Rate this book
When everything Paul had ever known turned upside down, suddenly he needs to man up and fight for the love he’s always feared.

Paul’s life was set. He had what he needed and what he was comfortable with. Then a night with one of his regular lovers pulls him into the drama of sickness, love, and death.
In the end, Paul needs to work a few things out first: Is he strong enough to fall in love with a man that may need more than he’s able to give, or will he fall into old habits and run when the relationship gets too complicated?

I just finished "Loving Without Knowing It." By: Bronwyn Hedley. I enjoyed the book very much and was very well written. It made you feel the worry and confusing someone goes thru when someone you care about is sick. It was short but very sweet. I want to thank Bronwyn for the opportunity to review her book.

Original Blog Post: Pre-Release eARC Review & #Giveaway: Love Without Knowing It by Bronwyn Heeley

My Rating: 4 of 4 Stars
(Based on Short&Light Read)

Love Without Knowing is the type of book you pick up one minute then put down the next, all finished, all teary eyed, and all hoping. This is such a sweet, sweet romance and it just shows that love will creep in at the most unexpected times.

Paul had had a history that made him turn from committed relationships but it did not stop him from having fun. His friend and lover, Matt, was his one constant in life. He actually looked forward to their weekly trysts but when Paul discovers an anomaly in Matt's body, he just knew he had to get his priorities straight. Should he leave this man, his friend, his lover, at his time of need or should he man up and finally admit to him that what he was feeling was not just sexual, but actually involved the heart?

Oh boy, this was such an endearing story. Yes, this is a classic Bronwyn Heeley who takes readers on a short ride and then dumps them in the middle of a world hard to get out of. No, this has nothing shapeshifter involed, this is pure contemporary. A story of how a disease can make a huge difference to the lives of the sufferer and those around them. This is a topic hardly touched by authors for it cries too much of how real life can be. Fortunately, the author made sure to take her readers slowly and gently into the process of how Matt and Paul lives unfold after the discovery. Their lives are changed forever, but their love becomes the hero that made me cry and laugh.

Thank you Bronwyn, this was short, sweet and a little bit hard to take, but the beauty of your message really shines through. **mwah**

Matt and Paul are lovers with a no-strings-attached agreement, but when Matt gets sick Paul is forced to consider what his life would be like without Matt in it.

LOVE WITHOUT KNOWING IT is a moving and dramatic story about life, love, commitment and facing your deepest fears head on.
"Life wasn't fair. It was hard, and each battle left scars, and sometimes they seemed to all string together until it felt as if you did nothing but battle, day after day."
Bronwyn Heeley captures the essence of human nature in this emotionally charged contemporary romance that challenges readers to live life to its fullest and focus on today.

Paul didn't want to settle down. He's happy with his life and his friend with benefits Matt. However, his whole life changes when he notices a change in Matt's body that might signal a more ominous condition. He has to make a choice - cut and run, or stay and be a partner in everything.

This is the first story I've read by Bronwyn Heeley, and while I enjoyed it, there were a few things that made it a 3.5 star read for me. One, was the editing. The pace of the story just didn't feel right. The relationship occurred too quickly. Second, there were a few typos and grammatical issues that I just couldn't overlook. What I did love about the story was the medical storyline, which I think was well done. It wasn't overly angsty as some medical issues tend to be, but it still carried an impact.

Some authors have that skill that with very few words they can make me care about the characters and the love between them and Bronwyn Heeley is obviously one of them.

Love Without Knowing is a surprisinlgy powerful story and the affection and love between Paul and Matt is almost heartbreaking.

Surprisingly little drama was wrenched out of the cancer storyline, which was good, and it showed good taste. I highly recommend this story.

A very touching and moving story that I could not put down. It made you feel as if you were going through this illness with them. This one will stay with me for awhile!

Lots of copy errors but not the usual type. ESL? Liked the story a lot. I'm a sucker for the unrequited, friends to lovers, and hurt/comfort tropes.

Short story format lets you get right into the meat of the story quickly - and knowing that it was written for Movember makes the subject matter make sense.
Paul is given a wake up call in all senses of the meaning when Matt discovers he has prostate cancer - Paul has to man up, admit deeper feelings as well as be Matt's rock.
We only see Paul's view really which is interesting, when the usual would be to come at it from Matt's.
Short and thoughtful. 3.5*

I could feel Matt's pain when he asked Paul why Paul waited until now to be more than a fuck buddy. Wow. Despite the shortness of the book, I felt the story flowed and was not rushed.
