Book two of the Hart Brothers series brings us the conclusion of Kolson & Gabby’s story. As he has to face the deal he made with the devil, he also has to allow Gabby to see inside of his head and his past. But saving her means walking away, at least for now. But Gabby isn’t going to just sit on the sidelines and wait. Kolson freed her of her past, help make her stronger; she isn’t about to let him drown in the chains of his own nightmares.
I am a fan of this format. The way one story is all about the heroine, then all that anticipation of what the Heroes story will hold. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know all of Kolson’s secrets... what his childhood held.
I did enjoy the story and I found myself instantly wanting to know the rest of the brother’s stories. I knew that I’d have to binge read the series, unable to let it settle without knowing every detail.
I am a fan of this format. The way one story is all about the heroine, then all that anticipation of what the Heroes story will hold. I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know all of Kolson’s secrets... what his childhood held.
I did enjoy the story and I found myself instantly wanting to know the rest of the brother’s stories. I knew that I’d have to binge read the series, unable to let it settle without knowing every detail.

As book two begins in this thrilling series, Kolson is faced with the aftermath of a choice he made regarding Gabby’s safety. He made a deal with “the dragon” and now it’s time to pay up. What Kolson does has devastating effects on Gabby, and she’s struggling to keep it together. When she no longer can deal with the downhill spiral that her life is in, she takes matters into her own hands and tries to eliminate the problem by digging up incriminating evidence to finally put the permanent nail in “the dragon’s” coffin. Gabby is one smart and strong woman. She loves Kolson with everything she is and would do anything for him. So, this was a no-brainer decision as to what she must do to free Kolson from the monster that is now controlling his life.
This was one sad and unfortunate story, which is told in alternating POV’s from both Kolson and Gabby. Kolson’s life as a young boy was both heartbreaking and tragic. How can a young boy survive such trauma when he’s supposed to trust the one person in the world – his father? Langston Hart was one f**cked up dude! His brutal abuse of both his wife and three sons was mind-munipulating and cruel. The results of his years of torture were damaging for all. Will this monster get what he so deserves? Payback is a bitch!!!
Kolson and Gabby’s feelings for each other are still romantically touching – a little mushy at times – but still swoon-worthy. And, Ms. Hargrove definitely writes some panty-melting love scenes. Fiery and explosive with heat is my take on this couple’s ability to scorch the pages of this book!!
This book, as well as the first one in the series, couldn’t be more enticing! I tremendously loved how the author showed extensive growth in both main characters with their ability to love and trust in each other after having lived through some horrifying and painful times. As they are supported by trusting and honest friends and family members, their ability to move and live life is just that much more meaningful. This installment was my second favorite in this intriguing series!

HOLY SHITE!!
Freeing Him is a great follow up to Freeing Her. Gabriella is freed from her past, but moving forward with Kolson won’t happen until he is free from his.
Kolson has his reasons for not letting Gabby into his head too much. It’s not that he doesn’t trust her and love her. He just knows that what he hides could push her away – forever.
“And I’ll have to leave her in order to save her.”
Kolson definitely has his life together. But underneath all that, he still has his fears – especially his fear of the “dragon.” Gabby attends a get together with Kolson at his parent’s place and it’s there that she starts to understand what Kolson has had to endure while growing him. She also meets Storm – the one thing that allowed Kolson to persevere through it all.
Freeing Him is full of suspense and some really hot, steamy sex. I cried, laughed and held by breath through many scenes. Anne really knows how to put you right there in the action and make you feel like you are a part of the whole plot. You will feel the hatred that Kolson has for his father but you will also feel the absolute love, adoration and how complete Kolson feels when he is around Gabby.
“And ever has it been known that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.”
I guarantee once you start this book, you won’t be able to stop. If you haven’t yet, I suggest reading Freeing Her and then jumping right into Freeing Him!!

Kolson has finally found his happiness with Gabriella. He made sure she was safe from her cousin Danny. Unfortunately he had to turn to the one man he has been avoiding for years, not just a man, the monster, his father also known as The Dragon. Langston Hart is heartless, cruel and thrives on power. He will step on anyone and do everything he can to get what he wants, his cruelty and abuse know no bounds.
The dragon… the way he eyed her tonight. He knows she’s my weakness and he’s going to make my debt somehow involve her. I’m not sure how, but he will. And I’ll have to leave her in order to save her.
Gabriella knows that Kolson and his brothers grew up in an abusive environment. She just didn’t know the extent of abuse. She will do everything she can to FREE Kolson from his nightmares of his past but in order to help him, he needs to open up and let her in.
Her hands fists my shirt and she pleads, “Why can’t you tell me?”
“Because it could destroy you. I can’t take that risk. Ever. Can you please drop it? When the time is right, I will tell you. But not now. Not today.”
Things are going well until Langston calls Kolson to collect his debt. Kolson would rather die than see the man he loathes touch anything to do with his company. Kolson does what he thinks will save his company and keep Gabriella safe from his father, he disappears without a trace.

When I finished Freeing Her and there were some unresolved things, I was so ready for this book to come out...
Kolson did so much for Gabriella and during all that time, there were secrets of his past that I was just dying to know about...
So, as I began this book, it started with a bang and didn't hold back.
I was in shock at the darkness that Kolson had endured and my heart bled for him. All I could think about was how in the world could this amazing guy have survived his past??
But, as I kept reading, his past isn't really in the past and now Kolson is having to deal with things he has tried to bury...
Does the love of a good woman help Kolson?? Does the past destroy the relationship he so desperately wants to have with Gabriella??
All I am going to say is that nothing goes as I would have expected...I was so proud of Gabriella and the strength she showed. She has grown so much through her own struggles....
But, you need to experience Freeing Him for yourself....Discover Kolson's past and battle the demons that seem to haunt him everyday...

This was a good read, but didn't give me the same excitement as book 1. Kolson was kind of a hot mess in this book and Gabby was constantly in a state of some sort or other. I also had a hard time with the reactions of the characters, With so many unknown answers, can't bring myself to rate 4 stars, although plenty of steamy moments, angst, suspense, and character chemistry to make it worth my time to read.
This was a good read, but didn't give me the same excitement as book 1. Kolson was kind of a hot mess in this book and Gabby was constantly in a state of some sort or other. Freeing Him is the second book in the Hart Brothers Series and should be read in order to fully grasp the story. This book contains violent situations and should be read with caution for those that are sensitive to those topics.
Wow! I thought loved Freeing Her, but this book outdid the first book of the series!!! In the previous book (Freeing Her) we were left wondering what demons still laid within Kolston and we finally get to find out!!! Freeing Him will keep you in suspense from the first page until the last. Will Kolston defeat his abusive father and be free from his demons once and for all? Will Gabriella be able to continue loving Kolston once he finally reveals his abusive past?
Freeing Him is just as erotic & suspenseful as Freeing Her. If you were a fan of the first book of the series, this one will NOT disappoint you!!
My biggest complaint about the first books of this series was that it was written from the third person and could sometimes get confusing as they flip between characters. However, Freeing Him is written in the first person POV which corrected all of the transitioning issues that I had.

What a ride
First of all, can I just say that Sam is the secret hero in this book? I freaking adore him. He deserves his own freaking book. And a raise.
Turmoil, sorrow, anger, lust, love, strength, pride and elation. I felt every. single. one. and then some. I couldn’t be more in awe of the person that Gabby grew into. It’s like she took the absolute shit life she was handed and turned it into fertilizer to nourish and flourish instead of letting the stink take hold. The same can be said about Kolson, but even more so once Gabby opened his heart to love.
My heart healed with Gabby and Kolson, but continues to ache for his brothers and Sylvia. They have a long way to go, but now that they are free and have such an amazing support system, I know they can heal too.
The epilogue made my heart gallop! (Cheesy pun intended)

I loved the first book in this series, but wow, this book was even better. The story jogged along at a fast pace, it was exciting, emotional, passionate and romantic. Kolson's struggles and emotions were more fully explored this time, and this made him so much more than the domineering alpha male we saw in the last book. Kolson and Gabby have sizzling chemistry, the storyline had me hooked from page 1, it was a rollercoaster ride of emotions. Loved it. Can't wait to read Kestrel' s story. Five well deserved stars!!!

This part of their story is not only heartbreaking but heart-destroying. I was drenched in tears while reading about Gabby’s agony. And it is even worse to read about Kolson’s destiny and to learn about his past bit by tiny bit…
The slowly building-up tension nearly gave me a heart attack and kept me on the edge of my seat for the better part of this book!
Be sure to have a box of tissues nearby when you start reading this epic novel!

After realising the impact of the debt owed drastic decisions have to be made but how will Gaby cope with these changes.
Langston is a force to be reckoned with but will his ego be the downfall of him.

After the first book I didn't have high hopes with this one. I only read it because I wanted to know how everything would turn out. Everything that bothered me in book one was still around for this one.

Please read Freeing Her before you read Freeing Him…
I will be honest and say that I was really excited for this book to come out but also very nervous too. I wasn’t sure how A.M. Hargrove was going to start Freeing Him but in her true fashion she nailed it!
Kolson Hart is an amazing caring man, who holds so many secrets within that his past is about ready to take his soul. I know that sounds strange but you have no idea what this man has lived through. And you really don’t want to know the man who is responsible for tormenting his soul.
Gabriella Martinelli is this strong, loving, sexy, smart woman, who is crazy in love with Kolson. In Freeing Him, Gabriella is dead set on freeing his soul, like he freed hers. I will say this, I was super jealous of her in Freeing Her. But after reading Freeing Him I know that she is the better woman. J
Now Freeing Him is one of those books that will knock you on your booty. It is full of lies, betrayal, lust, sex, love, action, and romance and A.M. Hargrove did an amazing job mixing them within its pages. Before reading any of this book, I had no idea how bad and scary the Dragon man really was. But I found out real quick. This man is crazy with a capital C. I truly wanted to kill him myself while reading Freeing Him.
I am very pleased with the ending of this book but I will not lie to you… I am also upset that their story is over. Once you start reading Kolson & Gabriella’s story you will not want to stop. I love me some Kolson and I am a huge fan of A.M. Hargrove. I will be completely honest and tell you, I stalked her table at Penned Con is St. Louis just so I could tell her how much I love Kolson and Freeing Her.

Hargrove did an amazing job mixing them within its pages. Before reading any of this book, I had no idea how bad and scary the Dragon man really was. But I found out real quick. This man is crazy with a capital C. I truly wanted to kill him myself while reading Freeing Him.
I am very pleased with the ending of this book but I will not lie to you… I am also upset that their story is over. Once you start reading Kolson & Gabriella’s story you will not want to stop. I love me some Kolson and I am a huge fan of A.M. Hargrove. I will be completely honest and tell you, I stalked her table at Penned Con is St. Louis just so I could tell her how much I love Kolson and Freeing Her.

Although I had not read the first book, I was able to follow the story without feeling like I was at a loss. Kolson is one hot alpha man, which is completely understandable, given that he spent his childhood feeling like he had no control whatsoever. He has overcome much of what he suffered at the hands of his father, Langston, and is a force to be reckoned with in his own right. Part of being in control means taking care of Gabby, and everything that he does, he does with that purpose in mind. Gabby is one strong lady, too, having survived an abuse-filled past, and can definitely hold her own with the men in her life.
FREEING HIM is a fast-paced read, not only hot and sexy, but full of intrigue as well. The crossover of characters from A.M.'s TRAGIC series made for some interesting times, and the romance between Kolson and Gabby was off-the-charts smoldering. This is definitely one book couple that I wouldn't mind seeing more of, and would love to get a glimpse of them in future books in the series.

I cannot profess my love of A.M. Hargrove books strongly enough. They are deep, moving, smart, hot and a joy to read as the tales unfold. Freeing Him sequel to Freeing Her is her best work yet. The author describe this book this way: After avoiding his father for years, Kolson knew asking his father, Langston Hart, for a favor would be like selling his soul to the devil. Only the devil wants more ... more than Kolson is willing to pay. But some promises can’t be broken, not without losing what’s most important. For Kolson, that’s Gabriella Martinelli.

Freeing Him is super steamy, heartbreaking, suspenseful & you will get the answers you have been waiting for!!! A.M. Hargrove does an amazing job with this complex couple, their chemistry is smoking hot!
Kolton has made some sacrifices to protect Gabriella. Gabby doesn't know what they are, and Kolton wants to keep it that way. Kolton is now in debt to his father, which he never wanted to be. Kolton's father was abusive to him and his brothers but as to the extent of the abuse he has never told anyone. Gabby knows something is going on with him and is worried.
Kolton disappears to avoid further abuse from his father. He doesn't want Gabby to suffer at the hand of his father either.
How will Kolton and Gabriella be able to ever live normal lives again or be able to be together with this debt over their heads? Will Kolton ever tell Gabby about his past and be free?
A.M. Hargrove wrapped up this book in an amazing way! I am giving this 5 out of 5 stars, I was very satisfied!!! I wouldn't mind a spin-off at some point on either of Kolton's brothers though!!!

Kolson's father has called in his debt after doing something for him. He knew it was coming the whole time he and Gabriella were in the dragon's lair. His father wants him back in the business, but Kolson has a plan to disappear which means he will be leaving Gabriella behind to keep her safe. He is still haunted by his past, but doesn't share it with Gabriella. Instead he makes a plan to get back at the dragon. Can his relationship with Gabriella withstand his plan? What will happen to them when all is said and done?
I absolutely LOVE Kolson and Gabriella. They are off the charts hot and I definitely needed a cool down after reading their scorching moments together. My heart broke at all that Kolson went through as a child, but I was mad at him for leaving Gabriella behind. I fist pumped for Gabriella when she confronted her parents. Freeing Him is a roller coaster ride that will have you on the edge of your seat until the very last page. You don't want to miss it.

I had some issues with the second book in the "hart series".
First of all the cover: probably one of the worst covers EVER.
Secondly this book was at times just crazy and sooo far of from reality that it wasn't even funny. The plot twists and the characters were just weird. The characters were just black and white. They were just too simple.
Last but not least the author didn't do her research for example you cannot ride on an two year old frisian horse EVER. It is animal abuse. So when a grown-up man just "jumps on the two-year-old horse" it is just bad research and I really hope that NO ONE does something like this in real life! Some may call me small minded because I point things which others may call unimportant but I just expect books to be free of mistakes like this.

Can she help him like he helped her? The tables are slightly turned in this book. Kolson struggles with his past and tries to do what he thinks is best. He loses his way a little. Gabby meanwhile has strong moments and toughens up but still has her issues. It was dark read in places but that draws you in. Will the dragon get his just deserts?

After the first book, you have to get the 2nd one. I loved this book - just like I loved the first one! It keeps you on the edge of your seat! It may be a little dark at times but so what. I read them both in three days. I just had to find out what happened! Best books I have read in a while. I have read six books to date by AM Hargrove and love them all!
