Have you ever had a bad manager? Do you want to be a GOOD manager? Would you believe that it might be better to listen to the people on The Floor about what it means to be a good manager than to take advice from a world class company manager who's made millions of dollars? This book is written for The Floor by someone from the floor, but who has also run a small business. It is my hope that those who truly seek to be better managers and supervisors can find the value in the experience of those who work the job day after day after long, long day. I hope that those in leadership positions can feel how important it is to get what it's like to work for someone like them. I really hope you enjoy this book and my unique perspective of life as a Gremlin on The Floor watching The Guv'nor figure things out in the Ivory Tower.
As a manager (guv'nor), I am aware that I only get a glimpse into the true feelings of my staff. I truly want to be the leader that clears the path for them to achieve what they are looking for in the company. I have read many books by CEOs who have made their KPIs and had success. That is all well and good, but how did the employee feel? They often purport to know how that employee feels, but how can they really? Having honest feedback, in a cohesive and usable manner, is better than any book written from the top down perspective.
