The Everlasting Series #0.5

Nate: Prequel to Beautiful Ruin

Rate this book
These women, I don’t look for them. They just appear. They are drawn to the severe cold in my eyes. I don’t want to disappoint them. I always aim to please. They want a hardcore stallion and sadly I am little else.

I’ve had them all. Their loneliness reminds me of my own. I want to pay attention to them, make them feel special. Let them do the same for me. But when it’s done, I don’t want to linger there within the mutual denial.

But then Grace comes along and all bets are off. Her touch feels so damn good I get the urge to wrap my arms around her, but I worry that I might hurt this sweet girl like a clumsy Frankenstein. If I can do one thing for her, it would be staying far, far away.

This novelette is a short prequel to BEAUTIFUL RUIN and it can be read before or after. It includes an excerpt of the first chapter of BEAUTIFUL RUIN (a standalone novel.)

Nate

An interesting novel about a young man who has no self worth but pleasuring women of any kind, shape or size then himself and once he's done.... he's gone! No emotion but loneliness and damage fills him empty. He gets himself caught in a bar fight protecting his friend which lands him in trouble and a dead friend. His therapist recommends that he chose to work off his sentence, ugh he let's his finger drop.... it lands on an animal rescue shelter, so he go begrudgingly, as soon as he lays eye's ON her, things begin to change!

Not a total spoiler.... just a tease! Get the book and read it! I need the second half... I must know what happens next!

I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sexy romantic read. Not recommended for 18 years and under for sure!

Happy reading!

After reading the first paragraph of the description of this book I was a bit shocked... but then I went back to the picture on the cover of this book and I wasn't so shocked that so many women of different types would want him. I had to immediatly dive into the book to see why he felt as if he was nothing more then the Stallion he calls himself... Holy crap I have never read a book This Descriptive.

"She throws her hands around my neck to kiss the kitten that’s resting against my chest before she kisses my cheek. My heart stops at the softness of her lips against my scruffy skin. Every time this girl touches me, I’m electrified and numbed – struggling to breathe and wanting more.

Her hands gently take the kitten from under my shirt, patting its head. “We’re going to have to keep him warm,” she says before disappearing into the back rooms.

I try to calm my heart. Apparently it’s not just my heart that needs to get in line. “Down boy,” I say, slapping my dick and pulling my T-shirt down over my crotch.

It’s been over three months since I’ve had any sexual contact but what Grace makes me feel is more than a physical need. I know this and yet it’s hard to accept it. I’ve never felt anything like this before.

I want to protect her from the craziness of the world. The problem is that I act like a fool around her, unable to convey my feelings. Everything about her drives me wild. The soft skin of her hands, the way she wrinkles her nose when she first steps out in the sun or how she scratches her forehead when she tries to solve a problem. Her slim waist and her white neck and her arched eyebrows all set my heart on fire."

I know a novella is short but it usually gives you something to forge ahead with. I felt like I got bits and pieces of nothing. A sex hungry guy, a killing that's over and done with in 2.5 seconds, a counselor that may have "or not" seen the hero for some major thing in his past also over in 2.5 seconds. All I get out of it is left with the feeling that our hero never baths, must stink and wouldn't want his tongue in my mouth ever since it goes into every stripper and bar whore he meets.

He meets a nice girl and tries to fight his attraction but still won't take a bath. I will not be reading book #2.

Loved that it was some insight on Nate's old life to see why he is scruffy. I'm not gonna lie the book is really short but it makes you want to read beautiful ruin. Which I read first. Ugh . Read you will want to read more.

I started reading the Everlasting Series with the second book, Magnificent Ruin, and I just had to go back to the beginning and experience more of Nate and Grace. Alison gave us a glimpse into the psyche of the mysterious and gorgeous Nate in this prequel, aptly name "Nate". We get a first hand experience of his prowess in the bedroom and he is smokin' hot even if he is a man whore and can't remember their names afterwards. He worships their body, leaves them satisfied, and sends them on their way. Women fall at his feet knowing that they are just going to get one night with him. That is until one tragic evening that he feels he could have prevented. Everything in his life changes and he is led on a different path that leads him to the beautiful Grace who is so unlike all the other women that he knows... if only he could let her know how he feels.

Alison delivers us a night of debauchery mixed with some action followed up by a promise of more between Nate and Grace. What more could you want in a prequel? Alison Foster gives us a short story that is both steamy and intense. I highly recommend for a titillating read that will leave you wanting more. I cannot wait to read Beautiful Ruin and dive deeper into this mysterious world that was created in Nate.

Sometimes you need to be able to just enjoy a moment and walk away. Then there times when help is needed. Nate has moments on both side of that fence.

Outline

Read more as an outline for a potential story. The main character could be interesting if the reader had more insight.

Not so sure

Not so sure about this book.....or even this series. This was a bit choppy although the plot was pretty nice.
