Uprooted

I started this for the sci-fi rom-com vibes and was SO PLEASANTLY surprised by so many things!
Women in STEM! Fated Mates! Aliens and Humans! Forced Proximity! Yessss to all of it!!
Aro and Elowen are very much opposites, but it works for them. I loved their banter and the way their slow burn caught flame. It wasn’t an “insta love” with no plot.
Elowen is a workaholic, determined to save Earth with her pollination and food crops research, Aro is not so serious, a bit impulsive, and has it BADDD for Elowen… some great banter, some spicy noodles (and scenes 😉).
And you know book 2 Tai and Bri is 🔥

This was an interesting and enjoyable sci-fi romance book. I’m newer to the sci-fi genre so this was a refreshing addition to have in combination with a romance story. I loved getting to know the main characters Elowen and Aro and getting both of their points of view.
I really liked the world that the author created as well as her easy to read writing style. The short chapters made this a breeze to get through.
This one was a bit outside of my comfort zone, but I did really like it. If you enjoy sci-fi and alien romance definitely consider giving this one a read.

I was sent this as an ARC and I loved it! Fated mates? Yes. Cozy? Yes. Women in STEM? Yes. This was a refreshing read and I can’t wait to see where this series goes! Blue alien men are simply the standard at this point. The banter was lovely and the story felt original. Read Uprooted!

I did not do much preparing when I began this book. I was offered an ARC and because the book was already on my TBR (of which there are far too many books anyway and I rarely remember why I add a book), I happily accepted. I don't think I was fully prepared for how good this was for what I assumed I was getting into.
Uprooted is a cozy alien romance that doesn't dwell overly on the differences between the characters in terms of species, and more so focuses on the differences in their actual personalities and how they move about in the world (whatever world that may actually be.) It's certainly a refreshing take on the alien/sci-fi romance aspect because we aren't given a character that's at a disadvantage in terms of knowledge. Both Elowen and Aro are capable and evolved. There isn't a caveman aspect that Elowen feels compelled to "teach" Aro how to be a more sentient being. In fact, other than Aro being close to 7 feet tall (this is mentioned briefly and then is not really mentioned again, for anyone opposed to big guy x smol girl trope) and blue, his other species alien-ness is not really a thing. Aro comes across like any big, golden retriever guy that has a crush on the smart workaholic girl.
The dynamic between Elowen and Aro was very sweet. Nothing felt rushed between the two of them and it was clearly a relationship on equal standing. They worked well together. Elowen helped Aro to control his impulsivity (somewhat) and Aro pushed Elowen to loosen up and accept just being happy.
The plot outside of the relationship building was a bit vague. We know that Elowen and several other humans are going to j'Tilak to research how to fix and reverse multiple problems stemming from a climate crisis. WE aren't given a timeline for how dire the problem is, how soon would the change be irreversible even with help. We just know that it's serious and Elowen is determined to be the one to solve the problem. That leads to the only issue I, personally, had with the book. And this is simply an issue on my part. There was a lot of science speak in this. It was not persistent and it did not overshadow the relationship building or the story really at any point. But I don't understand plants and so when things come to a head and a lot of botany and genetic jargon is used, I was completely lost. I didn't hate it. I just made me feel dumber than I like.
Overall, this was a fantastic read especially from a debut author. The writing was done very well. The pacing was immaculate. Everything about this felt cozy and light (even with the background plot and threats). If you're just getting into alien romances, this would be the perfect place to start. If you're looking for a chill little romance but want something a little more than just a standard cozy contemporary, this is the place to start. I'm am excitedly looking forward to the next book in this series. Kennedy Rhodes has blown my expectations away.

Elowen expects to put her head down and focus in the lab when she arrives on j'Tilak. After all, she's got her work cut out for her. Humans have trashed Earth (shocking, I know), and require the results of her research to help pollinate essential food crops.
What she doesn't expect is a big blue distraction in the form of the very tempting Aro.
Aro, on the other hand, probably can't remember the last time he took anything too seriously. That is, until he met Elowen. Boy has it bad 😂 and she's going to make him work for it.
So, now it's up to Aro to convince Elowen that he's not just a distraction through a combination of spicy noods and spicy nudes. If he keeps at it long enough, he might just be able to persuade his hard-working scientist that she has feelings for him too, despite her best efforts to pretend otherwise.
I recommend Uprooted for anyone looking for a sweet and spicy scifi romance with loveable MCs and a hilariously fun cast of side-characters.

“The fuse was lit the moment I saw you, and it’s been heading straight towards my destruction,”
This was honestly such a cute and cozy little read with a splash of danger and adventure. I immediately loved the FMC. I will say it always, we LOVE a woman in STEM. Elowen is shy, a bit introverted, and all her focus is on her work and research. Aro is arrogant but funny and definitely hides his softness.
Earth is falling apart and Elowen and her team are tasked to find a solution. With the new found treaty, they travel to j’Tilak to conduct their research. She had one goal, and that didn’t include the sexy, ripped Aro. Aro slowly pulls at the seams of her heart and shows her there’s more to life than following all the rules and hiding away in a research lab. She doesn’t expect to fall for this fling that’s going to end when she goes home.
Elowen and Aro are perfect. I giggled, I kicked my feet, I cringed a little, and there was some satisfying spice. I loved the yearning and playful banter. I also thoroughly fell for the side characters. Bri and Tai 👀 I’m looking at you two.
Following Uprooted is Untangled, releasing May 19th and will follow Bri and Tai’s journey coming back to j’Tilak.

This alien romance was such a fun and cozy read! And it was a super quick read under 300 pages. There was a lot to love in this one - sci-fi romcom, fated mates, women in STEM, aliens, he falls first, banter, found family, dual POV, a mission to save earth, opposites attract, and so much more!
Our FMC Elowen is a botanist trying to help save Earth from its pollinator crisis, and she’s picked to travel to j’Tilak for research. She’s not looking for any distractions on this trip, but that’s exactly what she finds when she gets to the planet.
Our MMC Aro is a security captain who’s a bit spontaneous and isn’t afraid to break the rules. He’s big, he’s blue, and he’s absolutely a distraction.
The chemistry between these two was instant, and I adored their banter. They were total opposites, but they complimented each other well.
The plot was well done, and I enjoyed the world building. I also enjoyed the bit of action we got towards the end, and I loved that Elowen was the one to save the day.
If you’re looking to dip your toe into alien romances, this cozy alien romance is a great place to start! 🚀💕✨

You get a sweet and hot love story, that's what happens.
This was my first sci-fi romance, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. We have Elowen, our FMC, who's been studying and preparing to follow in her dad's footsteps. She's a scientist who's been chosen to be one of the first group of humans to j'Tilak to research their planet's plants and possibly come up with a solution to Earth's dying crops. Elowen is all business and has no intentions of being distracted.
That is until she crosses paths with Aro, our hot and sometimes cocky MMC. Aro is a top security officer for j'Tilak from a noble family. Aro isn't a fan of rules and isn't looking forward to taking over for his dad once he steps down. Aro has fallen for Elowen since he first laid eyes on her, and is determined to pursue her.
The dynamics between the two are cute and loving. The way Aro is so caring with Elowen and doesn't push her is so sweet. It gets spicy between the two, but the whole story doesn't revolve around that. It was just the right amount of spice for me.
If you're looking for a cute and funny romance, then this is the book for you. The best part is that Kennedy has another book coming out on 5/19 that follows some of the other characters from Uprooted.

I really enjoyed this cozy, adventurous, cute, and funny sci-fi romcom! Before reading this and Untangled (out May 19th), I hadn’t really read anything in this genre. I’m so glad I gave it a shot. It was a great time. I really connected with the characters and became emotionally invested. It’s very well written and flows right into the next book, Untangled. Definitely recommend!
Follow Elowen & Aro’s unpredictable love story in the midst of several action packed situations…like critical research to save earth that turns into a fight to save themselves and the planet they’re on! You get to know other important characters like Bri and Tai. While the story is lighthearted and fun, it also explores deeper concepts to get you thinking - like human nature, true connection, diversity, acceptance and of course love. Love being the root that grows and strengthens, bridges gaps, and conquers obstacles. It’s just an overall great read.
I cannot wait for more! I’m interested to see how Elowen, Aro, Bri, & Tai’s adventures continue!!!

I don't read a lot of alien romance, but this made me want to dive into it. This was so cute and fun. I loved the back and forth quippy banter between Elowen and Aro. The mixed up human sayings and the sassiness made me giggle. I also really loved how tender and caring Aro is with Elowen. The balance between the two is perfect.
I also love love love the world building here. When the story is told through Elowen's perspective, as a botanist, she is focused on the plants. The floral life on this planet is crazy beautiful. Through Kennedy's descriptions, I feel like I could reach out and touch some of these flowers. I absolutely would love to visit a planet like j’Tilak.
I'm excited to read the next book and see what more I can learn about this world. I hope we get to see more of her friend Bri. That girl is a fierce friend and deserves some love of her own.

This is a fun alien romance, told in dual point of view. Perfect if you’re looking for a science-fiction rom-com.
Earth has created a treaty with nearby planet j’Tilak. Earth will provide military support and in return j’Tilak has agreed to allow a team of scientists to visit their planet to carry out vital research. There is a major threat of global famine on Earth and this is their last chance to solve the pollinator crisis.
Our FMC, Elowen, is an intelligent scientist, specialising in botany. She’s dedicated to her mission and hesitant to fall for military Captain Aro. However, he falls first, he’s intriguing, confident and can’t resist her.
With an interesting range of supporting characters, this was a fun easy read. I would have preferred a little more backstory and more details but otherwise it was a good read.
Overall, this was 3.5⭐️

Who knew I could be so into a COZY ALIEN ROMANCE?!? Guys this book was the cutest little sci-fi rom com ever! It gave me Avatar(beautiful blue aliens) and Star Trek vibes.
Our MMC, Aro, is sexy and confident with a one track mind for the FMC, Elowen. She is a cute little scientist with a one track mind towards work. Her bestie(Bri) and Aro help bring her out of her shell and it just keeps getting better from there.
You've got a hot MMC, feisty best friend, cute and intelligent FMC, what more could you want?! If you do want more, you'll get it because Bri's story is coming next!

The story was so well done, the writing phenomenal, and the characters were so dreamy! This was exactly what my heart needed.
This really pulled me in and wouldn’t let me go. I could have read it in one day, but life happens. I loved the world. It was unique and so interesting! I loved Aro from the beginning. Elowen is my new favorite FMC. She’s so cool! If I have another daughter, her name might just be Elowen. I love that name.
I am SO EXCITED for book 2!!!!! I screamed!!! I was 80% in and told my friend, oh I really hope she makes this a series!!

Admittedly, this is NOT my wheelhouse lol , I am a huge Sci Fi reader , or was, I have been leaning Fantasy.... but a Sci -Fi Romance is definitely a first for me. I read this in preparation for an ARC of Untangled, and I am glad I got the ARC and jumped into this
Rhodes has an easy writing style, if you are new to the genre / etc, I think this will still be enjoyable for you.

I loved this sci-fi romance book! The author did an excellent job with the world building and I felt like I was on the planet j’Tilak with the characters. I enjoyed following the main characters Elowen and Aro in this story and seeing how their relationship developed over the course of the book. I also really liked the side characters, especially Bri. This book had me smiling quite a bit throughout the story and this is one that I recommend picking up if you are looking for a romance that takes place on another planet. Overall this was a great debut novel and I look forward to reading future books by this author.

I had the honour of reading this book as an ARC, and I enjoyed every minute of it! I loved the way the MCs fit each other perfectly - they were relatable and real. I really enjoyed the worldbuilding, Kennedy's world is one I'd gladly hop on a spaceship to go and visit. I also had a constant craving for noodles throughout the book. You'll know why when you read the book :)

I typically don't go for books with aliens as the main characters, but I'm so glad I gave this one a chance! I really wish we could give half stars, cause I would really give this one 4.5 stars. I applied for the ARC of the second book thinking that it sounded like a fun time and grabbed this one to prepare. And after reading it, I can definitely say that I had a blast!
Set in the future, where humans have destroyed Earth enough that there is a crop emergency, a group of scientists venture to an alien planet to study the plants in the hopes that they can find a solution. One of those scientists is Elowen, an ambitious botanist who is determined to do her part to solve the food crisis. What she doesn't expect is to be distracted by Aro, the gorgeous blue alien commander.
I absolutely loved this book! Like I said, I'm typically not a fan of aliens, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The main differences between the two species is that the aliens are super tall and have blue skin. There are also minor superficial differences, but the author made the species pretty similar, which is great for those a little hesitant to read an alien romance. And while this is a story of working together with different species, there isn't really a learning curve to understanding each other. I liked that she wasn't having to make him more civilized and that everyone was pretty evolved.
Elowen and Aro are the perfect match. She is the bookish scientist and he is the battle-ready captain. They are complete opposites but they balance each other so well. I loved that Aro was so willing to ignore the rules in order to pursue her. He was such a green flag, golden retriever MMC and I loved him. The banter between the two had me laughing almost the entire time! I also really enjoyed the side characters and can't wait to read more about Bri and Tai.
Uprooted was a quick read for me as well. The plot was fast-paced and kept me entertained. I did get a little tired of Aro breaking the rules for Elowen so many times, especially when he should have known that what they were doing was really dangerous. I know he was doing it to show her how much he cares for her, but it did get a little repetitive by the end. However, since it was such a quick read, it didn't take too much away from the story and it moved on soon after to the next thing.
With the feel of Star Wars/Star Trek mixed with Avatar, Uprooted is a space rom com that definitely delivers! It is the perfect intro into the alien romance genre, or just a fun read for those looking for something fresh and exciting. This is definitely one that I would recommend!

Thank you very much to author Kennedy Rhodes and Rattle the Stars PR for a chance to read this book prior to the release of book 2. This is my honest review and opinion. "Uprooted" is a cozy sci fi rom com with incredible levels of banter (by far my favorite aspect of the book, the characters are all SO funny and witty with their snappy exchanges and it made for such a fun read). Oh, and there's big blue guys that are smoking hot. FMC Elowen is a part of a once in a lifetime intergalactic mission to save Earth, working tirelessly to solve their food crisis with her pollination research project. As a biology major and science nerd myself I really appreciated how well this described her research and how much of her time/life was devoted to her work.
Little did she know her mission and workaholic ways would be thrown off course by Aro, our golden retriever MMC. He's 7 feet tall, wildly charismatic, blue, a military leader, a member of the planet's royal family, and is 100% down bad for the fiercely intelligent Elowen. This book was such a refreshing read compared to some other "blue guy" novels, as the aliens were already highly evolved, humanoid, and there was no drive to make them "less primitive"...the occasional misunderstandings of human colloquialisms was the extent of their noticeable differences. This was great because it allowed the intense chemistry between Aro an Elowen to really shine as their flirty relationship developed.
This book had great world-building and I loved reading about Aro's home. It was also very character driven, and as the plot was very well delineated from the beginning, it definitely felt like it took a backseat to the emotional connection to the characters (Elowen's BFF Bri was also well written, she was hilarious and very easy to love). However, after reading a run of plot heavy books lately this was not a bad thing and made for a really engaging experience. The pacing was perfection and even with the threat of the Earth's decline, the book was still on the lighter side. Incredible debut novel, 10/10 would recommend (and already have!).

First off thank you Kennedy Rhodes for writing such an amazing book!!
This is one of my top favorite books of the year so far!! It has completely refueled my reading tank and now my entire personality will be just me being obsessed with hot blue aliens and trying to figure out how to get myself to j’Tilak! Like seriously just book me the next shuttle out of here because I want to live there now.
The world building is beautiful without being daunting. I really love the FMC Elowen, she is just trying to do her best honestly. She has moved around her whole life and just wants to find somewhere she belongs, however she lets her head get in the way of following her heart. She has a hard time turning off her drive. She wants to feel emotionally safe but she also takes on the problems of the whole world and feels like she doesn’t quite deserve the happiness until she’s accomplished what she’s set out to do. *I feel like a lot of us can relate to that feeling sometimes*. She is a scientist/researcher and traveling from earth to j’Tilak for a research project to try and save the crops on earth since us humans tend to mess everything up.
Our MMC is Aro, he is a high ranking security captain, and yes he is our hot blue alien, and I mean H-O-T. He is instantly in love with Elowen after seeing her at a ceremony on earth. And very quickly his only goal is finding her as soon as she lands on his planet. He is cocky, full spirited, and comes with lots of unexpected responsibilities and pressures from his family.
This duo seems impossible at first because of Elowens drive and focus, and Aros nonsense, but they quickly learn that opposites just might really attract and that they can find balance.
This book is also full of the BEST side characters. Lots of interplanetary politics. Tons of action. The banter is bantering. And have I mentioned the spice? Because it’s definitely there too! I mean it really has it all. And on top of all of this it is a standalone within and interconnected series and book 2 is right around the corner!
10/10 recommend! 5⭐️! 2.5🌶️!

In a dystopic and yet not so far-off future, Earth is having trouble making nature (and mostly cultives) grow. And so, scientist Elowen is sent with some other brilliant scientists to find a solution on another planet to save Earth. Elowen feels like the pressure of saving Earth is completely on her shoulders, and her workaholic tendencies are driving her crazy. At least, that is until a big, hot blue alien called Aro starts to distract her with flirty messages, noodles and atypical dates. There's no time to waste, but the longer Elowen and her team get close to discover a solution, the less she wants to come back to Earth, especially when she discovers that there might be something deeper behind her feelings for Aro.
My thoughts:
I loved how Elowen is so ambitious and self-driven. I was admiring her wit and how hardworking she was, while also being such a compassionate and naturally kind person. Her aspirations for her future, her relationship with her mentor Dr. Andi and her cute friendship with Bri made me like her character even more (and made me curious for the future of Bri and Dr. Andi, I want Tai and Lugo to be ready).
What can I say about Aro? He is the greenest flag ever. He's so patient with Elowen, giving her time to adjust to her new reality, to accept him and also, giving her the option to go back to Earth whenever she wants to. It surprised me how much he changed by the end, being even more mature and thinking more seriously about his future and the role he has to play. It was also heartwarming to see his relationship with the rest of the guys, especially with Maak, Lugo and Tai, I hope we see more of them in the next books!
Can't wait for Bri and Tai's book! All of their scenes already made me sure that they are meant for each other, but it'll be fun seeing them try to deny it.

This was a cozy alien romance and was a refreshing take on the alien/sci-fi aspect! I haven't read a ton of sci-fi romances but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Both of our characters are very capable and evolved and we don't necessarily have a character that is at more of an advantage over the other (unless you count being a massive 7 ft blue alien as an advantage lol). I loved that Aro was able to teach Elowen about his planet and then Elowen also was able to impart some of her human wisdom (like sarcasm and some of our sayings) to him.
Aro is very much our green-flag, golden retriever MMC. As soon as he saw Elowen, he knew she was it for him. Aro wanted to show Elowen that life was not all about work and that she could be happy while Elowen wanted to bring Aro back to reality a little and show him that there were still some responsibilities. They both even each other out and the dynamic between the two of them was very sweet and it never felt rushed between them. Aro kept trying to woo Elowen while she couldn't help but be the workaholic. However, it all worked well together.
I only wish that there was a little more world-building. I would love to learn more about Aro's world, j'Tilak, and also what happened to Earth that caused the crisis. With this being said, however, it did not overshadow anything in the book and I enjoyed every minute of it!

If you love sci-fi romance with heart, humour, and an MMC who is basically impossible not to adore, this one is such a fun time. Uprooted completely pulled me in with its fast pacing, lovable characters, and the chemistry between Elowen and Aro.
The banter in this book was everything. Elowen and Aro bounce off each other so naturally, and every interaction had me smiling. Their flirting feels effortless, playful, and full of tension in the best way. The mutual pining absolutely delivered, and the fact that he falls first? Perfect. Aro is such a cinnamon roll MMC, sweet, devoted, and impossible not to root for.
I also loved the friendship between Bri and Elowen. Their dynamic added so much warmth to the story and made the world feel more grounded amongst all the interspace travel and alien chaos.
The dual POV worked really well here too. Getting both Elowen and Aro’s perspectives made the romance even more addictive because you get to see all the longing, confusion, and feelings from both sides.
Another thing I really appreciated was the pacing. The chapters are quick and short, which made this ridiculously easy to binge.
I kept telling myself “just one more chapter” and suddenly I was halfway through the book.

Elowen has waited her entire academic career for this: she gets to be part of the group of scientists sent to a faraway planet to study the local plant-life of saving Earth's failing agricultural crops. And that's pretty on par with her personality. You quickly realize that Elowen is a NERD completely with nerdy jokes... a woman after my own heart, tbh. She's smart, ambitious, and career-minded. So, when she meets Aro who, well, is pretty much the opposite, she tries her best to stay away from him. He's a distraction, and she has.work.to.do. Dammit. But, cripes, Aro is pretty hot...and funny... and he's nice. And he has these little wisdoms he shares sometimes that just hit right in the feelers. So Elowen must decide, is it worth potentially sacrificing her academic career to pursue this with Aro?
Well, I mean, it's a guaranteed HEA so, that answers that for you ;)

The power of balance
This is a cute sci-fi romance that includes the following: he falls first/harder, opposites attract, fated mates, and alien romance. I adored the plot and premise of this one. It was a bit different than most of the standard romance books out there and I was all for it. I was also a big fan of the characters. Elowen, the FMC, is a serious, rule following, scientist heroine who is the perfect counterbalance to Aro, our MMC. Aro is a lighthearted, easygoing, alien military captain. Together they are perfect and I love the fated mates vibes. The side characters (Bri, Tai, Maak, Lugo, Andi, Aro’s family, etc) are also nice additions which bring more depth and complexity to the story. I enjoyed the world building that we got but I feel like it could have been better. Sometimes I feel like we were dropped right in the middle of this world with too little information to fully enjoy it. The writing seemed unsophisticated at times as well. The informal shortening of words like vid, plexi, etc annoyed me. There are also editing errors like the duplication of sentences and quotation marks not being closed. While we do get a full and complete story in this quick little read, I’d have liked just a little bit more. This was good but comes in just shy of great. Still, this sweet and spicy alien romance was a most enjoyable way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

While we do get a full and complete story in this quick little read, I’d have liked just a little bit more. This was good but comes in just shy of great. Still, this sweet and spicy alien romance was a most enjoyable way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Uprooted by Kennedy Rhodes was too good!! Apparently alien romance/sci-fi romance is my new obsession because I LOVED this!
Fun fact: I started this book, paused at 30% because I thought I was late reading the ARC for book two, binge read the second book and then came back to finish this one! Honestly? Zero regrets.
The banter between Elowen and Aro was EVERYTHING. Their chemistry felt so natural and fun from the start and Aro is exactly the kind of MMC I eat up every single time confident without being overbearing, chaotic in the best way and carrying massive golden retriever energy. That man was DOWN BAD immediately and I loved every second of it!!
I also really loved the worldbuilding. Learning about the different planets, cultures and especially the flower elements made the story feel so cozy and unique! It had this warm, adventurous vibe that made the universe feel alive instead of overly complicated.
And the j’Tilak culture?? SO interesting. I honestly would have loved even more of their customs, traditions and language because every little detail we got made me more invested!
What surprised me most is how easy this book was to sink into as someone newer to alien romance. Sometimes sci-fi can feel intimidating with heavy lore dumps, but this balanced the romance, humor and worldbuilding really well. It stayed fun while still giving enough stakes to keep me hooked.
Overall this was cute, funny, surprisingly cozy and had a pairing I genuinely adored. I’m officially invested in this series now and cannot wait to see where it goes next.

Uprooted had so much of what I love about sci-fi and romcom all rolled into one little alien-loving ball.
I really loved Elowen as an FMC. She is driven, and invests in herself, and I love that even when she starts getting feelings for Aro, she doesn't lose herself. She's incredibly endearing as a main character, and one of my favorite things about her was how much she loved talking about her work. Elowen is adorably nerdy, which just makes her banter with Aro even better.
Uprooted is told in dual POV, with the second perspective from Aro, the MMC. I loved that right from the start, you can SEE how drawn he is to Elowen. He is a sweet little alien cinnamon roll, and that just made me love him even more. I love how dedicated he is to Elowen and how he genuinely cares about the people he leads.
Aside from the romance, there is a super interesting plot that delves into political intrigue, with the main conflict ROOTED (pun intended) in scientific discovery. The plot doesn't get lost in the details, or make things too complex, which I really appreciated. It's a nice, light sci-fi read, that keeps things interesting while driving the story forward. I love that it leaves off with a bit of mystery, which only makes me more excited to dive into book two.
This was a super fun read, and would be great for anyone who loves romance with a twist of sci-fi. I think this book would be GREAT for new sci-fi readers, or for someone who has been interested in the genre but has been intimidated by "hard" sci-fi novels as well.

I'm so glad I finally decided to pick up this book as I enjoyed this story so much! Aro was such a green flag hero in the best way; he knew there was something special about Elowen the moment he saw her and was determined to get close to her. Elowen was a bit more hesitant to become involved with Aro because of her research to save Earth, but she couldn't deny his persistence or charm. I loved how their relationship wasn't easy, and I ate up the tension and chemistry between them in every interaction. I loved Aro's easy confidence and determination as he slowly won Elowen over, and I cannot wait for Bri and Tai's book next🖤
