3 To second chances…Stars

One to Love is apart of the One to Hold series, but can be read as a standalone. I have not read books 2-3, so this is my first time meeting Kenny.

Kenny is a survivor. She ran off and married the boy her parents didn’t approve of and he was killed in a bar fight shortly after. She had a drunken one night stand with a friend ended up pregnant. She has made her mistakes, but has settled down and is trying to get her life back on track.

Slayde meets Kenny when he starts working as a maintenance person at the gym where she is a trainer. Slayde is instantly attracted to Kenny, but he doesn’t feel he could ever deserve someone like her.

Kenny decides to make the first move on Slayde and asks him to work with her on her boxing, since he is a former fighter. Slayde refuses to help her, he doesn’t need to drag Kenny into his world. After a few more days of seeing Kenny, he decides he can’t fight his attraction any longer.

Kenny and Slayde begin training with each other, and things quickly escalate.

Kenny and Slayde together - pretty freaking hot. More than that I really loved the connection they shared, both are damaged but together they help each other. I love that Slayde trusted Kenny to open up about his past and childhood and Kenny shared about the loss of her husband.

The writing is great and told in both Kenny and Slayde’s point of view.

I really enjoyed this story, but felt the beginning could have moved quicker. Now, I am an impatient person, keep that in mind, but I wanted Kenny and Slayde to meet sooner. I also found it odd that Kenny didn’t have custody of her child and had a make an eight hour trip to see him. I haven’t read all the books, so maybe I would understand that decision had I read books 2 and 3. Regarding the conclusion

I've got some serious feels I need to share about this book...
She said I'd saved her, but the reality was she was the angel who saved me. Now I was trying to hold onto her - as if I could be tat lucky.
((Spoiler Free Review - Even though it's killing me))

Let's start off by saying that I have read all three of the previous One to Hold novels, so I knew all about Kenny's back-story before starting. One to Love might be marked as a stand-alone, but you really need an understanding of her time with Patrick in order to appreciate her current situation...

I was not one of the readers who wanted Kenny & Patrick to end up together in One to Keep - That was a pretty big (and fun) debate among readers of that book. To be honest, I wasn't in love with Kenny's character at all... Which is probably why I've been dragging my feet about continuing this series.

On the subject of honesty: I enjoyed this book more than the others in the series - It was ballsy, sexy, and emotional. There were themes of strength and redemption woven into the story which I really appreciated...

Having said all that, know that I can enjoy a story and have major criticisms at the same time.

My biggest problem with this story: I figured out the "twist" on Kenny & Slayde's second date. That was so far in advance of the actual reveal, that it really affected my opinion of the characters...

It always bugs me when I pick up on things so far in advance of the main characters - It means that for the rest of the book I'm mentally judging these characters for being so oblivious to their situations.

It creates a disconnect between the reader and the characters - I spent a great deal of time wondering why Kenny and Slayde couldn't see what was so obvious to me, and subsequently dreading the moment their happy little bubble was going to burst...

If I hadn't figured it out so early in the game, would I have rated the book higher? I'd really like to think so.

I think Tia Louise worked hard to sprinkle clues throughout the text in the lead up to the reveal. Those clues would have been fabulous to someone who figured out the twist during the natural reveal point, but they wound up being glaringly obvious to someone who had the whole thing worked out so far ahead of the main characters...

THAT is the reason I have a hard time writing this review.

On the one hand:
I'm reading this book and thinking:
1. How are you willfully ignoring all of these obvious signs?
2. Why do you complain about falling for the wrong guys, but head vagina first for the guy who is practically wearing a shirt that says 'wrong guy'?
3. How can you claim to be in love with someone if you know nothing about them?

On the other hand:
In a world of repetitive modern romances where the main characters are required by formula to dramatically push each other away before they can actually get their HEA... At least these two characters had a damn good reason not to be together...

She deserved better, yet she wanted me. She touched my face and asked me to let her see inside my darkest places. Now I had to decide if I was brave enough to say yes, to risk losing her by granting her request.
The saving grace of this problem with my personal experience reading the book, it that the whole plot did NOT lean on the shock of the twist.

There was a lot to love about this book, and most of my complaints are subject to my own experience reading it... But, ya know, ALL book reviews are subjective...

Like I said, a lot to love:
Kenny and Slayde had a really lovely dynamic - mutually wounded, and worried about how their pasts would overshadow the present.

When Kenny let go of her grief, it was a beautiful thing to see.

This book has one of the BEST 'first kiss' scenes...
Definitely in my Top ten. Wowza!

Wounded alpha-male with a hunted past who can be healed by the power of love?
Check.

Spunky tattooed chick who literally kicks ass?
Double Check.

Athletes in a gym setting that didn't seem generalized or trope-y?
Oh Yes.

So yeah, dispite my criticisms, I quite enjoyed this book. There was an intriguing set up for the next book in the series, One to Leave, which will focus on Patrick's mysterious brother (and Derrick's former business partner) Stuart Knight... Different characters, different situation, different setting... It sounds promising.

It's Live One to Love

3~3,5 Be Free Stars...

description

My first read for the author. and i'm positive it won't be my last.! One to Love is a part of the series, yet it can be read as a standalone.

Kenny. a woman who been through a lot in her life. getting married in a young age, and on one day her husband was killed in a bar fight. with everything going pretty ugly in her life. she gets drunk with her best friend Patrick and she end up pregnant. Now all Kenny is focusing on is to get back on the right track and be happy.

Slayde. a former fighter, who struggled with his anger.
Now he wants to bury his ugly past, and tries to have a fresh start.

They both meet at the gym. were kenny is a trainer, and Slayde is the new maintenance guy. The feelings are mutual between these two. BUT
Slayde tries to keep away as much a possible, because he knows that She's too good to be with him. Though nothing can stop the heart! ;)

With their everyday boxing lessons. Slayde can't tolerate anymore on holding his affections toward kenny. things picked up really fast with these two.

description

Their intimacy is pretty HOT. loved how it was presented, and how they both trusted each other: to be able to open up their darkest secrets.

It was a enjoyable read for me. you get to read Kenny and slayde's POV
and the author's writing is really good. it describes every small details. which i really loved and how every chapter had a beautiful quote at the beginning.

Why i gave it 3~3.5 Stars?!
To be honest. i had a like/hate toward kenny. don't get me wrong she's really a lovely character. but in some situations i don't understand her or agree with her. for instance: not having her child with her. (i know i'm not a mother to "know" what's best for a child) but still leaving him with his father and step mother(who i had a feeling that she had some "issues" with kenny in the First-two books of the series!!) and Like

Would i recommend it? If you are into a story that can delivers you. loss, second chances, unexpected love. Then this book is for you!
Happy Reading.

3 Second Chance Stars

How is it possible I came here thinking I'd fade away, and I found you?"

One To Love is a story about loss, second chances and forgiveness. It's emotional, it's steamy, and it's entertaining. Did that sound deep to you? Because the truth of the matter is I was sold after reading just this.
Tattoos, bad boys, love...
Boxing, fame, fortune…
Loss.

I happen to be easy when it comes to bad boys, tattoos, and fighters.

Having never read any of the other books in this series, I was really hoping that the standalone promise would hold true; and it did. I didn't have any issues keeping up with the story.

Kenny was a heroine I had a bit of a struggle connecting to from the beginning. I'm not a big fan of accidental pregnancies in books where the parents aren't the MCs, so I really had to work to overcome this bias. Kenny had a drunken hook up with Patrick from One to Keep that resulted in the birth of her son. Perhaps my issue was that I didn't read that book, but I had a lot of trouble understanding how she was OK with giving full custody to Patrick and his girlfriend and only visiting her son, living hours away. But at the same time I did enjoy her tough-girl attitude, so it didn't really kill things for me.

Kenny is very familiar with loss. Still struggling with the loss of her husband 5 years ago she has a hard timed getting close to men. It's especially difficult since she happens to have a type, the tatted bad boy type that could never end well for her...until one fateful night that everything changes.

Slayde is struggling with loss of his own after the fall of his successful fighting career. Barely able to make ends meets, he hopes that his new job as a janitor at a gym might the answer that he needs.

When he saves a beautiful girl on a dark beach one night from getting raped, the last thing he expects is to come face to face with her the next day at his job...where she also works.
Now get out of here before I forget I'm a gentleman."
"Are you a gentleman?"
"Not really. With you I try to be."
"Don't try too hard. I've never been much for gentlemen."

I found the first 25% of the book to be a very slow start, the MCs don't even meet each other until that point. Which also might be a good thing since they start pretty hot and heavy as soon as they give into the chemistry between them.

While the chemistry between them was certainly sizzling, I struggled with their connection beyond that. I more or less figured out what the hidden connection was between them right away, though I didn't think it'd be as crazy as it was. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around that particular twist and how I felt about it.

I did really love Slayde's character. I couldn't help but fall for him pretty much right away. he was just that right amount of broken yet endearingly sweet.

Kenny I never did fully connect to.

I think ultimately what kept this from being at least a solid 4 stars for me, was the twist. Perhaps if the circumstances were different, or it happened in a different way , I could have dealt with it. But as it was, I just couldn't see how they could move on from something like that and have a healthy relationship.

Another thing that I struggled with was the choppiness in some of the story lines. This very well could have been just me, but there were parts where I found myself going back a chapter to re-read thinking that I missed something. One chapter Kenny and Slayde are happy and together, and the next chapter Kenny is mad at him and Slayde needs space. This was especially true with the ending for me; one chapter we find Slayde and then it fades to black and next thing you know . I really needed more from that. I needed to fully understand how Kenny could forgive him, short of just time away from him.

Finally the other thing that didn't quite work for me (and this again may be due to me not having read the previous books) was the Epilogue. I would have much rather preferred getting a glimpse into Kenny and Slayde's POV then the one of Derek. It just didn't fit. The first few chapters I mostly understood , but the rest of it seemed more of a continuance of his HEA then the MCs of the actual book.

Again, this may very well just have been me, and other readers may not even bat an eyelash at this.

Ultimately I did enjoy the story (3 stars does mean I liked it, I just didn't love it) and I would happily read any future books from this author. As it was, One to Love was a very solid 3 star read, and I'd definitely recommend it to readers that enjoy steamy NA romance.

Without the darkness you never see the stars.

Two broken individuals, going through the motions trying to live their life through the pain, loss and guilt. Just when they think they are getting their second chance at life, fate had them meet and question everything they have tried to convince themselves on what they deserve.
"I've done my best to change. The question is whether that erases the past."

Kenny
an angel as beautiful as that? She deserved so much better than a broken down sinner like me.

Kenny is tired of being guilty for living, after the death of her husband, the only thing she lives for now is her son, Lane...but that all changes the day she met Slayde. There was something about him that called to her, it was like he was as broken as she was.

Slayde
"What is your story, Slayde Bennett?" I whispered. "Could you be just as scarred as I am?"

He knows he should stay away, what could he possibly have to offer her, starting from scratch, he's just a maintenance-handyman-janitor-badboy-sexgod. But their meeting gave him a new sense of right in his life, that maybe, just maybe his luck will turn and finally change for the better. With Kenny's new outlook on life it gives her the strength to take the risk on a man like Slayde, after all how bad can one man be when he has full control over your body with just one look???
"All this time, I fought. I fought myself wanting you. I fought myself believing I was good enough for you. I'm not. I'm not any of those things. I don't deserve you."

When things seem to be to good to be true, it usually means it is and in a blink of an eye their perfect little bubble pops leaving with nothing but the ugly truth.
One...two...three... "Please come back to me,"

Four...five... six "This missing makes me sick."

Seven...eight...

One to Love is Kenny's story and one that I have been waiting for ever since she was first introduced to us in Patrick's story One to Keep. With her loss and her past, I wanted her to find her Prince Charming to take away all the pain and put a smile on her face. Little did I know she was gonna get an even more tortured soul than hers and she would be the one to show him the light. Slayde was a broken man, one who hid his secrets close making us wonder about his past, a man who loved fiercely and with everything he had.

It took a while for the two to meet, making the anticipation all the more greater. It was a bumpy start but settled in a way a bit to calm, everything seemed to fall in line too perfectly and I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop and when it did, holy cow boy did it drop. It was a crazy sad love affair, but I can't think of two more perfect people for each other than Kenny and Slayde. It was also great to connect back with Derrick and Melissa and Patrick and Elaine. This is a stand alone read with dual POV, with just a bit of mystery and a whole lotta lovin. Another great addition to the One To Hold series.

Kendra Woods aka Kenny is a 26 yr. old beautiful, young widow & mother living in Bayville, NJ. She is an artist who used to do tattooing. She is taking off a semester of college & is currently working as a trainer at the Jungle Gym.

 photo 77a0b8f8-b26c-4cbd-991a-93b122a13304.png

After losing her husband 5 yrs. ago, Kenny hasn't been able to move on with her life. She feels shut down inside, and is scared to let anyone too close. She is afraid to ever feel that kind of pain again. She has a 2 yr. old son from a one night stand, who lives with his father in a stable loving home. Kenny adores her son, but is still trying to heal & figure out her life. She has a lot of regrets, and feels she makes one bad choice after another, & just keeps messing up. One evening she finds herself in some trouble, and a stranger rescues her & then disappears.

 photo 4dffd718-c12f-48d9-afff-c198d67568c3.jpg

This stranger is an ex professional boxer named Slayde Bennett aka Slayer, who was forced to quit fighting years ago after his whole world came crashing down on him. He went from a badass rising star to a person with nothing. He felt like his life ended when he put down his boxing gloves. With all his championship dreams shattered he felt like a loser. He has done some horrible things in his past and is trying to start over, & be a better person. He is just taking things one step at a time, & trying to survive.

 photo 0a2f3f08-ff2d-4974-b766-6792adf9cce7.jpg

Slayde can't quit thinking of the beautiful woman he saved the other night. After going for a job interview at Jungle Gym he see's his mystery woman again. He starts working as their new maintenance guy, and this puts him around Kenny. They have an undeniable attraction for each other that they both try to resist. When Kenny asks Slayde to teach her to box things start to heat up between them quickly.

 photo 51b4b5f3-47f0-4d8f-a6d8-fa8e9fdadec7.jpg

They both have troubled pasts, but being with each other was natural & easy. When together neither one felt as damaged or empty anymore. They were no longer just surviving their grief getting by, they were finally living. They were both healing and starting to believe in love and 2nd chances.

 photo 729571a7-6b1f-40b0-921d-cd4a3439cd43.jpg

After being alone for so long, Kenny finally feels she's found her happiness with Slayde. Their intense connection is something rare, & they feel lucky to have found each other.

 photo ea7e891f-e7db-4a44-9756-b04a48f625c1.jpg

Just as Slayde is letting his guard down, his secrets & past catch up with him, & things get quite rocky between this couple. These unexpected twists shocked the hell out of me!

 photo atyra.gif
 photo atyra1.gif

These revelations absolutely shatter Kenny & leave this couple broken. Ultimately when they try to move on, they can't let go of each other. Whether right or wrong Kenny's heart wants Slayde. Her soul would always long for his, and she would do anything to be with him. This was a wonderful book about love, loss, forgiveness, & healing. It was very emotional & heartbreaking at times, but also a beautiful love story. I really adored this couple flaws & all & am a huge fan now of Tia Louise! This was my 1st book by this author, & now I can't wait to read her other books! Especially looking forward to Stuart's book! :D

4.5 More to Love Stars!

So I did not know what to expect when TL announced a book for Kenny as I didn't know if I was a fan! I know the back story a bit...and her history with Patrick. Although things have seemingly worked out with the whole Patrick/Elaine/Kenny story, I still sat on the fence with knowing this woman walked away from her baby.

That being said, I was beyond pleasantly surprised when I finished this read and found so much more to Kenny than meets the eye. GRIEF pushes people to extremes...it challenges their inherent worth

This book is different from the previous books in this series. Where I fell in hard lust with Mel and Derek...and loved the chase of Elaine and Patrick, this book had much more depth, a more emotional tone and a much more complete story start to finish. For me this book, turned up the angst and kept that heat that I fell in love with the first time I read this author. Kenny and Slayde are from worlds apart, but connected more than anyone could ever imagine.

One to Love has 2 characters who have made choices...Both have realized unfavorable results...and both continue to live everyday with consequences. This story has two characters "living" to the best of their ability, but not really allowing life to happen. Never allowing themselves "more." Yes, both seem to have 2nd chances but neither feel as if they deserve to take a risk, find happiness, or have the right to desire. But why not??? For once Kenny has found a "stirring" deep within her...for once someone's walls may be higher than her own! Challenge accepted!

Immediate attraction...cautious...but worth pursuing. Fun, Flirty, HOT Chemistry...set in the backdrop of fitness/boxing. Here are 2 characters that know how to "work it out."

But Damn if sometimes past choices and acts have a way of coming back up as reminders of what was done lost.

Can Kenny and Slayde get beyond the shock, the hurt, the unbelievable karma? They say that everyone deserves a second chance...sometimes the ONE TO LOVE is not always the one who is expected!!!

4 - "Have you ever heard of the Red String of Fate?" Stars!

Tia Louise did it to me again! There I was merrily reading away, getting my Slayde and Kenny thang on and… BOOM! WTF!! I. DID. NOT. SEE. THAT. COMING!!!

”True love destroys fear. It covers sins. It’s stronger than any human emotion.”

I shouldn’t really be surprised, because this talented lady has managed to do it on some level to me with pretty much every book in the One to Hold series. You always have an inkling that something big is about to happen as any given story develops, but you are never quite 100% sure as to where Tia is going to take it.

The story starts pretty calm; Slayde and Kenny initially come together after a totally idiotic decision on Kenny’s part. But little does she know that her disappearing knight in shining armour is also the new janitor in the gym where she works.

This was my life now. Cleaning up other peoples shit. Keeping my chin tucked, guarding my vulnerable spots. It wasn’t about my dreams or what I’d lost. It was about taking the first step… taking the next step.

You can sense early on that Slayde is keeping secrets, things are revealed slowly, and this reader was totally gobsmacked at the genius way that Ms. Louise worked this storyline out. I loved Slayde, (Derek, I still love you more) the tattoos, the vulnerability, the determination to become a better person, he pulls on all the right heart strings, and gives you all the right quivers!

She deserved so much better than a broken down sinner like me.

I am never not going to want to read a book by this author; no doubt I will never not enjoy a book by her either. She has a way of pulling you in, grabbing you by all the important bits and not letting you go until the end where invariably, you are an emotionally exhausted, probably horny, but fully satisfied wreck!

Our scars would make us stronger.

A lot of people were waiting for Kenny to get her story, I was too. But in all honesty there has been someone floating around on the periphery of this series all the way back since book 1, that I have been waiting patiently for Tia to get to. Stuart Knight. He finally makes an appearance in One to Love, not for long, but boy does he leave a lasting memory. One to Leave is due later this year (everything crossed here) or early 2015. It is Stuart’s story, I cannot freaking wait!

✮✯✮✯ 4 Second Fated Stars ✮✯✮✯

"Tattoos, bad boys, love...Boxing, fame, fortune… Loss.”

Can the heart truly heal? Do second chance exists for broken hearts? And the answer is YES!! In One to Love by Tia Louise, she showcases the power of love, redemption, forgiveness, and second chances. In this heartbreaking and yet touching story, two strangers are destined to meet. Destined to find each other. Maybe fate played a hand for them to meet. But all that doesn’t matter when the hearts speaks and knows it found its missing piece. Like a jigsaw puzzle, Kenny and Slayde were two broken pieces but when they are molded together, they are the perfect fit. Two strangers who healed each other emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Against all odds, they showcase the real meaning of second chances at love and life. So in One to Love, can love be found a second time around? Or is too late?

"True love destroys fear. I covers sin. It's stronger than any human emotion."

#OneToLove1

The main aspects of One to Love are second chances and forgiveness. The key to unlock a broken heart lies within many doors. It is not instant but takes time. Through time, comes healing and acceptance. Though the heart and mind can sometimes be fickle, the truth is absolute. You cannot deny what the heart wants. And in One to Love, Ms. Tia Louise shows us that Kenny and Slayde is that one couple who found forgiveness and love in each other. Simply, they healed each other.

Kendra (Kenny) Woods endured so much in her life that her story is heartbreaking alone. Widowed at a young age, she had an uphill battle finding closure and letting her heart heal. Can the heart truly heal when its been shattered to pieces?

Slayde Bennett is an ex-fighter who has a dark past. His demons consumes him and eats him alive. For so long, he lived with anger, rage and darkness. #OneToLove

One to Love by Tia Louise was a story that hooked me. It was emotional, heartbreaking and touching all wrapped in one. Ms. Tia Louise brought you a raw story of two vulnerable main characters. Love hurts but love also heals. The beauty of this book is the aspect of second chances at love and life. And Tia did just that. She showed us what it means to have your life completely shattered. And when you think the shards of a broken heart can’t be mended, Ms. Louise will show you all you need is someone to pick up the pieces and glue them back together. The pieces can then be whole. Love is not perfect. It may have scars and a broken past, but once you are ready, it can be healed. The heart can beat again and LOVE.

You know, I never thought that I would love a hero as much as Tia made me love Derek, but honestly, Slayde is running a VERY close second!! Both Slayde and Kenny have am amazing story to tell and I hope every one of you enjoy it. I am going to spout a little review and opinions about this story, like I usually do, so I hope you all enjoy! :)

"True love destroys fear. I covers sin. It's stronger than any human emotion."

(that was my absolute favorite line in this book, btw)

When Slayde settles in a town where no one knows him he thinks this is his chance to start over. He never expected to meet Kenny. Their chemistry is explosive and undeniable. When Slayde starts work at the gym Kenny is a trainer at there is really no way they can stay away from each other, and hell, Kenny doesn't want to! She wants this man BAD - now if you haven't ready the other books in the series, you really MUST, but I don't want to give to much back story away by saying things I shouldn't - bear with me :)But that said, for those of you who have been reading all along we get to spend some time with Mel & Derek and Patrick & Elaine and sweet little Lane as well!

Anyway, where was I, oh yes - Kenny wants Slayde and after fighting it briefly, Slayde can't deny how much he wants Kenny as well. They start to spend time together and get to know each other - and by this, yes I mean hot, sweaty, steamy SEX, and lots of it! However, Slayde has a past and a secret that he REALLY needs to come clean about. However before he can, my beautiful hunk of man-meat Derek, not so gracefully spills the beans - and all hell breaks loose!

If the ocean was my living room, she was my sun and moon.~Slayde

Seriously, maybe I'm loosing my touch or maybe Tia is just that good but I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING!! I loved it - I love when an author can shock and surprise me!!

No worries though darlings, there is a HEA waiting for you at the end of the great story so go on and enjoy!

"Love is a risk, babe."

Wow. One to Love is my first Tia Louise book, and to mix metaphors, this one came out of left field and hit me right between the eyes! I absolutely LOVED this book! I expected to like it because I've heard such great things about Tia Louise's books, but I never guessed that I would ADORE everything about it!

Slayde is my favorite type of book boyfriend - the fiercely protective yet sweetly vulnerable bad boy gone good and giving it all he's got to make it with the right girl. To quote Kendra "Kenny" Woods, the strong and passionate female lead:

"He was so amazing, confident, determined, impenetrable, and yet vulnerable at the most unexpected times."

The writing in this book was fantastic! I smiled when the characters smiled, laughed when they laughed, and felt a wide array of emotions right along with them. I was totally swept away by this story. There were tummy tingles and tears...two of my favorite signs that a book has made a huge impact.

This book can be read as a standalone, as I experienced it, but after reading one Tia Louise book, I'd highly recommend checking them all out!

I LOVED Kenny and Slade's story. I am not, sorry to say, a tatted reader, but I loved the evolution of these two characters. All that they had been through. I also enjoy the re-occurrence of characters from the One to Hold series: Patrick, Elaine, Mel, and Derek.
And goodness gracious is the heat still there...with all of them. And humor. This book has it all. Though these are all standalones, I recommend that you read the entire series!
No matter what you do, don't miss this fun series!

4.5 stars!! Sexy, emotional, warm and very satisfying story.

Tia Louise's books have been on my TBR list forever and I am so glad I finally read One To Love! I LOVED it! Kenny and Slayde's story was filled with passion, heart, feeling, and incredibly hot and addictive sexy times. I love this author's style of writing, and can't wait to read more of her books.

Slayde is starting over in the small town where Kenny works as a trainer at a local gym. He is quite literally starting out at the bottom, working as a maintenance man and janitor at the gym. He hides his body so that his tattoos will not show, and he is trying very hard to keep his past hidden from the new friends he meets. And that includes Kenny. Even though she, too, has some secrets, Slayde feels unworthy of her and he is not quite ready to share his obviously painful past with her.

Kenny is very lonely and has almost given up on finding someone to share her life with. She, too, is hiding a painful past, but she has no idea about the man that Slayde used to be, or the incredibly damaging and heartbreaking actions he has taken. All she sees is the beautiful and damaged and humble man who has literally taken her breath away. Can the two of them learn to trust one another and open their hearts to love again?

This might sound like a theme that has been done many times before, but in the hands of Tia Louise, One to Love is a fabulously warm and sexy story about two very real and damaged people just trying to find love and live an honest and fulfilling life. Simple needs, really. Give this author a try. I couldn't put One to Love down and I can't wait to read the other books in this series. (This book contains characters from other stories but it absolutely can be read as a standalone.) Highly recommended!!

Loved it. Truly. I have been following Tia Louise since she released her first book, One to Hold. Each book she writes draws you in deeper into these amazing characters lives. All her characters are well developed, each of her men posses true alpha characteristics but that is where the similarities end creating a new a fresh story in each book.

One to Love is about 2 broken people in need of someone who can bring light into their worlds.

Kenny is a young woman trying to make a better life by making better decisions in her present and future.

Slayde is trying to continue to grow from his past. He is lost and alone until a fateful night that gives him hope that a HEA may actually be in his future.

Kenny and Slayde seem to be the prefect couple. Both with painful past finding confront in each other until someone from both their past comes back with information that may be too much for a young troubled couple to survive. Information that makes everyone question if life is really as simple as once believed.

"I haven't read the other books in the series yet but this one was amazing and now I want to read the other books even more! This romantic story is about a man and a woman with tortured pasts who find one another through fate. I love how perfect they seem to fit together. As soon as I got to chapter 19, I figured the story out but that didn't deter me from wanting to read more. Thank you so much to Tia Louise for writing such a wonderful story and allowing me to read it!"

One to Love by Tia Louise

MY REVIEW

FACT No. 1 I love Fighters with big hearts – that mix of fierceness and gentility swoooon

Fact No, 2 I Love tortured alphas – broken & in need of fixing? Challenge accepted.

Fact No. 3 Keep your fancy rich boys I like em penniless but driven – nothing sexier than watching them evolve into the man they were destined to be.

Fact No. 4 Tia Louise has penned the KING of tortured, alpha, penniless but driven, big hearted fighters – “sans pareil” HOLLA!

It’s no secret how much I LOVE this series! One to Hold (book 1) kept showing up in my newsfeed on FB I knew I had to read it. I was grateful I did because Dereck instantly made it onto my exclusive list of book husbands; followed by the courtly & handsome Patrick from One to Keep.

These boys are all kinds of Alpha hotness and honestly I wasn't sure how Tia Louise was going to top them in One to Love. Who would be the new boy on the block? How could he possibly be able to compare or measure up to my boys? Ahh but Alas, me of little faith. Not only does Slayde measure up, but dare I say, he may just be the finest of the One to hold series … so far!

Kenny is still trying to pick up the emotional debris left over from the tragic loss of her first love. She is alone and yearns for love but cannot bring herself to let go of the past and risk betraying the memory of Blake. Enter Slayde. He too is tired from carrying the heaviness of his past. He has abandoned his career as an underground fighter and finds himself almost destitute and desperately in need of a break. Fate intervenes and inevitably the two meet and there is an immediate soul connection. But little do either of them know just how entangled their lives actually are.

"I told myself I didn’t need love. I didn't deserve it. I was resigned not to look for it. Then out of nowhere you appeared. You needed me,and I helped you. The thing that ended my life, my ability to fight saved yours. You gave my worthless life meaning and when you looked at me with those beautiful blue eyes… I might as well have carved out my heart and handed it to you. You owned me from that moment forward”

As the story unravelled and the pieces fell into place my heart broke for them, for the cards that life had dealt them and the adversity they had to endure.

This is by far my favourite of the series so far.Slayde, even with all his male virility, made me want to hold his head to my bosom and sing him a lullaby. I felt his pain, his shame, his love for Kenny so acutely it was almost overwhelming. Tia’s writing is poetic and lyrical. This is a gorgeously moving story that reminds us that beauty can indeed rise from pain.

I have liked Kenny since we met her in Patrick's book One to Protect. I was excited when I found out she was getting her own book.

Kenny didn't think she could move on after her husband was killed. She knows she made a mistake with Patrick, but they got Lane out of the deal. She wants to move on and not feel like she is betraying her dead husband, but how does she do that? One talk with someone who has lost a spouse has Kenny reexamining her life. She is learning in small steps to move on and make herself happy. She is instantly attracted to Slayde. They are both reserved and not wanting to get involved. But the chemistry between them is off the charts. Can she finally open her heart to anther person?

Slayde is living with his demons. He did some time for his crime, but he still holds the guilt for what he did. He doesn't know how to let it go. He wants Kenny, but knows he isn't enough for her. Can she except him for who he was and is? The past is the part that scares him the most. He wants to tell her what he did. But he doesn't want her to walk away either. Will he finally open up and tell her?

This is an amazing book of love and forgiveness. We don't always pick who we fall in love with. We can try and walk away, but we won't be complete without them. Kenny and Slayde were perfect for each other. And this book is my fav of the series!!! Cannot wait to read Stuart's book next. This book was also a lot spicier than the previous!! Well done Tia!!

Kenny, a woman of strength, both physically and emotionally. She wears her scars openly. And has made mistakes and learned from them. She’s a fighter in every way.
Slayde a man of mystery, strong handsome, tough. Born to fight born to battle. His life has never been easy, and never will be. His past will haunt him, even though he is a different person now. He has changed and evolved into a man of character. But will that even matter when the truth comes out?
QUOTE “ WITHOUT THE DARKNESS YOU WILL NEVER SEE THE STARS”
(A sample of what you will get from this Author)
They met under intense circumstances, and there was instant chemistry and heat. A hero, her savior but is he the man she thinks he is?
This was a brilliant love story. With plot twist that I did not see coming. (Impressive) The characters are rich and complex. The writing is fantastic, a brilliant style. I fell in love with them and felt compassion for their past and their future.
The Story pulled me in so deeply, and did not want to walk away from the book. Sexy , romantic, and very passionate. Everything you want and everything we look for as a reader.
One to Hold (One to Hold, #1)
One to Protect (One to Hold, #2)
One to Keep (One to Hold, #3)
I have found ALL of Tia’s books incredible. Get started today, you will be glad you did.

This book is phenomenal!! Once again Tia Louise has managed to write a book that will leave you begging for more

Kenny is a survivor. Once upon a time she ran away and got married to a boy her parents did not approve of. One night shortly after he was killed in a bar fight. Kenny, coping with his death, got drunk and had a one night stand with a friend. To make things even worse, she ends up pregnant. All in all, she has made her mistakes, but has settled down and her life is back on track.

Slayde met Kenny when he started working at a gym. Instant attraction between them is obvious; however Slayde feels as though he is undeserving of a woman like Kenny.

Kenny decides to make the first move and asks Slayde to work with her to help her in her boxing. At first Slayde refuses to work with her; however, after a few days, he can't deny his feelings any longer and he starts helping her.

When they start working together, the heat becomes off the charts HOT. The connection they share is is powerful and beautiful all at the same time.
This book is incredible!!! I definitely recommending reading the first three books in the series first, but it is not a hundred percent necessary. 5 HUGE STARS!!

I will begin with how excited I am that Tia finally gives us Kenny's story! I have loved her from the beginning. She is a strong, beautiful woman that has made her share of mistakes but they have made her who she is today and they are also the basis of her strength and will.
Oh Slayde where shall we begin!!!! He is a man of mystery and intrigue. He was born to be a fighter and that has been the base of his internal turmoil and pain. He is a strong, silent, sexy man that has lead a tough life.
When Slayde and Kenny meet they have an undeniable attraction and pull that neither one want to give into too. They have both been beaten and harden by life and the lessons it has dished out to them. If they can find each other can they learn to grow and heal together? Will they be able to continue together once the truth and past raise their ugly heads. It was a great story Kenny and Slayde certainly know how to turn up the heat factor!
I love how Tia continues to bring back our favorite characters from the previous books ! They are one fabulous, sexy hot group of couples and they keep you coming back for more!

I’ve read the entire One to Hold Series and I absolutely love the alpha men that Tia creates. Derek and Patrick both make an appearance in One to Love, but this is Kenny and Slayde’s love story. You’ll remember Kenny as the girl Patrick met and hooked up with, and then as Lane’s mom. One to Love is part of the One to Hold Series, but it can be read as a stand-alone book.

Now, let me just tell you I like #1. a bad boy, #2. a fighter, #3. a strong male hero that can find redemption. Tia Louise hit all my favorites in this one by creating Slayde, a guy trying to find a new start and hits a few road blocks along the way. Kenny has found where she needs to be, but something is missing – even if she doesn’t realize what it is.

Tia made me laugh, cry, and almost throw my Kindle. If you like sweet, with a bit of sexy, and a whole lot of twists and turns you definitely want to check out One to Love. It has everything I look for in a beach read – tons of steam, a little drama, and a whole lot of alpha-male-ness. She did it again with Kenny and Slayde’s story. This is one not to be missed.

Yes I loved this book as I loved all of Tia Louise’s before this but I have to admit to being able to predict what Slayde’s past was. I guess I have read so many novels that I am able to see these story lines quickly!!

Despite all of this I couldn’t help but love the ride that was Kenny and Slayde’s story. I loved them both. Kenny for how she deals with her past loss and Slayde for how he is wearing his past and is trying to be a better person. I have to admit to having a new favourite male lead of Tia Louise’s. I can’t help but feel guilty, however Slayde with his tattoos and angst….sigh.

The story is an erotic one and yet at the same time the romance between the two has you sighing and going ahhhh due to the sweetness of it!!

I am so pleased to have discovered Tia Louise as she truly is amazing at weaving the tales that she does. I have fallen in love with all of her characters thus far and I cannot wait to fall in love with more.

Please note that all of her novels can be read as standalones although the characters appear throughout the series.

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4 1/2 stars!!
I've been a huge fan of Tia's writing, her books always put an unpredictable spin on all her stories, which I love. This story is no exception. Following on from Characters that I have developed deep connection and affection to, that we've met in previous books. This time it's Kenny's love story, while still continuing the lives of much loved characters Patric and Elaine, and introducing beautiful two year old toddler Lane.
I sunk easily into the easy writing, like a great friend. It was easy to immerse myself into the growing relationship forming between Kenny and Slayde. Beautiful lust, love, twists and turns, heartbreak, angst, a learning journey...
This story continues on from One To Keep, which I recommend to be read prior to learn Kenny & Patric & Lane's connection.
And, my desperation has already been tweaked for the next one, bring on Stuart's story!!

Loving this series!! Each book is better than the next. This one is most definitely my favorite by far.
Two sad broken souls come together by chance and try to fix each other. I love these type of stories. I already knew and loved Kenny. BUT Slayde was one hell of a bonus! A hot, tatted, broken, former badboy fighter. He stole my heart with his sweetness!
I loved them together! I was rooting for them through every small struggle. Then I was hit with a horrific twist. I didn't know how or if they even would make it. I read on the edge of my seat. Gosh this book was SO GOOD

4.5 STARS!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Just when I thought Tia Louise couldn’t top the other books in the series, SHE DID! My heart was fully invested in this story from the very first word of the first page to the end. You are pulled in to the life of these characters. You want nothing more than to understand their past and see where their story leads them. One To Love added a lot of depth to the series. It is much more emotional, it goes deep. Putting this down was not an option.

“True love destroys fear. It covers sins. It’s stronger than any human emotion.”

Love. Love hurts. Love destroys. Love also heals. Kenny and Slayde have lived through this. Kendra (Kenny) Woods lost the only love of her life at such a young age. Life was not kind to her. Even with her son, she feels in a bit of a stand still. Her life is in a rut and she has no idea how to get out of it. Until Slayde Bennett. He becomes her light. Slayde, an ex-fighter has a dark past. He coasts through life as he truly doesn’t believe he is worth of anything good in life. Definitely not love. Until Kenny. While things between Slayde and Kenny begin to heat up, their relationship is rocked to the core as past and present collide. In a way no one ever thought possible.

“In a period of just a few weeks, she’d become the light in my otherwise bleak existence.”

Slayde and Kenny end up meeting through an unfortunate circumstance. But through that, they became forever connected just through that moment. One thing about life, you always end up where you belong. The chemistry between Slayde and Kenny is off the charts. Their build up of falling for each other was perfect. The emotions are raw. As mentioned before both have dark pasts. Pasts that dictate the individuals they are today. But this is no insta love story. Slayde and Kenny fall in love. Slowly. Deeply. Their love shatters anything you thought you knew about getting a second chance at love and life.

“You’re free from the pain you try to hold on to.”

One To Love is flawlessly written. The storyline is detailed and I could not put this one down! I was immediately drawn to Slayde Bennett. His real and genuine demeanor made me feel every emotion he was feeling. I felt his strong desire to love, but understood his guarded demeanor. His past was heartbreaking. And Kenny? She was such a fun character. Even with her past, you do not expect her to want to love again, but then you realize she loves harder than anyone else. Her love saves. It saves Slayde. Their love put their broken pieces back together.

“What she couldn’t know was the heart in her hand was mine. She’d hold it forever. I never wanted it back.”

Sometimes you find love when it’s least expected and in the darkest of places. Kenny and Slayde found that when their love was tested beyond what either would could have ever imagined. Their love didn’t know boundaries, it destroyed them. And even when it seemed impossible that their love could even surpass the huge blow to them, it did. The author is truly talented in allowing you to see the story through her character’s eyes. You simply do not read her stories, you crawl inside of them and live there. One To Love is no exception and I found it to be an amazing addition to this series.
