Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom #15

Gris Gris & Graveyard Ghosts

Rate this book
When the veil between worlds starts thinning across New Orleans, the Six Twisted Sisters find themselves facing an ancient evil that won't stay dead.

After Lia experiences a disturbing vision of spectral figures in a forgotten cemetery performing rituals with gris-gris bags that shouldn't exist, the sisters find themselves knee-deep in disappearing corpses, possessed shop owners, and spirits that flee at their approach—all whispering warnings about something called "The Collector."

But hunting a soul-devouring entity is just the beginning. They've also been hired to host the supernatural social event of the season at Willowberry Plantation. When they discover their client's advisor is possessed and the guest list includes descendants of a secret society that once bound The Collector during a yellow fever epidemic, the sisters quickly realize this party is no coincidence.

Racing against a celestial alignment that will empower their enemy, these magical mavens must recreate an ancient binding ritual before The Collector uses their gathering to harvest thirteen magical souls and permanently merge the realms of the living and dead. With their plantation sitting on a spiritual amplifier and the enemy possessing inside knowledge of their plans, the Six Twisted Sisters will need every ounce of their combined power to seal away The Collector and still pull off the perfect party.

Yet even as they celebrate their victory, a forgotten mask left behind by a mysterious guest suggests their supernatural troubles are just getting started—and everything they've faced so far might be part of someone's larger plan.

I really enjoyed this book- despite having not read earlier books of the series, (which i need to do desperately!) I don't often wish a book was a movie or TV show, because I'd very much prefer to read...but the banter and excitement would be fantastic to see on a screen!.

Once again New Orleans and the 6 Twisted Sisters: Lia, Dre, Phi, Dani, Dea, & Kota and their families as well Cami and the Council are in the thick of it. They found even more problems that have arose due to Baron Samedi’s magical storm. This time people are disappearing, and showing up dead or more. Even the cemeteries are even freakier than normal and that is saying something. Adele, their familiar helps them with the problem and gives them her usual advice. Their new party planning is for a group of the oldest families that are having a reunion, with members both mundane and supernatural in the mix. Funnily enough, these families are also in the thick of it. Calling on the Aegis Council as well as Marie (which makes me laugh and gives me the willies all at once) they get more info to stop the new Big Bad. I found this book to be very interesting as there were many different types of supernaturals and powers in the mix. The book is spooky and scary as all get out as the spirits of NOLA are not happy at all. (Even more upset than usual)

We see Det. Payne once again, and he gives them some insights and a heads up a few times. I’m glad I wasn’t reading this at night, because I probably would’ve had some weird dreams, or nightmares from what happens within this book. It upset me a lot, you’ll see why. But, the fight scenes and the love of the Twisted Sisters makes the book so worth reading. There are a few new characters that I hope we will continue to see as they are fascinating and I love them.

I had the AC on for the fear sweat as well as the oomph scenes between Lucas, Noah and their mates. There is just something about them that is hot, even without any mega sex scenes. I chewed on my nails a lot during this book. I also laughed a lot and cried some, too. We get to see Kaveh, the Djinn leader, and Kaitlyn using their powers together and let me just say wow. Putting together the puzzle of this book with the Twisted Sisters was awesome. I can’t wait to see what happens next and I want another crossover, lol.

the family that slays together, stays together.

I really love the individual and group dynamics in the Twisted Sisters series.

They sisterhood struggles and bonds are very mundane relatable, with cool and interesting supernatural stuff thrown in, for more adventures and interest.

it's the bonds in the face of joys and hardships that have drawn me in, and kept me readi, book after book.

as a more than forty something myself, it's empowering and fascinating to eatch these ladies kick butt, and sometimes get their butts kicked as well.

powerful, relatable, and interesting explorations of magical theeats, skills bonda, and very human fears, weaknesses and limitations of bodies, skills hearts and minds.

loving another book in the collection of adventures!

The Sisters are really in a pickle this time! From Dahlia's first 'smell-a-vision' graveyard visit up until the very end, the group is not sure they are going to be able to 'save the world' this time. An ancient being has been trying to get out of his prison for years, and Baron Samedi's magical hurricane has given it the rifts in the veil between life and death that it needs to break free. The families that imprisoned it long ago have been being picked off one-by-one and the knowledge of the original binding lost or destroyed. It is up to the Six Twisted Sisters to find what and who they need to keep it contained. They are going to get really tired of dark underground tunnels and rooms before it is over with. I was given a free copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

The Twisted Sisters just can't catch a break!

Party planning for a multifamily gathering takes on a dark twist when the Twisted Sisters face their deadliest opponent yet. Old enemies show up unexpectedly while the sisters face an entity that has been working for years to seek it's revenge.

I love how no matter how big the issue, or how complicated the solution, the sisters work together to make things happen and get things done. Each story is filled to the brim with action, adventure, sass, and a plethora of characters both old and new.

I read this book while sick in bed... It was THAT good! Mind you, cold meds and an amazing story certainly made for interesting dreams. LOL

Gris Gris & Graveyard Ghosts is book 15 of the Twisted Sisters Midlife Maelstrom series. This time the sisters are up against "The Collector". Different factions must work together if they are to have any chance winning against the ancient soul-devouring evil. I enjoyed this story as I do all of them.
Brenda Trim and Chris Cain have once again written an entertaining story you can lose yourself in. They write amazing and imaginative paranormal stories that are full of action, fun and lots of sarcasm.

I love this series. The characters are amazing, the twisted sisters, friends, family, etc. Evil comes to town, the sisters have to come together with others to be able to win the fight. This book has it all; family, friends, paranormal, suspense, thrills - pretty much anything you could want in a story. I couldn't put the book down, it drew me in very quickly and I was sunk. No way I could stop reading!.

TWISTED SISTERS MIDLIFE MAELSTROM:
GRIS-GRIS & GRAVEYARD GHOSTS, #15 - Having only read the first book of this series, it didn't matter that I missed books two through fourteen. This book had me immersed in the intriguing story lines, interesting characters, and fast-paced happenings. It doesn't matter the series, Ms. Trim is a kick-a## storyteller. Source: Booksprout. 5*

PACKING SERIOUS MAGICAL MOJO - I love this author and am unhappy that I didn't start this series in 2022. There are many books in this series now. Six sisters that get along well, each with her own strengths, a bit of magic and ghosts, and plenty of humor. Fun characters, interesting story lines and a good pace made for a relaxing, entertaining way to while away a couple of hours. Source: The author. 5*
TWISTED SISTERS MIDLIFE MAELSTROM end.

FORTY, FIRED, & FIGHTING DEMONS Series:
Source: Booksprout.
SECRETS OF SALTCLIFF, #1 - I've read other books by Ms. Trim and this book is just as funny and entertaining. Good characters, although I did get tired of Eliza's mouth here and there, especially, in dangerous situations. Good story lines. Good humor. Good action. Plenty of magic. No vulgar language or sex. An intro paragraph to the next book is included, which reads like a lot more fun is on the way. 4*

THE WITCH'S FIXER UPPER, #2 - I hurt myself laughing throughout this book. But I was so immersed in the intrigue, the action and the lifestyle of this family and friends. Good suspense, ya know they're gonna win but just how .... Mimi is a trip, but she has the right to be sumting udder else. Good story lines. Great characters. Don't read the intro to the third book; it's not available yet, so you'll be sorry, I am. Drats. 5*

HAMMERS & HEXES, #3 - One. thing Ms. Trim can do is write an action filled book with good characters, intriguing story lines, and plenty of opened cans of whoopbutt. Complex, but with good humor, and plenty of unexpected surprises made for a fun read. Small use of vulgar language. 5*

AT THE GATES OF HELL, #4 - This addition does not disappoint. The ending is not a cliffhanger but there's more to come. Good characters. Good story lines. Good action and pace. 4*

I’ve read 15

Am I still love them? These are really good books. Those supernatural things that come with up with our kind of freaky and crazy and it just is so much fun to read. I know there’s a new one out but right now I’ve read the first 15 and I still love every single

Oh, my goodness this book was so good! But then again whenever I pick up a book that is written by Brenda Trim, I can't put it down. And one with the Twisted Sisters I know for sure I am going to love it.

It's so hard to comprehend that this is book #15. This book and the rest of the Twisted Sisters series is set in a city that I have always wanted to visit but never got the chance. I'm so glad that the author wrote a series in New Orleans. If you like paranormal and action-packed books, then you will love this series.

The characters are amazing and the way the sisters are bonded together makes the story very enjoyable. Such a close-knit group of sisters. There is never a dull moment in this series.
I highly recommend this series and all of the authors books.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
