This is book one of my most anticipated new series and it more than met my expectations!

It was a poignant story, full of life lessons and reminders about keeping the embers of faith alive.

Although I haven’t read Expired Vows (Last Chance Fire and Rescue #4) yet and haven’t previously been introduced to Logan Crawford, I had met his twin brother, Bryce, a firefighter in Rescued Faith (Last Chance Fire and Rescue #6). It was great to get back to Alaska (my favourite setting and cruise destination) and hang out with new friends, people I’m looking forward to getting to know over the course of this new series.

This book is a testament to the staying power of first love, both naturally and spiritually. Before Jamie Winters left Last Chance County, she’d fallen in love with Logan Crawford…and then he walked away. You’ll read about a character who shelved those feelings of unrequited love and abandonment, headed to Alaska, and channeled her energy into finding her brother. You’ll also read about a guy, riddled with regret, who heads to Alaska looking for his first love. Will they find themselves in the wilds of Alaska? Find each other? What about that brother?

Two things I’ll remember about this highly anticipated book:
1) I loved the spotlight on faith and the dangers of letting it go stale. It was inspirational reading about characters who fanned those embers of faith until they ignited a sustaining flame.
2) Reading about the reason Logan became a firefighter endeared me to him all the more.

This 5-star bingeable read about reclaiming the lost is a perfect blend of romance, action and suspense. I can't wait for Burning Rivals, book two in this exciting new series.

I was gifted this copy and was under no obligation to provide a review.

Some books flicker for a moment. This one branded truth on my heart and lit up every place I’ve tried to carry what only Jesus can.

I expected danger. I expected suspense. But I didn’t expect conviction to hit like it did. Because somewhere in the middle of the smoke, the gunfire, and the wilderness, I found something stronger than adrenaline: a story soaked in grace, burning with faith, and steady under pressure.

The writing is sharp, the pacing fast, and the tension holds like a pulled wire—but what really hits is the truth underneath it all.

“Even if he’d been a good person before, the fact that he lived as a Christian now meant he always had Someone to rely on. A place to go for strength, wisdom, and true joy.”
That. That’s what stayed with me. Because it wasn’t about running from the fire—it was about knowing where to run when it comes.

And when everything inside one of the characters cracks open?
“Jesus was her Savior. Him alone and no one else.”
That moment stopped me. I’ve been there—when I finally let go of trying to save everyone else and realized I couldn’t even hold myself together without Him.

The flames in this story are mirrors. They expose what’s fragile. What’s been faked. What won’t hold up when the heat closes in. But they also ignite what’s real. What’s buried. What’s ready to rise.

This book not only stirred up adrenaline—it brought me back to the altar. Back to the truth that when my heart is burning, the answer isn’t escape—it’s surrender. It’s falling to my knees. Opening my hands. And finally letting Jesus be the only Savior in every story—in every moment.

If your faith feels faint…If your hands feel full of things you were never meant to carry…
If your heart is worn thin from trying to be everything for everyone—read this.

Let it remind you where to run when the heat closes in. Let it point you back to the only flame that never consumes:
Jesus. All while keeping you breathless with excellent writing and edge-of-your-seat suspense.

My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on writing and story’s content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

This second chance love story is the first in the Chasing Fire: Alaska series. There were a lot of characters in this story and I did have to work a bit to keep them straight in my mind.

Logan and Jamie both still cared about each other. Logan had traveled all the way to Alaska to see if they should give things a second chance. I appreciated that Logan’s heart had changed once he became a believer and that Jamie was already trying to find her way back to a closer faith walk. But these two definitely had some things to work through and needed to learn more about each other. It seemed like they both kept parts of themselves separate during their previous relationship and it was refreshing to see them sharing and connecting in this story in a more genuine way.

The action and danger were definitely a propelling force in this novel, making me wonder how the author was going to bring these characters safely through everything!

I received a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Let me kick this off by saying that I NEVER want to be a character in a Lisa Phillips novel! She puts her people through it every time and, while it may turn out well, I prefer reading about it to ever being in it!

That said, Burning Hearts is a high octane story set in scenic Alaska. Jamie and Logan are no longer together, but when he finds out she’s gone to Alaska to find her brother, he heads there to find her.

Jamie doesn’t need a rescuer, because she’s the one who rescues everyone else—A factor in why the two of them broke up. But when she finds herself in over her head she is thankful Logan shows up.

A lot goes on in this book which, while a quick read, packs an adrenaline rush that had me holding my breath at every turn of the page! It was such a relief to reach the end!

The need for good communication, strong friendships and teammates who will have your back, and faith that can get you through anything are major themes in every Lisa Phillips novel, and all three shine brightly in this story.

But brace yourselves. More stories are coming and I have a feeling we’ll all be exhausted but satisfied by the end of the series!

I received an advance copy from the publisher. I am under no obligation and my review has not been solicited. Highly recommend this book, and it’s great for summer reading!

This was a fast-paced read, filled with suspense and hints of romantic chemistry right from the start! Logan and Jamie share a complicated past, one that didn’t end the way they had hoped. But the connection between them never truly faded. When Logan discovers that Jamie is in Alaska searching for her brother, he sets off to find her. He feels the need to ensure her safety, and maybe
...just maybe, they can try again. Jamie, however, isn’t interested in being saved. She’s determined to rescue her brother, protect her family, and stay in control. But little does she know, she doesn’t have all the power, and she will need to rely on faith, God, and even Logan and his friends if she stands a chance of saving her brother, and possibly herself!

This was definitely a page-turner. What really hooked me, though, were the different characters and their backstories, which left me eager to see what’s next for the Smokejumper crew! The suspense kept the story gripping, but the second-chance romance was still incredibly sweet. Lisa has a knack for crafting amazing stories, and this one was no exception.

I received a complimentary copy. This review reflects my honest opinion.

Burning Hearts by Lisa Phillips is a moving target set in the Alaskan Wilderness. Phillips takes Logan and Jamie and shoves them through horrific incidents where their faith and their once upon a time relationship comes to a head. Logan is a dreamy hero who will do anything to make sure that Jamie is safe and tries to get her home safely. Phillips takes the wild world of Alaska and allows her characters to battle the elements and a team of bad guys who are chasing them to fight to the very end. Readers will enjoy seeing the familiar characters from previous series make an appearance to help along the way. The action does jump into action and puts the characters into hotter and hotter water as the story moves along. Overall, Burning Hearts by Lisa Phillips has moments of high-octane action wrapped in a relationship with emotions all over the pages. There is a mystery that I believe will bleed into the next book, which I can't wait to read.

I received a complimentary copy of Burning Hearts by Lisa Phillips from Sunrise Publishing, but the opinions stated are all my own.

Burning Hearts is another full of action, lots of sparks....from actual fires and from the spark of feelings as well...story that kept me reading. In this one we leave Last Chance County and are in the wilds of Alaska where there are secrets being kept, relationships hopefully being rekindled, but then again, maybe not?
While, yes, there is a lot of action in this book the part I really liked is how although newer to the faith Logan did his best to keep that faith his focus. And that it made Jamie realize that it had been far too long since she had breathed a prayer.
I was given a copy of this book by the publisher with no requirement to leave a positive review. The review reflects my honest opinion of this book.

The story of Logan’s quest to find Jamie and then when he finds her to keep her safe is absolutely riveting. Logan is a hot shot who chose to go to Alaska with the Midnight Sun Team because he heard that was where Jamie had gone, in her own pursuit to find her brother Tristan. Unfortunately, both of their quests turn into unmitigated danger when Tristan is found with an unruly group of militia, armed to the teeth and ready to fight to keep their secrets. When Jamie discovers Tristan there, Logan naturally follows her and then both of them are endangered and hard pressed to escape the militia group and the forest fire raging in the mountains that surround them. This book offers a compelling plot with nail-biting suspense, crisp writing and exceptionally likable characters. The tension escalates throughout the story that immersed me in the intricate plot threads and the believable details of the story. This is a rich story with a high degree of believability, some fun twists and a lot of spiritual truth as a foundation for the banter between Jamie and Logan. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about this book and highly recommend it to those looking for a quick read filled with relentless tension and realistically flawed characters.

Wow! What an amazing Christian fiction suspense thriller! I was on the edge of my seat as I read this fast-paced book.

Logan is my favorite! He's a heroic smokejumper who fights fires and enjoys the rush of jumping out of airplanes. Jamie loves her brother and mother. So much so that she's willing to risk her life for them. I enjoyed getting to know all of the other characters and I'm amazed at how Lisa Phillips kept them all straight!!

The scenic backdrop of Alaska is beautiful and picturesque. Still on my bucket list..I always appreciated firefighters but this book opened my eyes to their true sacrifices. I liked the mentions of faith throughout the book. It was inspiring and uplifting.

I won a complimentary copy of the book from LibraryThing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Good start to a new series! What I love most is the cast of characters...so many stories to come. Can't wait for them. And fortunately, the wait won't be long as this series releases quickly.

Smokejumper Logan signs up for duty in Alaska to chase after the woman of his dreams Jamie. Jamie is trying to find her brother Tristan. She's been a mother-like figure in his life forever and doesn't want to see him hurt. As the intensity and action heat up Logan and Jamie are pressed to face what is most important to them.

Look forward to the next in the series.

My gratitude to Sunrise Publishing for a complimentary copy of the novel. I was not required to post a review and all opinions expressed are my own.

A quick read with nonstop action. I enjoyed Logan’s straightforward intention – that he’d come to Alaska to find the girl who had captured his heart – and I liked that he was still learning to walk in faith. Jamie is there to find her brother, who doesn’t really want to be found… and when she does, it puts them all in danger. The H/H butt heads but come to understand and appreciate each others’ strengths while also realizing some things about themselves. An enjoyable second-chance romance. My only complaint is that I was left wondering what happened to the computer with the downloaded files from the militia.

I did not read the Chasing Montana series but I was able to jump right in and become acquainted with the characters!

Jamie uses her financial security to go to Alaska in search of her elusive brother, Tristan. Logan heads off to Alaska as a smoke jumper in pursuit of Jamie. They end up entangled in a militia compound.

The suspense continues throughout the story as the characters seek to unravel all of the clues.

I look forward to the next book in the series! Thanks to Sunrise Publishing for the arc. The opinions are my own.

I was so excited for this series when I first got notified of its publishing dates and I was not disappointed.

It was action packed, nail-biting and kept me flipping pages! I just loved the main characters, especially that Logan was new in his relationship with God and how those who interacted with him before this turn could see a difference.

I loved the writing. I felt like I was one of those parachuting to dangerous fire zones, running to escape bullets and felt relief when my favourite characters were safe.

You will fly through this story. And if you do not want to be left hanging, pre-order the next book in the series because you will want to dive right into that!

an exciting start to a new series!

logan crawford relocate to alaska specifically for a chance to win back jamie winters. she's in alaska to help her brother, tristan—and it's this urge to save her family, no matter the cost, that drove a wedge between her and logan in the first place. will a second chance at love actually change anything between them?

there's plenty of action and danger, as jamie and logan sort through their feelings, and burning hearts proves to be a fast-paced, quick read. it blends the romance and the suspense well, while introducing plenty of characters that, i'm sure, will make appearances later in the series.

fans of action, adventure, romance, and suspense set in alaska are sure to have fun with this new book (and new series). it's exactly what i've come to expect from lisa phillips (and susan may warren).

Burning Hearts is a fast-moving story set in beautiful Alaska. Once, Jamie and Logan were a couple, but that is not true anymore. When Logan learns she is in Alaska to find her brother, he goes there for work as a smoke jumper. He also wants to find her to patch things up. Their path gets more complicated when they try to help Jamie’s brother escape from a militia group. During this time, they realize they still have deep feelings for each other.

Logan wants to protect Jamie, but she’s tough and capable most of the time. The story also introduces a cast of characters who likely will have their own stories in future books. I loved how intense the story was, full of unexpected twists and surprises. Along with the action, we see Logan's journey of finding faith and how it changes him. His friends and coworkers notice these changes, and it affects his relationship with Jamie. Their love feels real and grows stronger through all the challenges they face in Burning Hearts.

This book is a great mix of adventure, mystery, clean romance, and messages about faith. It’s well-paced and keeps you engaged. Burning Hearts is an enjoyable start to a new series I plan to continue reading.

Burning Hearts is the first book in the Chasing Fire Alaska series by Susan May Warren and Lisa Phillips. This is a well written, easy to read and easy to imagine story. The story is fast paced and filled with action and suspense. Logan has taken a job as a smokejumper in Alaska, as a way to find Jamie, a woman he cares for. Jamie is an extremely successful business owner who has gone to Alaska to find her brother.

This is an interesting story. I found the different twist and turns within the story to be very welcoming and attention grabbing. The characters are caring, hardworking characters. Each of them have their own background story and secrets. I found the parts of Jamie and her business to be very interesting. While she is very successful, she is very charitable as well. While she continues to feel responsible for her younger brother, he is a strong person with a demanding and respectable job that he can't really talk about. This is such an interesting story with action, suspense, family issues and touches of romance.

RESCUE. DANGER. DEVOTION.
This time, their hearts are on the line.

“God always has a plan, but it’s up to us to choose whether or not to submit to it.”

When finance expert, Jamie Winters, broke the heart of her ex boyfriend Logan to track down her estranged brother, she never expected to have to depend on Logan ever again. That is, until she finds herself needing rescued.

Smokejumper Logan Crawford is used to high stress scenarios. But when a chance encounter forces him to set his feelings aside to make sure his former love, Jamie, is protected, things quickly escalate from bad to worse.

Caught in the midst of a madman’s game while braving the Alaskan wilderness, can Jamie and Logan find Jamie’s brother before they run out of time?

Y’all, this was such a great book and an amazing way to kick off a new series!😍 The tension, romance, characters, and setting were absolutely perfect.

I loved how quickly I was thrown into the action, wondering what’s happening, and how it’s all connected.

Jamie and Logan’s second chance/rekindled romance was so sweet!❤️ The way that they still had a connection with each other after so many years apart was adorable and their chemistry felt natural!🔥

The only reason I docked this book a star is because it was really short. I felt like the ending could have had a little bit “more” to it and wrapped up extremely fast.

However, it sets the scene perfectly for the next book in the series and I can’t wait to read it!

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

While Burning Hearts is the first book in the new Chasing Fire: Alaska series (a multi-author series created by Susan May Warren and Lisa Phillips), it is set in the same world as previous series like Chasing Fire: Montana and Last Chance County Fire and Rescue. As such, there might be some familiar characters. Personally, I had only read some of the books from these previous series and found I was able to enjoy this one just fine as a standalone.

Every time I pick up a book by Lisa Phillips, I know that I am in for a fantastic suspense read. Add in that this particular series was also co-created by Susan May Warren (who is likewise a master at adventurous stories that keep me on the edge of my seat) and I was definitely excited for this one... and it absolutely did not disappoint. Right away, I was drawn into Logan and Jamie's story. Jamie came to Alaska to search for her brother. Logan came to Alaska to find Jamie and get his second chance with her. (Talk about a man willing to go to great lengths for the woman he loves...I love that!) When she is abducted, he sets out to rescue her bringing us a fantastic second chance romance filled with suspense and danger and plenty of twists and turns along the way to keep me at the edge of my seat from start to finish. Jamie and Logan were both beautifully written characters on their own, with great chemistry together who I couldn't help but root for. Their romance was perfectly blended with the suspense, and also some beautiful messages of faith that only made me appreciate their story all that much more! This was a great start to the new series and one that has me looking forward to seeing what is going to happen next! If you enjoy Christian romantic suspense, this is one you absolutely won't want to miss.

I can tell by how long it took me to finish this book I better let this series go…meh! It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t good either…sometimes character story after character story works for me but the start of this series just left me in that feeling of not knowing whether I was coming or going and then the book just ends??? Come on now….
If you read quick and love the cliffhanger type, this series might get better as you go along. Plenty of scripture and faith talk…kind of thrown about without a lot of thought. Glad I tried it out though because Susan May Warren is a go to on my bookshelf 🧡

Jamie has spent much of her life first keeping her brother out of trouble, then bailing him out, so when he disappears in Alaska, she follows. The last thing she expected was, on finding him in a militia camp, to have her ex-boyfriend Logan suddenly appear to save them both - not least because they separated because he thought she went too far in trying to look after her family. Logan came to Alaska to find Jamie in the hope of reuniting, but he didn't expect to find her car near a fire he's helping fight, or to have to rescue her from a militia camp. But it soon becomes clear that they've made some nasty enemies, and the question of whether they can make a relationship work may be a moot point...

A great start to the series, with plenty of action and suspense, comradeship, and romance. I really enjoyed watching the smokejumpers and hotshots working together and clearly looking out for each other - a true team can be a wonderful thing, and I'm looking forward to seeing more of them through the series. But of course it was particularly good to see Logan and Jamie coming together again and facing the past to work out a way to make a future. The one negative thing I'd say is that the ending felt very abrupt - I would have liked another chapter to tie up their relationship with a bow (or something like that). And as for the underlying milita problem, well, that's still to play out in the rest of the series. So while it's a complete romance, there's a strong underlying suspense thread that you'll need to read the entire series in order to get fully. I hope to read the rest but was satisfied with the romance anyway.

Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.

What a great start to a new series focused on a team of smokejumpers stationed out of Alaska. This first book focuses on Logan, a smokejumper who joined mainly because he is looking for the woman he believes is the love of his life. He let her go a few years ago, and he has been looking for her ever since.

Jamie is that woman. Jamie also loves Logan, but she has a real hard time with him when he doesn't understand why she keeps stepping in the gap for her addict mother and wayward brother. I also wondered why Logan had such a problem with her family caring as well. It was the biggest obstacle between them. However, as I got to know Logan better, I did understand his feelings even if I didn't necessarily agree with him all the time.

Jamie's biggest issue was that she was very self-reliant and wanted to be in control too much. What I mean is that her heart was in the right place where her family was involved, but she needed to understand better that her brother and mother were adults that were making their own decisions. So, Logan was right to be concerned with Jamie.

I really got the feel for Alaska and all of its wildness and beauty including the dangers. Dangers made up of fires, wildlife, and unscrupulous men. I enjoyed the family team mentality and getting to meet the rest of the team which this series will showcase in their respective stories. There is a lot of backstories to uncover, present times intertwined, and futures at risk and I am looking forward to in this series. This was a great start to rekindling a romance while running away from or walking into danger in the wilds of Alaska.

I was provided a copy of this novel by the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review, and all views and opinions are my own.

I thoroughly enjoyed Burning Hearts by Lisa Phillips! A fast-paced page-turner that will keep you on the edge of your seat and a great start to a new series I love the dedication "To those who stand in the gap and beat back the flames. Thank you."

Jamie Winters came to Alaska to search for her brother Tristan. What ensues is an abduction, finding a dangerous militia compound, and Logan Crawford, the man she still loves. Logan relocated to Alaska's Midnight Sun smokejumpers to actually find Jamie. The search unwittingly leads his crew into a trap.

What a sizzling life and death journey, running towards fires, away from bad guys, and deciding if they were running to or from God.

Logan fought fires in Australia, Montana, and Canada before coming to Alaska. He felt like fighting fires is what he was born to do. "There was nowhere like Alaska. The whole landscape was like the proverbial black widow woman-beautiful and alluring, but underneath the surface, it was trying to kill you." "If he found Jamie, great. He'd do what he'd come to Alaska to do and tell her how he felt, how he'd always felt. If not, he still planned to jump headlong into every fire that came at them with the assurance this was what God had put him on this earth to do."

Jamie had a difficult upbringing and had always taken care of her brother. She doesn't let on, but she runs a wildly successful company. She still feels the need to help her Mom and her brother. It was something Logan disagreed with her about when they were dating.

Twists & turns, danger, friendships, and second chances. This is going to be a great series!

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for allowing me to read an early copy. All opinions are my own.

Everything in this book is an adrenaline rush of danger and some very scary moments, but that goes along with the job this team of smokejumpers has to do in Alaska. Add to that a woman hiking in the wilds of Alaska in search of her brother where she encounters a scary group, and you have some tense moments.

Jamie Winters is a protector, and she has always protected her brother and mother as they struggled with issues in their lives. She feels that it is her duty as a sister and daughter to help them because they cannot help themselves. Logan Crawford feels she is an enabler and needs to cut the strings. Their last meeting in Last Chance County did not go so well when he stated his opinion.

Logan Crawford knows he made a mistake, which is why he has transferred to Alaska's Midnight smokejumpers. He knows that Jamie is in Alaska looking for her brother, Tristan, and he intends to find her and hopefully win her heart.

The pace of this book was perfect with just the right amount of suspense to keep you waiting for the other shoe to drop and wondering what in the world was going to happen next. It was a merge of mystery, romantic chemistry, loving family (even when others in the world think them unlovable) and faith. Logan and Jamie can learn something from one another, but they have to learn to understand each other. I love all of the characters in this book, and I can't wait to see what adventure awaits in book 2 in this series.

Thank you to Sunrise Publishing for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

What a read! The first entry in the "Chasing Fire: Alaska" series is a page-turner! The reader, like the co-protagonists Logan and Jamie, dropped into the action near Mount Denali (though Logan parachutes in, and Jamie drives in). Logan and his team of smokejumpers are there to stop a fire, though when he is blown just a bit off course, he finds the girl he really traveled to Alaska for: Jamie. And Jamie? She's there to find her wayward brother, who seems to have gotten himself mixed up with a group of truly bad people. What exactly they're doing is a mystery, but it involves an armed compound as well as a trio of men who kidnap Jamie when they find her in the forest, with one in particular being quite vocal about his plans for her.

But Logan.

When the two of them are able to escape, without Jamie's brother, one might think that the trouble is behind them. As they travel and talk, the two discover that the barriers which ultimately divided them in the past might not be an issue anymore; and that in fact, there are important things connecting them that had been absent before.

But...they'll have to escape not only a fire or two but the dangerous men who haven't forgotten them. Suddenly not only a potential relationship, but their lives, are at stake.

I, for one, can't wait to dig into the remainder of the "Chasing Fire: Alaska" series as they're released! Lisa Phillips has penned an exciting and spirited start to the series. Keep your eyes out!

I received a copy of this book from the author. All opinions shared here are my own.

✨Book Review✨

“At one time he'd thought he would spend the rest of his life with her. But now it was time to let her go.”

Burning Hearts by Lisa Phillips is the start of the new series Chasing Fire: Alaska. We definitely start off with a bang to the series!

I love that we got to see Logan shine is in his own book. We first meet him in the Last Chance Fire and Rescue series as a secondary character, and I’ve been dying to get to know more about him. He such a great character to read about. Logan is such a loyal person, he switch squads just on a rumor that the girl he loves was up in Alaska! If that isn’t romantic I don’t know what is. He puts everything on the line for his squad and wants everyone just to make it home.

Jamie just wants to find her brother and bring him home. She has been the one to always take care of her brother. She wasn’t expecting Logan to show up and save her. And then stick with her as she tries to figure out what is really going on with her brother. I love reading and seeing Jamie and Logan’s relationship get back on the right track. Jamie’s character development is a relatable one.

Burning Hearts sets up the subplot for the rest of the series. I definitely can’t wait to read the rest of the series to see how it all ends. This was a quick read and you won’t want to put it down once you start.

These thoughts and opinions are my own. Thanks Sunrise Publishing and Lisa Phillips for the arc.

Fire jumping is exciting but this story has a lot more to offer!
Missing persons, mysterious compound, action, adventure, and more!
I'm always up for a good action and adventure story, and seeing as this one is set in Alaska, I knew it would be a good one!

This one definitely is one of those high-octane type of stories! The action starts at the very beginning, and keeps you reading until the very last page.

Logan had been trying for a long time to find Jamie, his ex-girlfriend, and the one he never got over. He finally finds her, only to find her on a mission of trying to find and save her brother Tristan.

Tristan is in with the militia. And then....Logan and Jamie find themselves being hunted down. By those same militia? Why?!

What exactly is going on?

There's some action, lots of bad guys chasing our good guys.

Oh! And lest I forget to mention, this is about smoke jumpers, so there are also wildfires and that kind of action going on!

This was a fun read, and I highly recommend it to anyone loving a good suspense novel!

I give this 4 1/2 Stars!

I want to start by saying I received an ARC of this book. This is a Christian romantic suspense book and book 1 in the series Chasing Fire: Alaska. The main characters are Logan and Jamie. Logan is a smokejumper and Jamie is a CEO. They dated in the past and broke up as she kept putting her family’s problem’s first. Jamie is looking for her brother to help him like always and ends up in danger. Logan ends up finding her and saves her. Will he be able to keep her safe when the people he rescued her come for her? Will Jamie come back to her faith and God and realize that He is in charge? That God has a plan and that she needs to let Him take charge instead of her trying to take charge all of the time. I loved Logan and Jamie together. It took me a little bit to like Jamie but I loved Logan from the beginning. Any man that packs up his life to find the girl he loves and try to win her back is swoon for me. I loved the team of smokejumpers and how they came together when someone needed it. There were a lot of side characters some I think were in another series and some will get books of their own. I do wish it would’ve had an epilogue or something but it was almost like a cliffhanger for the next book and couple. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more in this series as well as the other series.
