Hellfire Riders MC #1

Wanting It All

Rate this book
He’s the one man I can never have, but the only one I crave…

Saxon Gray has reason to hate me. He spent five years in prison after saving me from a brutal violation at the hands of a rival motorcycle club – and he paid for that rescue with his freedom. I’ve never been able to settle the debt I owe him…until now.

The menace of that old rivalry is flaring up again, and as president of the Hellfire Riders, Saxon is the one man who can keep me safe. But I want more than his protection.

I want his heart.

Kati Wilde is a tight-lipped, loose-hipped woman of indeterminate age and low breeding. Born into a very large family, she now has a very small family (no laws were broken in this transition), and she writes romantic fiction to assuage her darker urge to write Transformers erotica. She lives in Oregon, so most of you are safely far enough away, and has two old cats.

Kati writes the Hellfire Riders MC romance series and will be publishing her first New Adult novel, Going Nowhere Fast, with Berkley later this year.

About Our Series:

The Motorcycle Clubs series is for romance readers who want all the heat and emotion, but who don’t have all of the time. At this time, we are only publishing novellas — our intention is to provide readers with short (yet satisfying) MC romances. Sometimes we might continue one couple’s story over several novellas, but each individual novella will have a satisfying romantic resolution. Because they are short, we focus the stories on the eroticism and romance, and will be building the MC worlds as each series progresses.

4 satisfying shortie stars
He intends to persuade me into taking a chance on him, but the truth is, there's no other choice for me.

He wants to call me his - but I already am.

Saxon and Jenny had a past one that isn't quite so pretty, he protected her without even knowing her and spent five years locked up because of it. The men of the Eighty-Eight Henchmen want Jenny, revenge for the life that was taken all because of her. Knowing her father is ill and can no longer keep her safe, she starts to make plans to leave. All the while her father is coming up with a plan of his own, which Saxon plays a big role in. But at what cost is his protection, is it worth everything she is; mind, body and soul???

Wanting It All was a sexy short read that I really enjoyed, it was one that I got sucked in and didn't want to put it down. Because it was a shortie it was quick to finish but left me still feeling satisfied. It was easy to accept the roles they played in their lives, wanting a HEA for them. Super cute sexy read with a heart behind it. These are perfect little reads, when you want a stand alone but don't have enough time.

I'm glad this was a short one or other wise I probably would of added another dnf to my shelf:(
I doubt I'll continue with this series. Couldn't connect with Jenny or Saxon.

3.25 stars! I'm feeling like I miss big parts of the story and I couldn't connect with the MC. But it's a novella so I kind of expected it's shortness. Anyhow...it couldn't hold my interest long enough. But I'm in a slump so it's probably my fault. 🤗

Ugh, not good.

I haven't read an MC romance in a really long time. This book did not work for me mainly because the plot was just so convoluted. In order to bring the two main characters together, Wilde created a very complex flow chart that was too implausible to buy into. Even if you are willing to suspend reality, the book was still flawed. The heroine is seemingly a virgin. While that's not explicitly written, she does state that any touch more than a hand-hold from a man makes her panic. If that's the case, why are all the sex scenes between the two main characters so raunchy??? And what's with all the hesitation from the heroine to commit? She states repeatedly that she's in love with the hero and has been in love with the hero for years and she's obviously more than willing to do the deed with him, but then she goes and questions having an actual relationship with the only guy she wants to touch her..... it just didn't make sense.

Also, you don't get a bachelor's degree in organic chemistry. You get a degree in chemistry. Organic chemistry is a subfield of chemistry and not a major in itself in undergrad.

I'm searching my brain for another way to describe this book other than stupid, but I can't come up with a more appropriate word.

This book is stupid. And I feel bad for saying that, but it really is.

"Wanting It All" is the story of Jenny and Saxon.

Our h is smitten with the H, since he saved her from getting raped 5 years ago and got unfairly jailed for it. Now that he's been released, she finally has her chance with him. This plot is set in the Hellfire Riders MC world.

Honestly, the blurb made me excited but the execution was poor. We spent most of the time setting up the universe instead of connecting with the h or H. Their chemistry/obsession went mostly unexplored, and I found myself glazing over the non-relevant bits. The sex scenes are average and book ends in a cliffhanger.
Going to put off reading part two because this was not interesting.

Just not my cup of tea...
I do not.. I repeat DO NOT like to read MC Riders or gang sorts of books
The main and only reason is that I never see respect being displayed towards women. If the characters within the book are ever referring to women as property or do nothing to stop the behaviour of this sort...

As for this book..well it was nothing new or enticing..

I debated on 2.5 Stars, but based on the others I've read so far, this really isn't that good. And, if it were my first experience with this author and it wasn't a KU series, I would have stopped here.

This was a bit too insta-love for me. The story tells us it really isn't, but I don't buy it. I pulled down the second on in this series, but if it isn't any better, I'll skip #3 and say I liked Jack and Gabby's story better.

90 pages. I guess you could say it is stand-alone, but it doesn't feel complete. Too few pages to try and tell a story with this much going on. So, cliffy? Well, maybe, if you feel seriously compelled to read more. You may be satisfied because it really isn't all that good.

This was the first for this author in this series/serial, so maybe she just needs to settle in. We'll see.

Happy Reading!

#MC3

Wanting it All by Kati Wilde is the third book of the Motorcycle Clubs installment that focuses on the Hellfire Riders Club. I really enjoyed this short story. It was hot, sexy and had me wanting more of Saxon and Jenny. I love the chemistry between these two characters since there was an established history and connection between them. Though this book was really short, I loved the pace of the story line. It didn’t feel so rushed and honestly I didn’t want Jenny and Saxon’s story to end. I wanted more. Wanting it All was a great MC romance story. Can’t wait for the next installment of Hellfire Riders Club!

I gave this MC a 4 Star rating because it pissed me off so much! If a book can stir up my emotions so much that I want to throw it against the wall (I didn't cause I read it on my tablet and that would have been a horrible mistake that would have made me cry...), then that books deserves 4 stars.

First of all it has some of my very favorite story must haves... unrequited love...sort of Romeo and Juliette...the hero saves the day....and a HEA ending....Well damn.... not really! Which is why I wanted to throw the book!

The reason I usually don't like MC books is because they portray women has objects w/out any respect. So I don't read them. Sigh... this one is very well written because it just grabs you and it's over before you know it and the story isn't finished and you want to know so much more.

Sigh... I really loved it even though I hated it and now I am reading Taking It All and will probably be pissed off all over again.

This was a quick but intense read... so riveting but these sentences from H/h, Saxon and Jenny below stopped cunning yet rough Saxon, the President of the Hellfire Riders MC from committing himself to yet another prison stench for killing another Reichman from the Eighty-Eight... for hurting Jenny again... this time for revenge!

“I won’t be sorry for a single fucking second of it. Not even if it’s the rest of my life.” Each word is harsh, deadly.

“I know.” My tears slide over. “But I’ve loved you for so long—and after all this time, you’re finally mine. I can’t bear losing you now.”

So what's the deal with the first lady clause Saxon! Will he have to chose between Jenny or Hellfire Riders MC?

Thoroughly enjoyed this novella that kicked off the Hellfire Riders MC series. I have read several of Ms. Wilde's other short stories and am amazed at the the way she can write a good short story and deliver characters that pull you into the story immediately. Wanting It All is the love story of Saxon, president of a rival MC, and Jenny, daughter of the opposing rival MC. Their relationship actually started 14 years prior when Saxon saved her from a vicious attack. They actually get together when her father seeks to merge his club with Saxon's. The sexual tension and subsequent scenes between Saxon and Jenny are hot, very hot. While this book could be considered as having a happy for now ending, I strongly suggest reading Taking It All (Hellfire Riders MC #2) by Kati Wilde following book 1. It is a continuation of Saxon/Jenny's story.

This is was just meh. To short and I didn't understand the connection between the H/h. The history between them doesn't count. I may at some point continue but the whole First Lady clause is just pure nonsense. With that said I thought the writing was good and it did keep my interest but unfortunately not enough to continue right away.

This is one of my go to series when I'm in a book slump. I have never ever read and enjoyed a series of novellas as much as I did this one. I like my guys badass, but to treat their women like queens. It's tough finding a safe mc romance to me but this? This hit all my sweet spots!
I took off a star because I'm not sure if Saxon was celibate while all this wanting each other was going on lol, hopefully by my next re-read I can settle that score in my own mind because these books are some of my favorites.

Wanting It All is my favorite of these MC novellas so far. (See this review to see what I’m talking about when I say ‘these MC novellas’.) It read like a full-length novel, complete with a good, solid backstory – not only between Saxon’s and Jenny’s characters but between Saxon’s MC and Jenny’s father’s MC as well. Saxon is really a hero , in all sense of the word, and is an ex-con because of what he did. (Trust me when I say it was very well justified and will make sense when you read this story.) I loved the offer Jenny’s father presented to Saxon (Jenny’s father is a smart man who means well for Jenny), regarding the two MCs.

The Hellfire Riders MC (Saxon’s MC) have a patched-in woman member, Lily. She was an interesting character and I hope she gets her own book.

While there wasn’t a major cliffhanger, the reader is left wondering what the heck is ‘First Lady Clause’?!! I look forward to reading more about Saxon and Jenny.

Memorable Moment:

Enjoyable MC romance.

I have to say I loved this book, it's an MC romance so odds were always in its favour.
Saxon Gray spent five years in prison for killing a man, a man who was about to rape sixteen year old Jenny, now while Saxon considers it time well spent Jenny can't get past the guilt she feels. Saxon is now the President of the Hellfire Riders while Jenny's dad is President of the rival Steel Titans so even though Jenny is attracted to Saxon it's not an ideal situation, that is until Jenny is offered a deal which gives her nearly everything she wants but dare she risk her heart.
This is primarily a romance and while there maybe a couple of unpleasant scenes this is by no means a hard and gritty MC book but I really enjoyed the book and the characters and I can't wait to start the next book 'Taking It All'

I actually really enjoyed this. I went in looking for purely smut but there is kind of a plot here and I find I want to know more about the characters and what will happen next. Entertaining and I think the series will be good for dipping in and out of. More book crack for Tara!

Was a great quickie! Fast hot read. Loved it! On to the next! Gotta see what happens! This COULD be read as a standalone but my OCD won't let me leave this story here. I need to see what happens with them next!

3.5 stars - This was a decent start to the Hellfire Riders MC series. It’s the first of three novellas about Saxon and Jenny. The writing was choppy at first, but seemed to smooth out as I got further into the book. Saxon is the president of the Hellfire Riders MC. Jenny’s father, Red, is the president of the Steel Titans MC. There’s no bad blood between the two MCs. Red and Saxon have decided that they want to fold the Titans into the Riders MC because Red is terminally ill. The Riders are a larger, stronger club, so this makes a lot of sense.

Jenny’s father explains to her why he isn’t part of the Riders’ club anymore and why he started the Titans. But it bothers me when Saxon’s VP mentions the First Lady clause, Jenny is all confused about what that is. She really shouldn’t have to have it spelled out for her. Her father already told her about it. She’s supposed to be an intelligent woman with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a master’s degree in business. Why can’t she figure this out?

I also wasn’t too keen on the sex scenes. But that’s a personal preference thing. I’m not a fan of the liberal use of all the wet lady bits 🐈 being explained. It’s one of the reasons why I veered away from MF books for a long time. Now I just skim past those words because 🤢🥴.

I am reading the three “Saxon and Jenny” novellas together in the book entitled The Hellfire Riders: Saxon & Jenny. At the time of writing this, it is available in KU. I don’t know if the novellas are available on their own anymore. The following note is at the beginning of the book I’m reading. ⬇️

Author’s Note: The Hellfire Riders series was originally conceived as a series of novellas for readers who want heat, emotion, and a happy ending, but who don’t have the time to read a full-length book. Saxon and Jenny are featured in three novellas: Wanting It All, Taking It All, and Having It All, which are collected in this edition and includes this couple’s complete romance.

(I’m listing them as reading them separately on GR so I can keep track of them myself. I may choose to update this to the full length book later.)

I'm excited to start this series!

This is a really great start to this series. I am loving how the story unfolds and how Jenny and Saxon have known each other for nearly fourteen years since Saxon saved Jenny from being raped by the president of biker club and his men when Jenny was sixteen and Saxon was about twenty. Saxon had spent five years in prison for killing the president of the club. They'd been keeping their distance from each other since because they were from different clubs - Jenny was the daughter of the Steel Titan MC's president and Saxon was a member of the Hellfire Riders MC and is now it's president. Jenny's father is dying of cancer and is no longer strong enough to protect her from the club who tried to take her. He makes a deal with Saxon to fold the Titans in with the Hellfire and also for Saxon to take care of Jenny.

I have this 5 stars because even though the book was short and there was a lot of backstory to go over as we start learning about the different characters Ms. Wilde did an excellent job of laying it out and still keeping a good rhythm with the story and the action. The ending ends with a HFN instead of an HEA since their story continues in the next book.

**Wanting It All generously provided in exchange for an honest review.**

3 "So let's ride." Stars

A great intro novella to the basis of the action happening in Hellfire Riders MC. Saxon and Jenny have been dancing around each other for years. Unforeseen circumstances thrust them together in ways neither anticipated but always wanted. The writing is from Jenny's first person point of view and gives just enough detail without revealing too much. With club politics and major plot points happening we get a lot of foundation in Wanting It All.

"We're gonna burn up together."

These two are super hot together and the passion ignites right off the pages. I love that she's career-driven, eccentric kind of girl and him the big, bad, brooding MC President. They cage each other in a vortex of want and need and it's fun to read. Since so much is happening outside of these two I very interested to see where the story takes us next.
