There are many secrets to unravel in this story—and readers will have fun doing so. The author has created a great atmosphere of suspense and many compelling characters. The heroine must deal with identity issues, even more so than most young adults. Who is Pen really—and why is her presence on earth at this time so important? And is her growing attraction to the dark, Heathcliff-like character Kane a good thing? And what is the secret of those caves?! A very enjoyable read—I highly recommend.

This was an enthralling supernatural book showcasing Pen. If you love a good supernatural story... this one is definitely for you!
You see Pen and her sister living typical normal ordinary lives.... but she never expected it to turn into something different.
The moment she meets her new friends brother... she's blown away with his brooding attitude, but is drawn to him... and then sees his softer side that draws her in more.... but at what cost?
Kane is has his Ph.D. He's unreadable, but has reasons to do so.... and seeing his sister with a new girl from school... makes him suspicious and for perfectly good reasons.
You will enjoy watching these two interact and so much more.... They are just so perfectly fitted for one another.. it's just so perfect!
Danger, secrets, mystery and suspense filled with memories, friendships and true love are showcased in this wonderful paranormal story!
Seriously you need to grab a copy of this book! It's amazingly written, grips you to the pages... and leaves you wanting more!

This is a very fun read. A mix of young adult, adventure, and romance as we follow Pen on the cusp of discovering her true destiny. I did find that her easy acceptance of the truth about her past was rather pat, but that was explained more fully later in the story. This definitely sets the stage for further adventures, and I do like the concept of 'clean reads'. Not gory, or depressing, but still deals with many of the pains and trials that make us human. Or, not so human.

Wow! I love this book! I started reading before I knew what this was about and was instantly hooked by the writing. It's got so much voice! And while the writing was fantastic, the story is what kept me glued to my kindle. I had to know what Pen's story was and find answers to all my questions. I devoured this book, which is saying a lot because I'm usually a slow reader!
