Four masked men hunt Lux in the night, can she survive the night and walk away $10m richer? And if she does manage to survive will she be able to walk away?

Short, spicy, and oh so bloody Red Lace Manor was a fast paced horror romance with ex-military MMCs. Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon were experimented on by the government in an effort to turn them into the perfect super soldiers… instead they became bloodthirsty monsters who must hunt a willing victim once a month to survive.

I love absolutely everything Erin Mersey writes and although this deviates from her usual works it isn’t any different in that I absolutely loved it!! Scary and gory in the best way and I honestly had no idea what was going to happen next.

Spoiler: There is a HEA if that’s something you need to know before diving in!

OMG that’s all I can say!

Not only was this book hot as hell but I devoured it in 2 hours.

Cassian and Ronan were by far my favorites of the story! Every scene was erotic and beautifully written making me want more! I couldn’t put the book down at all! This is my first read of Erin and I most definitely plan on reading more from her! If you love a good dark erotic story this one is most definitely for you!

This was my first time reading an Erin Mersey book and it definitely wont be my last.

the dedication alone is what prompted me to sign up to be an ARC reader because who wouldn't want to after reading "To the girlies who want MULTIPLE masked men to hunt them for sport and fuck them like an animal-get help. But first read this book because me too" it had me sold from the start

this book although short was absolutely incredible! the Four genetically built monsters hunting Lux in a wild cat and mouse game for her to try and survive until sunrise and win $10m and if she does she gets the option to stay to be their bride, it was bloody, it was sexy and left me flustered multiple times, each of the guys where described in perfect detail so you got the vibe for how each one would act and react towards her and the game, i think my favourite has to be Cassian, although i loved them all he just stood out to me

thank you Erin for giving me this opportunity to read for you

PHENOMENAL. AMAZING. 10/10. I signed up for this ARC thinking “what the hell? I’ve read dark books this sounds cool” OMG WAS I RIGHT this was my first Erin Mersey book and I will 1000% be hunting down all of her books to finish. I LOVED the dual POV and getting to be in everyone’s heads. But the immediate ownership Seth takes over Lux had me MELTING. As far as spice goes 5/5. Story line 5/5. This book will have you BEGGING for more I finished it in 2 hours and didn’t put it down not one time.

Red Lace Manor was a lot different than Erin’s previous books! This one had masked men and a cat and mouse game and who doesn’t love that? Each ‘super soilder’ had a different kind of vibe. They bring this girl onto the manor with all intentions to k!ll her off but they realize she just as crazy as them! I did enjoy this one!

Read this because I needed/wanted a spicy Halloween novella and someone on threads recommended this one. What a WILD ride! I haven’t read another novella quite like this one before and I had the greatest time. It definitely scratched the itch I needed scratching, so if you’re in the market for a spooky novella for halloween - check this one out!

I honestly really loved this book. Red Lace Manor is an amazing book if you're looking for something that isn't too long, very spicy, 4 masked men, and HEA!!

I loved the love interests, their back stories and how they were all different in their characteristics to their personalities yet somehow the same. This book was nothing short of thrill and spice with a really good plot. And the writing is also honestly amazing!

I do however wish we got to see more glimpses into the men, their past, and more vulnerable moments of them opening up to the MC about it, and more cute moments between all of them. This is the first book I've read that I wished was longer because the plot was honestly really good and with the love interests having ran away from the government it would be nice to see some drama where they came after them and they had to fight against the government and try to keep their little light safe ofc in the end having their hea, due to it being a shorter book it was fasted paced which I do love but it was so good that it left me wanting more!!

This is the first book I've read from Erin Mersey and certainly not the last. Thank you Erin for the opportunity to be an ARC reader. I couldn't recommend this book more!!

This book was fantastic!!! From the very beginning this book stole my attention. FMC is abducted and placed in a game of survival. She must survive until sunrise, while being hunted by 4 masked men in the dark in a place she is unfamiliar with. The only catch is if they find her, they get to "play" with her.

It was a super fast read! I want more!

Probably closer to 3,5 stars. Review contains some spoilers! If the premise sounds fun to you (and it definitely is!), I suggest going in blind.

I wanna start off by saying, Red Lace Manor has a lot of amazing things going for it! The writing is absolutely beautiful, and it paints a vivid picture of what you're reading. The characters are unique and interesting, and the concept is to die for!

Red Lace Manor is great to pick up if you're looking for a quick, easy, and engaging read with constant action. You get very few moments to 'breathe' in it, and it never drags on. This also causes some of the main issues for me, however.

My biggest issue with the book was honesty

A secondary thing that sadly made me love the novella a bit less was the

Overall, I enjoyed the book for what it was. A fast-paced, unique concept with drool-worthy men (for my messed-up psyche). It wasn't perfect, but it was a good read you can easily snuggle up with on a rainy day.

Thoughts:
Before this, I had not yet read anything by Erin Mersey, although books had been on my TBR. I eagerly accepted the opportunity to read the Advance Reader Copy. It’s promoted as a thrilling narrative, and it mostly lived up to that description. This was a short story, but it could just as easily have been a full book, and I would have been just as hooked; In fact, I think it would have been better for the mystery and pacing. Still, though, I devoured this novella in hours. From the prologue to the end, it's beautifully written.

Even though I loved the book, I’ll admit that I felt a LITTLE disappointed after I’d finished, but only because I feel more was needed, and not because it was bad. Certainly not!
I have read my fair share of Dark Romances, and despite the masked, murderous men, it just seemed... toned down from what I thought it was going to be upon hearing about it.

The primal feel was great, but the explicit scenes could have been so much more with the four unique personalities, and we, as readers, could have benefited from Lux’s perspective during these scenes too. Considering there was more spice than the actual plot, which I don’t have an issue with, I’d have liked to read more distinctions between the scenes and men—For example, When the hunt first started, the JESTER appeared eerie, laughed a lot like a maniac, and pulled her hair back and kissed her so roughly that I thought he was going to be UNHINGED when he got to her, but he wasn’t that apart from the others. They all acted differently there, so it seemed a missed opportunity to really let their individualities shine more during their scenes.

A fast-paced story often reveals details too quickly; that was a minor problem for me during this read. The prologue opens with such a primal scene: masks still on at the end of a night, a woman NOT surviving, blood and gore, so it seemed we were lining up for a book of pure primal fear, mystery, excitement, and hunting without seeing the humanity of these men, at least not at first. However, with Lux, the masks came off quickly, and the men revealed their names, even though they supposedly don’t tell ‘the hunted’ their names. Their masked personas became pointless because the mystery was quickly dispelled; why hide at all just to reveal so fast? It also made it seem like she was immediately different from the other women who had the opportunity of the game before her. Some things also happened during this apparently important night that took away from the focus being on the hunt and on the men’s excitement to find someone who’d survive and accept; it was like the hunt was more of a second thought sometimes. (A random shower from one of them, for example…)

It would have been great to explore the men’s backstories more. We get snippets that seem important but never fully gone into. Why did they get released if they’re forged to be like weapons - especially when one seems worried that they’d be found out and dragged back…but they were released into the desert and left? Why do they feel the need to hunt on a lunar cycle, to be precise? Why does it stop when they find a bride? It was interesting to read about their features or the information Lux found, but then it felt dropped and left hanging, almost making me pine for more of that story.

But I loved the characters, loved the distinct personalities they had, which could work SO achingly well with better pacing. I love a good chase story, even better with the masks. It was hard not to fall in love with these characters and the story; I just really wanted more (but that’s a good sign!). If there were another story with these characters in, I'd jump to read it. Anyone looking for a quick, spicy read, this is a great choice. It's hot, it's somehow sweet, and it's all wrapped up in a delicious little book, just for you.

Quotes:
1.
“Dedication: To the girlies who want MULTIPLE masked men to hunt them for sport and fuck them like an animal— get help. But first! Read this book, because me too.”

2.
“Curves like these were made to kneel. Made to beg. Made to worship until the brink of disaster.”

3.
“What’s the matter, you terrible thing?” I tutted, shaking my head in disapproval. “Cat got your tongue? Maybe I should cut it out with the knife you stabbed me with.”

4.
“I was a man with a lab number where my soul should be, we all were, and she had the gall to suggest we were just lost?”

5.
“Forgive me father, for I'm about to sin.”

Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon are the four masked men who like to play one sinister game.

Lux has learned that if she survives until morning, she'll leave and be ten million dollars richer.

There's just one single problem, these four men, they don't just want her life – they want everything.

Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon feel the need to break her, to ruin her in every way possible, they want to ruin Lux in ways that she's only dreamed about.

Lux believed that making it would be a snap, she thought it would be easy like breathing, but what if their game doesn't actually end at sunrise?

Red Lace Manor is a standalone novella by Erin Mersey. It is an MFMMM which means that the FMC doesn't have to choose between any of the men. Please pay attention to the content warning found in the first few pages of the book, please read it prior to starting Red Lace Manor.

YOU'RE MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!!! Please read and pay careful attention to the trigger warning found at the start of the book. Some scenes and content may be unsuitable for some readers and could be triggers for other readers. Always remember that your mental health always comes first.

Tropes: Masked Men, Reverse Harem/Why Choose (No MM), K!lling Game, Quick Read, and CNC.

Red Lace Manor by Erin Mersey is a quick read standalone novella. I have read several of Erin Mersey's books and I have to say that this novella was fairly different than her other books. And I found it to be a very enjoyable read that had a lot of very dark themes. (Yes, I know what that says about me. I know, I am damaged and there's something wrong with me, I've said it before and I'm sure I'll be saying it again in the future). I felt like this entire novella was like a dark fever dream that 4 masked men had at the same time that was full of obsession, seduction, and even gothic insanity.

From the opening scene, you end up being dragged, and it's not gentle in any way, into this gothic world where pain and pleasure are distorted, where you find that desire ends up being wrapped up in fatal danger, where we see that no one, least of all our strong FMC, will get out untouched.

As we enter Red Lace Manor we learn that the manor itself is this crumbling estate that honestly feels like it's a character itself. It's dripping with a haunting atmosphere. All the hallways creak with secrets of their own, all the rooms are draped in velvet that hum with tension and angst. This setting, makes your skin prickle, and leaves you with goosebumps – it's a lush, eerie, and claustrophobic setting that is perfect for this story. And that's one of the things that I love about Erin Mersey, she never just writes a simple story – with every book she writes she gives you the perfect experience.

We first meet our four MMCs. And they are the Unholy trifecta. Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon are every dark romance reader's wet dream: they are obsessive, morally black (leaning pitch black), cruel with a precision that defies reality, yet they have this twisted kind and caring worship for our FMC. They want more than to just want her – the desire to own her body, mind, and soul. And watching as that possession slowly unfolds. Yes, it's immoral, and yet at the same time it's also delicious. And the 4 men, they refuse to apologize for who and what they are and the darkness that they live in – and eventually you realize that you don't want them to.

Lux our beautiful FMC on the other hand is no damsel in distress or just another passive victim. Yes, she's been wounded but she's also resilient, she has a curiosity about the 4 men that drives her on and she feels so real. You can see and feel her trauma and it's just palpable, her reactions feel real and they feel raw. It was amazing to watch her totally unravel under the complete weight of the manor – and all their touches – it felt like you were watching something that had been broken over and over again finally learn how to burn and glow.

And this wouldn't be an Erin Mersey book review without talking about the spice. This entire novella is pure sin put down on paper. Every one of the spicy scenes are purely decadent and they are twisted to be unhinged in the perfect way. Erin has never shied away from the kink in any of her books and she writes with the grace that elevates even the kinkiest unhinged steamiest scene so it never loses the grit that we all love and desire. The scenes in this book though, are going to leave you squirming in your seat, blushing for the FMC, and begging Erin to write just one more for this book. And then when you're done, you'll go back and reread a scene or two just to get your fill.

There is something though that really stuck with me more than how unhinged, steamy, kinky, and everything else that this book holds. There are these emotional layers to Seth, Ronan, Cassian, Solomon, and even Lux that stay with you through it all. Under the silk, chained wrists, the chase, this is really and truly a story more about grief, identity, and the true and terrifying power that comes with real connection. Erin has managed to balance a psychological depth of the mind and humanity with all the smutty indulgences like a master and in this book, she has truly written a master class in that art.

This book touches on so many different topics, trauma, captivity, manipulation, mental health, grief, personal identity, group identity, connection, and psychology. It truly is messy and it's not for everyone. This is a book that's full of emotional and psychological chaos that is layered and then covered in lust.

I can honestly say that if books could have babies this would be the lovechild of Haunting Adeline, the Ritual, and Gothikana, it would just be raised on velvet and fed on vengeance. Honestly, this book is a mix of poetry, perversion, and I can say honestly that it is a book that you'll never forget.

Red Lace Manor is a buyer-beware recommendation. This is one that you have to be very careful about reading. But, if you can handle the dark triggers, and your mental health can handle the darkness this novella contains then I say read it, it is unforgettable. Erin Mersery has written a master class on how to perfectly layer a book in Red Lace Manor.

And I have to recommend Erin Mersey as an author if you can handle the material that she writes. She is a brilliant author and I have loved everything of her's that I have read so far and I will continue to read everything of her's that I can get my hands on.

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
“Red Lace Manor” by Erin Mersey is a fever dream of obsession, seduction, and gothic madness — and I was absolutely feral for every word.

From the first page, I was dragged—not gently—into a world where pain and pleasure blur, where desire is wrapped in danger, and where no one, least of all the heroine, gets out unscathed.

Set in a crumbling, haunted estate that feels as much a character as the people within it, Red Lace Manor is dripping with atmosphere. Every hallway creaks with secrets, every velvet-draped room hums with tension. It’s the kind of setting that makes your skin prickle — lush, eerie, and addictively claustrophobic. Erin Mersey doesn’t just write a story — she crafts an experience.

And then there’s them.
The MMC’S? Unholy perfection. They are every dark romance reader’s wet dream: obsessive, morally gray (leaning black), cruel with precision, but always with a twisted kind want reverence for the FMC. They don’t just want her — they want to own her, body and soul. And the way that possession unfolds? Deliciously depraved. They make no apologies for their darkness — and you won’t want them to.

The FMC, on the other hand, is no passive victim. She’s wounded, resilient, curious, and so real. Her trauma is palpable, her reactions raw. Watching her unravel under the weight of the manor — and his touch — felt like witnessing a beautifully broken thing learn to burn.

Let’s talk spice.
This book is sin on paper.
The scenes are searing, decadent, and just the right level of unhinged. Erin doesn’t shy away from kink, but she writes it with a literary elegance that elevates the steam without losing the grit. You’ll be blushing, squirming, and begging for more. And then rereading. Twice. With a fan.

But what really stayed with me? The emotional layers. Beneath the blood-red silk and chained wrists is a story about grief, identity, and the terrifying power of connection. Erin Mersey balances psychological depth with smutty indulgence like a damn pro.

⚠️ CWs:

This book touches on trauma, captivity, manipulation, and mental health themes. It’s dark. It’s messy. It’s not for the faint of heart — but if you crave emotional chaos laced with lust? Welcome home.

In Summary:
If Haunting Adeline, The Ritual, and Gothikana had a twisted lovechild raised on velvet and vengeance, it would be Red Lace Manor. It’s poetic, perverse, and absolutely unforgettable

Haunted Mansions and scary woods. An abandoned chapel and an underground bunker. 4 men in masks, and 1 young lady fighting for her life. A horror erotica novel written by Erin Mersey that will leave your toes curling and the hairs on your neck standing up.

Lux is just your average young woman trying to make it in a world designed to break you when she finds herself waking up in a new unknown area surrounded by the horrors that could only exist in nightmares, until those nightmares become her reality. Chased through the woods, ran into the chapel, locked in a abandoned bunker and then corned in the spooky mansion, every second that ticks by sounds off as loud as her pounding heart as the young Lux fights to make it till sunrise. Can she do it? Or will she fall prey to her demons like all the others?

Seth, a masked man rejected by society finds himself in the comfort of 3 other society rejects who grow ravenous when the full moon hits. Ronan, Cassian and Solomon all have their own personal hells they face right alone side Seth and together they fight to feed their hunger. Until the unlucky Lux wanders into their path and they fight their urges to decide is her death worth taking, or can she handle the hell their lives have become and love them through their pain?

Red lace manor brought to life some of my own personal fears and darkest desires with the novella that was written. Leaving me practically screaming for more and hyperventilating as I turned the pages questioning what horrors awaited next. Every turn, every twist left me breathless and desperate panting like a thirsty wolf ready to devour her next meal. This book was phenomenal, well written and I have never wished a book to be longer so bad in my life. But this one, if there ever was, a horror novel to leave me questioning my own sanity, this one did it. I loved it, and I pray she does continue the series and gives us more information on these characters, cause lord knows, I am eager to see what created these monsters.

Until the next one,

Muah 💋

Oh. My. God. Red Lace Manor is exactly the dark thrill ride I didn't know I needed. I honestly did not expect to love this book so much! Even the dedication had me hooked - yes, I definitely do need help, but also… Can I read more? Either way, this book was a whirlwind, and I could not put it down.

The plot alone had me hooked. Four masked men, a deadly game, and a woman who stands to gain a fortune if she survives until morning—what could go wrong? (Spoiler: a lot.) These men aren’t just playing a game, they’re out to break the FMC in ways that are as twisted as they are hot. And, boy, did the story deliver on that front.

The pacing is insane. It’s a short novella, but the character development is impressive for such a fast read. It’s dark, gory, and absolutely addictive. These men are ruthless hunters who usually kill their victims—so, you can imagine there’s some blood and violence involved. Definitely a book to check trigger warnings for before diving in.

I honestly don’t know how to pick a favorite MMC because each of these insane, sexy men had me hooked from the start. They had everything I love in an MMC - possessive, morally gray (maybe black), but at the same time, it was like they worshipped Lux, their Little Light, as they called her. Good news - I don’t have to choose and neither does Lux - she can have them all! The steam starts early and doesn’t let up once it does. It’s intense, passionate, and incredibly well-written.
But it’s not all dark and gritty. There are moments that had me giggling (yes, seriously) and others that had my heart racing. The blend of intensity and dark humor is what really made Red Lace Manor stand out to me.

In short - if you’re a fan of an unapologetically dark romance that keeps you on the edge of your seat while making your heart race in all the right ways, this book is for you! Just read the dedication if you don’t believe me!

One line review - A dark, bloody, primal cat-and-mouse romance.

This was my first Erin Mersey read, and it absolutely won’t be my last. I was sold right from the dedication
To the girlies who want MULTIPLE masked men to hunt them for sport and fuck them like an animal—get help. But first! Read this book, because me too.

Honestly? Iconic. And maybe a tad too relatable.

Red Lace Manor is a quick, filthy, unhinged dark romance novella that drops you straight into a twisted survival game. Lux, our heroine, agrees to be hunted until dawn by four genetically enhanced, masked super humans in exchange for $10 million. But what happens if she survives… and wants to stay?

The pacing is quick, the tension beautifully exquisite, and each man brings a distinct energy to the story. The dynamic between Lux and the 'monsters' felt feral and chaotic in the best way.

Yes, it’s spicy (hello, MFMMM), but what surprised me was the emotional undercurrent beneath the gore and kink. There’s depth here, commentary on identity, trauma, and survival, woven into all the dark and delicious depravity. Some parts felt rushed (I would have loved more time, like 50-75 more pages, exploring their backstories and letting the mystery simmer), but for a novella, it delivers exactly what it promises.

Highly recommend if you are looking for a quick read and like your romance with blood, masks, obsession, and no morals in sight. Just make sure to check the content warnings, this one definitely leans DARK.

Would you survive a night running from 4 masked men whose ultimate goal is to devour you in any way they can?
Lux is the next participant in the game that is held at Red Lace Manor and she has to decide whether to play or walk away. She gets introduced to the 4 men living at red lace manor. Seth, Ronan, Cassian and Solomon are the men who invite participants to play their game, which is they hunt you and you have to make it to sunrise alive and if so you win $10 million dollars. Lux is already struggling and decides to play this game.
These men want her, her body, her soul and her life. They want her in any capacity they can have her and they are going to take every chance they have.
The connection these guys feel toward Lux from the beginning is instant and can definitely be felt by them all. Is this just another hunt or something more?
Will Lux survive a night of all four men on the prowl for her? Will this night at red lace manor be her last night ever?

I will say this book took me on a ride and I loved every minute of it! It was suspenseful and kept me on my toes! I didn’t know what to expect next and I loved being able to be surprised about what was to come. RH is a favorite trope of mine but throw in masked men with that too and 🫠🫠
Erin did an amazing job on building the characters along with the back story of the men that this short story felt like so much more! She has a great way of building this story and adding so much detail but in the best way. None of it felt cluttered or unnecessary and added so much depth to this short story. This was the first book I have read of Erin and I will definitely be reading more of her work!
I loved Red Lace Manor and hope to possibly see more of these characters in the future!

OMFG! I'M OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK.

I'm lucky to be an ARC reader.

The FMC? Lux is savage, smart, and absolutely unbreakable. Not your average victim. She’s a queen who bites back. 👑

The MMCs—Seth, Ronan, Solomon and Cassian. Four masked, terrifyingly HOT monsters who all scream “Mine.” Not "Ours" — which is even hotter. Territorial kings. 🔥

SETH & CASSIAN ARE MY FAVORITE. 🥵

The SMUT? OH. MY. GOD. It’s wild. Freaky. Possessive. And just the right amount of twisted. Choking, chasing, claiming — it’s all here.

The "survive until morning" game? Loved it. The hunter vs prey dynamic added so much delicious tension and primal heat. 🌕🩸

Bonus point: It’s a novella, but it delivers EVERYTHING. No slow burn, no emotional speeches. Just raw desire, danger, and dominance.

So, if you love fast-paced, filthy, and fierce reads with zero sugarcoating and all the heat, Red Lace Manor is your next obsession.

***

My Favorite Quotes:

"Dirty slüt." I scoffed. “Are you seriously getting off on being hunted for sport?"

“This is a confessional. Sinners come here to confess and be forgiven.” I planted a hand on her thigh. “And, my sweet Little Light, you are covered in sin.”

“It takes a special kind of whöre to be dripping wët with a knife in her a$s.” Maybe that was why no one else had made her cöme. She was a f*cking freak.

“Even with all of them, you still want me? Greedy Little Light.” I scoffed, looking down at her with mock disdain.

"Run, Little Light," I commanded. "The next time I catch you, I won't hesitate to kill you."

“I bet you think we’re monsters,” I rasped.
That was the only word for us.

But, Lux shook her head. “I know you’re human. All of you, even Solomon.”

Would you survive a night being hunted by four masked men who want to devour you—in every way imaginable?

Red Lace Manor is a thrilling, seductive ride from start to finish—and I loved every minute of it!

Lux is the newest participant in a deadly game held at the enigmatic Red Lace Manor. Her choice? Walk away or play the game: survive until sunrise while being hunted by four dangerously alluring men—Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon. The prize? Ten million dollars. But the cost could be everything.

These men don’t just want to catch Lux—they crave her body, her soul, her life. What begins as a high-stakes chase quickly shifts into something more complex and intense. The connection between Lux and the men is immediate, palpable, and impossible to ignore. Is this simply another hunt for them… or something much deeper?

This book took me on a wild ride—equal parts suspenseful, seductive, and surprising. I was hooked from the beginning and never quite sure what was coming next, which kept me fully invested. Reverse harem is one of my favorite tropes, but add masked men with dark desires into the mix? Absolute perfection. 🫠🫠

Erin did an incredible job building not just tension and chemistry, but also character depth and backstory. For a short story, Red Lace Manor felt rich and complete. Nothing felt rushed or unnecessary—every detail added something meaningful.

This was my first book by Erin, and it won’t be my last. I’m officially obsessed—and I’m hoping we’ll get more from the world of Red Lace Manor in the future. Fingers crossed we haven’t seen the last of these masked men.

red lace manor by erin mersey ★★★★½

this standalone novella is like the most dangerous game… if that game was set in a crumbling gothic estate, hosted by four mysterious masked men, and served with a side of twisted desire and obsession

it’s fast-paced, emotionally charged, and steamy in the kind of way that makes you simultaneously blush and say what is happening right now?

lux, our fierce fmc, is thrown into this death-defying challenge: survive until sunrise and walk away with ten million dollars—or don’t, and pay a much steeper price

the manor itself is practically a character—dripping with atmosphere, secrets in every velvet-draped hallway, and a claustrophobia that lingers long after the page turns

and oh, the romance. four MFMMM masked men who are equal parts sinister and obsessively devoted? yes please. they’re morally ambiguous, disturbingly enthralled with lux, and somehow, irresistibly magnetic

lux isn’t a passive damsel either—she’s wounded, curious, fierce, and surfaces stronger in the chaos

my only real gripe: i wanted more. this novella is intense, addictive, and beautifully unhinged—but it ends too fast. i needed just a little more time wandering those haunted halls.
if you love dark, gothic romance that pushes boundaries—and doesn’t skimp on the atmosphere or the heat—red lace manor will absolutely haunt you long after the final page.

Lux Seth Ronan Cassian Solomon
A game survive the night you win 10 million.
One rule they can’t kill her until everybody has a turn. Or I guess catches her.
The chase
Ronan the one who likes to hunt and chase catches her first.
The Hide
Solomon finds her second and actually takes care of her. But I’m curious on what makes him snap where he tries to drown her. It doesn’t go into specifics and he try’s to apologize but she runs obviously.
The catch
Cassian catches her. He stalls because he wants to see her and turns on a lamp which gives her time to stab him. They seem to bond the most as he lets her take care of the stab wound.
The Find
Seth catches her going through their paperwork as she gets information on why they are the way they are.
In the end she wins but since she knows their story she chooses to stay with them.
I know that her and Cassian are probably the closest so I can understand why he met her family in the epilogue but feel like it should have been Seth. Maybe Seth couldn’t handle it.
I would have loved to see another epilogue with her being pregnant just to see their reaction. And maybe another with children. I feel a totally different side of Ronan would come out and that would be fun to watch.

I was lucky to receive an ARC of this novella. This does not affect my review or sway me in any way.

I loved this novella! It was hot and dare I say, even cute at times. The plot was interesting and allowed for a structure that sometimes novellas can lack. I could read a whole series about the experiments and how the men deal with the fallout of healing from them.

We learn enough about each man to be interested and set the individuals apart from the others. Their moments of humanity contrasting with their evil ways was compelling and kept my attention. I was rooting for them.

Lux never lost her sassy attitude, which I loved. She was confident in herself, her goals, and her sexuality. I appreciated that she fought for her dignity in multiple situations where she could've given up. She found her strength in femininity, which is always something I look for in the romance genre.

The epilogue was genuinely adorable, although I may need to see a psychiatrist about thinking that. It was a great ending and really tied up the loose strings while providing the reader with a satisfying conclusion to the story.

This is my first Whörrör book ive read and it will not be my last now! I was a bit unsure at first just because this isnt my normal "go to" read/genre, with that being said I would definitely read more! This book was fast paced and kept me on the edge of my seat for what would happen next. The guys are completely unhinged and yet Lux is somehow able to handle their madness because shes just as unhinged as they are! The whole government experiment thing is cool and I would LOVE to hear more or even read a book of what they went through while they were being "treated". Cassian is my FAVORITE of the guys, I can totally fix him 🤤😆 This was a fun, hot, quick read; the only thing I wish is that I got more of their story. I want to know more about Lux, more about what happened while the guys were being experimented on, I want to know what happens after the game ended, where are they now, how did they get there?, I want to dig into who they are, I just want more. BUT being left begging for more isnt always a bad thing... see what she did there? 😉 Overall i reall enjoyed this and I will continue to recommend this to anyone who wants to listen, just read it!

"It's hard to stitch yourself up when you're drunk. It's even harder to stitch yourself up when you're sober."

Red Lace Manor by Erin Mersey is a fast-paced, dark reverse harem romance with a refreshingly original plotline. This is no grounded-in-reality story—it's dark fantasy through and through, where four genetically modified anti-heroes each believe they're beyond redemption.

Lux finds herself in a twisted game with one goal: survive until sunrise. Over the course of the story, it becomes clear that she truly sees these men. In all fairness, she's more than a little messed up herself—but honestly, who amongst us isn't?

I loved the dynamic between the characters, the morally gray edges of everyone involved, and the story’s sheer intensity. It’s a quick read with no cliffhanger. You probably have to be a little twisted to call it an HEA… but luckily, I am.

If you’re into dark fantasy, reverse harem romance, morally gray men, and strong female leads who don’t flinch, Red Lace Manor is absolutely worth the ride.

Little Light.

If you’re into dark, twisty stories with morally grey characters that mess with your head... this is it.

It’s a short but very dark and steamy RH, so definitely read the content warnings. But Erin? Me too!. And yes, I read the book first—LOL.

One of the things I love most about Erin’s writing is that no matter the book’s length, she always delivers a gripping story with characters that hook you from page one.
She continues to surprise us as the story unfolds. Just when you think you’ve got it all figured out, she throws in a twist that leaves you speechless.

We have a FMC that is a survivor.
Life hasn’t been easy for her, but what better way to face the darkness than with a sharp sense of humor—or by finding just the right broken boys to help her find the light?

The MMCs aren’t good guys, but somehow they still make the FMC feel seen, and cared for—in the worst ways that somehow become the best ones.

It ends with the perfect HEA... for them.

Survive until sunrise and walk away with enough money to change your life. Lux finds herself facing the challenge to last the night against four super-human men who are torn between their desires to hunt and hurt her. Making it until sunrise is harder than she imagined, but with each guy presenting a new challenge, Lux must embrace her own inner darkness and fight to survive against the odds.

Short, spicy, and dark, this one was a wild ride! Lux is facing four men who can't decide if they want her to submit or bl33d out. With the odds stacked against her four-to-one, she's determined to make it to sunrise. The guys are unique enough to separate them from the group but cohesive as a unit with one goal in mind. I love how Lux started off as another monthly contestant but ended up paving her own path with bl00d, sweat, and tears. The ending was enjoyable to see the story come full circle and give some closure to an otherwise twisted plot with jump scares behind every page.

Oweeeeee this adventure was amazing 🤩 It was so dark but a oh so light read if you know what I mean. Once I was in I was locked in to the hunt. Our FMC Lux is a Baddie 😍 her character and the fight she has is addictive. Even thought she shoulda been afraid of the hunt and the monsters she looked past that and said Forget about it I’m gonna win and had no fear. The MMC Seth, Ronan, Cassian, and Solomon were all so different and not your typical dark romance guys. They were legit Psychos but I couldn’t help feeling love for them because of the heart wrenching pain they all experienced. Why I do wish there was more on their stories and the horrors they faced what was explained was enough to understand and empathize with their plight. I loved this story and would definitely say Run Little Light and enjoy the monsters. 😘

I usually don't care for novellas, but this one caught my attention, and to my surprise, it kept my attention the entire time.

The FMC is relatable. "Either I walk away with $10 million or I don't have to pay rent anymore" mentality. Same, girl. Same. She progressively gains more of an understanding as she goes on, and despite the situation, she has compassion, and I love that about her.

This is definitely one of those books where the MMCs are different enough that you pick your favorites. Most of the sex scenes were from their POVs, and I LOVE that. To see their thought process for why they are doing what they do is so 🥵🌶🌶. The only con I have is I would have loved to see more of Solomon.

Overall, I give it a 4.5/5. It was paced well, and the writing keeps you captivated. I was not expecting an HEA at the start, but I'm delightfully happy it ends that way.

Ever wish you could be chased and ravaged by 4 masked men? This might be the one for you then! It is a hot and heavy quick read that was very fun. I did enjoy the fast nature and that the plot span was mostly just the night. Because of this though, I missed some character development and a deeper plot line. This story was really all about the relationship and finding their bride. The problem I had with that was that I didn't get invested in our characters and I didn't really understand her reasonings behind things. Why did they feel like she was special, how was she feeling during the sex scenes, what is her history that lends to her fitting into this relationship. I just still have a lot of questions, but otherwise, quick, dirty and fun read.
