Kira is an average sweet 17 year old girl who struggles with self esteem issues. 17 year old Kyle is the complete opposite, and is known as a typical “bad boy” who enjoys rebelling, and his dad is Kira’s mom’s boss. Things change for both Kira and Kyle as they are forced to spend time together in a beach house for the summer, because Kyle’s parents convinced Kira’s parents to spend summer vacation with them.

3.5 stars This cute novel is a teen romance story that balances heartache with hope and transformation.

Kira is a 16 yo teen who struggles with body image as she isn’t fully developed like the other girls her age. And then there is Kyle who is rebellious going into his senior year of high school and always getting into trouble.

It’s mostly Kyle acting out as he’s having to live with his dad and step mom. He misses his mom and so he acts out and instead of getting him help, they just punish him.

It’s vacation time and Kyle‘s family invites Kira’s family to spend a summer vacation at the beach.

Their forced proximity leads to a compelling exploration of vulnerability, growth, and the blossoming of an unlikely connection.

This was a short quick and enjoyable read.

Sweet love story!

I felt like I was in high-school again reading this book! The author is young and I felt that with this book....it was so pure and sweet about a good girl and a bad boy getting to know each other over the summer on a vacation with their parents. I laughed a little as I read this book feeling like I was there with them!
