She’s everything I didn’t know I wanted—and everything I wasn’t prepared to lose.
Letting my parents choose my bride was the logical choice. Sensible. And the bride they picked for me couldn’t have been more perfect.
My prospective marriage, like the rest of my life, was finally all tied up in a neat little package. Exactly the way I like it.
Until she stumbled into my life.
Audrey Bowers is unexpected, inconvenient, and messy. The opposite of how I like my well-ordered life.
And yet, I can’t avoid her or my reaction to her. Another woman wears my ring, but I can’t get Audrey out of my head—or my heart.
But someone else is obsessed with Audrey, too. Someone with far more nefarious intentions than a few stolen glances and burning touches.
Now it’s up to me to keep her safe and keep my hands to myself - or risk losing both the woman I’m falling in love with… and the woman I promised to marry.

OMG,Cuffs and Cupcakes was só much fun to read!! ….and i’m not saying that because i got the ARC,it really was that good, honestly. David’s sister Audrey was such a sweetie, beautiful inside and out,and always thinking of others. Mason may have started out engaged, but only because didn’t think he’d ever find the ONE. And he’d asked his parents to find someone they thought would be good with him. Yasmine, his fiancée, wasn’t just beautiful on the outside, she was just as beautiful on the inside. The only problem she had,was that she was cursed…..and would never find her ONE. I think it’s not really a curse, but more a matter of being a matchmaker, but that could be me…. (Anyway, her story is next,so i guess we’ll find out more in Security and Submission in June) She breaks off the engagement when she doesn’t feel “the spark”,and sees the attraction between Mason and Audrey. David is having trouble seeing his best friend build a relationship with his sister. Not just that, but one that involves her exploring kink! On top of that, his grandmother Brenda is up to a LOT of mischief! That woman is a hoot, and i want to be her when i grow up!!
But it’s not all fun and games…..there’s trouble at work, and not only at Mason’s job. Devlin is still up to his awful tricks, and while the new recruit,Zeus still gets the benefit of the doubt, they’re not 100% sure he’s loyal. Plus,Zeus seems to have hooked up with Noelle (you remember that bitch, right?) but luckily only for a little while…. Then there’s trouble at Aubrey’s newly opened bakery,Cupcakes and Crumbs. Don’t worry, business is going well, extremely well in fact, but there are notes…. And not just notes containing awful messages,no they’re followed by threats, vandalism and her ex. Oh yes,her cheating no good ex shows up,too! Luckily,Audrey has friends now….and Mason.
All in all,it was a most entertaining story to read. And it got the happy after Audrey and Mason deserved. Most of the problems were solved, but not all. And Yasmine…..that girl deserves a man that will give her everything that she’s been wishing for,and more. Plus….Brenda,i hope she keeps David on his toes a little longer, because i’m loving it!
This Black Fox Security Doms series is shaping up to be a solid, enjoyable read. I’m really loving the interconnected stories, the continued character development, and the larger arc of the agency itself. Golden Angel does what she does best…building a rich, immersive universe that makes you want to stay awhile.
Going into this story, especially after the last story, I honestly wasn’t sure how Mason was going to get himself out of the pickle he found himself in. But leave it to Golden Angel to resolve a complicated situation in a way that works for everyone with empathy, care, and emotional intelligence.
That said, while I enjoyed Audrey and Mason as a couple, their story felt a bit rushed. There was plenty of interaction between them, but I wanted more depth around how their emotional connection formed and why their feelings became so strong so quickly.
However, I absolutely loved the found-family aspect in this story. Watching the entire team rally around Audrey was genuinely touching. And listen… Golden Angel knows exactly what she’s doing with those dangling threads…because I am very invested in whatever is going on with Grandma and Mick, and I need answers about Zeus immediately.
Even with my wish for more depth for the spotlight couple, Audrey’s personal journey was beautiful to read. Seeing her find her voice, confidence, and self-respect added real emotional weight to the story and made her arc incredibly satisfying.
And Mason? OMG. Total sweetheart. He’s steady, thoughtful, and exactly right for Audrey…proof that intimacy built on trust, care, and communication can be just as powerful as anything else.
And then there’s the ending. No spoilers, but WOW…I didn’t see that coming. The last few chapters had me slowly forming suspicions… and then bam. That reveal landed perfectly.
This series is just fantastic. Golden Angel writes BDSM romance/security company/suspense/with every kind of diversity, age, race orientations, with wit, compassion and hilarity. Grandma is comstantly making me actually bursting out laughing out loud in almost every scene she is in. I’m a huge fan of this author, and this story does not disappoint. There are Easter eggs and cameos from Stronghold (a dom in DC, ha!) and even fro earlier in this series. Honestly, this truly is a stand alone, you don’t need to have read anything g to get fully on board and into this universe. But, may I recommend them? There is so much found family, a reminder that there is good in this world, and I really, really needed to escape the horror of living in the US right now. And the reminder that when we all fight for each other, that is when we are at our best. And that we CAN have love and laughter. Highly recommend this book, series, and author
This is the second book in the Black Fox Security Doms series. Audrey and Mason's story is very cute. The dilemma of the engagement to Yasmine is obviously here but it is not a love triangle, and there is no OW drama. There's no love and no drama between Mason and Yasmine and their couple would have been so so boring! We can feel Mason becoming alive as soon as he meets Audrey. Brenda is still a delightful unconventional grandmother. The mystery subplot deepens with Devlin's actions. All the ingredients for a good read !
This is the second book in this series, and this is Mason and Audrey’s story. Mason has settled to marry a women that his family, chose for him, that is until Audrey crashes into his life. This is a well written story with family dynamics, emotions, suspense, mystery, intrigue, obsession, acceptance, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an entertaining page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.
If you like a little angst, a lot of drama, some definite smexy times and all the love then Cupcakes and Cuffs is a must read! I absolutely loved seeing some old friends and make many new ones! Cannot wait for the next one!
Golden Angel does it again! I did not want to put this book down. Mason and Audrey made a great couple even if they fought it at first. There was the humor you’d expect from Brenda that broke up some of the intense moments. There was the right amount of suspense that still tangles in the overall mystery of Devlin that still needs to be unraveled in the series. I’m so happy Mason was finally able to get out of his head. And Audrey - her family dynamics make you want to push for her happiness and happy ending so bad. Great lead up to Yazmine’s book too. Can’t wait for the next book!!!!
With just the right amount of suspense, an attraction at first sight, and Hot AF sexy times this tale had me turning the pages while smiling and fanning myself. Audrey and Mason were in their heads a lot but at least we knew what they were thinking. I even liked Yasmine and though I had wondered if the engagement break up would turn me off of the new match it was handled with grace and kindness. Great extra sexy read!
Another fantastic book! Brenda aka grandma had me laughing till I cried! I can’t wait for the next book in the series! Loved every character, with the exception of certain people. I don’t want to say who and spoil it for those who haven’t read it yet. Great job again Golden Angel!
This book started out a little tame. Good love story. Laughs, tears, spicy. I look forward to reading Security and Submission. Golden Angel never disappoints!!
Darn. This one was lightweight in a way that didn’t work for me. An example: it seems like every descriptor that Audrey uses is either “great” or “amazing,” and none of her interior thoughts or observations show any real depth. No one does, really, and the conflict is even more 2-dimensional. I still love Angel and her alter-ego Ange, but this one was disappointing.
An amazing mix of storyline, romance and plot , mixed with golden Angels usual amazing writing. This was exactly everything I needed to read .
Also usual the side characters are the life of the party , zues especially catching my interest , as always I have finished this book absolutely needing the next one yesterday
This book focuses on Audrey and Mason and it is a super cute story. We get to see how Mason handles being engaged to one woman as he is falling in love with another and it is handled wonderfully and with no one ends up horribly hurt . Of course, things can’t all be easy so we have family drama and a threat to Audrey’s business to deal with as well.
Romance rating: 4. Sexy times rating: 3. The "teach me" trope is my favorite, so that combined with the mystery of who was harassing Audrey was fantastic. And I'd really like to eat a baklava cupcake, please. Zeus is fascinating, I can't wait until he gets a book. And Yasime is an amazing woman, I'm so curious who she'll get paired up with.
I loved this book. Second in the Black Fox Security Doms series. I loved the first and this does not disappoint. Mason and Audrey are perfect for each other. Even when they won't admit it. Audrey is starting a bakery, her dream. Joining her brother after her ex fiancee cheated in her. Totally unaware of her brothers lifestyle, she gets an abrupt awakening and welcome to the scene. It appears like Black Foxes troubles are rubbing of on her. Mason gets very protective, and the entire team are on alert. Things are complex, detailed and captivating. I loved this story. The characters are enthralling. I could not put this book down and I highly recommend it.
Mason has watched his friends find happiness. He is ready to settle down and start a family. But he needs help in finding the one. Having his parents arrange a match for him is perfect till he meets Audrey. She is David’s sister and is now here. She makes him feel things that he doesn’t feel for his fiancée. Audrey is getting a fresh start. Being near her brother is great. She finally gets to meet his team. When she meets Mason, he makes her feel weak. But he is engaged. When someone tries to scare her away, Mason makes it his job to protect her.
I do love this one. Mason thinking that he needs to settle down shows growth but to have his mother help arrange a marriage. And poor Yasmine. She thinks she is cursed when it comes to relationships. But honestly, she just hasn’t found the right man. When you read how these two are not even close to compatible, it was the right thing to do to end the engagement before it even began. Mason trying to not get close to Audrey was just pushing them closer. I love that Audrey was learning a whole new world. She was even open to learning about BDSM and having Mason teach her. That was their pushing point. I had my suspicion about who doing the scaring but was also surprised. These two didn’t rush with their relationship.
Zeus is a new add on and he has secrets. Looking forward to learning more about him. You knew something was off with Noelle. There is a story with Alexis and I wonder if it will be with Zeus. Brenda is a trip. She just cracks me up. Is she really in a relationship with Mick? And who will be the one to break Yasmine’s curse?
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Each new book that Golden writes is better than the last! This is not exception. The character development is more than 3D – like 4D or HD or UHD???? The story will draw you in but hang on for a wild ride! You will not see what is coming on the next page!!
Audrey is the perfect mix of confidence and insecurity – such a realistic and relatable combination. None of us are 100% badass or 100% insecure 100% of the time. It can get really annoying to read and hard to relate to characters who fall into one of those categories. My favorite quote: “She wondered if there were kinky people in Kansas. In which case, saying she wasn’t in Kansas anymore wouldn’t really make sense. Not that she’d ever been to Kansas….”
Mason is hilarious! He overthinks absolutely everything, which shouldn’t be too surprising with his psych training and background. At least he doesn’t jump to toooo many conclusions. Well, at work anyway; the same cannot be said about his relationships with women. My favorite quote: “…she said [it] was ‘dark romance’ (sounded like kidnapping to him, but he understood the capture fantasy aspect of that)…”
Grandma Brenda – I WANT TO BE HER!! To finally be in a place in my life where I am 100% me and don’t give a fig what anyone else thinks. I can’t remember who said: “Mafia grandmothers, all of them.”
It was so fun to return to the Outlands, but I wished there had been a cameo with Master Gavin or Leah. Really, Leah joining in a conversation with the subs would have been great! That is the only thing I can think of that would have made the book better.
Families do not always have our best interests at heart and this was certainly true for David and Audrey. David had already cut ties with his parents but now Audrey needs a break after they keep encouraging her to go back to her cheating fiancé. Opening a bakery is her dream so she moves to be close to her brother and grandmother, the irrepressible Brenda.
Mason is David’s best friend and works with him at Black Fox security. Mason wants to get married but has asked his parents to arrange a marriage which they did and on paper he and Yasmine are perfect for each other. But on the very day he announces his engagement, he is struck by Cupid’s arrow when he sees Audrey. Audrey feels the same but Mason is engaged so she has to admire from afar. Then someone starts to threaten her beloved bakery and inevitably she and Mason are drawn together. Audrey is a neophyte when it comes to kink but Mason patiently and carefully introduces her and awakens the sub she really is.
There is also underhanded dealings going on at Black Fox and everyone seems to be pointing the finger at Zeus but is he really to blame. There are lots of Easter eggs in this story and lots of chuckles with Brenda. The ending is lovely and the epilogue gives us a hint of Yasmine’s future and I hope we will find out about Zeus as well.
If you don't count the sorta-prequel Homewrecker, Cuffs And Cupcakes is the second book in Golden Angel's Black Fox Security series. Mason is ready to settle down, start a family, get on with his life. He makes the sensible decision and asks his parents, who know him better than anyone, to arrange a marriage for him. Mason's parents get together with Yasmine's parents and strike the deal. Yasmine and Mason are already well-acquainted friends, and want the same things out of life, so, even though there's literally zero physical attraction between them, their match looks perfect on paper. As soon as they announce their engagement to all their mutual friends, Mason meets Audrey, and there's a complete, mutual, instant physical and emotional attraction between them. And Mason, being the honest, sincere, chivalrous person he is, is determined to honor his promise to marry Yasmine. And the story evolves from there. A few months ago I read the "pre-sale blurb" about this book - and I've been anxiously awaiting how Golden Angel would resolve this conundrum. And, as usual, Golden Angel scores with Cuffs And Cupcakes and all the touchpoints you could want (and that I love): very well developed characters and character lines; a mystery to solve; a feisty Grandma; laugh-out-loud dialogue; sexy, protective, alpha doms; curvy, innocent subs; scorching high heat BDSM and kink; an amazing circle of supportive friends you wish you were a part of; emotional yearning and angst; all wrapped up in a really well-written story line. Yasmine's story is next, in the Security and Submission book. Can't wait to visit these characters again!
I was given a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. All thoughts and opinions expressed are strictly my own.
Mason, serious and reserved, thought asking his parents to arrange his marriage was ideal. When he meets David’s sister Audrey, he is hit by the immediate attraction between them and cannot stop thinking about her. Problem is he is engaged to Yasmine. She believes she is ‘cursed’ around relationships and when she realises there is no spark between them and they are more like brother and sister, decides to break up. She already predicts what will happen between Mason and Audrey but asks Mason not to let her see him with someone else for a month at least.
I loved how Audrey wanted to move forward with her life away from her controlling parents and loved her innocence around the kink scene. Hilarious to have well known smutty books mentioned including those by the author :- ) When threatening notes start being left at Audrey’s bakery Mason steps in to protect her. A hated character from the Masters of Marquis series reappeared the previous book and after her actions here I really hope that is the last we have seen of her. It was so sexy that Mason lost control with Audrey, being that he is so ordered. As ever I want to be like Brenda when I grow up. Cannot wait for Yasmine’s book next.

Cuffs and Cupcakes have been a simply wonderful read, the characters are simply great David’s sister is a sweet and beautiful both inside and out and she is always very aware of their wants and needs. David has a sister Audrey who os truly wonderful and Mason may have started out as engaged but had never believed that he would ever find that one special person in his life. It was in fact saif that she was cursed and that she would never be able to find her one, then as Master Mason and Audrey show they are in love and the chemistry that they have between each other is off the charts. Everything is not simply Cuffs and Cupcakes and it becomes apparent that keeping an eye on Audreys chemistry and managing her boundries. This is a simply wonderful read and I guarantee that readers will be as blown away as I was by this wonderful book. I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the wonderful writing.
This is a cute love-story with nice entry-level bdsm spice. I'm very invested in the team and Golden Angel shines with her ability to write incredibly good found-family stories that make me invested not just in the main characters but in the side characters as well.
I am SO ready for Zeus' story!! I will say, Yasmine was a bit annoying in this one and I'm glad her book is next so we can get the whole "curse" thing solved, but I just know Golden won't disappoint me... Yasmine just needs a good dom to get that straightened out. Perhaps with impact toy. It'll be cathargic for me lol
Brenda is a hoot, of course... but the book club talking about real-life books took me out of the story. It felt a bit too marketing-y, especially when it's Angel's own books (or those of her other pen name) that are being mentioned.
Still, overall, 5 stars because it's a great story with a solid plot, good spice, and a cute HEA. :) I will devour the rest of the series for sure.
One of my favouite lines in the story: "That’s when his control snapped. He kissed her back, because he had to. Because once he got a taste, he needed more." Audrey and Master Mason's chemistry is intense. But all is not cuffs and cupcakes! Keeping an eye out for your best friend while exploring his sister's boundaries is not easy. And keeping track of family tricks, resolving work troubles, and hoping that loyalty is not questioned are only part of the actions that Mason has to contend with. His attraction to Audrey is not in doubt, but his sanity just may be.
Even though this is book 2 in the series, it is very much a standalone, HEA romance, although there is an overarching story arc that flows through. This is Mason and Audrey's story and the best description I can come up with is sunshine. Audrey is sunshine. I love the alternating points of view as it gave insight into Mason and really cemented them in my mind as a couple. While this is very much their story, there are wonderfully rounded out side characters who I hope get their own HEA's that make the characters believable and the story so easy to read.
This was a delightful story. At first, I thought it was going to be a love triangle but the more I read, I realized that it wasn't that. Audrey is a very likeable character and I loved her so much. This is the second book in the Black Fox Security Doms series and I'm eagerly waiting for more. Golden Angel always knows how to write what her readers crave. Mason and Audrey have a wonderful story!
