Jill comes from a large family with six siblings, including an identical twin. She was raised in the Pacific Northwest and later relocated to Colorado for college and a successful IT career before discovering her talent for writing sweet and sexy page-turners. After Colorado, she decided to move south, living in Texas and now making her home along the Emerald Coast of Florida. You will find that the settings of several of her series are inspired by her time spent living in these areas. She has two sons and off-set the testosterone in her house by adopting three furry little ladies that provide her company while she’s locked in her writing cave. She enjoys heading to the beach, hiking, swimming, wine-tasting, and pickleball with her husband, and of course writing. If you have read any of her books, you may also notice that there is a love of food, especially sweets! She has been blamed for a few added pounds by her assistant, editor, and fans… donuts or pie anyone?
I was given this in exchange for my honest opinion. Ok, not gonna lie, my stomach dropped when I seen That sweet little Holly was paired with Travis. So far every Travis experience has been disastrous. And then he disappeared. Now that he's back, can he drop his old bad boy ways?
Ugh this one was so good! I'm glad Travis got his act together and finally made a new plan in life. All the drama in this book was so much, it made up for the one before. Can't wait to read the next one and see Ryan's story!
We met Travis in Alex’s story, Taming Alex. He was her on again, off again boyfriend, the town bad boy whose parents always bailed him out of everything that he was accused of. He left shortly after his mother shot Grant, Alex’s fiancé, and never looked back. He got himself cleaned up and swore that he would never be that man again. Now four years later, his mother is in a mental institution and his father has passed away He’s determined that he is going to sell of his father’s assets and leave Fairplay for good but his father had other plans. The stipulation in his will states that Travis must finish the projects that he started otherwise he will be left with nothing. This wasn’t in Travis’ plans but he jumps in and starts helping because the sooner that the projects are completed, the sooner he can leave. He hadn’t counted on the feisty little redhead that has one hell of a right hook though.
Another great book by Jill Sanders! I wasn’t a fan of Travis before but I had a feeling that he had a good heart but had a lot of growing up to do. After all when you have a mom that believes that you can do no wrong even though you have proven time and time again that you need discipline, things are bound to go wrong. I really liked Travis in this book though. Sober Travis is a lot more appealing than drunk, stoned Travis. As for Holly, well she won my heart when she broke Savannah’s nose in Missy’s Moment. You can’t help but love anyone that puts that woman in her place. I can’t wait to read Roping Ryan which will be coming out soon.
Please note that each of these books can be read as a standalone but since it is a series about a small town, it’s so much more enjoyable you start at the beginning. The first book of the series is Loving Lauren and is only $2.99 on Amazon.
Such a good story about learning to let go of the past and finding love. Travis comes back to town after his father's death and is forced to stay, at least until all the projects started by his father are finished. He doesn't like being back and makes that well known. Holly is surprised to see Travis again, but knows why he has returned. When she realizes he will be staying awhile AND managing his father's projects, she is thrown for a loop. They are both pulled to each other and fighting their attraction is a losing battle. Soon they develop a relationship, but will it last? As soon as the projects are done, Travis plans to leave. Holly knows the score, but that doesn't stop her heart from falling for him.
I loved the story and how Travis had to conquer his demons before he could move forward. Holly was always there to support him, even if he didn't want it. I loved seeing their relationship grow and Travis turn from someone shadowed by his past and turn into a great man. I really enjoyed it and can't wait to read the next one.
Travis Nolan left Fairplay the same evening his mother was arrested for attempted murder against Grant Holton, the former's ex-fiance boyfriend at the time now Travis he back in town after his father's dead to get money to repay his "agent" in Las Vegas. But little did Travis know that things wouldn't be that easy especially when his father made sure that Travis would stay in Fairplay and finished what the former mayor started.
Holly Bridles is a real spitfire, she has a vision regarding her bookstore and was happy when the former mayor was on board in expanding her business but when the latter's dead, the former is left to deal with Fairplay's once bad boy Travis Nolan....There's an attraction between the little spitefire and the "former" bad boy which neither one couldn't deny.
Travis had a chance of heart and decided to stay in Fairplay with the woman who fought for him and believed in him like his father did....Holly and Travis found love.
Breaking Travis is the fifth book in the West series and everything you expect it to be. Jill does not disappoint with this story of Travis and Holly. Holly's bookstore is under construction and one day while she is showing Travis's father around discussing the changes she is making he suddenly dies. Travis returns to town for the reading of his father's will and isn't happy at all with the stipulations put in it. Travis was always the bad boy and Holly was bookworm so it great to see the chemistry between these two opposites when they get together.
I can't wait to read the next book in this series about Ryan, Reece's twin brother.
***I received an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for my honest review***
Travis was a bit of a wild teen, then his mum has a breakdown and shoots a man.. Travis leaves and vows never to return, heading to Vegas, he ends up underground cage fighting.. His father then dies, taking him back to his hometown to deal with his father's will. Only to find that even in death, his father can still control him, keeping him there.. He heads back to his apartment, only to find a very sexy woman living there.. Holly wants to has Travis, but soon finds out that her heart doesn't work that way.. Travis and Holly are the perfect couple, even if they don't see it.. I was rooting for them the whole book!!
Ok so after meeting Travis in previous books, I thought he was a major ass! But...after reading this book I love Travis! He turned himself around & became a great guy. Holly is an awesome character, loved her!
Loved how the bad boys from the previous book Missy Moments ended up being the good guy. Great book. Loved the suspense in Vegas and how it was handled. Looking forward to Ryan's story and what he has been doing.
If you want a quick read this is the book for you, there are minor things the need to fallow up with the other books on the this series I enjoyed the story and want the next book.
Considering what we knew about Travis from the previous books, I wasn't sure what to expect from this book or from Travis, but it was surprisingly good. This is a fast read that could stand alone, but the changes in Travis will be more impressive if you have read the first three books in this series.
There was some drama in this book, of course, but the crux of the story was Travis coming back and showing people that he had made something of himself. I didn't really expect to like Travis, and I was horrified at the idea of him with sweet, emotionally-but-not-physically vulnerable Holly, but after the first few chapters where he was a swaggering jerk, he really came around and I found myself rooting for their happily ever after. I wish that there had been more non-sexual interaction between Holly and Travis before the trip to Vegas because it felt like they went from having sex to Holly falling in insta-love with Travis despite the fact that they hardly spoke about anything. I would have loved a couple of deep heart-to-hearts between them, but we never really got that.
The biggest disappointment for me was that I was hoping for Travis-Alex and Travis-Haley apology scenes, and we didn't get either of them. Yes, he had changed his life completely, but his actions warranted deep apologies to both sisters – not for his mother's actions, but for his own. It was a little to neat-and-tidy that he just slipped back into town and everyone welcomed him without him even attempting apologies.
Considering where Travis was the last time we read about him, this book did a good job redeeming him, and I will definitely re-read this one in the future.
Travis Nolan had always been the bad boy in town. Since his mother had been locked up for attempted murder, he had disappeared and left his father, the then much loved mayor behind. Roy Nolan decided that now he was retired he was going to make it up to the town by trying to get some of the old buildings that were damaged during the tornado restored, starting with Holly's bookstore. What hadn't been figured into the equation was that Roy would suddenly die and leave Travis in charge of finishing the projects.
Holly is forced to have Travis making decisions about her home and business that she might not agree with, and she's not happy. However, Travis seems to have changed, but is it just a front?
Holly and Travis' story is of how if someone is given a second chance they might prove themselves. Some good laughs, drama and of course a happy ending.
This is a tough one as the MCs are both a bit unlikable to me. The H is coming off of a lifetime of entitlement rebelling and the h is overly aggressive much of the time. As most of Jill's novels ho, redemption is earned.
Brief Summary: No need to expand on the author's summary.
The love story of Travis Nolan and Holly. Travis' father has die and he return to Fairplay, Texas. He is change man. He stop drinking, smoking, and using drugs. For the pass four years in was doing cage fighting. Savannah is pregnant and she telling everyone she is having Travis' baby. Holly is getting her dream, her bookstore is being updated and she is falling in love. Will she find happiness or will Savannah ruined her dreams? Great story.
She's independent, sexy and a really good person. He was the town's bad boy who has returned after his father's death. They are drawn together out of necessity, but his past interferes. Lots of hot sex, some humor, a tiny bit of danger, and falling in love 💘. Highly recommend.
Another wonderful series by Jill ! I love the way Jill brings family and small towns together. I have read several other series by this same author and can't say enough good things. Beautifully Written !
Thought you were going to let me down Jill. I thought I was finally going to dislike one of your books and I wasn't looking forward to that. Oh "YE o' little faith" how wrong was I! I should have known better, you never let me down. I am so glad I put aside my feelings for Travis because I LOATHED him and didn't want to hear anything about him...and I read this book. I would have missed out on a really great story and a really wonderful read. Thank you for writing this story! Thank you for letting me get to know Travis. I still don't love him but I like him enough and I love his girl ;). and I LOVE this story!
Wow! What another great read from Jill. Dam you Jill I’m crying here and tried very hard not to like Travis but dam again. Holly and Travis's story is just as sweet with sadness and tears, also laughter and wow who’d of thought. Before Travis's dad died he had one last request for Travis to do was to finished the last of his projects before he can get his inheritance that also the made him and holly spend time together and they become closer but his past keeps getting in his way can he get through this you have to read this to find out is such a beautiful story even had me crying lol can’t wait to read more from this series
Another great addition to the West series. Good girl Holly and bad boy Travis end up together. This book is very well written. The characters are well developed and easy to love. It has everything I'm looking for in a book. I highly recommend this and all of Jill's books.
I love a bad boy that's turned around. I like how Travis "grew up" and even though I was surprised for him to be matched with Holly at first I soon changed my mind. They make a great couple. Another great story in this series.
