My name is Kendall Carrington—or so I thought.

One night, a routine traffic stop turned the world I thought I knew upside down. I wasn’t who I thought I was. No one was. I had been kidnapped when I was young, and everything I had been told was all a lie. But the lies didn’t end there. If it hadn’t been for Lincoln Hunt, I might not have ever found out the truth.

My real name is Danielle Tucker.

This is my story of pain, betrayal, and finding the true meaning of home.

Leddy Harper had to use her imagination often as a child. She grew up the only girl in a house full of boys. At the age of fourteen, she decided to use that imagination and wrote her first book, and never stopped.

She often calls writing her therapy, using it as a way to deal with issues through the eyes of her characters.
The decision to publish her first book was made as a way of showing her children to go after whatever it is they want to. Love what you do and do it well. Most importantly Leddy wanted to teach them what it means to overcome their fears.

STARS: 4 STARS
POV: Danielle
RELEASE DATE: 16 OCTOBER 2014
HEA:

First off I would like to thank the Author for an advanced copy! I really enjoyed this.

I just want to go home, to my home, my real home; that would make me feel better.

But where is home? What is home?

Some would say this is a love triangle. But I don’t think so. Danielle was put into a bad situation from a young age and she didn’t know of any better.

This is my Danielle

This is my Linx :

This is my Billy

Danielle is 17 years old. But this story didn’t feel like a young adult book.

On one fateful night Danielle is found. But does Danielle really want to be found? She is put in a situation that she doesn’t really want to be in. She wants her old life back, she wants Billy and John. She can only go back in 6months time.

I was named Danielle Tucker, and it was changed to Kendall Carrington without their choosing

Everything is new.

Everything she knew was a lie.

Secrets and the past is revealed.

She struggles to adapt in her new surroundings.

Her past was not pretty but she was used to it. She was cared for.

Billy is an absolute ASSHOLE! I didn’t like him. Yes I felt sorry for him. But he ‘knew’ all along.

Linx was Danielle saving grace. He would do anything for him.

I understand Linx fears, I think I would have felt the same way if I was in his situation. But he was ALWAYS there for Danielle.

How will end this? Will she start a new future or will she go back to the past?

Ok, now...
This book started off at a good pace of well-built psychological novel with involving premise. Then, halfway through it somehow mutated into an unbearable adolescent novel. With an incredibly immature main heroine. Yes, I get it, it was the whole point that as a result of all her woes, she remained basically severely underdeveloped on a number of emotial, social and familial issues. But still it was really grating on my nerves. All the while her victim-lover, Linc, was shown as a much too much mature for his age guy. Which is pretty much unbelievable, since most boys mature at a much slower pace than girls. Even atypical ones.

Really?
“And while I was out, I picked up some pregnancy magazines and a baby name book for you to go through.”
For you to go through. My heart that was just beating erratically in my chest had fallen to the floor. Rejection. He didn’t want to go through the names with me, he wanted me to do it alone. There was that word again.!"
This girl is supposed to have a child, another guy's child, in, what, 7 mnths? And such immaturity is uhhhhhh!!! Too much ado about nothing.

And:
“Hunt?” he asked, almost stumbling over his own last name.I immediately regretted it. I hadn’t thought of how terrifying giving my baby his last name would be. And we hadn’t even discussed it yet. I just assumed, and his reaction made me feel like a fool.
And:
“I just figured if everyone thinks the baby is yours, it’d only make sense to have your last name.”
Ok, at some perverse fantasy point one might think this all is sweet. But from the point of reality this is parasitising at its purest.

MY RATING ☆☆☆☆Home No More by Leddy Harper

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

This surprised me with how much I actually enjoyed it, I kind of jumped on it because the cover gives that feeling of being dark, which is far from the case, the female did tend to grind on my nerves but in the bigger scheme of things when you look at her trying to find her place in the world again you can forgive her annoying indecisive moments..

For some reason, the name Kendall no longer felt right. Maybe it didn't feel right because I no longer felt like her. I was no longer the strong girl. I was lost and confused, I was scared and empty

KIDNAPPED

So the story begins with Kendall Carrington getting pulled up by a cop for a broken tail light..

Ma'am, you are not showing up in the DMV records for the entire state. This car is not registered to you, and you have no way to prove your identity. I am going to need to take me with me. Please open the door and step out with your hands up.

Imagine everything you thought you knew was all lies!! Your age, your name, the person who raised you, your home..ALL LIES!!

I am just a girl that grew up in a loving home. I was loved. I was taken care of. I was a normal kid. I was not hurt, or damaged, or broken..

Your heart goes out to Kendall aka Danielle when she slowly uncovers all the web of lies and you start to think maybe it was a blessing in disguise what happened to her..

But where I wasn't torn was her love for two men I loved Link right from the start..

Will you be my always, Will you be my forever, Will you be my every morning, my every night, My every dream and my everything ~ Link

I'm excited to see what else this author writes for us in the future!!

What a brilliant debut book, I am waiting to learn that Leddy Harper is a pen name for an established author and if not then this lady is one to watch for. This is a brilliant well constructed story with a unique twist on the taken genre that is very popular.
What do you do when you realise your whole life is a lie? What seems like a routine traffic stop turns Kendall Carrington’s life upside down when she discovers that she was taken from her family as a toddler, fourteen years prior. We watch as Kendall learns to adjust with being removed from the only family she has known and ask the question of how much is nature over nurture. Kendall’s upbringing as however been far from traditional and she has been living a life without parental control for the last few years and wants to escape the restraints she know feels to escape back to the “freedom” of her past life and Billy, the man she loves.
She meets a neighbour Lincoln/Link Hunt and just as their friendship is developing Kendall makes an unexpected discovery and in a moment of panic drags Link into a situation neither of them is ready for. As Kendall’s story comes to light she learns that her birth family are keeping secrets from her too that she sets out to uncover and along the way learns that both her lives were always unconventionally tied together. Kendall is torn between her two lives and the rejection she feels from both families has her chasing to make decisions and pushing the limits of the relationships with everyone in her life. Kendall finds some of the answers to her questions come from returning to her past life to be faced with a shocking possibility that shakes her to the core.
Through all this Kendall slowly starts to embrace her new life and accept that she is Danielle as her birth family call her but she is caught up with a major link back to her former life that just keeps pulling the two together. As Danielle she has to learn how to move on and adjust to the new life she has but is she ready to finally let her past go and concentrate on building a new life for herself in the future?
Leddy has done a brilliant job with this story that will have you on the edge of your seat through the many twists and turns as the truths come to light.

Wow, this book was a total cluster fuck of issues. The story line was just crazy, couldn't relate to the characters, the flip/flop of everyone in this story was hard to keep up with. Each character has so many issues that are unresolved and let unanswered. I tried to get into this story but I just couldn't.

I loved this book, i loved it SO much, Leddy Harper is definitely my new favorite author. This is my third book by her and i just can’t get enough of her stories, they’re so engaging and intense.
That said, this story is different from what i expected but the outcome was so much worth it, i loved Kendall/Danielle she’s such a strong character and deserves her HEA. I would have preferred if she didn’t end up into another man’s arms but Link is perfect, oh god he’s so sweet and thoughtful and exactly what Danielle needed,
All in all, solid 4 stars! Worth every minute

I'm intrigued by the beginning so far. One chapter in and I'm hooked. I can tell this is going to be captivating because of the mysterious way it's written. The writing is very good. This story deals with the fear of rejection and one girls struggle to find herself.
The story feels so therapeutic.
Kendall's life has been a lie. Billy is a smart guy who wants Kendall to learn the truth and to take the time to find herself before choosing to come back to him.
Trying to figure out why Kendall is so blasé about life. Once Kendall is away from the sheltered life she lived she gains new perspective on how she lived her life. For the first time she is questioning her life choices as something that might not be considered acceptable behavior or normal behavior. Here lies the question does Kendall care to fit into what society considers to be acceptable behavior or is what she craves acceptable enough for her? Another question is what is love and when you do know you are in love? This story dealt with many different types of love.

The grey area in life that I come to appreciate. Life is not as black and white as we make it out to be. One persons wrong and another persons wrong does not equate to another wrong. It works but does not fit into the laws of what's considered right from wrong. A conundrum.
Nothing is what it seems. You think you understand a person then realize you really do not. You have to look at everything in life from so many different perspectives to gain clarity on a situation. It becomes vague.
I like that this story reads like it was not made up. The details are fantastic. It's cleverly written.
Kendall's isolation of her life has made her ignorant to the outside world. I like that Kendall talks to a therapist who helps her open her eyes to other possibilities in life. I like Link who for as young as he is acts so mature when faced with Kendall's drama. I like that Link made Danielle feel whole and helped her find home.

If you never read any of Leddy Harper’s books what are you waiting on? Don’t be like me and punish yourself for sleeping on this amazing author. Once I started this book I couldn’t put it down. It had me at the very beginning. I finished this book last night and I was unable to think. I was without words. I just had to put my Kindle down and feel. To just let everything sink in.

All I heard was how great Home No More was and this book is caught my attention and I read the synopsis and it immediately drew me in. This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. I went from mad, happy, shocked, and all in a matter of minutes. You name it, I know I felt it. I would be laughing one minute and screaming at the book the next. Some characters made me happy and some not so much. I don't know what it would take for you to like a story, but this book did it for me. It made it to one of my all times favorites! I love a book that can make me feel happy and sad. Make me laugh and cry and that’s exactly what this book did.

This book left me breathless and author writing will have you feeling every emotion Kendall aka Danielle went through. This book is the absolute best!
Kendall was not my favorite person at all. She made me mad through the entire book. After I read the book and sat back and thought about it. I can’t say how I would’ve acted. When your life take a turn from everything you ever known how can you say what your reactions would be, you can’t. I found myself admiring her. Kendall was very strong. All the things she goes through are not easy and it broke my heart several times. But she stuck through it and became the most loving, caring, understanding person. She found herself and learned to love herself. The Author couldn’t have made a better character. I loved the curve balls the plot has and how all answer are there in the end.
I'm looking forward to reading more 5 star books by Leddy.

What an amazing book. This is the story of a girl named Kendall/Danielle whose life is about to change forever. Kendall must learn to live her life differently. How would you be if everything you have ever known is not really what it seems? This book made me cry, scream, smile and ache. This story takes us through a range of emotions along with some twists. It was fantastic read beginning to end. My heart will always be with Billy.

Definitely hard to put down. I almost stopped after some of the vulgar scenes but so glad I kept going. I do think Billy deserved more. He was tortured but a great soul and he got ripped off. But great read!!

I did not finish this book, and will not be reviewing it. Let's just say, I was severely disappointed in the storyline and disgusted by the language the heroine used. I can take a little, but this was too much. I'm sad to do this, but I can't continue reading.

I enjoyed this book, even if I did think that it dragged somewhat in some sections.

I felt for Kendall/Danielle and her anger towards everyone as she was suddenly ripped from everything she knew, only to find out that this was the second time. I liked Linc's character and Billy's too, even though he was a little harder to like.

The only thing I felt was that she literally had no interaction with anyone other than her Grandmother, Uncle , Linc and her therapist in her new life. She didn't make any friends and experience anything. She went from Jon and Billy, to Billy, to Linc. I thought it might have been more interesting if she branched out a little further, maybe tried college or even high school and met some interesting people.

Linc was a good guy, but what did she really have to compare him to other than Billy? And the fact that neither of them were even 18 yet. Why would Linc's parents agree to him supporting her even after they found out the truth?

Billy seemed like he had some problems of his own, but his heart was basically in the right place. I would have enjoyed getting into his head a little bit, maybe seen some of his POV and exactly what he knew and didn't know.

The one person I didn't understand at all was her Uncle Jack. He was an ass, and I don't really care what his reasons were. Everyone could have been way more open with her about the circumstances too. These were some of the frustrations, but overall I think it was a good story and I think it ended well.

I DNF'd this in the past but because I love Leddy Harper's stories, though I'd try it again.

Sadly, it wasn't any better than the first time I tried to read it. I thought the characters were unrealistic; Link was too mature for his age and Kendall's maturing too abrupt for the amount of time they spent together. (This isn't saying much because because Kendall was incredibly childish for the whole book.)

The beginning of the story was interesting and we got a good look inside Kendall's head. In fact, she seemed more grownup at the beginning of the book - all the ways she acted were understandable after what she discovered and subsequently went through. But then the story began to drag with lots of repetition and too much exposition. I stopped feeling connected to the characters and invested in the story around the 35% mark. It was around that point that I started skimming.

I did note this was Leddy Harper's first published story so that likely explains most if not all of my complaints. She is a very talented author and I would highly recommend any of her other books that I've read.

It only took one night to turn Kendall's life upside down.
After the initial shock she wants to regain her previous life but since she has no choice she will have to wait 6 months and in the meantime learn to adapt.
I could not connect with her. It is so immature, so closed and so selfish that it got on my nerves. As the months went by he only saw his selfishness. How he involved Link in his problems without regret. As he gave nothing of her and demanded everything from others.
Link is a good boy but for me it is not credible that at only 17 he had the maturity to accept a fatherhood that is not his and to act like a whole man. Besides that I failed to capture the chemistry between them.
I was able to connect more with Billy, who didn't like me, but I thought he was a more genuine character.
Although Danielle began to mature and accept who she was now, her progress was not credible, I felt forced and false.
Anyway, I could not connect with the story or any of the characters.

3.5 confused stars!

Just like Danielle/Kendall I was confused at first of her character. She was not likable but who am I to judge her when she was confined since she was 4 until recently. But, nonetheless, she had redeemed herself at the end. She had realized the importance of her family, real family who had lived their loss. She had appreciated those people who were their for her to help and love.

I liked the ending.

Kendall thought her life was perfect than one night it comes to a stop when she gets stopped and realize even her name is not her name. She meets a boy named linc and he might be just the one to save her from herself.

I loved Leddy Harper's My Biggest Mistake. When I read the blurb of this one, it sounds interesting that's why I read it. However, this one is really terrible. I just did not stop reading it because I already have a lot of DNFs. What a shame. It has a nice premise.
