Story about Benjamin Monkey who does not know when to keep his mouth shut and always has to have the last word. He does not want to go to bed, wipe his feet or get up for school. In the final analysis his parents demand respect. When Benjamin understands he won't get what he wants unless he is polite, he learns how to comply.
By and large, preschoolers will get the message through large bold and colorful illustrations. There are a few editing issues and the parents send mixed messages at the beginning of the story, but it is a good starting point of discussion for parents to explain why children need to avoid backtalk.
