Keisha Tyree is a thirty-three year old author and mother. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, she currently resides in the Maryland/Washington D.C. area. Having been a lover of words and reading from a very young age, Ms. Tyree's progression into writing seemed to happen almost naturally. Starting out, she mostly penned short stories and poetry. After sharing her work with a few family members and friends, Keisha was overwhelmingly encouraged to turn her short stories into full length novels. She pondered on the ideal for a while, but it wasn't until she began working as a personal assistant to New York Times bestselling authors, Ashley and JaQuavis, that Ms. Tyree truly decided to pursue her dreams of becoming an author. Gestating her work for months, Ms. Tyree banged away at the keyboard every day until the last word was written and her debut novel, Heavy, was finally born.

Keisha Tyree's writing style is byproduct of the streets in which she was raised; gritty, urban, honest and uncut. Her work seeks to shed light on the untold stories from our nation's countless, and often times forgotten about ghettos. Signed to the Official Writer's League (O.W.L), the publishing company created by author's Ashley & JaQuavis Coleman, Keisha's debut novel Heavy, is currently causing a stir in world of urban fiction.

Keisha is currently hard at work on the follow up to Heavy, which is due out fall/winter 2013.

HEAVY IS THE HEAD THAT WEARS THE CROWN

The Heavy Series was well worth the wait. I was so jumpy and unsure of what or who was gonna happen next that need to read this story during that day. The action pack and drama filled story line is one you will definitely remeber. Keisha Took the time to get you to know each character so you could actually feel what they were feel throughout the story. Spoiler as much as I didn't want Alaska to die it came with the game and Brodie was a punk ass dude for that. But The Heavy Series is a much read one-click so you can enjoy the rollercoaster of events and watch them unfold.
Great job Keisha and I hope Tamika gets to raise Lil Jay :) Because we all know Omar is about to paint the town RED

Wow! I was definitely not expecting that ending at all. I could not believe that Daphne had the nerve to try that with Alaska only for money from Santee. I was extremely shocked to find out about Omar's return to the story and also happy. But wow, Brodie really had a death wish for Alaska. And how Jay died was really messed up but he put himself in that position...This book definitely came full circle and I enjoyed reading it.

Great way end this series

I am so glad the Author didn't drag out this series. She kept it to two books. Sad ending wish it could be fairly tale end.
