The Windsor Love Connection: Will she give love a second chance?

Rate this book
She thought she’d left the past behind… until he moved in next door. 💕

“This book was an absolute joy to read.” Reader review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Daisy is back in her hometown, only to discover her new neighbour is Arthur - her first love, best friend, and almost-forever. All grown up, impossibly handsome, and clearly still holding a grudge, he’s exactly where she least expects him… and exactly where she can’t stop thinking about him.

Time and distance may have changed them both, but some things feel just as his smile, his humour… and the way her heart skips a beat whenever he’s near. Arthur is now a grumpy tech millionaire with broad shoulders, sharp wit, and a habit of turning up precisely where she doesn’t want him - her thoughts, her balcony, everywhere.

As old memories collide with new beginnings, Daisy and Arthur must ask can the magic they lost be found again?

A small-town, enemies-to-lovers romance full of heat, heart, and second chances. Perfect for fans of Olivia Spring, Debbie Johnson, and Emily Henry.

Don't you love a series? A good one, where you get to know new characters, whilst also keeping track of others you've met before? It's like a family reunion!
That's how I felt when reading Book 2 of The Windsor Riverside Romance series, and Kudos to the author, Lizzie Chantree, for creating such a memorable world.
A character who had been briefly mentioned in the first book, Daisy, returns to Windsor, where she grew up, but also where she left many stories and severed relationships. She's back with her daughter, Bronte, as a single parent, with a lot of unpicking to do, as well as growing up.
Maya, one of her best friends, encourages her to set up home in a new block of flats on the riverside and to build her fledgling garden design business. But what she omits to mention is that her neighbour ends up being Maya's brother, Arthur, who is also an old friend/flame of Daisy.
But Daisy has to work through a lot of emotions and rebuild her friendships and relationships, as well as learn to fit back in.
There is so much tension, and honestly, it feels like every single man in this part of Windsor is fit!
But she comes good in the end, and we are left with a taster of what the third book will be about. I am eager to read it!

Daisy had a disastrous marriage.  Harrison took Daisy away from all of her family and friends and moved to France. Daisy was pregnant and thought everything was going to wonderful. Wrong. He didn’t have anything to do with Brontë, his daughter. After having affairs he moved out. Daisy had to fend for herself and juggle bringing up a child and working. She had nobody to help her out, except Nico who lived next door.

After finding out Harrison had died she went back to Windsor to be near family and friends. Life changed dramatically for her. Moving into a brand-new apartment she was shocked when she realised that the next-door neighbour was Arthur, her old flame and the love of her life, things begun to change for Daisy and Brontë.

The characterisation was incredible. The characters were all so believable. Although this is the second book in The Windsor trilogy, it can also be read as a standalone novel. Can you revisit your past love and make a future?  Only Lizzie Chantree can give you the answer. I couldn’t put this book down once I started reading it. It is full of love, laughter, heartbreak and friendship. This is really a must-read book. Lizzie Chantree has certainly not disappointed her fans. I cannot wait for the final book. Thank you, Lizzie, for cheering me up. This will be a huge hit.

Sweet, sexy slow-burn romance that was full of heart, warmth and community

I absolutely loved this second book in the series. I'd loved the first one and wondered how Lizzie would top that, but she did. In The Windsor Love Connection, we focus on Daisy and Arthur mainly, but many of the characters from the first book, whether it's family members or the cast in the community, feature again, some with more prominent roles, already setting us up for a third book - which I'm delighted about.
This is such a sweet, then sexy, slow burn romance, but Daisy and Arthur, who had history together, have so many issues, internal and external to fix if they're to have a relationship. Daisy doesn't trust easily because of her past, and, well, Arthur doesn't do commitment easily...because of his past. And then when you throw a hot Frenchman into the mix, ah, well, you're always going to have problems. I love how Lizzie gives characters really interesting jobs and describes the detail around those, and the settings in her novel so well. This was a true delight to read. I smiled a lot as I read it, and I cannot wait for book 3.

I love stories with the theme of a second chance at love and so I was extremely excited to read this book and happily it really did hit the mark!
Daisy left behind her old life in Windsor, her heart still fragile from a relationship with someone special to her that didn’t work out. Now widowed (after a heartbreaking betrayal) and left alone to raise her young daughter, an opportunity to good to miss comes up and so Daisy takes a chance and heads back home to her family and friends, hoping to kickstart a career that she’s always wanted.
Arthur, Daisy’s heartbreaker from her younger days reconnects with her when she moves back and gradually they become close again, but will a relationship work between them now they are adults with everything that had occurred before?
Such a gorgeous uplifting and gentle romance story, I was absolutely enthralled watching them build their bridges and to regain a friendship that they had feared was lost forever.
Beautifully written, it was such a pleasure to read every page and to witness the reconnection of two hearts 💕

Thanks to Lizzie Chantree for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

This book was an absolute joy to read. It was wonderful to return to the familiar world of The Windsor Love Pact, reconnect with characters we already know, and be introduced to new ones whose adventures are just as engaging.

The setting in Windsor is beautifully captured—I felt as though I were right there in the apartments, looking out over the river and watching the boats drift by. That vivid sense of place added so much charm to the story.

Daisy is such a lovable protagonist. She’s doing her best to rebuild her life in Windsor, leaning on the support of her family and friends while also rediscovering her own strength. Her journey is heartwarming, especially as she pushes through her insecurities and faces challenges head-on.

Arthur, her former neighbor and her best friend’s brother, makes for the perfect counterpart. Handsome but grumpy, his history with Daisy hasn’t always been smooth, but watching his character grow and soften was incredibly satisfying. The evolution of his lifestyle and personality made him even more endearing as the story unfolded.

The chemistry between Daisy and Arthur absolutely sparkles. Their slow journey toward love was filled with tension, warmth, and charm—I couldn’t help but root for them every step of the way.

A positive, uplifting, and romantic read, this book is perfect for fans of heartfelt love stories with relatable characters and a setting that feels like a character in its own right.

When Daisy returns home with her daughter Brontë from France to her hometown of Windsor she discovers her neighbour is her ex Arthur!
Lovely to return to this beautiful setting and meet characters from the previous book.
Can these two forgive and forget the past and look to the future?
Hop aboard for a meandering cruise down the river, filled with drama, fun, hope and romance.
I would love to be onboard Bertha sipping a gin and strawberry lemonade.

A pleasant read although I do hate the instant jump to mis-judgement on the part of the heroine. I like the writing style though so I’ll look for more books by this writer.
