Freeing Denver: A Mafia Romance

Rate this book
Why walk away when you can dive in?

Everything changed in seconds. An act of revenge resulted in death and devastation, and now, a war is brewing on the East Coast. Leaderless and adrift, I have no choice but to become the woman I feared I’d have to be.

Deluxe.

Enemies become allies. Allies become enemies. But while wading among the blood and bodies, I wait—because now I only need three things to survive.

Revenge.

Freedom.

… And him.

Finding Denver is a mafia romance with a strong female lead, and two morally gray gangsters. Readers are strongly advised to read the trigger warnings listed at the beginning of the book.

Spice - 4/5
Characters - amazingly written and unforgettable 5/5

In this book you get:
🖤fast pace
🖤Tension

🖤Baddass FMC
🖤Morally grey and black MMCs
🖤 Action and surprise
🖤Major and Minor characters stand out.

We join Denver again in another amazing book. Enemies become allies and vice versa. She is intent on revenge for secrets that she finds out and a bombshell that rocks her very foundation. These secrets she thought were true and a very painful one she punished herself for turns out to be untrue. She has to temporarily run not 1 but 2 of the biggest Mafia Families in New York. Colt and Roman are injured so she has to rely on Alistair who hates her guts but her reputation is bigger and is part of the family via her marriage to Ranger. She has to prevent any of the other families from seeing any cracks or weakness’s so the other mafia families dont try to make a challenge against their empire.

Denver has grown so much and coming into her own as a professional woman and under her own name. She has business’s and a reputation to rival even Rangers. She is realising that success, happiness and love is not what she had with Ranger. No matter how many times she gets knocked down she rises even when there is an attack on her life. If anyone would have the right to sit in a corner and give up it would be Denver. The bombshells that Ranger drops around her would have anyone sitting in a corner and giving up. Colt shows her what love, happiness, support should actually be like and treats her like a queen.

Ranger continues to frustrate the hell out of me. He never seems to learn. I have lost count how many times i say, “Ranger what the hell are you doing?” He has to always win even if it means hurting Denver and he sees this as love. He never ever sees that what he is doing is not how treat someone especially if you love them.

Colt has been the biggest surprise for Denver. Showing Denver what a relationship even in the mafia world should be like. Even when Denver runs his business’s perfectly he doesn’t see this as a shot to his manhood he is proud of her. He is putty in her hands and even after being injured will burn the world to ground to get to her or protect her. He shows us how and why he got the nickname Ghost, how he got the respect off everyone and there isn’t anything he wouldn’t do for Denver or to get her back.

This book is spectacular and way better than the last. Kayla writes beautifully and makes it so emotionally fulfilling for the characters and readers. This book stayed in my head and i had to read it all in one go it was that addictive. The ending to each chapter had you begging for more and you just had to know. The ending was pure perfection with a stunning cliff hanger. I am so glad that the 4th came out just as i finished this book cause I just had to see what happens next. Kayla Kyng has done an amazing job spinning these words into such an addictive and wonderful book.

This was such a wild, emotional ride and the perfect way to end the series. Denver’s growth was amazing to watch, and Colt really showed up for her in every way. There were so many twists I didn’t see coming, and the drama kept me hooked the whole time. Kayla Kyng did her thing with this one, definitely a must-read if you’ve been following the Luxe series.

💫 MMC: Colt – This man had me. The way he unravels when Denver is taken… the desperation, the grief, the rage—it was all so raw and consuming. He’s still that protective, loyal, emotionally grounded MMC, but in this book you see just how much she is his world. The way he fights for her, never gives up on her, feels everything so deeply… I was hurting right alongside him. And then in the end?? Him choosing her, saving her, ending it for good… yeah, he owned this book.

💫 MMC: Ranger – I don’t even know how to feel about him by the end. Still manipulative, still obsessive, still completely unhinged—but there’s something tragic about him here too. You see the depth of his obsession, how far he’s fallen, and how everything he built starts collapsing. He’s the villain, no question… but his ending? I wasn’t prepared for that. It felt like the final, inevitable crash of something that was always going to burn.

✨ FMC: Denver – She was EVERYTHING in this book. Strong, emotional, resilient—but also pushed to her absolute breaking point. The things she goes through??? I was genuinely heartbroken for her. And yet she keeps going. She fights, she survives, she endures. This felt like her story more than anything—her pain, her strength, her choices. Watching her come out the other side and finally get peace?? That hit so hard.

🔥 Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 – Not the focus, but when it hits (hello hotel scene 🥵), it HITS. It feels more emotional here, more about connection and grounding in the middle of all the chaos.

💘 Tropes:
• Emotional devastation / trauma
• Obsessive MMC
• Protective MMC
• Kidnapping / captivity
• Found family / alliances
• Revenge & power plays
• “Touch her and die”
• HEA (hard-earned)

🎭 Vibe / Overall Feel:
This book was an emotional onslaught. The plot was top tier—every twist, every connection, every reveal just kept layering on more intensity. I felt everything—rage, fear, heartbreak, hopelessness. It didn’t hold back for a second.
The pacing was relentless, especially once Denver is taken. It becomes this desperate, painful race against time, and you can feel Colt unraveling while Denver is enduring the unthinkable. It’s heavy, it’s dark, and it genuinely hurts to read at times.
But that ending??? After everything, it gives you relief. It gives you closure. It gives you peace. And honestly… after what this book puts you through, that HEA felt so deserved.

⭐ Standout Moments and reactions:
• Vince’s manipulation finally unraveling — his role in everything becoming clear added an early layer of tension that carried throughout
• Why is Alistair so against Denver?! — the tension there felt so loaded
• WTF are you doing Denver?! DO NOT kiss Vince!!! — I was STRESSED
• Denver killing Vince — a defining moment for her character, choosing action over hesitation and fully stepping into her strength
• The confrontation with Ranger — Denver taking control and refusing to be intimidated showed just how much she’s grown
• Finn’s funeral — heavy emotional weight, especially with Spider’s presence and Axel defending Denver
• Colt IS AWAKE — a moment of relief amidst constant tension
• Denver asking for a divorce in front of both families and Ranger — powerful, symbolic, and a clear shift in her autonomy
• Colt and Alistair’s tension — underlying conflict that hinted at deeper fractures within the alliances
• Denver confessing to Colt about Vince — honesty finally grounding their relationship
• Colt discovering the truth about Sebastian — a breaking point that added emotional depth to his character
• Colt revealing the full plan to his allies — the shift from chaos to strategy
• ALLISON 😨
• AXEL!!! 😭😭😭 NOOO — this one HURT — one of the most devastating moments, shifting the emotional tone of the story entirely
• Axel’s mother at his funeral - the reveal she is still alive
• Denver’s arrest — everything spiralling and control being lost again
• Wait… Alistair leaking footage?!? — I was questioning EVERYTHING
• The quiet reveal of Colt and Denver’s marriage — subtle but meaningful amidst the chaos
• Ronan waking up — a long-awaited moment of hope
• The hotel scene 🥵
• The hotel ambush — escalating danger and reinforcing that no one is safe
• Denver’s kidnapping and pregnancy reveal — raising the stakes to their highest point
• ONE MONTH LATER!!! — intensifying the desperation and emotional toll
• Denver’s captivity under Eli — some of the darkest, confronting parts of the book
• Colt and Ranger working together — a tense and unexpected alliance driven purely by desperation
• Denver was in the limo Colt saw??? 😩 — that hurt
• YES KITRICK!!! Protecting her when he can
• Kitrick’s reveal as a cop — a pivotal twist that shifted the balance slightly back toward hope
• Colt unraveling — his emotional decline felt raw and consuming
• YES SANDY!!! A small moment of hope
• Colt sending Denver his msg — a symbolic moment of connection despite the distance
• Spider has Marnie too?!?!w
• WTF… Sebastian?!?!? — I was spiraling
• YES Sebastian!!! — okay maybe we’re okay??
• Going for Marnie… SHE’S NOT MARNIE?! — WHAT IS HAPPENING
• The rescue mission — layered with tension, uncertainty, and constant twists
• Denver and Colt’s reunion — emotional release after prolonged tension
• Kitrick is Detective Marshall’s brother — everything connecting
• Denver’s goodbye to Ranger — emotional closure
• WHO IS THE RAT?!?! — paranoia; it better not be who I think it is!!
• The merging of the families — a major power shift within the story
• Lewis being revealed as the rat — tying past events together and delivering final betrayal
• Colt killing Lewis — decisive and final, closing that thread
• The wedding and Denver’s father’s final letter — emotional closure and a moment of peace
• Ranger shooting Denver — NO!! — a shocking final act that pushed everything to breaking point. I was NOT OKAY
• Colt killing Ranger — the ultimate end to his control and obsession
• NO DENVER CAN’T BE DEAD 😭😭 — SEBASTIAN!!!
• ETHAN!!! I was SOBBING
• We have a heartbeat — I can breathe again
• The HEA — a hard-earned ending that felt fully deserved

💬 Final Thoughts:
This book felt like the culmination of everything—every storyline, every relationship, every piece of manipulation finally colliding in a way that was intense, emotional, and completely consuming. It absolutely wrecked me. It took everything this series built and pushed it to the extreme—emotionally, physically, and psychologically. I was on edge, heartbroken, stressed, and completely consumed the entire time. The plot was layered and relentless, with twists and connections constantly unfolding, making it impossible to fully relax or predict what was coming next.
Colt and Denver went THROUGH it. The pain, the separation, the desperation… it felt real, and it hurt. I felt the fear, the hopelessness, and especially Colt’s unraveling as everything slipped out of his control. What made this stand out was how balanced it felt despite the chaos. The pain, the tension, and the heartbreak were intense, but they were matched with moments of connection, loyalty, and resilience that kept it from feeling overwhelming in a negative way. Every loss hit, every reveal mattered, and nothing felt wasted. Ranger’s storyline came to its inevitable, devastating end, and even that carried emotional weight.
I was literally sobbing at 1am… and then smiling through tears by the end. That ending—after all the chaos, the loss, the suffering—gave me exactly what I needed: relief, closure, and happiness. This was everything I want in a dark romance—pain, tension, obsession, and a hard-earned HEA.

... WOW!!!! ...... just W O W !
I'm in love. I actually can't get over how amazing this series is!! full of twists and turns, just how I love my books. I love how it kept me guessing and engaged the WHOLE time. THIS book did this by the lory load. The way the opening of this book had me shooketh and shocked was actually unfair. Kyng had me questioning E V E R Y T H I N G !!
It is good to bear in mind that this book is dark. But if you've gotten this far in the series, then you know what you are in for.
I'm sorry, I know I should talk about something else, but those twists !! I don't know what the definition of a romantic thriller is, but I'm almost tempted to classify this as one. Honestly amazing!!
I'm in love with forever and always. and that ending 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Okay I'm going to have to leave this review here, or I'm going to spoil everything for everyone!!
safe to say I . C A N N O T overstate how amazing this book/ series is!!

Thank you to Kayla Kyng for the opportunity to read the conclusion to Denver's incredible journey!

In short, gripping, thrilling, captivating, it's everything! This is probably my #1 series of 2025! I will never not recommend Denver's trilogy.

Y'all she was not joking when she said to have those tissues ready while reading. The laughs, the twists, the tears, and the shock of this story have completely altered my brain chemistry.

Book 3 picks up shortly after the heart-stopping ending of Book 2. Denver finds herself battling not only her enemies, but her supposed allies to save the family. After Colt has healed and back as the head of the family, the couple have a war on their hands. While  dealing with the other families, people from the past come back to settle scores and new enemies are not on their heels. Will their love for each other survive the onslaught? Can they break free and get their quiet life they dreamed of?

Kyng absolutely ripped out my heart with Denver and Colt. Through out this series Denver has been through so much. She's molded into whatever role she needed to in order to survive. Just when she thinks she can finally be her true self, her world is blown apart. First, she had Ethan, and he was gruesomely ripped from her. She thought she had Ranger, but her only manipulated her.  Colt is the only one who had encouraged her and is her safe space. The way this man is utter putty in her hands while being the strong force she needs is everything. The devotion Denver and Colt have is unmatched. The emotions are high in the last quarter of the book. Kyng ties every loose end together even those from all the way back in Book 1. There was no other way to end this series than how Kyng did.

"Happiness is not fragments. Happiness is whole. And my happiness is sitting right beside me."

“I’ll only ever know how to love you for the rest of my life.”

“I’m not happiness that you think you don’t deserve. You are allowed to love me. You are allowed to be happy with me. I am giving you permission to love me. To love me, and stay, and fight.”

"She will always be a constant presence, a beacon of strength and hope, a woman I will love as long as my heart beats. No matter what happens, our love is steadfast, and I lean into that."

I received an advanced copy of this book and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The above opinions are my own.

I read the three books back to back. This one set up the universe of this world pretty well. I kept worrying towards the end that Ranger was going to a redemption book later on but so glad that is not happening. It’s so fucked up I felt bad for him over all. I keep wondering if Theo/Daniel will get a book at the end that would cool.

My one small gripe was Wyatt. He suspected Denver was in love with Ranger and Ranger just put easy temptation there but I wonder how much he manipulated Wyatt more than we know. I do think Wyatt represented that first love and heartbreak even if orchestrated in part by Ranger. I wished that fleshed out a bit more.

Ranger definitely represents all things that can look and feel like love but just are not. Possession and obsession.

Ethan was the a testament to how deep love and connection can happen in a short time but in a similar vein still represents idealistic love unless nurtured which Denver could not do.

Colt and Denver had so much in common but even from the first meeting it was special. I like how the author also compartmentalized his first love without taking away from his current love of Denver. I think a lot authors don’t find the correct balance in dealing with that trope. I also love that we got actual dialogue of them getting to know each other as friends which sadly we don’t get enough of these days. I am overall happy with the turn out but I will say too many events back to back for these characters in this third book I’m surprised everyone didn’t just have a heart attack but maybe that is a me problem why I rarely do trilogies anymore.

I really love Denver as an fmc but man she went through so much! I felt that slap from Daniel’s adoptive mom on my face it was that visceral whoa I get chills.

Will definitely read more from this author.

I received this as an arc read. My review is my own honest opinion.

Freeing Denver is the third book in the Luxe. If you want a better understanding of this book you need to read the first two which are Taking Denver and Finding Denver both incredible books. This book picks up right where Finding Denver leaves off throwing you back into Denver’s world where there is almost always some kind of chaos. Throughout the books you’ve seen all different sides of Denver. In Freeing Denver you see Denver learn to love herself and finally starting making choices for her happiness instead of thinking she isn’t worthy. She’s reminded that she is loved and not alone in the world even though sometimes she feels the opposite. Denver finds love real earth shattering love. She finds the kind of love we all hope for. Someone who loves her unconditionally someone who supports her and defends her and reminds her and shows her she is worth it, that she is enough and no matter what they are in this chaos together.

I loved that this book brought my emotions all over the place. There were moments where I was like “are you kidding me right now” literally leaving my mouth hanging open, moments where I was almost in tears, others where my heart was so full. The book had outcomes that I couldn’t have predicted if my life depended on it. The suspense, loss, strength, love all shined throughout Kayla’s writing. Kayla truly made it feel like you were right there with Denver & Colt throughout the whole story.

Colt… Colt.. Colt.. my guy. The love he has for Denver is unmatched. He is willing to burn the world down for her. He’s always been a family loving man putting his family first when it comes to his mother, niece, brother, close friends.. but when it comes to Denver its that times ten. Colt helps her feel, shows her that she’s worth it and continues to show up and fight for her without pause. Colt goes so far as reaching out and working with Ranger when Denver is in danger. He puts aside everything for her because she is his world, his future, his endgame. I loved Colt in Finding Denver but I fell in love with him all over again in this book and you will see why.

Denver and Colt together go through so much in this book and I mean so much. Twists and turns, things you would never expect and it just keeps you hooked. You will get a crumb of information and have to keep reading to find out what happens because you get to a point where you can’t stop or don’t want to wait to find out what happens. I loved this book with my whole entire heart. It truly exceeded my expectations but it’s not that surprising because Kayla is so incredibly talented. I will be rereading this again because it was just that good. Do yourself a favor and read this series, you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you Kayla for the opportunity to read this early, it was truly an honor. I can’t wait to see what comes next!

"No matter what happens, our love is steadfast, and I lean into that."

I had no idea when I started this trilogy how it was going to end. I could have guessed. And I'd have been wrong.

I received an early copy via Ever After PR. All opinions are my own and given freely. Quote used in this review subject to change upon publication.

Freeing Denver is book three in a continuing trilogy that must be read in order. And all I can say it buckle up. Because you're in for a wild sizzling ride of drama, action, twists and turns... and this third book is no exception. While it felt a little long to me this time around, I thoroughly enjoyed it!

I could have used some family charts to refresh who was who since it's been a bit since I read the last (which won't be a problem, since the whole trilogy will be out to binge soon!)... But I was entertained, turning the pages in anticipation of how it would all turn out. And I did not see any of that coming. How the author could make me feel so conflicted at times too, about certain characters. The whiplash was real. I both look forward, and fear more books from her. If you read it, you'll understand this.

And then she went and made me cry with one little line ('enough love' iykyk). Like way to play with my emotions!!!! It was perfect!! Truly hard to believe this is a debut trilogy. It had everything I look for in a favorite read. I'll just be over here wishing to see some of these side characters in the future- Dante or Alastair. But CAIN especially!! If you're a fan of drama and wild rides in mafia romances- check this trilogy out!

Freeing Denver is the intense and emotional finale to Kayla Kyng’s dark mafia trilogy. The trilogy follows Denver Luxe, a woman born into organised crime and we meet her as she is fighting to reclaim control of her life after the death of her husband, Wyatt. Across all three books, she’s been caught in a storm of violence, betrayal, blackmail, and heartbreak, and this final book brings everything crashing to a sudden conclusion.

I really appreciated how Freeing Denver ties up every lingering storyline without making it feel too neat or easy, which would have thrown me out the story entirely.
The central dynamic remains tangled and intense. Ranger, who’s been a dark constant in Denver’s life since her father’s death, still casts a long shadow here. His feelings for her haven’t changed, but his motives and actions are far from pure.
Then there’s Colt, who is dangerous in his own right, but his love for Denver is definitely closer to the kind of real love she has always dreamed of. He thinks of her before himself, something Ranger has never been able to do.

The whole trilogy doesn’t shy away from the dark elements of organised crime and the people who are wrapped up in it. This includes human trafficking, torture, murder, betrayal and gang wars, yet somehow Kayla Kyng still manages to weave in some moments of tenderness and vulnerability that I really liked, especially as they have a greater effect next to the dark setting. It’s definitely not a cosy romantic read, but it is thrilling and full of passion. Watching her finally face her past and fight for her future was so satisfying.

Freeing Denver is a gripping conclusion that stays true to the tone of the first two books, but still neatly polishes up the complex world around Denver in a way that felt appropriate and satisfying. I really enjoyed this finale - it was everything I hoped it would be!

Freeing Denver by Kayla Kyng: 5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️

Complete series ♾️⭐️

ARC review:
What can I say other than I loved every second of this book. No need to say anything else.

No, but seriously, absolute perfection. After the way Finding Denver left off, I was not sure how this was gonna go but I was not disappointed. It was a roller coaster of emotions the entire time. Who am I kidding, the entire series was! It had all the highs and lows, and just when you think these characters are going to ride off into the sunset, betrayal from who you least expect it. I don’t even know how many times my heart was broken and put back together again. But it just made this book that much better.

I loved the FMC Denver. She is sassy, charismatic, and a fighter. The strength she finds after everything she been through is inspiring. It also helps that she has Colt by her side.

Ohhh Colt 🥰. Let me introduce you all to my new book boyfriend. He is tall, dark and handsome with tattoos. He is the kind of guy who would go to the ends of the world for the woman he loves. And is def a touch her and die kind of man. Literally. Need I say more.

What an epic conclusion. Although there were times I felt emotionally damaged during this series, it has become one of my favorite series I have read this year. Thank you @authorkaylakyng and @everafter.pr. I can’t wait to purchase the paperback when it comes out. Also can’t wait to see what Kayla Kyng comes out with next. Amazing writer. 👏👏👏

After the explosion that changed everything, Denver finds herself needing to form an alliance with the man who almost took everything from her. As she steps into the role of head of the McEwan family, she must determine who is friend and who is foe, while trying to find the person responsible. But although she may be controlling things in New York, it doesn’t mean that her enemies from California won’t come to collect.

Just when he thought he had everything figured out, Colt wakes up to a new reality. As he tries to make the future he dreamt of a reality for the woman he loves, he also needs to work with an unlikely ally to keep her safe. But things aren’t always as they seem, and the enemies are closer than they look.

If I thought the first two books of the series were good, this one blew me out of the water! It was an emotional rollercoaster I did not see coming. From elation to emotional devastation in a matter of pages, this has quickly become my favourite mafia series to date! The author has a way of lulling you into a sense of false security, and right when you think you know what’s coming next, she throws a curveball that will leave you reeling. Unlikely alliances form in the most unexpected ways, and those you think are friends turn out to be anything but. Happily ever afters are not guaranteed.

I read this series because I saw book 3 being advertised and it sounded interesting so I signed up to ARC it. I am so unbelievably glad I did because this whole series is incredible.

This series is a beautifully written, multiple POV Mafia romance with so many twists and turns I’m surprised I don’t have whiplash.

Our FMC: Denver is a powerhouse, smart, funny and just wants to be happy.

Our MMC1: Ranger. The author wrote him so brilliantly that I genuinely loved him from the beginning. He’s a master manipulator and I was a victim!

Our MMC2: Colt is a ghost, a myth. A golden retriever with the darkest of sides and a heart made of gold.

I read this series in a weekend, I am exhausted but I couldn’t put it down. This is intense, anxiety inducing, Laugh Out Loud funny and absolutely devastating. I sobbed my heart out at 2am reading this and I loved every single second. I will recommend this series to every person I come across, even if they don’t ask because everyone needs to read this. I am so grateful I was able to read and ARC this series.

4.5 ⭐️s

- Strong FMC
- Protective MMC
- Mafia focused
- Mafia romance
- Crime families
- Betrayal
- Action packed
- Secrets

This book is the definition of a page turner. Kept me hooked throughout. Once I’d got through the first 50 pages, I found it hard to put the book down.

Freeing Denver follows a mafia heiress, Denver, who has taken over as head of a crime family after a series of attacks. While she navigates power, she also deals with betrayals, secrets and relationships.

Denver and Colt are great together and I really liked their dynamic as well as their family and friends. The only issue I had with the book was due to the high number of characters I sometimes got confused with the side characters who didn’t have a lot of plot time. But mostly, I got used to this as I read on.

If you love mafia romances, betrayals, secrets, plot twists and action then this is for you. Read the trigger warnings before reading and enjoy.

(Also a massive thank you to Kayla Kyng and Ever After PR for the ARC copy 🫶🏻)

WHAT AN ENDING 😮 🤍

Note, I’m leaving the same review for all three books of the trilogy because they’re all 5 freaking stars.
Admittingly, it took me longer than I’d like to admit to get to reading this, I was worried about the love triangle trope but damn Kayla’s writing is 10/10, the PLOT PLOT PLOT!!! This is absolutely one of my top 5 Mafia Romance reads of all time (the three books together) because there is so much PLOT, the spice level is perfect for me as I’m sick of reading books which are mafia romance but have no mafia / plot and are just smut…. I get a lot of people like this, but personally that isn’t for me. KAYLA delivers in all three books and I must say from the first book I couldn’t stand Ranger. I finished Freeing Denver late last night and had an actual dream about next generation books - praying that’s a premonition hahaa. I LOVE LOVE LOVE all three of these books, I read on kindle and really need to add them to my bookshelf as trophies. Thank you Kayla for all the plot and tropes, three masterpieces 🤍

That was intense... if not a little messy. Some people are going to love this series while others hate it, and I found myself somewhere in between.

I was hooked enough to finish, which says something considering I was struggling with the tropes. My biggest issue was, I'm not sure who Denver's true love was. Ethan makes a subconcious appearance, and while I think the idea was to give closure, it only left me feeling empty. Did she love Ethan more than Colt? Does it matter? And the whole Ranger situation was obviously going to go down that path, but maybe we needed his POV to understand how things escalated so dramatically?

Maybe this is the essence of dark mafia romance... you gain and lose love in a world filled with tragedy. Maybe, this kind of story, where love takes on multiple different forms with multiple different people isn't for me... and thats okay. It was a captivating story, and I'm sure I'll keep reading Kayla Kyng's future work.

Freeing Denver absolutely wrecked me in the best way. This series had me stressed, emotional, obsessed, angry, hopeful, and fully addicted from beginning to end. The tension, the possessiveness, the chaos, the love…all of it was so consuming.

Denver’s growth throughout this series was my favourite part. Watching her fight for herself, heal, and figure out what kind of life and love she truly deserved felt so satisfying. And the romance in this one? Exactly the payoff I needed after everything these characters went through. Protective, passionate, messy, emotional, and deeply earned.

Kayla Kyng writes relationships that feel intense and raw while still making you completely invested in the outcome. I flew through this book and honestly didn’t want the series to end.

If you love emotionally charged romance, possessive men, high tension, found strength, and endings that actually feel worth the journey read this series immediately. 🌶️🖤

Ughhhhhhhh Kayla knows how to write a damn good book!

I've never dropped anything so fast to read a book!

I'm sure she was beside herself with my running commentary throughout my time reading this! So many twists and turns, so many feelings felt! The high stakes in this book was incredible and I will always shout Kayla praises for writing such a good story throughout all three books in the Denver universe! Even if I do call her a bitch in the middle of the night for making me cry with the last 10% of the book!

I will forever be your cheerleader and will always recommend your books to anyone and everyone! Thank you so so much for letting me be apart of Denver's journey!

✨ ARC Review: Freeing Denver ✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📖 Release date 9/26/25

The dedication warned me: “To everyone who made it this far: tissues at the ready. We’re nearly there.” 😭 And wow… they weren’t lying. I laughed, I cried and I may have yelled at my Kindle few times.

This book had it ALL:
🗡️ Betrayal that cut deep
⚡ Twists that left me shocked
❤️‍🔥 “I’ll burn the world” kind of love and loyalty
🔥 A powerful, resilient FMC who refuses to back down
👀 Morally gray gangsters who make it impossible to look away

Kayla Kyng truly delivered a finale that had my heart racing, breaking, and healing all at once. It’s raw, emotional, and unforgettable. If you’ve followed Deluxe’s journey from Taking Denver to Finding Denver, trust me—you are not ready, but you NEED this book.

📖 Freeing Denver is Book 3 in the Luxe Trilogy (must be read in order).

This book will make you ugly cry. But in the best way.

Book 3 picks right up where we left off in Finding Denver (NB: You need to read the other 2 books first otherwise nothing will make sense!)
Denver has been through so much and you will go on a real journey with her in this final chapter of this series as she and Colt navigate turmoil and trauma together. You WILL swoon over Colt as he protects and cares for Denver with a ferocity that is unmatched.

So well written. I look forward to seeing how Kayla is going to make me ugly cry in her next book!

Kayla Kyng really did an amazing job with the entire trilogy! You will definitely laugh , start sweating with those spicy moments and you will most of all cry … ALOT 😭 Denver is such a baddie and it’s so refreshing to have a story where the FMC is at the top of the boss chain.

The final book in the trilogy (that must be read in order) and it will still take you through alllllll the emotions.

Denver is our FMC who has been through everything you could possibly think of and more. There is always something around the corner for her and her family, too familiar to be an outsider, in a world where trust is a survival tool, how do you know who to put your faith in?

The book has a variety of different versions of love and how much affect the type of love you have/portray can have on you - Axel (IYKYK)

This conclusion was heartbreakingly good and it did not miss a step all the way until the end.

A truly epic finale for the Luxe Universe trilogy.

This was my first mafia romance series and it didn’t disappoint. It was emotional, dark, exciting, tense, spicy and heartbreaking. Part 2 was insane and kept me up way too late reading to find out what happened.

This book kept my attention throughout, it was nicely paced and full of twists and turns . Told mainly from Denver and Colt’s point of view with occasional chapters from Alistair.

I loved Denver. She was strong, fierce and has overcome so much. Colt is perfect and exactly what Denver needs and deserves.

This was definitely a 5 star read for me and I will be reading it again and again.

A utterly perfect conclusion to Denver’s story!

Filled with both trauma and hope, the heartbreaking events in this one will have you on the edge of your seat. The betrayals are far from over, and Denver, Colt, and the rest of the crew must navigate the power struggles and save not only their family, but its power and legacy.

There are still plenty of plot twists this will both shock and satisfy you in the end. Let’s just say certain characters finally got the ending they deserved!

And with an epilogue that gives me hope, and several ideas for second gen, I hope it’s not the last time we see these characters!

An amazing conclusion to this trilogy! I laughed I may have cried a little. This kept with having funny moments while full of dark and serious stuff and tragedy. :(
Colt is delectable.

I have to say the betrayal!!!! ugh, I had a feeling honestly but man I wanted to be wrong so bad! and I wasn't and I'm so heartbroken over it. He hid it so well and the shift at the reveal...just ugh, then he actually tried to end her....I will be feeling this betrayal for a long time.....Lewis you broke my heart dude.

I was only introduced to this author recently with her standalone novel within the same world but I definitely will read anything new she writes.

I need a drink after this *my mind is swimming*
I laughed, cried and had my mouth open throughout. My partner probably thought I was nuts haha!
We lose so much in this book and gain so much too.
I am not great at writing reviews so I hope that when you read this series you understand, because you NEED to read this series. One of my favourite of all time! It has consumed me.
Every single character whether you hate them or love them or hate them and then end up loving them...they are all beautifully written. They tie together so well and the ending is beautiful. Denver girl, you deserve it all!

I was lucky enough to get an arc for this which I was so excited for because the first 2 are just *chefs kiss* and oh my goodness Freeing Denver did not disappoint. What a fantastic end to this series. This series has literally shot up to one of my favourite all time reads. It’s incredibly clever and intricate. The characters are *chefs kiss* even the ones you aren’t meant to like. So much love for it! I’d give you 10 stars if I could! I look forward to the day this is a cinematic masterpiece because I’m calling that right now! Netflix take heed you’ve got a blinder here!
