Everything happens in its time…

For Jeffrey Oakes, life in the seventeenth century hasn’t been the thrilling change of pace he hoped it would be. The lack of power tools, better hygiene, and cold beer has him yearning for the luxuries of his modern-day life. It might all be bearable if he had someone to maneuver the cultural differences and minimal conveniences with—someone with whom he could make a life. But among the Scottish countryside, with women so different from himself, he knows his chances of finding such a woman are small. If only Morna could work her magic for him like she has done for so many others…

Kathleen Carter’s life is changing. With enough money now saved to fulfill her dream of restoring the castle she inherited, her job as housemaid is coming to an end. All she wants now is for moving day to arrive so that she can get to Scotland. She knows she’ll have no time for much of a personal life for the next few years, but that’s okay—the ruined castle will take all of the love and attention she has to give. Or so she thinks…

Little does she know that a move isn’t the only big change life has in store for her and that perhaps her dreams might include more than devoting her life to a big, empty castle.

Bethany Claire is the USA Today Bestselling Author of the Scottish time travel romance novels in Morna’s Legacy Series.

Bethany’s love of storytelling has been a lifelong passion but, convinced it would serve her best to follow a “conventional” career path, she tucked that passion away and went off to college.

Fast forward four years and about six major changes later, she realized the stories simply were not going to stay tucked away. Months away from graduating with a degree in elementary education, she finally realized writing was the only career that would make her happy.

So one day in the middle of a summer education course, she got up in the middle of class and walked to the registrar’s office and withdrew from the university on the spot. Since then, she has devoted herself to writing full time and is following her dreams.

This one was a little too short for my liking! It felt like everything was crammed in and then when I reached the end I was left wanting so much more. There were so few details and everything was so rushed, it was quite disappointing! I did enjoy the story nonetheless but my rating would be much higher if the story had felt more complete!

Another A+!!

as with all the books in this series it was great fun. catching up with old friends and all that. I must say that I do adore young Cooper. he seems to be the instigator/mischief maker of most the romances in this series. I'm holding out hope when the series gets to the end, we may be blessed with a story of grown Cooper falling in love. keep in mind this is a novella and not a full fleshed novel, so it's quick. However there are tons of familiar faces, Cooper related hijinx, and lots of love in all its forms; family, friendship, etc.... This is the thing to read if you need a quick hit of happiness and laughter but not much time. I plan on re-reading the series From the start pretty soon. these cast of characters never get old in my book!

I think this could have benefited from being a full length novel. Too much of the emotional development happens for the characters during time not written in the story. (This is especially true for Kathleen)

I really wanted more development for this novella and was just left saddened by the speed with which the story played out.

Love it , love it, love it.

Every book in this series is a delight to read
There is just the right blend of history, character development, suspense and romance. This was a very quick read as it is a novella. But that did not take away from the enjoyment. Begin with the first of the series.

Love the book.

I love the way Bethany Claire tells a story. Again she manages to mix people from the past and future to create a love story that made me laugh and cry. Jeffrey the main character is a very sweet guy. He raised Cooper as if he was his son. Once Cooper and his mother went back in time, Jeffrey joined them. Now he's lonely and there isn't much opportunity for him to find love. But as faith would have it, he goes to the future with Cooper and meets Kathleen. She's everything he wants and more, but he can't expect her to give up her life and go back to his time. Kathleen falls for Jeffrey. She's heard from Jane for years how wonderful he is, but when they meet, he is not what she expected. Leave it to Morna to cast her magic spell and show these two they are destined to be together. So what if it is in the past.

I received and advance copy for an honest review. I truly loved the book. I read a lot and I don't waste time reading even a free book if I don't like the story and the characters.

I recommend you read this book and the series.

This book is part of a series by Bethany Claire. It is Jeffrey's story. Jeffrey, the life-long best friend of Grace, is not the biological dad of her son Connor, but has loved and helped raise him since birth. Grace found her soulmate in the last book in the series. Connor wants his dad to have a lady friend so he won't be lonely and restless after "moving" to live in the seventeenth century. He asks his friend, the witch Morna, to find someone for him. She does arrange for him to meet Kathleen. After a "bump in the road" Jeffrey and Kathleen become a permanent couple. This one is really a novella versus a full-length novel. As a result, the story is very fast-paced. Since Jeffrey was introduced in the last book of the series, if you read that one you already have some knowledge about his personality and background. Knowledge and insight into Kathleen is more limited due to the short scope of the story. But it is worth reading as it moves the series forward.

Jane is about to be reunited with Grace but before that can happen her and Kathleen must travel to Scotland and meet Morna. Meeting Morna is an experience for any and all who meet her! Wise person but controlling in knowledge and helping who learns what.
Jeffery has taken Cooer back to the future to meet his grandfather. While there Cooper meets Kathleen who he thinks I’d perfect for his father. He gets his Aunt Jane involved in the trying to play matchmaker! He is still wait for a letter from Morna hoping it will help as well.
Well their matchmaking efforts works to a certain extent and the fun begins. Off they travel to Scotland looking for Grace and to restore the castle Kathleen inherited. Do things go as planned well read this awesome book and learn about the past and true love!

":( IT ENDED TOO SOON!"

I listened to the book on Audible.

I didn't want the story to end... I love Cooper trying to make his dad happy with a new wife. He is totally precocious and adorable. Jeffery deserves some happiness. Completely in Love with this series. I've read all the books and now enjoying the audio version. Lily Collingwood makes the characters come to life!

This is part of the Morna's Legacy Time Travel series that I love. There are around 12 books and I love all of them that include people traveling back and forth in time in Scotland. Each book is based on a certain couple helped with love by Morna but they all intact with each other. Some are based more on people moving back in time and some move forward but they all interact together.

Great time travel romance!

In Due Time continues the saga of the Morna’s Legacy series. This installment is not as long as I would prefer (perhaps, another 300 pages😉). But, it is well written with just the right amount of magic and romance. I highly recommend the entire series. Enjoy!

Great story!

Jeffrey finds love in th 21st century....and has to find a way to make that work in the 17th century. Cue Morna and Cooper. As always, this novella gives an endearing quick glimpse into McMillan Castle's inhabitants lives.

In Due Time

A great full in between novels. It answers questions that I didn't know if the author intended to dedicate an entire novel to.
Short but sweet, read this novella to fill in some gaps.

Great Novella - 6th book in series

I’ve enjoyed this book. I’ve read each book in the series. Much of it with a screen reader, I’ll admit. I’ve enjoyed meeting new characters and following their trips through time and their romances.

Another great book; but, as others have noted in reviews could have had more details and been somewhat longer. On to the next book in the series!

It’s Jeffery’s Turn!
Characters: Jeffrey Oaks & Kathleen Carter
Setting: US, Scotland (Past/Present)
Mature Themes: Sex

Recommendation: Cooper was a highlight for me in this series, and to see him back and causing trouble again was wonderful, add in his Aunt Jane and you’ve got a novella worth reading.

Jeffrey’s done everything for Grace and Cooper, but as Cooper watches his dad struggle to find love in the past, he calls in help from everyone’s favorite witch. Morna is back at it again. Setting the right wheels in motion for her family to find the loves of their lives, and Jeffrey is no different. Kathleen has heard so much about Jeffrey and over the years her desire for the man she’s never met has only increased, but when she finally does meet him, will he be as wonderful as she’s imagined?

Thank goodness for more Cooper! I love this kid. He’s a wonderful comic relief character, tearjerker, goofball, everything. A homerun character. With this being a novella, there is a bit of instant love, but that can’t really be helped. The transitions from US to Scotland and present to past are seamless. Additional comedic relief is provided by Jane, Cooper’s Aunt and Grace’s sister, and if I had to hazard a guess, she’ll be our next novel romance.

A new castle is introduced, and even a cozy cottage that ground the story and pulls it out of the Castle for a stint.

Audiobook Review:
Lily Collingwood’s Cooper and Jane… two peas in a pod. Cooper’s child-like and adorable voice matched well with Jane’s up-to-no-good one. As usual, the recording quality was great with no hum or distortion and made the entire focus on the story.

In Due Time is Jeffrey Oakes' story. Jeffrey has stayed in the 17th century for his adopted son Cooper. For a 20th century man, finding a woman to spend his life with is difficult especially among the 17th century women who prefer the sword welding Highlanders.

When Jeffrey returned to the 20th century with Cooper to visit Cooper's grandparents and Jane Mitchell, he meets Kathleen Carter. As usual, there is a bit of decision making on Jeffrey's part of being noble. This causes friction between Jeff and Kathleen's relationship. Of course with Morn's intervention, Jeff and Kathleen do find their HEA ending.

In Due Time is a short story that is straight forward romance without villains causing the drift between characters or threatening the characters to achieve their means. What the readers might question is that since most of the characters are traveling back and forth in time, it wouldn't be much of a conflict of being separate. In due reality, when Cooper becomes a teenager, Jeffrey and Kathleen would be able to stay in the present. I'm getting a head of myself to make an assumption of a possible storyline.

The narrator, Lily Collingwood does another great performance. Instead of delivering the Scottish accent, she provide the American accent for main characters, Jeff, Cooper, Kathleen, and Jane in this story.

I was given this audiobook by the author in exchange for an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way for writing this review.

I've always enjoyed this series and was excited for this book and for Jeffery to get his happy ending. And I love, love Cooper. What a smart tenacious kid. I loved the last Novella in this series (the Christmas one) but I felt that this one overall didn't hold up quite as strong. It was a bit rushed and I felt that the end came too soon. I would have liked the time Jeffery and Cooper spent at Cooper's grandparents' home to be shorter and Ms. Claire could have then focused more time on building the relationship between Jeffery and Kathleen more. It was sweet and to the point but I didn't feel the connection really between the two main characters.
Looking forward to the next in the series since it is another full length novel.

Again, the unrealistic way four year old Cooper is portrayed in this short novella really took away alot of my enjoyment at reading Jeffrey and Kathleen's story. I don't know, maybe four year olds like him actually do exist but I kind of just would like to see him act like a four year old, not a grown man. He's a child, he shouldn't have to act like an adult just to identify with them. He's super cute and extremely loyal, qualities I hope never abandon him.

Overall this was okay. Can't say I enjoyed this as much as the other books. Jeffrey and Kathleen were a little boring. I think I just missed the Scottish accents..lol. I'm glad Jeffrey found someone though, because he sucked at charming 17th century women!
