I think I might've set my expectations a bit too high for Cassia's story. I mean, it's not every day you come across a book having a woman at the helm of an organization. In my head, I had this vision of how her character would handle the challenges that come with this role and how she's going to be a badass while doing that. Sadly, I didn't get that experience in the way I had hoped.
Cassia (28) wasn't ready to be a leader, but she gave it her all since that’s what everyone expected from her. Tbh, Knight (37) came out more of a leader than she was, guiding her on what to do and how to deal with her organization and enemies.
I'm not saying she didn't do anything by herself, but the whole head of the mafia wasn't really explored well. I didn’t really see her smarts shine through on her own. I'm sure it's perfectly fine to ask for advice, but it seems like she relied on Knight's input a lot.
Don't get me started with their romance. I was confused about how they came to be, in all honesty. They didn't make sense to me, and everything between them moved progressively quickly, like 0 to 100 in a flash. I just didn’t feel the chemistry, and I think this was my face every time I read their interactions. 🤔😕
Ugh. I really, really wanted to love this, and I was so looking forward to reading it. But the story didn't live up to my expectations, and to say I was disappointed would be putting it lightly.
Anyway, I won't prolong this review anymore. While this story didn't work for me, I'm sure someone else will find this more up their alley.

Cassia is left to pick up the pieces of her life when everything goes horribly wrong one night. Knight has protected her before and this time he will never want to leave her side, there is a pull he cannot explain to himself and all he cares about, all he is living for at this moment is to protect her and make sure she lives a very long life.
His past was horrifying, the loss of his sister and what he had to witness during her last moments will forever haunt him. He has existed after her death, but he has not had any reason or motivation to LIVE.
Cassia brings him peace and quiet. These two have gone through hell and need each other to survive. Their attraction was instant and the way their relationship was built was slow but at the same time it was fast.
While I applaud Cassia for being strong and allowing herself joy after the tragedy, you know she will never forget, and it is the same for Knight. Their past will always haunt them and creep up when they least expect it but together, they can find happiness.

Michelle Heard never disappoints! I’m consistently amazed by how she delivers hit after hit with every new book. From the moment I saw the first teaser, I knew this one would be special, and it exceeded all my expectations! Right from the first page, my heart raced, and I was glued to the edge of my seat. By chapter 7, I was in tears, and my heart was shattered. But by the end, I was filled with so much joy that happy tears were streaming down my face!
Cassia is the eldest daughter and the heir of the Greek mafia. She’s mastered the art of keeping a poker face, needing to project strength and danger to everyone around her. Yet, deep down, she is terrified and a little lost about how to lead the organization. When tragedy struck her family, my heart broke right alongside hers. But instead of letting it bring her down, Cassia finds her strength and steps up to lead with courage. I’m honestly in awe of her resilience and power. She’s such a badass and I wish I could be like her!
Lincoln is an ex-Navy SEAL and sniper who works with Santiago. He’s grappling with his demons, haunted by a tragedy that took away his only family, leaving him cold and emotionally distant. His sole mission is to take down those responsible. But when he meets Cassia, there’s an undeniable connection, and after saving her a couple of times, he vows to protect her at all costs. I loved how fiercely protective he is! He gives off that “touch her and die” vibe, and he’s there to eliminate anyone who dares threaten her. He’s also the only one who makes her feel safe enough to be vulnerable, and I loved how he lets her take the lead.
Both Lincoln and Cassia are dealing with their own struggles and heartaches, and I adored watching them open up to each other and help each other heal. The way Lincoln believes in Cassia’s ability to lead and becomes her rock when she needs to lean on someone is just beautiful. Meanwhile, Cassia helps Lincoln step out of his dark past and start living again. Overall, this book is just fantastic! If you’re a fan of mafia romances that are fast-paced, and action-packed, with a fierce female lead, some spice, and even a sense of found family, this book is an absolute must-read. Highly recommended!

This book was a mixed bag for me. I wanted to love it, but something about the dynamic between Knight and Cass just didn't fully connect.
What I did enjoy was the underlying dynamic of mutual understanding between them. Knight sees Cass in ways others don't, creating moments of genuine tenderness. There's something touching about how she could be vulnerable with him because he never judged her. These quieter moments showed promise but weren't quite enough to make me fully invest in their relationship.
I'm actually much more intrigued by Santiago's character and can't wait for his book next!

En definitiva está saga me tiene muy intrigada.
Cassia será la siguiente en tomar el mando, no será algo fácil ya que siendo ella una mujer tiene muchos problemas además que su papá no le está poniendo el camino fácil pero ella no se dejará, después de un horrible suceso ella no sabe si podrá con todo pero luego de que Lincoln uno de los guardaespaldas de sus aliados la ayudará ella tendrá que tomar fuerzas para reclamar lo que es suyo.
Opinión
La verdad tenía muchas ganas de leer la historia de Cassia y vaya que la chica pasó por cosas muy difíciles, la verdad los primeros capítulos a la pobre la paso tanto 😢 me dio mucha cosa de su hermano, Michelle me ilusionó para luego aplastar mi corazón, que capacidad para sobrevivir a todo eso y luego tener que poner orden en la mafia, claro que con la ayuda de Lincoln ella pudo hacerlo, se sintió protegida, que podía confiar en alguien después de todo lo que pasó pero fue una luchadora. Lincoln también me gustó, un chico muy obsesionada con proteger a su chica, me gustó como siempre dejo que ella guiará todo, en especial la mafia.
En fin la verdad estuvo bueno y se leyó rápido la verdad la trama la sentí muy predecible, no sentí emoción en eso, como es un libro corto se entiende pero la verdad adivine desde el principio quien era el malo 🤭
Pd: ya quiero saber quién será la siguiente pareja, sabemos que tendremos a Santiago pero quién se llevará su corazón 🥹

Lincoln es un personaje que te conmueve sin necesidad de hablar mucho, y ella es una protagonista que renace en medio de la tragedia con una fuerza impresionante.
Un mafia romance intenso, lleno de cicatrices, lealtad y un amor que nace cuando todo parece perdido.

3,2 💫 | ¿Hola? Ese inicio me dejo tiesa. Cassia es demasiado fuerte, yo me habría tirado a llorar hasta deshidratarme y morir 🥴.
Me gustó mucho la relación de ambos. Como Cassia podía mostrarse vulnerable ante Knight porque él no la iba a juzgar. Incluso sin que ella lo supiera, él la entendía mejor que nadie ❤️🩹. Muy tiernos.
Knight me gustó mucho. Desde el segundo uno estuvo de lado de Cassia y la veía como la reina que era ✨. Cassia también lo entendía muy bien. Me fascino el hecho de que esta vez fuera el hombre quien tuviera los ataques de pánico (TEPT) y que ella le ayudara con ello.
Lo que quizá me fallo un poco fueron las escenas spicy, pero no voy a calificar a este libro por eso. Es mas, le doy créditos porque siento que la autora desarrollo mucho más los sentimientos, sigue sin ser demasiado, pero se noto la mejora 💗.

Me gustó mucho la relación de ambos. Como Cassia podía mostrarse vulnerable ante Knight porque él no la iba a juzgar. Incluso sin que ella lo supiera, él la entendía mejor que nadie ❤️🩹. Muy tiernos.

I tried so hard to like this book, but something didn't click for me between the 2 charas.
Cass I felt so bad for her she tried to push that I'm a strong person but everytime in her pov she's terrified of something her father, her world. It was a lot she didn't give what I thought she would in book 1. Where was that woman?!?

Tenía una imagen diferente de Cassia, aún así me gustó mucho su actitud, es muy valiente, se enfrentó a su padre, superó la perdida de su familia y pudo vencer su miedo de estar a cargo de ser la cabeza de la mafia Griega.
Knight es un amor, creo que el hecho de perder a su hermana de una manera tan trágica hizo que comprendiera a Cassia mejor que otras personas.
Ambos se ayudaron y fueron mutuamente su salvavidas después de todo lo que pasaron, me alegró que ambos tuvieran un final bonito y al lado de sus seres queridos.

Vas a encontrar de todo en esta segunda entrega de la serie. Esta vez será Cassia, futura líder de la mafia griega, quien va a necesitar a la alianza.
Y es que este libro empieza muy fuerte, con toda la acción, dando la información sobre los protagonistas, todo de golpe. Así que, claro que Cassia necesitará ayuda.
Pero será la más inesperada, porque al principio casi es impuesta, la que de verdad hace que Cassia lo consiga. Será Knight, que necesita proteger a Cassia para darse un sentido a sí mismo para seguir, quien coloca a la suma sacerdotisa en su lugar. Por el camino, ella le ayudará con sus demonios y le hará volver a vivir. Son una pareja perfecta.
Tiene más participación Santiago, con quien trabajaba Knight, del que descubrimos lo increíble que es salvando gente que no tiene dónde ir mientras lucha contra el cartel. Seguro que sobre esto leeremos en el próximo libro.
Si quieres leer un buen libro de mafia con acción, traición, pasión, amistad.... este es tu libro.

No me duro ni 12 hs este libro.
Había leído el primer libro de esta serie en febrero y después me olvidé por completo, y ni yo se por qué, pero ahora pienso leer los que me faltan de una.
Es una serie de mafia que los libros son cortos pero intensos, y a la vez son súper fáciles de leer. Ideal para bloqueo lector o cuando estas súper abrumada y no sabes que leer, como es mi caso en este momento.
Cassia es una mujer súper fuerte, por momentos sufrí igual o incluso más que ella. Se cargó la mafia al hombro y es una jefa increíble. Y Lincoln es todo lo que está bien, un hombre que sufrió muchísimo y la vida le recompensó un poco de todo ese dolor cuando encontró a su alma gemela.

He is a man obsessed and does everything for Cassia. Sometimes he was a little over the top but overall I liked him.

The first 50% of the book were amazing and I loved every page but then it goes downward. It does not get bad per se but some things irked me and I found them very irritating. First I don’t like the fact that Lincoln didn‘t follow Cassias commands. On one side he told her that she is the boss and he will do anything for her but then he just does what HE wants? Goes around shooting people without Cassias permission, I‘m not a fan. I understand that he wants to protect her but in my opinion he didn‘t accepts her as the head of the organisation. Second I wished for Cassia to be stronger. I know it is hard to loose your whole family but girl you‘re the head of the fucking mafia! Stop being a whiny pushover please. And last but not least: was it necessary to kill her whole family? It seemed unnecessary brutal the death of her sisters were hard to read about.
All on all this is not the best book by Michelle Heard. I love her writing style and the mafia universes she creates. Her ideas are unique and all her books are an easy and quick read. Will forever be a fan and devour each of her books.

Michelle tiene magia en ella porque logra que cada personaje e historia que nos regala sea diferente y que cada personaje tenga su lado especial lo que hace que uno se enamore de ellos y en este caso lo logro con la historia de Knight y Cassia🥺🫂.
Cassia es la mujer que imagine cuando la leí por primera vez, ella lo tenía difícil ya que en el mundo de la Mafia los hombres estan acostumbrados a que las mujeres no se involucren en sus temas pero ella logró imponerse y se ganó el respeto que merecía desde el primer momento, fue muy triste todo lo que le pasó pero aún así logro salir adelante demostrando que era la mujer valiente y empoderada que merecía ser La Jefa de la Mafia Griega 🛐.
Knight me tuvo suspirando de amor por todos lados, al principio su lado protector salió a la luz porque en el pasado perdió a su hermana de una manera horrible y el creía que protegiendo a Cassia encontraría la redención que buscaba porque todos estos años se culpo por su muerte pero a medida que pasaban los días se dió cuenta que su obsesión iba más allá de velar por su seguridad, el sentía atracción por Cassia. Ame como siempre supo cuidarla y la ayudaba a superar la muerte de su familia haciéndole ver que el nunca la vería como alguien vulnerable solo porque lloraba y que en el tenía un hombro para hacerlo y además era muy transparente con sus emociones siempre confío en ella y nunca se sintió vulnerable si no que se sintió amada y comprendido por primer vez desde que perdió a su hermana.😭♥️
Su relación empezó como una amistad que fue creciendo de a poco y me gusto que se tomarán su tiempo para conocerse antes de tener algo serio porque ambos tenían que sanar muchas cosas y juntos lo lograron dándose cuenta que eran el uno para el otro 🫂
¿Estos datos de Santiago son para que me obsesione mas con el? Porque si es así funciono ¡El es muy lindo! Y ya quiero leer su historia (y si tengo muchas expectativas) 🧚🏻♀️✨

Cassia es la mujer que imagine cuando la leí por primera vez, ella lo tenía difícil ya que en el mundo de la Mafia los hombres estan acostumbrados a que las mujeres no se involucren en sus temas pero ella logró imponerse y se ganó el respeto que merecía desde el primer momento, fue muy triste todo lo que le pasó pero aún así logro salir adelante demostrando que era la mujer valiente y empoderada que merecía ser La Jefa de la Mafia Griega 🛐.
Knight me tuvo suspirando de amor por todos lados, al principio su lado protector salió a la luz porque en el pasado perdió a su hermana de una manera horrible y el creía que protegiendo a Cassia encontraría la redención que buscaba porque todos estos años se culpo por su muerte pero a medida que pasaban los días se dió cuenta que su obsesión iba más allá de velar por su seguridad, el sentía atracción por Cassia. Ame como siempre supo cuidarla y la ayudaba a superar la muerte de su familia haciéndole ver que el nunca la vería como alguien vulnerable solo porque lloraba y que en el tenía un hombro para hacerlo y además era muy transparente con sus emociones siempre confío en ella y nunca se sintió vulnerable si no que se sintió amada y comprendido por primer vez desde que perdió a su hermana.😭♥️
Su relación empezó como una amistad que fue creciendo de a poco y me gusto que se tomarán su tiempo para conocerse antes de tener algo serio porque ambos tenían que sanar muchas cosas y juntos lo lograron dándose cuenta que eran el uno para el otro 🫂
¿Estos datos de Santiago son para que me obsesione mas con el? Porque si es así funciono ¡El es muy lindo! Y ya quiero leer su historia (y si tengo muchas expectativas) 🧚🏻♀️✨

HOLY WOW. Michelle has done it again 🙌
This book grabbed me right from the first chapter and didn’t let go! The action started immediately, and I swear I went through every possible emotion within the first 5 chapters 🥹 My poor heart was not ready!
Knight & Cassia... ughhh chef’s kiss 💔➡️❤️ They found each other when they were both hurting and managed to become each other’s safe place. I LOVED how they shut the world out and were completely vulnerable only with each other — it was raw, intimate, and beautiful.
The writing? Flawless.
The plot? So addictive.
The emotions? On brand for Michelle — Gut-wrenching in the best way.
The spice? Absolutely 🔥🔥🔥
This book gave me everything I wanted and MORE — and now I’m officially in a book slump because nothing else is going to compare right now.
Counting down the days until we get Santiago’s book because I need more from this world like yesterday!🙌🔥

The High Priestess, the second book of the Mafia Empire series by Michelle Heard stars Ilias’s eldest daughter, Cassia, the head of the Greek Mafia.
The storyline in this book was phenomenal. I loved seeing the character development, especially for Knight.
“My angel is slowly returning to life, and it’s a beautiful thing to watch.”

Overall, I really enjoyed this book; there were still some grammatical errors, but it was a beautiful story.

Admitiré que no es de mis libros favoritos de esta autora, aunque estuvo bastante entretenido. No me gustó que creara una protagonista tan vulnerable, me daba la impresión que iba a ser una protagonista increíble desde el principio, y que tenga que apoyarse en un hombre para poder ser capaz de levantar su imperio? No muy fan, la verdad.
El spicy estuvo interesante, entiendo el contexto de estar protegida por la mafia, pero ¿28 años y seguir siendo virgen y sin jamás besar? Está todo bien MH? Jaja creo que este libro me puso varias red flags que no me gustaron.
Espero que el libro de Santiago no me decepcione, porque hasta ahorita me ha descrito al mejor personaje en toda la serie.

It was a good story, but I was a bit disappointed—I expected more challenges for Cassia. That said, I really loved Lincoln's character.
