Jackson Allen threw his entire family into turmoil with a sudden decision to disrupt their lives on the beaches of Southern California and move to a small town in Tennessee.
Shrouded in mystery and secrets he purposely forced unfamiliar distance between himself, his wife Suzann and their two teen age children, volunteering no explanation other than his responsibility to sell the family home.
Their arrival in Sommerville, a place Jackson had abruptly left and put behind him over twenty years earlier, would stir the dust of a family secret that had lay dormant for over fifty years. Old myths and legends surrounding the wealthy and mysterious Allen’s had been told and retold in the small community for nearly four generations.
Sixteen-year-old Aspen soon found herself immersed in a world of the paranormal and extrasensory phenomena that soon helped in bridging a tense relationship with her brother, Noah.

I wrote my first book when i was twelve, I guess actually before that - I used to write stories on blank paper, fold them into books and read them to the neighborhood kids and my little sisters friends.
I started teaching dance when I was seventeen which developed into a rewarding career that I absolutely loved for nearly fifty years.
I married in 1970 and over the next twenty-two years we raised six amazing kids!
Utah was our home for nineteen years then we moved to CA and then in 2009 I moved back to Utah. Finally I had time to write and published my first book in 2014.
I love to read, write, run/walk (I ran marathons for ten years would love to get back into it but right now walking works!) I enjoy cycling, hiking, spending time with friends, movies and musicals.
My favorite thing to do is spend time with my six kids and their families which have blessed me with seventeen fantabulous grandkids!
I am blessed in every way and I thank God every day for my wonderful life!
Heads up. Editing error are plentiful in this book. As annoying as the errors were, I thought this story was rather well done. I am intrigued enough to carry on with the story into book 2. Errors include phrases being repeated as well as grammatical errors.
Aspen seems to see dead people. However, how does she determine who is good and who is evil? Losing friends as she moves from California to Somerville, she gains new friends as well. Maybe even live starts to bloom.
Warning for calling people crazy. Saying people may need to be committed to any asylum, and reference to someone that would rather commit suicide than do something.
Mystic Angel is the kind of story that lingers with you long after you’ve turned the last page. It weaves family drama, long-buried secrets, and a touch of the paranormal into something both heartfelt and haunting. The characters feel alive, especially Aspen, whose curiosity and resilience make her journey compelling. Beneath the mystery, it’s a moving exploration of family bonds, the weight of the past, and finding connection in unexpected places.
