I was lucky to have received a copy of this book from the author in a lovely PR box with some cheeky goodies!
Toni Douglas is an Australian indie author who likes to push the boundaries with romance stories. She tells her stories with a bit of heat and a bit of humour making for an interesting blend in a sultry romance story. “Walk In’s Welcome” is her debut romance novel with contains her signature blend of humour and heat.
Darcy is your normal average gal, plain and boring, with a normal job and a husband who works in the defence force – normal and steady.
Layla is the complete opposite – she's wild, confident and daring. Layla has entered the online world of pleasure and where almost everything has its price. A single mother who does her best to provide for her kids; Layla sells items to anonymous buyers on the internet. Things such as clippings of her hair and the underwear she wears.
She has one seller though Mr J, has started becoming obsessed with Layla, creating different accounts to ensure he is the only one buying everything that she must sell. Except Mr J takes things one step too far, the lines between client and reality become blurred.
Layla calls on the straight-laced friend Darcy to help her out before things get too out of hand. Because while Layla is finding herself becoming attracted to this Mr J, she needs to make sure healthy boundaries and understandings are set in place for the safety of all.
“Walk In’s Welcome” is literally the funniest, spicy romance book that I have ever read. The whole dynamic between Layla and Darcy is wonderfully written, they perfectly complement each other as they navigate the crazy life Layla has found for herself. What I really enjoyed about the author’s writing style in this book is they were able to offset a heavy and serious scene with some outrageous humour, lifting the scene and mood instantly. It was refreshing to read a romance story with situations and real life issues we are more likely to find in the world of today, not some outrageous crazy scenario; and given I understand how some of what Layla got up to could be pretty out there for some but it is a reality many face in this modern life. The characters and dialogue were real, reading it none of it seemed forced; it came across to me as genuine and just real. I genuinely enjoyed reading such a genuine and hilarious spicy romance story and hope there is more to come from this Aussie indie author.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ – Filth, flair, and a whole lot of “wait… did she just??”
Okay, let’s be real. This book? It did not come to play. It came to ruin lives, raise heart rates, and make me question whether lollipops are safe to consume in public ever again.
Toni Douglas, you spicy little debut queen, what have you done to me?
Reading Walk In’s Welcome felt like being slapped across the face with a velvet glove and then politely asked if I’d like another. Layla, our seductive digital fantasy mastermind, is serving main character energy, hot girl confidence, and bedroom secrets that would make Satan sweat. And Darcy? Her bestie? A buttoned-up, judgmental delight who walks into this spicy plot and immediately gives off “gay panic but with sass” vibes. Their dynamic? It’s giving Will & Grace meets Sex and the City with a splash of “oops, I dropped my morals.”
Imagine the panic of listening to smutty audio in public, headphones in, grocery cart full, praying no one can hear—but you’re actually home, in your PJs, with your dogs giving you side-eye like you just summoned a demon. That was me with Walk In’s Welcome. I wasn’t in public, but it felt like I was and I was one page away from fanning myself with the nearest plant.
Are the scenes totally realistic? Babes, I pray not. But the back of the book says it’s “mostly not true,” which means somewhere, somehow, someone’s living this life and I need their skincare routine and playlist immediately.
Final verdict: This book is nasty in the best way. Unhinged, unapologetic, chaos wrapped in a plot that’s part fantasy, part emotional rollercoaster, part "I need holy water." Toni Douglas, welcome to the scene... you did the damn thing.
OMG I'm simultaneously turned on, kinda grossed out but also inspired?? I was gifted this book by the author, and I was so grateful I had to read it as quickly as possible. It was such a funny, spicy, and mysterious read! If you love smut and some female best friend comedy, this book is for you! ps. if you want to monetise your 'assets' this book will inspire you ✨️ 🔥🔥
Walk-Ins Welcome is a dark romance with a funny edge that kept me hooked from start to finish. The FMC sells items online, and the MMC becomes a regular buyer—sparking a tense, intriguing connection that’s anything but ordinary. Toni Douglas balances the darkness with humor perfectly, making this a unique and addictive read.
Get ready to laugh so hard you might actually pee your pants while your husband is staring at you like you’ve officially lost your mind because that was me for the last 4hrs it took me to devour this delightfully hilarious little book
What in the delicious smutty goodness did I just experience?! Walk In's Welcome by Toni Douglas is a steamy, emotionally layered debut that blends digital-age sensuality with heartfelt storytelling. It boldly explores desire, deep friendship, and the blurred lines between fantasy and obsession — in the most thrilling way possible. This book is hot as hell — I will never look at strawberry lollipops the same way again. Seriously, someone hand me a fan because it hit a full 100 degrees in my own panties. I’m surprised they stayed on my body! Let’s start with the aesthetics of the book: the black and gold cover? Pure seduction. Glossy pages, clean layout, perfect font size— it’s a physical reading experience that feels as good as the story inside. It’s a book you want to touch as much as read. Puts meaning to “spread those pages” (Yep — I said it.) Toni Douglas has delivered an insanely addictive debut that’s as spicy as it is smart. The writing is crisp, smooth, and so easy to devour in one sitting — and trust me, I did. And then I wanted seconds. And maybe thirds. (No judgment.) Three POVs add rich depth and texture, especially the electric connection between Layla and Darcy — their friendship was unexpected and so well written. Darcy and Jessie had chemistry that made the spicy scenes hit… hard and dripping with heat. Plus don’t even get me started on that twist. Fresh, filthy, and full of heart — this book isn’t just about heat (though there’s plenty of that), it’s about connection, confidence, and giving zero apologies for your desires. Strap in (or… don’t), because this ride is messy, wild, and unforgettable. Final verdict: Buy the book, clear your schedule, and make sure your underwear drawer is stocked. You’ve been warned. 😉
Listen, this book had me from page one when “girl dinner” was mentioned😂
I didn’t know what to expect going in — but I did NOT expect to binge read it in 48 hours and be absolutely dying for more Layla & Mr J. I may have re-read the fancy restaurant chapter more times than I care to admit. 😈
The humor? Elite. I was hot and giggling the whole time. Lollipops? Are you kidding me — hilarious AND hot at the same time. IYKYK. 🍭
And Mr J? Did not expect him to turn into such a sexy, assertive daddy — honestly, I don’t even think he saw it coming. 😮💨
This one is a total binge-worthy, blush-inducing, laugh-out-loud spicy read that you won’t be able to put down. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Get ready to dive headfirst into Toni Douglas's Walk-Ins Welcome, a book that totally flips the script on modern friendships and making a buck in unexpected ways. This one throws you right into the hilarious chaos of besties Layla and Darcy's lives, serving up a story that's both super steamy and laugh-out-loud funny. Seriously, prepare to snort-laugh. What makes Walk-Ins Welcome stand out? It's got this amazing blend of real-life feels and a killer sense of humor. The whole thing kicks off with Layla jumping into a pretty wild online gig: selling her underwear and other personal stuff for cash. And trust me, that little venture quickly spins into a bunch of crazy escapades. Darcy, her totally loyal but sometimes-grumpy best friend, gets dragged along for the ride, and their back-and-forth is pure gold. Their friendship is totally the heart of this book, showing off a bond that's supportive, wild, and just plain bonkers. Ooooo girl, the way I absolutely DEVOURED this book! I was OBSESSED!
It is spicy, it is taboo but it was also so incredibly funny I could't put it down. Layla is literally so unapologetically herself and I loved every single minute of it. She has the confidence of multiple people put together, she isn't afriad to do some weird shit in the name of new experiences and of course a hefty payout for her time but she is downright hilarious with half the things she comes out with through this book. Darcey her best friend is also hilarious and fully suports her crazy adventures because of course she's here for the gossip and watching her girl make bank in the most scandelous of ways.
Layla has had a less than ideal run with life when it comes to relationships in the past so when she decides to enter the digital space and sell her goods ranging from panties to hair clippings it was bound to get entertaining. Mr J is her top buyer and has dropped a pretty penny on all the things she sells not only for his personal fetish but also for his obsession with Walkin AKA Layla. When things escalate and quickly heat up off of their annoymous platform things were bound to be scandelous, dangerous but oh so good at the same time.
If you need a funny and spicy read that is super short then girl this book is for you.
Also the tie scene had me in an absolute chokehold. It is hot, hot, hot and I would definitely recommend for a wild and entertaining time.
In Walk Ins Welcome, rising indie romance star Toni Douglas turns up the heat with Layla, a bold heroine running an intimate digital business where every client’s fantasy becomes a story worth telling. As passions ignite and boundaries blur, Layla’s grounded best friend Darcy adds heart and humor to the mix. With its blend of steamy encounters, emotional depth, and unexpected twists, this sizzling debut explores the power of connection, desire, and friendship in all its messy, magnetic glory.
I came into this book completely blind. For the first 40 percent, I had no idea what genre I was even reading. It felt like sitting in on a gossip session with best friends. I was confused, but completely addicted.
I had mixed feelings throughout. I cringed, felt thrilled, excited, shocked, scared, and at times grossed out. But it was such a fun and different kind of book that held me in its clutches the whole time.
I was constantly on edge thinking, omg she didn’t or she won’t… but she did, and she is so unapologetic about it too. I was halfway wanting to sign myself up and equally scarred for life.
Some parts were so realistic, especially her inner dialogue. It was painfully relatable. And others had me thinking, oh I wish that could happen in real life.
What an amazing debut. I cannot wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.
Layla's is a single mother of two trying her best to provide for her children. Layla has discovered that she can live quiet comfortable and save a huge portion of her income and provide for her children if she is willing to sell certain personal things. What started as selling a few pairs of panties has turned into so much more. Layla's best friend Darcy isn't really on board with this "job" to begin with but when a certain client requires more attention, Darcy is all for the added income.
WTF did i just read lol First Layla's & Darcy's relationship is the definition of ride or die. How the two interact at times is just hilarious. Layla's desire to work and provide is admirable but in the end i think she really just wanted J.
And WTF is with the ending??? They are just going to "see what happens" come on. I need something more, this literally left me staring at my kindle asking my husband, "is that it?" to which he replied, "what?" Oh and excuse me but pee guy, WTF LMAO
This would have been a 5 star for me if that ending was more, but its a 10 on the spice rating. 10/10 recommend.

This was a quick read. I hoped for something fun based on the description, but was deeply let down. I’m all for dark romance, and unhinged material. But I want it to be well written. Simple grammatical and spelling issues pulled me out of the story every time. The plot was rushed, the flashbacks weren’t clearly delineated, and the characterisations were not effective enough that the particular brand of ‘crazy’ being presented was tolerable. There was plenty of spice, and especially some of the later scenes started well, but the climax of those scenes was also rushed, and the plot felt somewhat lazy in its delivery. It very much felt like smut for the sake of writing something ‘sensational,’ however it lacked the impact of quality delivery. I would avoid - there’s far better written spice available.
OMG THIS BOOK WAS HILARIOUS!!! I went into it not knowing anything about what the story was about and I’m so glad I did because I don’t think I have cried from laughing in so long. We meet Layla who is a single mum of two who “works from home” selling her “personal” items and Jessie who loves to buy them. We also get Darcy’s POV (Layla’s best friend) and hold on to your knickers because you’re in for a wild ride. Highly recommend
I haven’t switched between laughing hysterically and gasping this much while reading a book, EVER!
Yes, the spice is great and yes, the chaos had me crying with laughter, but the real gem? Layla and Darcy’s friendship. Their dynamic is everything — grounding, chaotic, loyal, and painfully relatable.
This book had me blushing, giggling, and genuinely inspired. Such a fun, wild ride. You absolutely killed it, Toni!
Walk Ins Welcome had me blushing and laughing! A filthy good time and the concept of this story was so different and new, highly recommended!
We follow Layla, a full time mum who now makes a living working from home as an adult content creator and also selling “personal” items. We get to see the POV from Mr J, one of Laylas clients and Darcy her best friend!
I went into this blind, an I am so happy I did, it blew me away, in the best way!
This book, will blow the dust out of your bits! Wild, raunchy and items used in ways you’ve never thought of. It will tickle you somewhere for sure! This book should be shared with those who need a spark back in their life, and for those who want to seriously dip their minds into a world of self exploration. Can’t wait for the next book!!!
I didn’t enjoy this novel very much. It was quite hard to read, the immersion kept breaking every time I stumbled upon a grammatical error which was quite often. I stopped half way and have just put it in the local community library down the road. Unfortunately don’t recommend but it did sound interesting.
This was a fun little degenerate novella and I smashed it out in one sitting. The real world conundrums about selling one’s self are still interesting food for thought and I thought this was explored really well through the financial benefits. One thing for certain is I defintely won’t be eating a lollipop anytime soon 🫠🤣 4.5 stars! Great and had me hooked haha
I was lucky enough to get this on pre-order. The book was honest, true and witty all the way. As Toni's first book, this blew my mind and im waiting very impatiently for the next instalment.
Oh my goodness- This book is hilarious it had me laughing and blushing - I needed to fan myself this book had me feeling dirty for readding it.
Our FMC is a single mum that is just trying to make ends meet in a digital world, she sends personal items to her subscribers. Her Best friend is bringing the energy we need supporting layla and being the ultimate hype girl. Then Jessie the MMC is bringing that daddy energy and holy hell is it hot.
