4.5 stars.

I really enjoyed this series (written in 2014) but whilst the next book, Dead Sunny is mentioned as coming soon, it doesn’t seem to have materialised. Shame.

I want to start off that i've read and reviewed Dead Sexy Book 1 and Book two Dead Set was equally as fun and interesting of a read as the first novel that I rated at five stars. First i'll throw in a several words is edgy, sexy, fun, witty and a pleasure to read. Im known for not giving out spoilers and focusing on the basics such as compelling storyline , a uninterrupted flowing of each beginning and ending of the breaks or chapters in the story that come together to make a well written fast read. Character depth and the human element( zombies of varying types) was achieved for me , also the same two leads that were centered on in Dead Sexy were also human and believable. Yes this is a post apocalypse zombie setting, yes there are zombies that are written and well described to differing degrees. There was a love story portrayed and in full description, plenty of well written wittiness, sexual and emotional attraction that was told through the main character and her man Thomas. The main character is a strong ,independent and resourceful woman who was also vulnerable at some points and Thomas (love interest) had to fight for every second of attention he received from her. A well written and supported plot was also evident within seconds of reading the first paragraph. Editing and grammar was represented and displayed well. I would gladly read the third book that is currently being written.

I adore this great new series. You can't help but love Gemma, a girl whose motto is 'Kick ass and kill zombies'. She is fun, feisty, and fast on her feet. Gemma is use to tracking down feral biters but this time she is hired to find a rogue killer raising havoc in her beloved town. Can she find him before he kills again and starts a riot between humans and the undead? Will she ever find love happily ever after with someone from the hereafter?
I never thought I would be head over heels for a dead man but DS Thomas Conroy in Dead Set is my new book boyfriend. The DS stands for dead sexy, dead smart, and definitely stud-worthy. The little bits of his background that are slowly given away, just add to his intriguing story. He is a mystery that Gemma can't quite figure out.
Aleah has created a believable cast of characters in an unbelievable situation. I enjoyed all the quirky characters in this story, everyone from Uncle Donny to Gemma's mom, Martina, add to its appeal. Detroit is the perfect background for this series that would make a great TV show. I am eagerly waiting for the next edition of Dead Sexy.
I received an ARC of this story in exchange for a review.

Although I really enjoyed this I didn't seem to like it as much as Dead Sexy.
Gemma's been hired to find a serial killer when D.S. comes back into town. He won't tell her why he's there but he does help her with her investigation.
She's hasn't seen him since their night together when she found out about his secret.
This has a great plot to it but doesn't have the sexual build up I enjoyed so much the first time. Gemma knows a relationship with D.S. won't work but there's no reason not to enjoy him while he's there. Her mom finds out which is a little awkward.
Gemma realises she's been over looking a vital clue to her investigation which makes it take a complete 180. D.S. although a government agent decides to take some laws into his own hands to help Gemma out.
It has quite a surprising ending.

I was given an eArc by the author in exchange for a honest review. Thank you.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I loved this book! This is the second book in the Dead Sexy series and it is awesome! The relationship between D.S. and Gemma once again heats up in this second installment.

The book begins 2 months after the conclusion of the first book and it continues to have the same humour as the first book and some mighty good sexual tension between the characters.

Aleah writes so well and one line that stuck throughout the book was: "That.Makes.You.One.Of.Us.And.We.Take.Care.Of.Our.Own." I really thought that line would lead us on a completely different path than the book ended up taking us.

One of my favorite quotes in the book was: "D.S. wasn't my boyfriend. He wasn't even my friend. We were just two ships passing in the night, but - whatever he'd done - he hadn't deserved to be hated by the people who should have loved him most."

The ending surprised me with who was involved but not the why part. I can not wait for the third installment and I highly recommend you to give the series a read!!

**I received an ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review!**

I have to say that I absolutely love this series. The first book in this series Dead Sexy was such a fun and fast paced read I couldn't wait for the next book to come out. I had extremely high hopes for book two and Aleah Barley definitely delivered. Dead Set was a wonderful read. It's funny, fast paced, sexy and all in all a great addition to a truly promising series. The characters and story line are all wonderfully written and thought out. I was hooked from page one and refused to put it down until the end. If you've already read Dead Sexy then you will love this book...if you haven't then I strongly suggest you do!!

All I know is that I can't wait for book three...and much much more of the sexy D.S. and feisty Gemma!!

I thought about this long after I finished reading it. This story is different, well written and has interesting characters. The main problem I have with it is that I just can't get around the fact the love interest is a zombie. Witches, werewolves, vampires - I can get what the attraction might be. Zombies - yuck! Also, Gemma is supposed to be a kick butt kinda girl, but in this story she is too kick butt to be believable. I was going to give this 3 stars, but since I have been thinking about it so much, I gave it 4. I will read the next book when it is out. Maybe she will find a nice vampire instead of the zombie hottie. :)

I thought the first book in this set was awesome. But she has out done herself as I could not put the ARC of dead set down till the end. This is a must read and follows dead sexy so well and leaves you again like the last book waiting on the next to find out what happens next.

I received this ARC from the publisher In exchange for and honest review. In all honesty the only way it could get better is if the next book was to follow tomorrow :)
