Caught between a rock and hard place, Roxy Thorne is in a bind. Wounded and broken, she struggles to pick the pieces of her heart back up. With help from Dylan, she searches for her strength. After all, Dylan's been her lifeline, her rebound, through her darkest times.
But Kade Thomas is the man who showed her the true meaning of love--even with all its despair, vulnerability, and pain. He holds her heart in the palm of his hand. But two men, two journeys, bring her to two very different roads in life. But which path will bring her to her happily ever after?
The Author of seven full length novels and one novella, genres range from contemporary romance, Romantic Suspense to Dark Romance. Aleya was Born and raised in Sydney, Australia, she is in her thirties and happily married with three gorgeous boys. A lover of reading, hanging out at the beach, playing netball, shopping and listening to music, which she adds into her writing frequently. Aleya’s main thrill when writing is introducing her readers to new and exciting characters that you will either love, or love to hate.
This follow up book Healing My Heart in the My Heart series by Aleya Michelle picks up straight from where Breaking My Heart left off with Roxy trying to put her life back together after Kade's unexplainable departure. She is strong, independent and feisty but still needs closure after that loss of her other half, she finds herself 'healing' with her new boyfriend Dylan's help, but is he really all he makes out to be? He left me unsettled, unnerved and blatantly open mouthed at times with his words and behaviour, I for one was cheering when Roxy decided to fix his ways once and for all after her spirits dampened in his presence. As last time, Aleya gives the reader dual points of view from Kade and Roxy, so to see how Kade was feeling after his families breakdown, the devastation of not having Roxy and then his determination to fix his life was insightful and I adore his surfer outlook on life.
Without spoiling your read I will say Dylan helps Roxy heal her heart, but will this help come at the ultimate price.... His isn't one to let go of anything he considers his easily and with shocking truths, actions and revelations at the end will Roxy ever have a heart that's whole again??
***** I was lucky enough to beta read this book ****
For this review, I chose Healing My Heart by Aleya Michelle, which is my first book by this author. This is Book #2 in the My Heart series. It is also a stand alone book. Book #1 is Breaking My Heart. Book #3 is Forever in My Heart. I received a copy of the ebook for a honest review of this book.
At first, I could not get into this book. I am not sure why, but after I read about 3 chapters, I finally got into the book. I do believe that Roxy should be with Kade. Yes, he made a mistake, but he is not like Dylan, who to me is unstable. I was not sure what Dylan was going to do. It kept me on the edge of my seat. This book to be is about second chances and following your heart. Everyone deserves a second chance.
I do recommend this book. I love the conflict that this book has- Will Roxy forgive Kade for leaving him? What is wrong with Dylan. ☆☆☆☆ I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. Would I recommend this book? Yes! Author? Yes! Would I read more from this author? Yes!
I was privileged again to be a Beta reader for book 2 Healing my heart, i loved booked 1 Breaking my heart, and Healing my heart flowed nicely on. She starts a new relationship that i just wanted to say to her, what are you thinking girlfriend!!!!!, i was hanging out ever chapter for her to find her true sole mate again ,Kade. and when she does get her man , get ready for some hot make up sex, anywhere they can. ( keep your man or the Vibrator close you might just need them) love this time was in more then just Roxy's POV, gets into everyones head. it ended with me needing book 3 ASAP. I wanted to slap Kade for being so romantic and leaving me hanging for more well done Aleya Michelle for another awesome book
Healing My Heart is the second book in Aleya Michelle's My Heart series and should only be read after you have read Breaking My Heart. Healing My Heart is the continuing story of Roxy and Kade and picks up where Breaking My Heart left off. I will admit that I really struggled with the first book in this series. I had a lot of problems with it, and I wasn't sure if I would continue with the series or not. But when I had the opportunity to read and review this one, I knew I wanted to continue the series to see what would happen for Roxy and Kade.
After having her heart broken by the love of her life, Roxy tries to pick up the pieces of her life and move forward. She is seeing Dylan and although she doesn't love him, he has helped her get through her darkest time. But Dylan starts to change and soon he is no longer the sweet boyfriend that she has come to know and care about and he is becoming controlling and possessive. Roxy begins to feel as though something is off with Dylan and she wonders if she really knows him as well as she thinks she does. When she runs across Kade while out with friends, her feelings resurface for him and she knows that she needs to make a choice in her life. When Roxy breaks things off with Dylan, he doesn't take the news well and is determined to do anything to get her back. With Kade in the picture again, Dylan is determined to see to it that if he can't have Roxy no one else will either.
I knew Dylan was crazy from the start. I didn't like him, and something about him just felt off for me. He was possessive and controlling, and far too clingy. I realize that Roxy had found some relief from her pain in him and that she had grown to care for him, but I didn't understand why it took her so long to see that she shouldn't be with him. Roxy and Kade were much better this time around for me. I liked them both more, and Kade seemed to get over his random personality shift from the first book. He was back to being the guy that we first met and fell in love with, and he seemed to be genuine in his feelings for Roxy. He was really sincere when apologizing to her and telling her that he would earn her trust back in the future. I felt like Roxy was better in this book with the exception of her delaying the inevitable with Dylan. She was forgiving with Kade and she really faced her feelings for him. She was able to see how much she loved him and that even though she was hurt, that they deserved to take another shot at something between them. Kade and Roxy are really hot together, and I loved getting to see them working things out. Kade and Roxy made each other happy, and I think that they fit together in a way that they don't with anyone else.
Overall, I am glad that I decided to continue this series. I think that Kade and Roxy have come a long way in their relationship and as individuals. I will say that this book felt a bit drawn out until Kade showed up, and I found it hard to really get into up until that point. There were also some inconsistencies that really drove me nuts. They were small details, but I thought that they really distracted from the story for me. In one scene Kade and Roxy had been apart for 6 months, and yet in the next it was 4 months. It flipped back and forth several times, and I never was sure which was actually correct. There was also another example where a lime from one scene turned into a lemon in another. It was just little stuff like that that shouldn't have been more than a small detail among many, but because of the mistakes were made glaringly obvious. I also felt like the age of these characters was really ambiguous and confusing at times. It was stated that Dylan was a student of a high school in an article only 8 months old, and yet it is also mentioned that he had a job and one of his friends that they hang out with was from university. The timeline was confusing, and I couldn't tell what was correct and what was a mistake. Clearly if he was in high school only eight months prior, then he was either the smartest and fastest student ever to complete university or there was an error. I know that these type of mistakes aren't the whole story, but when there are that many they add up quickly and become a huge distraction from what is actually going on. I am curious to see what happens in the next story though. I felt like this story had a pretty clear ending, so I am wondering what Aleya Michelle has in store for these characters next.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Aleya Michelle's dedication has me in tears, being able to identify with her, having lost my own mum. Her words stir up an emotional tsunami.
Having read 'Breaking my Heart', I couldn't wait to get my hands on 'Healing my Heart'. Aleya was such a tease, she gave us a little taste of what's to come at the end of book #1.
Kade just up and left Roxy, to say she was shattered is an understatement! Dylan was sort of a rebound fling, but it became more. He helped her through a dark and really painful time in her life. But, there's something off with this guy. He's just to sweet, smothering, and attentive. He also becomes possessive, jealous, and irrational at times. I think a new potential stalker, and he hasn't exactly played open cards with Roxy. My alarm bells are ringing.
I think Roxy stays with Dylan out of guilt, but that's just nonsense! I say ditch the creep and fight for Kade.
Jemma's dress up and disco party has me wanting to shake my booty, and that thought alone is frightening considering I have no rhythm and 2 left feet! Trust Dylan to come and put a damper on the party, what a douche drip! On the flip side, his dark side is revealed ........
Kade and Roxy can't deny their chemistry, passion, and intensity. Will they get the chance to clear the air? Will Roxy get answers to her questions?
Finally, Roxy gathers the nerve to break up with Dylan, and I'm so proud of her, that she's walking away. There really is just something unnerving about Dylan, and judging by his reaction to the break up, I have every reason to feel a little edgy. I don't think we've seen the last of Dylan.
Kade's training but his mind is with Roxy, and I just wish he'd suck it up and sort things out ...Uhg! It's so frustrating watching from the sidelines!
Roxy, girl, I could just kick your ass! What are thinking? You're playing with fire, and for your sake, I hope you don't get burnt!
Kade finally gets the chance to redeem himself and explain things to Roxy ..
Someone from Dylan's past comes to see Roxy, my blood just chills. Her visit confirms my suspicions that I had all along and at this point I'm scared for Roxy.....
Damn it Roxy! I told you you were playing with fire and look at the fine mess you've gone and got yourself into now!!!!! Lucky for us you have a knight in shining armour <3
Kade and Roxy are in Hawaii for the Pro tour. The vibe from the crowd is infectious, and you can feel the sun and smell the ocean! I must be honest, the waves seem scary, but I suppose to a surfer it's wave heaven. The tournament ends well for Kade .
Roxy and Kade end their visit to Hawaii with a soul baring balloon ride. Yet again, Aleya Michelle is kind enough to tease us with a sneak peek at "Forever Heart"!
Healing my Heart is the second book in the My Heart series written by Aleya Michelle. This book starts off with Roxy dating a man named Dylan. At first, Dylan is great, he is kind to Roxy, treats her right, and most importantly makes her feel safe. But Dylan isn't Kade and even though Roxy has feelings for Dylan and wants to be happy with just him, the feelings she carries for Kade are strong. Also the longer Roxy stays with Dylan the more red flags she sees that something isn't right with their relationship, or Dylan, so she decides to break things off with him. But just because she is ready to end their relationship doesn't mean that he feels the same way. In the meantime Roxy runs into Kade again and all the old feelings some back for both of them. But there are so many questions that remain between them. Will Dylan be able to let go of Roxy? Will Kade be able to deal with the issues he has from his mom leaving his dad? Will Roxy be able to forgive Kade for breaking her heart when he left? And will Kade be able to protect Roxy when she needs him most? Michelle did an amazing job on this book. I think I actually enjoyed it more than the first one. I loved to drama and suspense that Dylan brought. He was so unpredictable and willing to do anything for Roxy that you were kept guessing as to what he would do next, it added a real suspense to what I was reading. Kade as always, was the type of guy that you can't help but love. He knows that he messed up with Roxy and he is willing to do anything to win her back, and I love his protective need to keep her safe from her crazy ex-boyfriend. I would have to say this book is a must read for anyone that read the first one, or anyone that enjoys a romance with a twist! I can't wait to see what Michelle comes up with next for Roxy and Kade.
Healing my Heart by Aleya Michelle sort waves of turmoil and recovery after the stunning first book in the series Breaking my Heart. Picking up several months after the events of the cliffhanger that left us all wondering what’s next, Roxy has moved on, breathing, living and cherishing a new relationship and moving forward from Kade. That doesn’t last for long however, because as all good romances ensue the passion and the ripple effect of a stamped heart of true love can’t be so erased easily.
I absolutely loved reading Healing my Heart, as mystery and recovery of the heart mesh to create a solid fast-paced narrative. I was blown away but how the networking and character dual perspective all came together and left me breathless and full of love at the end. Kade & Roxy are HOT.. Like Smoking, put the flames out HOT!
“I’ve dreamt of the moment, when the one who held my heart captive in his high tower would return to me like a knight in shining armour.”
It was breathtaking and beautiful to see Aleya create a dual perspective narrative that dealt compassionately with a variety of different issues and the obstacles of finding where your true heart lies. It isn’t without it’s obstacles however as Roxy dates Dylan for part of the narrative, but something is off-putting and she doesn’t fully fall for the relationship like her bond and romance she had with Kade.
The safety of Roxy is Kade’s main concern as we reel and deal with the bond the creation of chemistry between Kade and Roxy that undoubtedly hasn’t fizzled out in time. Aleya did a magnificent job with the intensity of the romance, the emotion recoiling a broken heart being mending and I definitely recommend reading Healing my Heart, but be sure to read Breaking my Heart first.
I am devastated with Kade , yes I am never going to be ok with him being a runner !! Now we have Roxy struggling without Kade but trying to make a go of a relationship with Dylan. I am not sure I like Dylan. He seems ok , ya hes hot , ya they have good sex at times , ok he is loving and sweet....BUT HE IS NOT KADE !!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone seems to be settling down , getting married , getting serious etc etc. Roxy is doing a whole lot of faking in this story with Dylan. Kade has been gone for 6 months and out of the blue he texts....then they have a run in....then they have a moment !!!!!! Could this be what I have been waiting for !!!!!!! Roxy has been with Dylan almost the whole time Kade has been gone. She hardly knows much about him and the little things she is finding out are not good. He is possessive , abusive , scary and something from his past is about to haunt them but what the heck is it ??
Kade is still struggling with his family issues. Although he and his dad have become super close he is missing his life and of course Roxy. Kade's dad is sick of hiding out from his problems and when he decides to face them and come home he and Kade start working on getting their lives back !!
Roxy has a choice to make stay with Dylan and continue to fake it so she can feel safe from his issues or say goodbye and forgive Kade and trust in him and their love again ??
Once she makes her choice this story is just so full of love and happiness !! The sex scenes are great , the happiness is wonderful. I can feel the joy and pain of these characters and I love it !! Will there be more to the happily ever after ?? If not can there be ?? PLEASEEEEEEEEEE
Healing my Heart is book #2 in the My Heart Series.
Because I was gifted both books 1&2 in the series I’ve gone straight from the first book to the second so here goes....
Healing my Heart picks up a couple of months after the end of the first book.
Kade is a proper idiot!!!
I mean seriously he needs someone to just slap him round the head and shout ‘idiot’ at him!!
I feel so sorry for Roxy she gets her heart broken and then she ends up with Dylan the psycho!!
I do love a good psycho and Dylan is as mad as a box of frog’s lol!!!
Personally I think that Kade really didn’t have to work hard enough to get back into Roxy’s good graces. She should definitely have made him work abit harder for it in my opinion!!
This book really highlights Roxy and Jemma's relationship and I really loved the camaraderie and banter between them.
This book seemed much shorter than the first book, I’m not sure if it was but the author feels like she found her stride with this second book. Every page felt conversational and easy to read.
Roxy and Kade fell straight back into the easy connection they shared from the first book and the sex was smoking hot!
There’s a third book and I think that may be something to do with the blonde in the crowd but I’m hoping that ultimately Roxy and Kade get their happily ever after.
I have enjoyed this series so far and I loved the added drama and tension that this book brought so this gets 4 stars from me!
Healing My Heart is book 2 in the My Heart series and picks up where Breaking My Heart left off. After the devastating heartbreak in book 1, Roxy has moved on and is now in a relationship with Dylan. Dylan is sweet, caring, makes her happy and gives her the sense of security and stability that she needs. Her heart may not be in it but Dylan spoiles her and has helped her when she needed it most to get over Kade. When Dylan starts to change, becoming controlling and possessive, Roxy realizes that he's not really the man that she knew. His clingy behavior and declarations of love start to scare her and she decides to end things with him...a little too late after the psycho shows his true colors. In the meantime, she runs into Kade again and the sizzling chemistry that they have always had is still there. These two can't keep their hands off each other and I loved the connection they still had. Roxy and Kade decide to give their relationship another chance and after some drama and near tragic events, they are able to admit to each other that the love they shared has always been there and will never end.
Overall, I enjoyed this story and look forward to seeing what's next for Kade and Roxy. I do think that these two need to work on their communication because secrets, lies and omissions always seem to come back up with them later. The editing was much better this time compared to book 1 but still had me itching to pick up my red pen a lot. Good story!
Before i start on my review can i say that this author shows genuine promise but right now i think possibly stripping these stories back and rewriting might be a good option. There’s too many mistakes too mention, its very confusing in places (who is talking etc) and just odd. Starting off with book 1 Roxy is a hardcore party girl and by this book she is doing everything to keep Dylan happy ? too short a time frame for this in my opinion. Some things just seemed to have been brushed under the carpet like the Facebook stalking and was Dylan the local burglar ? he said he stole for her and was out that night she came down but nothing is mentioned again. Where was the big discussion when Kade and Roxy got back together ? his 30 second i’m sorry speech just didn't seem realistic to me. and why wasn't a big deal made out of the girls throwing a bottle at roxy ? why is no big deal made of the attack on Kades ute ?
The book starts where book 1 ended Kade has upped and left, Roxy is seeing Dylan and things seem to be going well until Dylans control freak side shows up and Roxy does some googling and Dylan might not be all he seems. More and more of Dylan’s crazy starts to show and Roxy forgives him time and time again but then she tries to end it and Kade reappears and they decide to make a go of it the rest of the story is them trying to find their happy ever after but will Dylan let them. THREE STARS
Healing My Heart picks up exactly where Breaking My Heart leaves off. It’s been months, and Kade and Roxy haven’t spoken. He needs to focus on his career as a pro surfer and Roxy needs to focus on getting herself together and moving on with her life. She meets Dylan, who seems to be everything she needs. He’s fresh out of an engagement himself, so they seem perfect for each other; they can help each other heal. But there’s something about Dylan Roxy just can put her finger on. Something is off. It seems like little things at first, but they soon blossom into huge problems.
Kade knows that Roxy has moved on and is in a relationship with Dylan. While he understands that he hurt her, and her needing to move on, it still hurts like hell. But he knows something is off. He can tell when he sees her – she’s not happy. She’s not safe. Will Kade be able to look after Roxy’s safety while still trying to take his career to the next level? You're just going to have to read to find out.
I really liked this book, even better than I liked book one. I was happy, I was sad, outraged and there are some really steamy scenes. Overall, I would totally recommend this book, and I can’t wait to see what book three has in store. If you liked book 1, you will definitely like this one.
An ARC copy was provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.
This is Even Better.. I mean, I've read the first book, Breaking My Heart which actually broke some fragments of my delicate heart because of the stupid things that Kade has done. Although I got angry at him in the first book, I understood his reasons for leaving Roxy.
But in Healing My Heart, I am flummoxed, perplexed & disgusted with rebound guy Dylan, because of how he treated Roxy. He was clearly a bipolar with a twisted mind reeking of jealousy & obsession. He became controlling and manipulative and almost got physical with her. He got lucky Roxy endured him for 6 months. When Roxy has had enough of his ever-changing personality, she gave him the boot but Dylan became even angrier. He vowed to destroy her and Kade, who seemed to be putting himself back together to be with Roxy again. Dylan is ready to explode, Dylan will do whatever it takes to get her back.
And there's Kade. Kade also wants Roxy back, Kade still loves her, but can Kade heal her already broken heart?
A rollercoaster of emotions, that's what I felt after reading this book. I liked how things went from right to wrong to worse to being right and sweet again. But for how long, I guess we'll have to watch out for the third book in the series because I still have this giddy feeling about Roxy & Kade. Another sure-fire hit from Aleya Michelle!
The next step in the story of Kade and Roxy told from their dual perspective. It has been months sense Kade broke her heart and Roxy is picking up the pieces and trying to move on with her life. Dylan has been instrumental in her healing process but he is becoming more and more obsessive. Kade has never stopped thinking of Roxy and how he broke her heart. He knows he messed up and will do anything to make her believe in him again. For a squeal, it was well thought out and presented in a fashion that keeps you wondering what will happen next. The characters have grown since book one, they sometimes still act as adolescents but have still matured. I love the close friendships between the characters and the friendly sarcastic banter is very entertaining. Most sequels lose something when the story continues and your interest seems to wane. I am happy to say this was not the case and you will be expertly drawn into the drama and lose yourself in the story. Even though this seems to be ending in a Happily ever after feel, the author has left some open ended incidents that I think will become highly interesting in the next chapter of Kade and Roxy's story.
second book in the series again beautiful, sad loving heart breaking. Now that Kade has left Roxy heartbroken she has gone and trying to move on with Dylan who had his heart broken about 8months ago, but how and what really happend.
Roxy is not over kade she still loves him and hopes that maybe if at all possible he will come back, problem start out wiht dylan being over protective wanting to know where she is at all times why she wont return his calls. Roxy really wants to end it but how can she when he has been there for her when Kade has'nt.
Than one night out, and her past comes back in Kade has never stopped loving Roxy how can he prove to her after he broke her heart that he his back for good and they are meant to be.
You have to read to see if she let's him back into her heart, and what is it with Dylan? he is acting scary and strange. It's beautiful, sad, sweet, loving and just so good i really could'nt put it down and now cant wait to see what happens next. GO READ SEE IF ROXY AND KADE GET THERE HEALING HEART'S
Healing my Heart starts off not long after where Breaking my Heart ends with Roxy seeing Dylan. You can see instantly that while she's seemingly happy with Dylan she still isn't over Kade as she keeps telling herself she is. When Dylan's behavior starts to become questionable and then a little scary the storyline takes a turn which I really didn't envisage happening. Kade is still dealing with his personal issues but thinks about Roxy and the way he broke her heart and left her. It isn't until a chance encounter that Kade and Roxy meet up again and things become even more complicated with Dylan. The two however can not deny their feelings for each other. Aleya certainly created a wide range of emotions throughout the story. The characters displayed so many different sides from being scary, loving, immature, crazy and passionate, which gave the story many different layers. Congrats Aleya on the continuation of Kade and Roxy's story. I can't wait to read more of Aleya's books in the future.
~~I received this in exchange for an honest review~~
This is the second book in the series. It picks up where it left off. Roxy is now with Dylan. He has healed her heart from the heartbreak from Kade. However, Roxy starts to notice things about Dylan that she has never noticed before. Just little thing, but soon they start to become huge problems.
Kade can't get Roxy off of his mind. But he needs to concentrate because of the pro surf contest in Hawaii that is coming up. He doesn't like the way he left Roxy, broken and sad. But he was trying to protect her from his family problems. He never expects to see her at a dance club one night. But, can he stay away from her? Or can he be her saving grace?
This was a roller coaster of emotions. I was happy, pissed off, sad, upset, scared etc... There were times that I wanted to scream at the book "run away", and other times I was smiling because it was a happy moment. I love this book! I can't wait to read more from Aleya!!
I have absolutely loved picking up Roxy and Kade's story from the end of Breaking My Heart.
We find Roxy six months down the line and in a relationship with Dylan who is slowly helping her to mend her heart from the disastrous ditching she was left with after Kade left.
This book sees Roxy fighting to carry on and keeping herself above water after having her heart broken by Kade. I warmed to her much more in this book and you can tell that she is still totally in love with Kade but totally lost as to why he just left her. Dylan has done a lot for her confidence and although he initially seems to be the perfect boyfriend, he really started to creep me out as the book progressed!
I've also loved the multiple perspectives too and Kade is still as dreamy as ever and m heart actually went out to him even though he had been the one to end it all.
I won't spoil the ending but this book has a great dollop of romance mixed with some total nail biting moments too. I absolutely loved it!
Healing my Heart is book 2 in the Heart Series and is a continuation of where Breaking my Heart ended. After seeing the growth and potential in the author as book 1 progressed, I knew book 2 would be much better and I am not disappointed.
After Kade breaks her heart, Roxy is left to pick up the pieces and move forward in life. She meets Dylan and they hit it off. Dylan was great with Roxy in the beginning, helped her heal, and was an all-around great guy/boyfriend. After a few months, the real Dylan begins to show. He becomes controlling and possessive with mood swings galore. On top of the issues with Dylan and realizing her heart is not with him, she is dealing with her unresolved feelings for Kade, which were brought forefront when he sent her a text on Valentine’s Day.
Book 2 is full of twists and turns, suspense, humor, and of course, great sex scenes that keep you turning each page, anxious to see what is going to happen next. I’m curious to see where Aleya will take us in book 3 as I felt book 2 gave us our HEA.
This book follows on from Breaking my Heart in which Kade leaves Roxy devastated when he breaks up with her and leaves town, refusing to even talk or reply to texts!
After a few months Roxy moves on and meets Dylan, he helps her in her bid to forget about Kade and she enjoys his company and the time they spend together, but after a while things dont seem to add up. Dylan get's possessive and jealous and Roxy feels like something is wrong. Then on Valentines Day everything changes for Roxy and she is thrown back into her past! Unsure of what to do she buries her head in the sand and concentrates on trying to make things right with Dylan.
I really enjoyed this book and read it in a day, I think it the story line followed perfectly and was surprised a few times and cringing at others! I LOVED the ending and it was exactly what I wanted for Roxy but I cant help but feel as though it might not be as good as it seems, is there a sting in the tail coming........... Eeeekkkkkkk!
OMG I didn't see that one coming after the cliff hanger that was left in book 1 that Kade has finished with Roxy with no explaination except for he wants to break up Roxy is in a downward spiral until she meets Dylan who has also recently separated from his fiancé after she cheat on him. With Roxy in a new relationship she isn't 100% in to she keeps thinking about Kade and how much she misses him, Dylan has a controlling temper on him and starts to suffocate Roxy turning up out of the blue and constantly checking her phone. Roxy bumps into Kade one night when she is out clubbing with Jemma and they spark is reunited but with Dylan on the scene things aren't going to be easy with secrets/lies and heart ache.
I cant wait for book 3 in this series not left on a cliffhanger but wanting more
I love this Australian surf romance series! Aleya's writing really impressed me further in this book, it seemed to really mature along with her characters Kade & Roxy. Their time spent apart was the best thing for them, the timeline of events and they way they unfolded were realistic but not all smooth sailing.
Even though they missed each other deeply, it was great to see them continue to go about their lives. Kade with his surfing and Roxy with her design work, and even dating. Her choice of men was a little off but it added some interesting storyline. I was worried that Roxy may fall back into her old habits and nasty ways but she held it all together until they found their way back to each other.
This was another enjoyable read and has me really looking forward to the next chapter of Kade & Roxy's story.
Healing My Heart continues on Roxy and Kades story. Months that've pasted and Roxy is moving on with someone else, but deep down she is still thing of Kade.
Things start to get to intense for Roxy with her new man Dylan and things aren't feeling right, a chance meeting at a night club brings Kade back into the picture and even Roxy knows that he was what she wants.
I found this book to be a little to drawn out. The story line really didn't pick up untilKade came back into the picture. Than wow it became hot, steam and really thrilling.
Not only did the Roxy and Kade story come to life but also the fact Dylan was a crazy man determine to keep Roxy for himself.
I could only give this 4 stars, I wasn't really drawn to this as I was to the first book.
After being devastated by Kade in book 1 of this series, Roxy has finally found her feet again with her new boyfriend Dylan and her life is travelling on as planned and she is only thinking about Kade on occasion now instead of it taking over her life.
But I’ve got to say, Roxy’s new boyfriend Dylan gives me the creeps and I spent a fair bit of the book hoping Roxy would kick him to the curb. Dylan is alternatively loving, controlling, dominant and generous and it is interesting reading the way Roxy deals with this relationship.
I won’t give anything away, but those waiting for a happy ending will enjoy this book a whole lot more than the first one!
I was given a complimentary copy in exchange for an honest review. Reviewed by Diana.
I was very angry at Kade in Breaking my Heart... and was cheering for Dylan actually. Then, I started this book and thought that Roxy was overreacting about Dylan actions, I mean, who doesn't like attention and gifts from her boyfriend? But Roxy was still very in love with Kade and no way her relationship with Dylan was moving on. Kade appear in perfect timing, and as usual, brought out all the love for her... they are really a sweet couple and the way everything happened made this book even more enjoyable! Loved the various POV, always a great thing for me. The sex scenes are hot and very erotic and the way the book ends makes me want more!!!
This was a great continuation of book one. Roxy is now with Dylan after being left broken hearted by Kade. Roxy has not really ever gotten over Kade and her heart is just not in the relationship with Dylan. Which is probably good considering he is a bit on the psycho side. Kade knows that leaving Roxy wasn't for the best, although it took a bit to realize it. It left him broken too. These two happen to see each other again and the sparks are still there, but with Dylan in the picture, Roxy has major guilt about breaking it off with Dylan. When Dylan really goes off the deep end, can Kade get to Roxy in time? I recommend this series! ~Chell
Wow!! I completely loved book one, but this book is definitely my favorite. This book picks up were book one left off, so will need to read book one. Roxy hasn’t heard from Kade in months, so she is thinking maybe it is time to move on and forget Kade. She meets Dylan who just got out of an engagement. This book is done in Kade and Roxy POV, so when Kade finds out that she has moved on he is hurt. Meanwhile Roxy notices things about Dylan. Things that will make you hate Dylan. All I want is for Kade and Roxy to get back together. Do they? This series is a must read. Aleya’s books will have you on the edge of your seat and you will want more. A Must read.
This is book two in this series. Roxy tried to move on after Kade and started dating a guy named Dylan. He seemed to have it all. He was good looking, charming, romantic and good to her. But he is no Kade. After some time spent with Dylan she starts to question some of his behavior and starts to re-think their relationship. After running into Kade unexpectedly there was no denying that the feelings are still there for both of them. To what lengths Dylan will go to keep Roxy and what will happen with Roxy and Kade and their undeniable attraction to each other. I loved this story, it was full of suspense and surprises. I really loved it and is my favorite in this series. Highly recommended.
This book was by far better than the first. I was able to get into the characters more and the flow and writing style was improved! This was a great conclusion to the story. For a while I hated what Kade did to Roxie. He broke her and Dylan put her back together. I am so glad Kade comes back. He is the guy for Roxie. Dylan is crazy! Hes possessive and crazy. i dont know how Roxie put up with that.
I am so glad i read this book. It was well written and not as confusing with who was talking this time.
