Memento Sentire: A Gothic Forbidden Romance

Rate this book
Gideon Raith is an enigma. To his family, his coworkers, and primarily, himself. After a brutal assault in his formative years, Gideon’s struggled to regain his footing in a world where no one accepted him. To humans, he’s a satanic force. To witches, he’s a convenient, mind-reading tool but ultimately uninteresting enough to be of consequence. Now, he wakes up every day to play professor at Folke University and it’s underground School of the Old Arts. And it’s fine.

Gin Morgan is the daughter of traveling artists, so they call themselves. It wasn’t until a serendipitous tour at Folke University that Gin found her footing and a love of academia. She finally belonged somewhere. And she’s content.

But when Gin’s Teaching Assistant assignment is changed at the last minute, the two are put on a collision course. Raith was the last professor she wanted to work under, all arrogance and nihilist philosophy. Gin was the last grad student he wanted to babysit, all sarcasm and creative drivel.

As the semester marches on, disdain turns to rivalry, and rivalry to it’s mirror image, lust. In a bid to cling to his self-control, Gideon offers an arrangement. A very spicy arrangement to sate the lust without compromising any boundaries. Should be no problem, just good, filthy, fun. No feelings whatsoever.

But as the consequences of Gideon’s past rear its ugly head and threaten the tenuous balance he’s created, he’ll have to finally decide who he is, what he wants, and what he’s made of before it costs him everything. And Gin will have to decide if sacrificing her hard-won peace is worth his whirlwind. Will their fragile trust survive the reckoning, or will the ghosts at his heels finally drag him under?
