About the author

Игорь Павлович Мотяшов. Russian critic, literary critic; candidate of philosophical sciences.

In 1954 he graduated from the philological faculty of the Moscow State Pedagogical Institute named after V.I. V.I. Lenin .

In 1957 he joined the CPSU.

Igor has published since 1955 many articles and books on Soviet children's literature, which examined the work of Sergey Mikhalkov, Agnia Barto, Sergei Alexeyev, Zoya Voskresenskaya , Albert Likhanov and others.

A wonderful collection of short stories, depicting the classic Russian leanings for tragedy and an unnameable pain. The stories are not to be read to children though - they are too poignant, too tragic and pensive - especially the title story. These are stories featuring children to be read by adults.

Brilliant, and truly a hidden gem in Russian literature. Recommended to anyone who likes classic Russian literature.

এই বইটা অনেকেরই ছোটবেলার প্রিয় ব‌ই। আমার ক্ষেত্রে এটা আমার পড়া একেবারে প্রথম ব‌ইগুলোর একটা। এটা বোনের সূত্রে আমার হাতে আসে যখন , তখন আমি ৭কি ৮ । অ আ ক খ বানান করে বেশ কয়েকবার পড়েও তখন কিছু ই বোধগম্য হয়নি । আর এখন প্রায় এক দশক পর এক‌ই ব‌ই পড়ে মুগ্ধ হয়েছি। ব‌ইটাতে গল্প আছে তিনটি (কোনো পৃষ্ঠা খোয়া গেছে কিনা বুঝতে পারছি না 🥲)
১.সার্কাসের ছেলে, এই গল্প টা বেশ লেগেছে, ছোটবেলায় বুঝতে না পারলেও এখন পড়ে লেখকের মেসেজটা বোধহয় ধরতে পেরেছি। পার্সোনাল রেটিং:৮/১০
২.সিগন্যাল , এটা অসাধারণ লেগেছে। একজন মানুষের প্রতিহিংসা, তার বিপরীতে অন্য একজনের দায়িত্বশীলতা দেখে মুগ্ধ হয়েছি। পার্সোনাল রেটিং:৮.৫/১০
৩.ককেশাসের বন্দী, অসুস্থ মা কে দেখতে গিয়ে জংলিদের হাতে বন্দী হ‌ওয়ার গল্প। এটাতে বেশ মজা আছে। পার্সোনাল রেটিং:৮/১০
এবার একটা বিষয় বলি, এই বই টা পড়ে লক্ষ্য করেছি যে , ব‌ইয়ের প্রতিটা গল্প ই এমন ভাবে শেষ হয়েছে যেখানে গল্পের পরিণতি দেখানো হয়নি । গল্প গুলো আপনার ব্রেইন কে হালকা টিস করবে এবং আপনার জানতে ইচ্ছা হবে এরপর কি হলো ? কিন্তু সেটা সম্পূর্ণ ই আপনার কল্পনার উপর ছেড়ে দিয়ে গল্পে ইতি টানা হয়েছে। সবমিলিয়ে সুখপাঠ্য একটি ব‌ই।

I read the Hindi translation (title Shreshtha Roosi Baal Kathaayein). The title story was called Rubber ka Putla. Most of the stories were very sad, only the last one, where the protagonist who was captured by Tartars managed to escape, had a happy ending.
