' story unfolded, it felt like this series was a sequel to their story. I felt like i missed a series before this series. One that I needed to read for a better understanding of the Celestials and the magical artifacts used in this series. 4🎖 for the plot. The plot was good. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 is because some of the action sequences were over too quickly. Like as if the author doesn't know how to write action scenes. Furthermore, book 3 felt rushed. But that plot twist thrown in was nice! 2🎖 for writing style. This is where the whole series threw me off. Have you ever watched Power Rangers? Or something similar where the villain has to give his villainous spiel? EVERY SINGLE TIME? Well....the good guys do that in this series.
Examples.... "I can use my Primal Celestial Resonance ability to stop him!" "With V’s Primal Celestial Resonance, he could also eliminate the Celestial element so that if anyone is struck with it, it won’t inflict a Celestial wound.”
I swear before all that's Holy! I felt like if I had to read Primal Celestial Resonance ONE MORE TIME I was going to throw my whole device against the wall! (Notice I did not say stop reading the series!) It was like the author felt she had to remind us of the characters' abilities every time something happened or was being planned!!!!
Example.... "Vorzyr, assist with your more ancient-based Dracoryn magical knowledge and cover him." “I can hold off the monster’s dragon fire with my own. I’ll transform, using my dragon hide to protect myself against the Hellfire if he uses the sword again.”
It was all beyond irritating. By the 10th time the abilities are explained, I am pretty sure we readers got it. We would have understood if we read... "V can stop them!" Instead of having to read..... "V can use his Primal Celestial Resonance, and that will do such and such, thus causing such and such which will stop such and such enabling such and such." It literally caused me to put the series down a couple of times. But guess what? I picked it back up again the next day and at the end of the day, I think that is what matters and counts. All in all, I would recommend this read and I will read Leia King again.
DNF 50%. What if this bs ? Thanks god I didn’t try reverse Harem for the first time with this terrible book. 8% : already having sex If that’s not saying it all ? Terrible character development, pick me girls and poor her she is the most powerful angel but rather be treated like shit because she have a dark side ? Some cliche sentence thrown here and there, one disgusting overpowering dude that’s apparently obsessed with her and all of the sudden make his move and an other white knight for some terrible « jealousy somehow story . The succubus almost felt like the main character and does not bring anything to the story. No back story , a lot of characters I am shocked how bad it was. 50% nothing is happening so far. 5 sex scenes that I skipped because disturbing and not at all relevant to anything in a story. Bless yourself and skip this story
This took me from June to October to read. 3 stars feels too generous. This is probably more of a 2.5 rounded up. While the sex scenes are SUPER dirty, nasty, and appeal to my freaky side, the plot and character development left a lot to be desired. Not much happens here besides 4 supernatural folks developing sexual relationships with each other and I guess going to school.
I despise cliffhanger endings every bit as much as I generally enjoy this author. I’m interested in the plot. I like the characters. I waited for the third book to be released before I started this series, so I can get past the ending as long as this is really a trilogy and not another misrepresentation by Amazon. I have no problem with explicit sex scenes, but the degradation kink and name calling is a serious turn off for me. You should either be sure that you can deal with it, skip those scenes, or skip this series.
The parts of the book that were actual story were pretty darn good, although it could definitely use some editing. However, there was way way too much extra, unnecessary stuff. I don’t need to know all the intricacies of each and every person’s outfit, or each and every new location’s paragraphs of detail. It’s too much for me. I felt like we opened the story up with a whole pedigree of her relatives without even knowing who they were or what their personalities were like. Just get to the story please, that was worth reading.
Barely a 3, but the character development further on saved it. I was so close to DNF even after reading about half the book. The degradation angle came in too fast and graphic and Kai seemed like a monster. The idea that he said she needed it to come out of her cocoon just showed the emotional immaturity we were dealing with. The book took a 180• turn after about 60% in making Ariana smarter and the characters more engaging emotionally. Good cliffhanger. I want to continue with the series but if it starts going off the rails early on, it’s a pass on the rest of it.
Plot: 4/5 • Smut: 5/5 ————> I feel like I waited forever for this to be released and it was well worth the wait. I loved every moment of Ariana and her three guys. Especially Kai. Idk what it was about him, but he holds a special place in my heart for him. There’s so much to unpack. Ariana really tries to find herself in this first book, even if she really, really doesn’t want to. So. much. good. smut. so much. Made me so happy. So much MM too. It was all in good fun. A+.
8% read. The dirty talk is so corny and cringy. Prediction: This is going to be a long read...
... I was right. That was brutal. The way the characters talk was scripted and unnatural. There was also a heavier focus on sex than I was expecting, and it just didn't seem like it fit the story.
I will say it did better towards the end with the way the characters spoke towards each other, but not enough to continue the series.
This might be your thing, but it sure as heck is not mine. If you’re into disgusting cr@p being inflicted on another with NO consent (yeah, not even dubious), then by all means, read. If you can make it past the bathroom scene at the birthday party, then you have a stronger stomach than me. If this is your kind of thing, more power to you. I am pretty open minded, have lived the lifestyle, so it takes a lot to make me back the heck away.
So I had a hard time reading this. While I actually like that age sorta had her head on straight. I am confused as to how she was all insecure about her power. Yet at moments it seemed like she had absolute control of it and every aspect around her. In fact she seemed more knowledgeable then the guys at some stuff. I'm hoping the next books give more clarity.
So I clicked the link for trigger warnings and it took me to a page of trigger warnings but this book wasn’t on there. Which would have deterred me from reading this book and perhaps not been as shocking. The story was interesting enough but until the trigger warning list is updated, I won’t be continuing the story.
I stayed up til gone 4am... Yes I'm tired but it's worth it
I couldn't put this down. Seriously I am beyond tired but I don't care because I DEVOURED this book like a hungry caterpillar! A must read for anyone who loves a gorgeously written Rh paranormal academy. Leia King has my heart
Holy Hott Dragon Fire!! Leia has out done herself with this book!! All the action, steam, mystery and so much more!! Can not wait for the rest of them to drop!!
I loved the book. I started reading and couldn’t put the book down. I fell in love with the characters and their stories. I can’t wait to read what happens next. Great writer
I like the concept. But half tempted to not finish series. I do not like how it’s wrote. They make the characters sound like 50 year old college professors instead of young 20 year olds. This is really throwing me off and how they act and talk.
DNF---first time reading this Author so maybe I should have read the books prior, but it was just straight up porn from the get-go. There was no build or investment in the characters. Writing was good just give me something besides sex scenes. But that's just me, I need a little more.
Wow! That was great! I can not wait for book 2! I absolutely was obsessed with Mia’s series and while they can both be read alone, I love that we’re getting her daughters series and getting to continue in this world! I love when an author has more than one series in the same world!
I love to be apart of this world again - having the daughter’s story now !!!!! I love this book just as much as ANY BOOK LEIA wrights I need more please 🙏
I haven’t read a book where the RH/ Why choose is truly “why choose” and Ari and her guys get nasty and swap a lot. But man when they got together as a foursome 👩🍳 💋.
Super hot romance x4. Really well written. The world building was incredible. Lots of action. Never a dull moment. I will definitely be reading book 2 in this series.
