Grace In Progress

Rate this book
To Grace, death isn't just about losing someone.

It’s about making memories while they’re still here, and reflecting on them once they are gone.

When Grace’s mother packs up and moves them across country to live with her grandparents, Grace takes the changes in her stride, somewhat. When her absentee father shows up unexpectedly it throws her for a loop, and she doesn’t know what to think. It isn’t until her mom tells her she’s dying, that Grace is truly tested.

How can she be strong for the one she loves, when her life is crumbling around her?

With the help of her family, Grace discovers she’s stronger than she ever thought she was. But with her life taking such a sharp curve, will she be confronted with finality, or will she find that when one door closes, several more open?

I love this book so much I devoured it! I just couldn't stop reading!
It's written very well that it just flows perfectly from one chapter to the next and before you know it you've finished! The story is amazing!
It's beautiful, passionate, and emotional... It'll have you laughing, crying, falling in love, then wanting more!
Grace and her mom move back to the home her mother grew up in when Grace finds out her mom is really sick... Grace also meets her grandparents for the first time and along the way she makes a new friend with Storm a friend of the family.
The characters are fantastic...
I like that they're there for each other always helping out, their strength they possess when faced with hard times amazes me.. You never know how strong you can be until being strong is all you have.. I love that they find faith and hope when they had all but given up on it!
You just want to reach in and hug these characters hard and tell them it's going to be ok!
The book has good qualities..... A strong storyline, amazing characters, and details that make you feel like you're connected to the book and it's characters! The story is beautiful because it's something we can all relate to!
My only regret is I read it too fast... When the ending came I wasn't ready to let the characters go!
This book and it's story had a hold of my heart and had me in tears. I won't be forgetting it!
I'll definitely be re-reading and sharing with all my friends!
It's a MUST READ!!!!!

6+ star read.

I will start out with a warning for this book. Do not read it in public!! I was reading it on a plane and the person next to me gave me a weird look when I started to cry. Oh and have plenty of Kleenex ready.

Ms. Warren does a phenomenal job of writing characters that you will be so invested in that you won't want to let them go at the end of the story. We meet Grace who in a few short months has so much thrown at her. Moving, devastating news about her mother, a family she never knew and a boy who makes her feelings run hot and cold. Be prepared to follow Grace on her emotional rollercoaster. She becomes she a strong girl as she has to deal with all of this. Storm is also a broken soul that has dealt with tragedy in the past. He is railroaded by Grace and doesn't quite know how to handle her. As she is grief stricken he helps Grace deal with it.

This story is so realistic that it will break you heart into pieces and slowly put them back together. It was a hard read because it dealt with a person in their last dying days and how the family came together and coped with it. I cried so many times during this story that I lost count. In the end you learn about how love, family and faith help deal with tragedy.

If you want to be invested in a story then this is the book for you. I have read Ms. Warren's other books and she always writes characters that will never leave your thoughts after you have finished the story.

this is quite the emotional read, it's the first book about losing a loved one that I've read since losing my father. The book is about a young woman named Grace who finds out her mother is dying of cancer. Grace slowly falls apart watching her mother deteriorate and then learns how to trust God and to accept the inevitable. this is a very emotional story that anyone can relate to that has lost a loved one.
