Sisters of the Broken Veil

Wow, just when we thought this amazing series had to come to the end, we're gifted with another adventure! This is book 8 of the Silver Sisters and highly suggest reading the previous for the full history and evolution of all.

In this installment, the Silver Sisters are somehow transported through time into the future, about 40 years. A very bleak future that is. Maeve's son is the High Inquisitor whom is hellbent on removing magic and removing those that use magic. The future is not something the sisters would have wanted of course, not to mention magic dampeners installed all over town that cause extreme illness if magic is attempted or magic users run into an internal block of sorts not able to access their magic. Many or most areas of magic were destroyed as well.

The sisters find the magic school basement is the only area not destroyed and get to work trying to resolve the current situation while in their original time, Brock, Carafina and Fawn attempt to understand what happened and find a solution.

This story is mind-blowing good with a dual, well told description of the current time versus the time in the future and those now 40 years older. While our Silver Sisters have stayed the same, their loved ones have not, of course. Sibby's daughter, now an adult, finds her Mom and had escaped to Fae lands with her Dad, Brock had almost lost his mind when his mate, Alys, disappeared and Kal, Maeve's husband, has passed. Many, if not all of our important characters are featured in some way. Will the Sisters be able to find their way back? Can they change this bleak future they were transported to and who or what actually transported them?

Is this the BEST of the series? Not an easy question to answer however, this may be the only series that was able to successfully continue an almost ended story in a very successful way. Such a FANTASTIC series!

First off, thank you so much to Jennifer L. Hart for gifting me a copy of the audiobook! I can’t express what an absolute honor this was. Now for my honest review…

I didn’t realize how much I missed the Silver Sisters until I started listening. The narrator’s voice immediately pulled me back in, and it truly felt like coming home to old friends. I am completely obsessed with this series, and this one reminded me why.

One small thing I’ll lightly nitpick is one repeated phrase that popped up across multiple characters, which occasionally pulled me out of the moment. It wasn’t a deal-breaker by any means, just something I noticed.

Overall, the direction this story took really got to me. I laughed, I cried, I wanted to scream! There were moments that genuinely broke my heart. The ending especially left me sitting with a lot of feelings.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to experience this story, and I cannot wait to see where these characters go next. Thank you again!

Wow! Brilliantly written!
I can’t get enough of reading about The Silver Sisters and all their amazing adventures/troubles.
This story had me reading non stop, feeling like I’d come home and was catching up with loved ones.
So many characters from previous books played such a large part in this time travel story plus the action, magic and danger they went through added another element to this story.
Such a fantastic storyline, emotional at times with a great ending that leads us into the next story, which I’m really excited to read next.

This series is just so much fun! Ms. Hart takes us back to Witch Way…and beyond…in another brilliantly creative tale. The sisters are swept away to a greatly changed future version of Eckhart, where they must fight for their lives. This story has a fabulous plot and very nicely developed characters. Filled with nonstop action, it’s a difficult one to put down. Highly recommended! I enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the next in the series. Oh wow. I didn't think this series could get any better but I was so wrong. I loved this book when I read it on my kindle but listening too it as an audio book is even more magical and exciting. What's even better, well sort of, is there's going to be another book because the story isn't over (yes two books make up one giant adventure). I just hope the wait for the next book isn't a long one. The Silver sisters might have found there mates and be happy but life (and magic) is about to throw them another big curve ball, one they might not be able to come back from.

This review is really hard to write without giving anything way, so I will just say I loved the characters and the characters who we get to knew from a new perspective. The story is told by multiple characters as there is a lot of unfolding elements to the story but it is so well written that it never got confusing and flowed along nicely. The story was so captivating and moved at such a fast pace, with everything going on, that I didn't want to stop reading until I had reached the very end then I got to the end and I have to wait anyway. Eagerly waiting for the next book, so the adventure can continue.

When Maeve's birthday celebrations goes wrong it has the sisters waking up in a strange new reality. It might feel like the home town Alys, Maeve, and Siobhan were born in but something is very wrong. What was a thriving town only moments ago is now a run down shell of itself. With soldiers marching down the streets. Magic is band and not having there magic to rely on the sisters will have to stay one step ahead of the soldiers if they hope to return to there lovers one. Only there loved aren't as far away as they think.

I like the narrator. Magic is a big component of this story, so it hard not to compare the narrator with being able to weld her own magic and cast a spell over the listener. She is that good.
