I knew being the new girl at school would be difficult. New town, new family, new everything is overwhelming.
This is supposed to be the start of something better. My mother is finding her light again, and I’m getting the woman she was before my father died. We’ve been through a lot, things she doesn’t even know about.
Instead, Portland is finding me under the scrutiny of the Carlysle Kings, four boys who run the private school I’m attending. They fuck, ruin, and kill whoever they want without any repercussions.
And now, I’m their new bet and play toy.
This is the first book in a dark bully duet where no one is safe.
I absolutely LOVE a good bully book— and Jenn has written one of my faves (Knot my Sin.. ugh the angst was amazing!) so I was really excited for this one.
This one is DARK… i mean some of the guys—- they are absolutely 1000% not going to be able to grovel enough to get back into her good graces (OR MINE) in my opinion. I mean maybe they will.. maybe Jenn will decide she wants them to be a part of everything and they’ll be the kings (pun intended) of groveling but…whew boy. That was ROUGH.
I do absolutely love that the heroine had someone to actually by by her side and care about her while all this was going down with the boys. Otherwise I think things would have been even worse.
I enjoyed the Secret Society aspect of it as well— it managed to give a lot of depth to the characters and help the reader realize how far certain ones would go for this society. It gave us great insight into who they were as people and I just really enjoyed how Jenn wrote it and used it with her characters.
I am a LITTLE confused as to why some of the guys care so much about the Secret Society? Especially her step brother—- his dad seems like hes a total badass and could figure shit out if need be… maybe I’m just not understanding the full scope of the society and how important it is? Thats the only thing I wish I understood more in this book— so far its been a “tell and not show” when it comes to the Kings because I keep HEARING how important/big/bad the society is but it honestly feels like her step dad (for one) is wayyy more important/big/bad so why would the guys (at least the ones who are completely fucking psychos) go to him?
I dunno maybe I just need to wait for book 2 to find out😂
There 10000% IS A CLIFFHANGER and it’s a doozy. Honestly not as BAD as I think it could have been. The book could have been cut off like.. a chapter prior to when it was and that would have been even worse lol.

I absolutely love Jenn’s books even as black as her books can be, but having said that, the éxtrëme and ínténse būlľyíng from the MMCs towards the MFC was really, really hard to read!! How can anyone EVER turn their fěėlings to love after the äbūse they put her through, as well as their attempting to ūnalive her!!
This book would be a hãrd pass for me if it wasn’t for a couple of facts - one is a Jenn Bullard book 🥰, two I want to see Rachelle būrń the Kings Søcíety and its men to the grøūnd, including Jared, Elijah & Theo.
The only one I can understand his drive to finish the Søcíety’s kílľ dėadlíne is Elijah, as he déspërately wants to be away from his träffíckíng parents. HOWEVER his best friend is the Mǎfía heads son, surely he would be a better option to deal with his parents once and for all!!
There is a lot of this book that confuses me? Elijah as I said I get, but why do the others need the søcíety to gäin frẽedøm? Frẽedøm from what, their parents have money, what stopping them from doing what they want? Nacio is the son of the Mäfía head, he’s already said he’s going to lead one day, so why did he join the kings?? Was it just for friends?? And how can the Kings be more rūthľess and pøwėrful than the Mäfía??
It’s all very odd, confusing and downright annoying. Jared, Elijah & Theo and the whole King Søcíety need to be unalived, never to be apart of Rachelle life….ever!
The only one I feel rẽdeėmed himself slightly was Nacio, even after he was a big part of Rachelles bũllíng to begin with. His 180 was a bit of a shocker, but I guess when you think you’ve unalived someone you’ve got strøng feelings for by your crūėl actions, it can do that!
This was a very emotional, hard to read book, with lots of twist and turns. Ahhh and the cliffhanger is an absolute killer!!! 😡
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Rachelles mother has just remarried, into the Reyes family. She had a lot to deal with in her short 17 year old life. He father died when she was younger, which sent her mother into a bit of a spín, jumping into rẽlatiønships that weren’t good for either of them. One man in her mother’s last relationship before she married Emil, räpēd Rachelle when she was just 15yrs. Her mother cāūght the act and together they sent him to prísøn. Rachelle by all she has dealt with has a lot of träüma and tríggẽrs she continues to strũggle with, her mẽntäl hėalťh is frägíle!
Emil (Head of the Mäfía), Rachelles mother’s loving new husband, is extremely gentle towards her, calling her daughter and wanting to adøpt her. It’s all new to Rachelle, especially having her attentive and protective mother back emotionally with her.
Rachelle is loving having a father who’s tender, thoughtful and ẽxtrēmely prøtective of her and is really glad her mother is happily married. However Rachelle now has to get through going to an ẽxtrēmely posh prìvate school, hoping she’ll fit in.
Liliana is the daughter of one of Emil’s men and has been tasked with looking after Rachelle after her ẽxtrēmely bad first day at school. Liliana immediately falls for Rachelle, she beautiful, smart and sweet, and feels very protective of Rachelle. She grew up with Nacio, Jared, Theo & Elijah and know they are now Kings and what it means now they have set their sights on Rachelle. Liliana will do what ever it takes to keep her säfe.
Ignacio is Emils only son and he døesn’t like the fact his father is gūshíng over his new stepdaughter. In a jēaløus act, he set his friend’s sights on Rachelle. As Kings they need to do their plëdġe before the Kings Søciety grants them anything they wish to achieve in the future. So ‘The Kings’ set Rachelle as their plëdġe víctím.
Jared, Elijah, Theo and Nacio, who are all man ŵhøres, even with the teachers! Set about dëstrøyíng and dísmäntlíng Rachelle life, both pħysícally and mëntālly. Which the private school tůrn a blínd eye to! They say “the boy that būllíes you, is actually the boy that fäncíes you”!! Well the Kings take it to a whole new level, nearly pűshing Rachelle to unalive herself.
A few time the Kings feel it’s to much especially after discovering she was räpēd, but it still didn’t stop them, they just changed tactics. After all their plëdġe is set in stone, they must dëstrøy her before they actually ēnd her lífe to finish their plëdġe.
Nacio three quarters the way through comes to the realisation the plëdġe is totally wrong. He äccepts his love for Rachelle, so he and Liliana set about prøtëctíng Rachelle as much as they possibly can.
Unfortunately the deadline is set……..and it’s now!
I'd you've read a Jenn Bullard book you know how thick her books are. Usually it takes me a day or two to read them but when I tell you that I read this one in a couple of hours 😭😭. It was so addictive I couldn't stop reading.
I truly cannot imagine how the guys are gonna make up or do to grovel for Rachelle to forgive them😭. I just need her to be strong and not let them off the hook that easily. Make them suffer the same way they've made her suffer the entire book. I did like the fact that out of the 4 guys 3 of them stayed bullying and making her life difficult.Even though they were obsessed with her they had an endgoal wasn't gonna give up on it. The reason I love this is bc they truly are villain/ a little psycho 😭😭.
They had their reasons for doing what they did but I loveee how they stayed bad. They can get their redemption arc in the next book. You wanted a bully book and this is exactly what ur gonna get.
I ABSOLUTELY loved Liliana. From the start her and Rachelle had an instant attraction. They moved into a relationship kind of fast but once you meet someone that you click with instantly why waste time. They had really good chemistry and the connection they had can't be denied. Lili was super protective of Rachelle and would do anything for her 😩.
Ignacio definitely put her through a Rollercoaster of emotions. He definitely changed his ways when it comes to treating her and is doing anything he can to make up for his past actions. So far he's doing a good job he seems genuine but I need him to be in 100% protection mode next book😭😭. Lili, Rachelle and him have a little thing going on which I really like. He never pressured them into it snd everything between them happened slowly and when they were ready.
The parents omg😭😭😭 The only parents I liked was Lilianas, Ignacios and Rachelle. Rachelles mom definitely stepped up and was always supportive of her daughter. Loved when she went full on momma mode to protect her kid. The dad were everything. They would burn the world for their kids. I especially loved Ignacios dad (Rachellee step dad). He made her feel comfortable in his home from the beginning. He was always there to listen and doesn't hesitate to protect her or take care of whatever problem she has.
I can't even begin to guess what's gonna happen in the next book. So much could happen it's hard to even imagine. Hopefully Rachelle has a better time than she did in this one 😭😭😭.
I’m not even sure where to begin and what to say but 🤯. Rachelle & her mother, Julia, have just recently moved in with her new stepfather, Emil, & stepbrother. And welcoming her new brother and his friends are NOT. They decide to make her the target of a bet that the secret society of the Kings require them to complete before they can become members. (My personal opinion is this helps them to take out their own traumas & insecurities on the FMC to the “I think they’re insane” degree.) Take note of the TW because this is not going to be a sweet & happy ride. Despite the horrors they’re putting her through, you do see the strength and growth Rachelle goes through with the support of new girlfriend Lili, stepfather, and mother. Stepbrother, Ignacio, does start to try to be a better person, at least in private, and every now & then you think you see a glimpses of the other guys being decent people, but then they do a great job of shoving that decency down & going back to doing whatever they can to ruin Rachelle’s life. Final warning is to not toss your Kindle with yet another of Jenn’s 🤬 cliffhangers. My favorite character might be Emil. He might be a morally grey character, but you can tell he loves and adores his new wife and stepdaughter and does everything he can for them. I can’t wait for what happens next. And I can’t help but wonder if any changes of heart came too little too late.

Jenn puts us through an emotional rollercoaster ride. I felt so many emotions while reading and that ending is leaving me desperate for answers!!! I need to know what happens!!!
Omg I’m freaking screaming. This book takes you on a wild ride from start to finish!!!
You ever been on a roller coaster? I love them. I know how I feel just standing in line. My body practically vibrates with anticipation. Then I sit in the chair, the safety bar is locked and loaded. I can see the tracks ahead of me. I know there’s a drop and it’s gonna be epic but I don’t know when.
Reading through the pages of Rachelle’s story, I wait for that drop. I wait and get angry with her as she experiences some of the most horrific things. I tear up slightly as I watch the relationship develop between her and Lili and then experience the hot and cold way Ignacio, her stepbrother, treats her. I watch as it gets heated between all 3 of them. I watch, helpless, I watch as she becomes bait for the Kings’ Society. I watch as school is no longer a safe space. I question everything. I wonder if Ignacio’s friends, Jared, Theo and Elijah are even worthy to be part of her harem. I question if they’re even worthy just being alive at this point because they are not good guys. I will wait impatiently for the next book.
Unspoken Truths is book one of a duet of the Carlysle Kings. Please read the trigger warnings before diving into this book. This story is a rollercoaster of emotions. Rachelle is a new student at Carlysle Prep school. Her Mum remarried so they moved towns, new home and school. Rachelle has had a bad past and certain things trigger her off. Whilst at school she meets Liliana and they become friends and she shows her the ropes. Her mum is now married to Ignacio’s dad and he’s part of the mafia. Nacio doesn’t like this new family so he and his friends - Jared, Elijah & Theo - make a bet and they start to terrorise Rachelle. They bully and torment her. They basically make her life at school a living hell. They are the Carlysle Kings. They belong to a secret society called the Kings Society. That cliff hanger at the end OMG. I need the next book NOW!!
DNF 1%. It’s an illegible mess with garbled phrases and unexplained navigation within situations.
Her hair is pulled but then she’s eating with girls in present tense and talking about her outfit but then her feet are being forced to move across the muddy field. Is she being dragged by her braid? We can only assume.
And then a guy speaks (purrs) at the group behind her. What group? Where was she allegedly dragged?
My mind conjured a thoroughfare in the school building, but then her face is shoved into the mud by someone who calls her ‘slut muffin,’ of all things.
So I guess that was ambitious of me to assume I understood anything mentioned in this jumbled mess.
There’s no precursor to this borderline murder attempt either. That’s not bullying, man.
And the things he said were just as ridiculous as the rest of it.
For some reason, my last straw was, “When my fingers snap, you’ll ask how high you need to jump…”
The rest of the quote is about blowing him, but the bungled wording of that well known phrase was almost more offensive.
oh Jenn! you've done it again what the hell amazing the dark romance is that you rocked. I'm excited that you're running a series that's cliffhangers! keeps Us in suspense but in a good way! I know you write a lot of standalones but I'm kind of excited for you to be stepping a little bit out of your comfort zone 💜 I LOVED THIS! GIVE ME THE DARKNESS!!
This book was beautiful, tragic and absolutely amazing. The struggles our main characters have to face are beyond belief, the strength and resilience is inspiring. Our main female characters is being thrown into a completely different world to what she is used to and she is not welcome here, with an enemy determined to hate the very idea of her, she needs to find a way to survive, it’s sink or swim, fight or flight, her or them, deciding not to play is not an option, the game has started and the odds are very much stacked against her.
This book touches on a LOT of hard topics, make sure to check the trigger warnings and be prepared to cry, laugh and rage at the beautiful horrors that this book displays. Also, this is part of a duet and will have a BIG cliffhanger.
I don’t tend to read bully romances but this one… I could not put it down. The emotions the characters are experiencing are written in such a truthful manner that it’s hard not to relate and feel for the characters. One scene you’re hating one person only for the next, you’re crying, understanding why they’re as jaded as they are, you can’t excuse the behaviour but you understand why they do what they do.
Being capable of writing such a complex set of characters is truly astounding, it’s a gift. This is not the first book I’ve read from Jenn Bullard and I can promise you, it won’t be the last. I will be counting down the days for the part two to be released.
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a dark romance, who isn’t scared of things getting a bit twisted, for anyone who isn’t afraid of the emotions that can emerge from the bad.. and the good. I will leave you with this, one of the quotes that has stuck with me after reading this book, it’s beautiful and tragic but also so incredibly real.
“I live for her happiness, even when mine feels a little out of reach. There are moments where I feel it, but my brain enjoys lying to me, so it never seems to last.”
Far fetched, inconsistent story, lots of whip lash!
My first time reading this author, I almost stopped after a few chapters. The story has good bones but is not executed well. I often kept wondering if it was written by a high school student by the immature ideals in this story. The whole book is based on a "bet" where the boys must kill someone by senior year to meet secret society rules in order for them to be free of working in their parents illegal businesses, nothing said how it the society would prevent that. The boys are 17 yr olds who murder, torture and sleep with teachers. They hurt other kids at 5 and had their first kill by 6th grade. The boys say they draw the line at rape but yet basically discuss how they have "forced" sexual acts on people.
In the beginning it was said the bet was to fuck, ruin or torture someone by senior year but half way it became about killing her, so confusing. Her step father was aware of this bet and yet acted like it wasn't a big deal for the first half while claiming how much he adores his step daughter, the Mom wasn't much better. They would talk grimly about her being killed and bullied then get light hearted about it like it was an empty threat or boys being boys, it gave me whip lash!
There's very little spice. This book should be in a college setting not high school. The authors main focus seemed to be the FMC's past trauma and dealing with it instead of the quality of the storyline itself. Wayyyyy too much discussing in her mental health. So so many things that were oddly juvenile and conflicting. I won't be reading book 2.
From start to finish, this book had me for a lack of a better term, clutching my pearls in anticipation of what was going to happen next. One thing that Jenn Bullard does so well is not only develop her worlds so you feel that you are sitting front row in them watching all of the drama and action unfold, but she develops her characters in such a way that you feel like you have known them all alone all while learning about them for the first time. Rachelle quickly became one of my overall favorite female main characters right from the beginning- her strength was something I envy and the force of that strength is nothing something I have really found in a whole lot of stories I have read and I loved her relationship with Lili right from the beginning, despite the fact that Rachelle had a lot to do in terms of healing to be able to trust anyone. I loved Emil right from the beginning and I just knew that his bond with Rachalle and how he was going to be absolutely no nonsense when it came to Nacio was going to be so fun to read. Nacio may be growing on me (and if I am being honest, I knew from the beginning there was always going to be something I liked about him no matter how dark this story went), but the jury is still out on Jared, Elijah and Theo. There is a lot of ground that they have to make up and the doozy of a cliffhanger at the end makes me glad I don’t have to wait long for the next part of their story.
Please be advised: When the title includes the words "bully romance" and Jenn Bullard is involved, know that she ABSOLUTELY MEANS IT. My god. Make sure you check the trigger warnings, as I'm sure there is quite a list. This book was a bit difficult for me because of the bullying, and ONLY because of the bullying. Jenn is a phenomenal writer and storyteller, and part of that is because she makes you feel everything the characters feel. The guys really do a number on the FMC, Rachelle. Ignacio, Jared, and Elijah... just...ugh. I don't want to give anything away, so I won't say any specific names, but two of them 100% are not redeemable in my eyes. I will not forgive them, even if the FMC forgives them in the next book. Because we all know that Jenn loves to torment us, this book ends on one hell of a cliffhanger. I will tell you that Emil is my favorite character in the whole book. I love him. He's mine. You can't have him, so hands off. As usual, Jenn completely destroyed me.. and here I am crawling back and begging for her to do it again with the next book. I can't wait to see what she does to us, I mean the characters, next.
This book had me hooked from the start—it was seriously hard to put down. If you're into dark bully romance with reverse harem and some f/f elements, this one checks all the boxes. It’s intense, emotionally heavy at times, and full of twisted power dynamics that keep you on edge. Definitely check the trigger warnings, though—it’s not for the faint of heart, but totally worth it if you like darker reads.
The main character is thrown into a world where four dangerous boys—the Carlysle Kings—rule the school with no consequences. Watching her stand up to them (and sometimes fall for them) was wild and so addictive. The chemistry, the secrets, the mind games... all of it worked. And that cliffhanger?? I’m still reeling. I need book two ASAP.
Highly recommend for fans of intense, gritty romance with a dark twist and complicated, messy relationships that blur all the lines.
Oh my god yes I am no stranger to Jenn’s books and this one once again held me captive from page one to the end of the book. I was completely hooked and didn’t want it to end but sadly it had too. Me, I absolutely LOVE a good bully book— and oh Jenn has written some of my absolute faves (Knot my Sin.. ugh the angst was amazing!) so I was extremly excited for this one. This one is DARK… i mean some of the guys—- they are absolutely 1000% not going to be able to grovel enough to get back into her good graces (OR MINE FOR THAT FACT) just stating my opinion. I mean maybe they will who really knows at this point.. maybe who we ask nicely Jenn will decide she wants them to be a part of everything and they’ll be the kings (pun definitely intended) of groveling but…whew boy. That was definitely ROUGH. Can’t wait to read more from this amazing author and please be sure to check your trigger warnings
Unspoken Truths is the first in a dark bully duet.
That ending!!!!! What is going on???? I need the next one stat.
There were a number of characters you will loathe by the end of this one...Theo anyone???? Then there are characters which start out bad but end up being endearing and caring characters.
Rachelle goes through a lot of torture through this one. She already has a tragic past and then the society decides she needed to be the target for their goal. Like she went through enough, she didn't need more added onto it.
I really liked seeing the family dynamic and how caring her step dad was towards her. He really did try to make things easier for her, but there were just some things he couldn't do. I do think as the mafia boss he should be able to do something...maybe in the next book.
Unspoken Truths is the first book in The Carlysle Kings duet by Jenn Bullard. This book was an absolute emotional rollercoaster and I am still sitting here trying to process that cliffhanger. Bullard has left us hanging with this one!
I really liked Rachelle and my heart broke for her in this book. She has been through so much and this book just continues to dish it out to her. I loved Liliana and the strength she tries to help Rachelle find. Liliana is just one of those characters, you love and just want to be friends with. This book also focuses on Nacio, Elijah, Jared and Theo. These guys are not good guys and honestly, I am not sure that they are redeemable but I guess we will see in part two.
Be sure to check the trigger warnings because this book has quite a few dark elements. It will keep you on the edge of your seat and then leave you begging for part 2!
girlie's would u mind playing that viral meme song that goes like "fuck this shit I'm out" pls? I would do so myself but I'm too busy screaming into my pillow and debating if it would be satisfactory enough to punch my wall. DNF. this was despicable. I hate it so much. this was just romanticised abuse. I'm so fucking livid when I even think of this book. I'm done. it is horrific. I don't know what page or percent I got to bc I was reading this on a website but I got to chapter 20. I never count my dnfs to my reading goal but I'm feeling sorry for myself and - quite frankly I believe I should be awarded a trophie for making it this far - I think I deserve to add it after the horrors I was put through. it was disastrous. I'm sorry, if u like this book, it's nothing personal and no hate to the author bc God knows I couldn't write a book...although I'm not sure this author can either. (ok jk,jk I'm sorry) but yea I just can't get over how they abused her and it's seen as if it's fine. like u can't romanticise that shit. bc they are immature little boys who "just don't know how to express their feelings so they do this" we should feel sorry for them? like sis u fr??? that shit doesn't fly with me. honestly I can't express how much I hate this book. fucking go out with the gf and tell those little pricks to go fuck themselves darling. arghhhh. hate. hate. hate. hate. hate. hate. double hate. LOATHE entirely.
The thing about b*lly romance is that they actually have to bully the fmc. A lot of authors do this by having the MMC(s) outsource this pretty heavily through “mean girls”. That gets old to read after a while and in this book while there is a little bit of that most of it is done by the four MMCs. I mean the levels of disgust that I felt just kept building and building. I love the found family and how strong Rachelle is. Also Lilliana and her unwavering loyalty toward Rachelle is one of the best parts of the story. I am anxiously waiting for book 2. It has been a while since I have read a 5 star b*lly romance because they have all been blurring together with the themes all seemingly the same. This was a nice change of pace and definitely worth the brutal cliffhanger.
Holy hellonwheels. Check those triggers cause she's a dark girl. One of the things I love most about Jenn's books is that she makes you fall in love with her characters she wants you to love. She makes you want to strangle her characters that are/become the villians. I absolutely cannot wait to see how she's going to make me love some of these guys in the next book. Jenn has done a bang up job of making me hate them.
Rachelle is one amazing MC, who's strong af. No matter what those silly boys try to throw at her. I doubt I could of held up half as well as she does.
Amazing book, not a dull moment to be had. Excellent job on torturing us with that cliffhanger, I never doubted the Tiny Pixie's evil genius for a minute. If I had doubts she'd probably make it worse.
This was an absolutely amazing read! Rachelle gave me all the feels, and I felt so bad for her with her past. Liliana immediately captured my interest, and I love how perfect she is for Rachelle, and her thing for sharp objects was hawt! Liliana is just the perfect one, and I love how she accepts whatever Rachelle will want to do, with adding guys to the relationship, or just being them. She is my favorite character, but Emil is a close second! Emil treats Rachelle like the daughter he always wanted, and better than most bio dad's do! The moment in the tower, Whew! Never knew what was coming next but it was an amazing ride! Ends on an epic cliffhanger, and CANNOT wait to see what comes next!
Oops! Jenn Did It Again! 🎶She ripped out my heart! She played a cruel game! 🎶 LOL! But, seriously…my heart was ripped out because of this book! But only in the best way that Jenn Bullard can!!
Unspoken Truths was one heck of a dark bully RH romance! This is one of my all-time favorite tropes so I was SO excited to read this, and it definitely did NOT disappoint! Part one of a duet that now I am absolutely impatiently thirsting for!
HEAVY bullying, why choose, stepbrother, mafioso vibes, high school and the most ruthless, savage cliffhanger I think I have seen in a long time (maybe ever).
If you don’t read this book, you WILL regret it! It is THAT good. Now, I’m off to watch some cute kitten videos as a palette cleanser… 😉
A stunning, dark bully, story that had me gripped throughout. Rachelle suffers so horribly at the school, being tormented by the Kings who become more horiible after learning about her traumatic past. I loved Liliana and the way she cared for Rachelle as their relationship grows so beautifully. Ignacio, Jared, Theo and Elijah were so unpleasant but Ingacio slowly learns how wrong it is and becomes closer to the girls and so protective. The spicy scenes were very sensual and beautiful and there were plenty of darker moments. I just loved Emil, Rachelle's stepfather. He was incredibly caring towards Rachelle. The cliffhanger was shocking and hopefully the guys can be redeemed. Can't wait to read the next book.
This is the first book in The Carlysle Kings duet. I love Jenn Bullard books! I am always excited to delve into the Jenn-verse whenever I can. Okay…I need a moment to gather my thoughts! What?! I’m not crying…you’re crying!! This book was such an emotional roller coaster. I felt like I was on top of the loop just waiting for that fall to go over the edge. Only; it wasn’t a fall! I was thrown over kicking and screaming!! And now I’m at the top again and waiting on a razor’s edge because of the cliffie!! Thank you, Jenn Bullard, for another traumatic, emotional and sexy read. You have me addicted to your books and I was happy to see a certain band make an appearance! Another winning read and I can’t wait for the last book in this duet to be released!
These boys.. ugh I hate them but love them at the same time! I honestly don’t even know what to say about this book other than hold on tight! When Jenn decided to write a bully romance she did not hold back with the insults, the humiliation. You will want to scream and probably throw a fist at one of these boys. The only good thing to come out of this is Rachelle and Liliana. I don’t want to spoil anything so I’ll keep it at that. Just be prepared for a roller coaster of emotions where you’ll bite your lip in anticipation, but also hold on to your seat in desperation of wanting to know what happens next. Don’t let the cute guys fool you. They are savages with so much to lose. These are their, Unspoken Truths.
I stayed up way late into the early morning to keep reading.
This was such an emotional book. Rachelle has honestly been handed a crap hand from the beginning of the book. I loved watching her grow into who she is being more confident and trusting with others. Lili is amazing, she’s such a great support person for Rachelle. But in all honestly I loved Emil. He was such an amazing part of the story and his love for his newly added family made this book so worth it. The support he gave and him acceptance was honestly a huge plus for this book. While the guys are all experiencing their own reasons for bulling Rachelle it is hard to read. Make sure you know your triggers. But it is such a great story.
This book is horribly written, 500 pages of it too. DNFd twice halfway through then skimmed just to finish it so I can leave this review. Don’t waste your time the book is choppy, written like a child wrote it. Nothing at all about this book is realistic or relatable. By that I mean, the characters are so poorly written you can’t relate to them. It felt rushed by the behaviors in the book. 1 minute she meets a girl and the girl is already in love with her in the next couple pages. Then the MMC ( Step brother) hates her literally 1 chapter and the next he’s catching feelings but there’s nothing in between for you to understand why his thoughts have changed. It’s all vague.
"Unspoken Truths" is a rollercoaster of emotions that leaves you with a jaw-dropping ending! Jenn's writing is addictive, and I was completely invested in Rachelle's harrowing experience at the hands of truly terrible bullies, so much so that I was up half the night finishing it!! I could not put it down! I adored Lili's fierce and protective nature over Rachelle and watching Nacio's struggle and evolution were compelling. Your heart will burst with unexpected relationships that emerged, they were incredibly sweet (you'll know the scenes!😉). That final twist has me in shock and desperately questioning if these men can ever find redemption.
