Over Bite

Search and Rescue Cozy Mysteries #35

by Patti Benning

Sometimes it takes real teeth…
To take a bite out of crime.

Newly married dog-trainer and amateur sleuth, Eve, is thrilled when her best friend, Tiana, gives birth to a beautiful and healthy baby. Since Tiana is on maternity leave, a temp worker is covering for her at the dental clinic where she works. Things at the clinic take a dark turn when a part-time dentist is murdered.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed, Eve has to juggle solving the crime while trying to keep Tiana from getting too stressed, all while adjusting to married life and keeping up with her various responsibilities.

When a young dentist turns up and offers to take a full-time position, it seems too good to be true and makes Eve wonder if the new dentist killed the part-timer to take his job.

Can Eve drill down to the facts in the case and cap it off by catching a killer?

Entertaining mystery listening 🐕🎉

This kindle ebook novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 35 of 35 more to come?

Eve is not happy with the part time dentist but then he is murdered. Both the coffee shops in town are having trouble. Someone has been causing trouble at one. Then they find some evidence and the case is solved.

I would highly recommend this series to readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventures mystery novels 🎶🙄 2025 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨🌜

Patti is definitely taking things in a darker direction in these latest installments of the series, and I am absolutely here for it! Let's be honest, we never really liked Gary (although, to be fair, he certainly didn't deserve to die). This story is packed with twists and turns, and just when I thought I had everything figured out, Patti pulled the rug right out from under me. I was SO certain I knew where the story was headed and how everything would play out. I had my suspicions, connected my little dots, and felt pretty darn confident in my theories. And then...nope! I was wrong. And honestly, I love when an author can do that! Keep me guessing, challenge my assumptions, and surprise me in ways I never saw coming. Patti continues to keep this series fresh and engaging, proving that even after so many books, there are still plenty of surprises waiting for Eve and her friends (and for us readers!).

And, of course, Julie McKay continues to absolutely shine as the narrator. She deftly manages the entire cast of characters, giving each voice its own personality and making the dialogue feel natural and distinct. Her narration is effortless, engaging, and consistently wonderful. She brings these stories to life in a way that makes it so easy to get swept up in the mystery. Another fantastic installment in a series that continues to keep me coming back for more!

Overbite
Search and Rescue #35
By Patti Benning
Narrated by Julia McKay

Audio Production by Blue Nose Audio

Tiana is on maternity leave and the dental office is in need of some temporary help. To top it off, the part time dentist is found dead behind Chai Froth. Now they are really in need of help, so a dentist pops up and is requesting a full time position. Suspect? Just in time he shows up wanting to start a new life? He could be one, but not the only one. Eve is on the case, using her sleuthing skills, helping Tiana out with baby Evan and trying to find time to spend with her new husband, Aiden. Will she figure out the case? This one is so fun because it's totally unexpected. I love trying to figure out who is the culprit and this one is a total surprise. This series is always a pleasure to listen to.

Julie McKay is back to keep the story flowing! I love her! She is so good at keeping the characters consistent, and then adding in new people, building the suspense for the story and having my attention the entire time. She leaves me wanting to hang out with the group every time I listen!

A great read!

Newly married, Eve and Aidan have settled into a happy routine and created a loving home for themselves, Willow and Atlas.

Best friend Tiana is also settling in with her new family. Eve helps out occasionally and shares news from the dental clinic.

A mysterious event has disrupted a couple of businesses in Granite, also affecting Eve’s workplace at the dental clinic. She is keen to investigate what happened and to help solve the puzzle.

Another engaging storyline from Patti. I too, had my sleuthing hat on as I read. I liked how Patti intertwined the story in Over Bite. Don’t want to say too much, you will have to see for yourself.

Julie McKay does not disappoint. Her performance of these characters is executed flawlessly by Julie. I can visualise these characters’ throughout the entire book, and series!

"Over Bite" is Book 35 of Patti Benning's Search and Rescue Cozy Mystery series. This episode has newlywed Eve Foster Morgan having fun with Tiana and her new baby boy Evan, while keeping up with Willow's therapy dog visits, and taking care of Tiana's temporary replacement while she's maternity leave, and trying to find out who killed the part-time dentist at Tiana's and Eve's dental office. There is also sabotage at Chai Froth that Eve has to figure out who did it. Are the sabotage and the dentist's murderer the same person? Or are two different people responsible? I received an advanced reader's copy and this is my honest and voluntary review. I gave this book 5 stars.

Boy I sure never thought this murder would happen, you’ll know what I mean when you read it. I wouldn’t’ve pegged that person as the victim and probably not the person who was the killer either. Eve was juggling her job, her dogs, married life and helping her bestie adjust to being a new mom. Then a murder hit close to home which made Eve literally suspicious of everyone. But thanks to a quick, non-eventful showdown, life could get back to normal.

[Kate - BookyGal]

Eve and Aiden are finally married, but that doesn't put the mysteries to rest for Eve. Balancing married life, supporting her bestie, and just keeping up with her commitments has Eve at her wit's end. This made Eve feel extremely real to me. Also, another dentist dead in Granite? Patti, are you against dentists? Plus shenanigans at Chai Froth make this one of the more complicated stories of the series. Fabulous performance by Julie McKay!

[Jeannie]

Marriage, Maternity, and Murder!

Book 35 in this great series wad just as enjoyable and entertaining as the previous 34! I have read every one and loved them all. Fast paced, well written and will definitely hold your interest. If you like cozy mysteries with likable characters, sweet fur babies, all with a mystery to solve you won't be disappointed!

Another excellent book in the series

Eve is settling in training the temporary hygienist while Tiana is out on pregnancy leave. Then Gary the part time dentist is found murdered behind the tea house. The mystery deepens as Eve tries to help figure it out. A surprise ending and a fun read.

[Trudy Boyd]

you had me fooled

I didn’t think the killer was who was shown to be at all. I thought it might have truly been Henry or maybe the new hygienist. So I was surprised! Willow still has great skills! Eve is learning to be a great aunt! Like I said in an earlier review, anyone who knows Eve is a possibility for becoming a victim.

[Shannon Binegar-Foster]

Another murder hits very close to home when the part time dentist at Eve’s office is murdered. A few interesting suspects this time around. Totally was surprised by the killer as well as the motive. Enjoyed this quick read very much.

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the publisher.

[Marissa]

As Eve’s friend is on maternal leave, she is busy filling in for her. When one of the part time dentist is found murdered. Eve will have her hands busy as she juggles everything on her plate. Fun quick read.

[Sally Antoinette]

What happened to the nice safe place to live in?

What's going on in Granite? It seems to can't walk around at night without someone getting killed! And a favorite tea shop is getting damaged too! What else can mess up the town. How about needing a new dentist.

Books 35 in the Search & Rescue Cozy Mysteries series.

Performed in solo narration by Julie McKay

Eve has spare time to do a little investigating.

Eve arrives at work to see police tape and cones blocking the dental clinic. Finding out the other Dentist who works at the clinic is the body that was discovered in the nearby alley.

Having some spare time while the clinic is closed. Eve does some sleuthing to find out what happened to Gary.

Julie McKay does another great job with this solo narration.

Thanks BNA for this ALC

[Skadams9038 Adams]

Dr Young is no more

There are plenty of people who are not our favorites. This doesn’t mean we want bad things to happen to them. Eve learns a valuable lesson.

[Faiza]

This book is filled with twist and turns. When I thought I discovered everything bam something else get dropped.

[Courtney]

Can’t believe we are towards the end!!! Such a fun ride and can’t wait for the last book!

[Anne G. Kasaba]

And the saga continues. Eve has enough to do but when a coworker is killed she can’t not investigate on her own. This mystery was so well plotted that when the killer was revealed it came as a complete surprise. Entertaining story. The
