NEED YOU NOW: A Story of Hope is the deeply personal, incredibly honest, and hugely encouraging new book by recording artist, songwriter, and performer PLUMB aka Tiffany Lee. Equal parts revealing memoir and inspirational literature, each chapter reveals a day in the life of a rock star, inviting you into Plumb's personal journey of embracing her life's passion of music and her very real, all-encompassing love for her family and community. Both laugh-out-loud funny and deeply moving, Need You Now is the story of beautiful and embarrassing moments on stage, the joys and trials of motherhood and unbridled forgiveness. It is the story of soul mates, best friends and a marriage redeemed. And more than anything, Need You Now is the story of love, fresh starts and the relentless message that no matter who you are or what you have done...there is always HOPE.
Recording artist, songwriter, performer, and now author Plumb has sold more than three million albums and singles worldwide, co-penned songs for numerous other artists, and established herself as a respected artist in genres as varied as Christian, pop, and EDM music. She is the proud mother of three and lives just outside of Nashville, Tennessee, with her husband, Jeremy.
Christian music artist, Plumb (AKA Tiffany), tells us that her book, Need You Now, is a story of hope, and it is. Her memoir is a quick and easy read with stories from her childhood, her rise in Christian music, her love story, her marriage struggles and how God restored her marriage. She’s totally real, totally vulnerable and totally honest. I loved hearing her heart about sharing her music and her love for Jesus and her family.
I particularly loved how she trusts God with the future. She tends to look at life events as: Well, if that works out–awesome! If it doesn’t, on to something new. It’s a perspective that breathes hope into every part of her story.
She also reminds me of God’s sovereignty. There’s no need to try to push and shove, fight and claw your way to the top of any mountain or the forefront of anyone’s attention. She just did her thing. She sang as a kid in churches. When presented with the next opportunity, she just gave it her best. God opened every door. He directed her path and the people she needed to meet. Even in the hard things and the ‘setbacks,’ God was at work growing her as an artist and helping her love Him above all else.
Those interested in Plumb as a musician will love getting to know her better. Couples looking for hope in broken marriages will be blessed and encouraged and young moms overwhelmed by diaper changing duty will find a friend!
I received this book free from the publisher. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own. I bought this book when I saw Plumb in concert at Young Christian's Weekend in Silver Dollar City. God knew I would need to hear her story in the months to come. Just how Tiffany had to let go of her husband to bring healing, I have had to let go of the two people closest to me. I see God bring healing to my life just as He did Tiffany.
I was also challenged to not let the pain that is currently in my life to restrain me from becoming what God has in store for me.
Even though Tiffany and I definitely have different stories, I was able to relate to her, and she really encouraged me. Thank you, Tiffany, for being so open and sharing your story with us. God definitely has used you in my life.
Besides the 7ish grammatical errors I found that made me wince, I enjoyed learning about Plumb (one of my favorite singer's) life. What drew me to this book were her authentic songs that speak to my soul - I had to know the stories behind them. So many things she wrote about sounded a lot like me - from her goofy but real personality to her purposeful goals and way to think about the world to her super chic movie and song choices...even her name! :)) Although I can't completely relate to many things she went through with her friends, career, kids, and marriage (it definitely had a different beginning and middle than mine), I think her story speaks to the fact there's always hope. Or at least I hope so - one way or the other! Even if your life doesn't go the way you thought or planned, God can give peace.
This book was wonderful. The chapters were short, which I like. Fast paced, elegant prose, and of course Jesus and his undying love woven throughout. I cried tears of joy and conviction and elation at the end. There is always hope.
This book came into my life at a most opportune time. Plumb's music has been encouraging on the radio, so I looked in the library to see what they had. They also had this wonderful book by her. I was challenged, encouraged, blessed, and given a dose of Hope. It was definitely one of the best books that I've read so far this year. I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading books that sound like the author is sitting down with you over a cup of coffee or tea, sharing their heart, telling it like it really, truly is. Worth every moment of your time!
I have been listening to Plumb for a couple years, stumbled across her book titles a few months ago. Family got me both books for my birthday this year. Just finished this story of hope.
I am a BIG reader who regularly reads 5 or more titles at one time, therefore takes long time to finish any one title. I finished this one in two weeks. Would have to make myself stop reading to get to work on time.
This book was recommended and is a good story of hope and personal growth. I'm not really into adult bathroom humor and not that interested in the music industry either. I wasn't looking for a tell all with her marriage issues but it seems there was a lot left out. Anyway, I like some of her songs and am glad to hear the story of God working in her life.
Tiffany's real, raw writing had me in tears a few times. Her words are simple, but impactful. Typically I have a hard time reading books like this, they're... boring or drawn out, but this one caught me in its whirlwind of emotions and I finished it in 2 days. I'm giving it four stars because because there's a few things I didn't agree with theologically, but her message of hope is powerful!
I loved this book, thought it gives a good picture of what marriage is, it’s not perfect and it’s not easy we all have struggles and we all need forgiveness and to give it
Thank you, Tiffany/Plumb. I needed this word so very much. God is using you, my Precious Sister Friend. Thank you for your transparency, your truth. May God continue to bless you. ♡♡♡♡♡
I have been listening to Plumb for years. Her songs from her heart have touched my heart and life and now so has her story. I highly recommend her story of hope.
Good autobiography, given I have read only a handful in my lifetime. Gets a little too wordy at times and loses her storyline, but it's usually interesting.
I didn't know anything about Plumb until my friend told me a little bit about her story. It was interesting to read about the life of Tiffany Lee (aka Plumb), her faith and her career in the music industry. I appreciated her honesty about her struggles, particularly challenges she experienced in her marriage. She gives a message of hope that she learned through personal experience. I love the ending of this book!
I loved this book. I have always been a fan of Tiffany's music (Plumb) and just like the music she writes her book is open, honest, discussing her life truths. Brutally honest and filled with hope it's a love story that brings tears to your eyes. I now feel like I'm best friends with Tiffany and we've never even met.
This book did not really grab my attention until the last few chapters. Although I appreciate Tiffany telling her story, I thought the book was slow and I could not identify with any of her experiences. However, reading about how she realized she was making her husband an idol of worship over the Lord and how God healed her marriage made it worthwhile.
I read this book in one night when I just couldn't sleep. In so many of the pages, I felt like Tiffany was taking the words out of my mouth of what I have either felt or experienced. She is relatable, honest, funny, and above all, she gives all of the glory to the Author of her life. I needed to hear this story. It was just the encouragement I needed.
Heard Plumb testimony on radio and made me want to read her story. I found my self in some of the same situations and I could relate with her. Very good book to help you if you find yourself in the same crisis of marriage and know you're not alone. There is hope.
I love the message of hope. I pray that God continues to work on my husband and myself and that we may both see what his plan is for us. Let Him work on and through us both.
Plumb tells an honest and emotional story of her life in and out of the music industry. Her love of God shows through each chapter and can inspire the reader in so many ways.
I love Plumb's music. It is very inspiring. It did not surprise me that Plumb's book was just as inspiring. I could not put it down. Just remember there is always hope!
Loved it! Lots of humor, very serious topics. I like how she starts each chapter in the present the ties that into her past and the topic of the chapter.
